If Sam, Gilly and babySam have to die please please please make it a peaceful death. They are precious muffins who deserve to have a nice warm cottage with lots of puddings and a small fireplace where they occasionally getting visited by Hagrid who brings them some slightly burnt chicken stew and Hagrid and Sam talk about Sam's time as a maester and Hagrid tells baby (now toddler) Sam bedtime stories about Dragons and a redhead named Charlie and Sam is like holycrapdoesCharlieknowtheTargaryen's? And then Hagrid is like "Whata yer mean? Tarwhateyen's" that's the story of how Jon Snow is a second cousin of The Weasley's... And babySam goes to Hogwarts but this was centuries before Harry/Ron/Hermione comes along but Hagrid had a time turner so he was instructed by Dumbledore to go from the present time to that medieval time because he holds the secret of the WhiteWalkers and he is the one who tells Sam how to defeat them (he doesn't read it in a book). There ya go. Hagrid singlehandedly saves Westeros.

@ GoT people... Please don't kill Theon; he's been through enough and (unlike so many other characters), he had remorse for his actions.
