Without Julian LeFay, we wouldn't have the Elder Scrolls. I can't imagine where I would be without this series, and I imagine there are others here who feel the same.
Rest in peace.
#i heard the news this morning but finally snapped out of it enough to just like. write something.#i'm watching development on the wayward realms and when they announced he was stepping back i feared the worst#thank you for everything julian#between this and ozzy i think i need to take the rest of the week

#if anyone's been wondering where the hell i've been these past few months it's pretty simple#one: fighting fascism on a local level#and two: doing that with someone i can finally say i love#if it happened to me it can happen to you! never give up! never lose hope! but sometimes that does mean going outside!

In true Boethian fashion, Vivayth has devoured the face of the heathen-god of Fortune, Zenithar, and taken on its shape.
She wears the Triangular Gate on her chest in Veloth's honor!

Like seriously, can we as a gaming fandom move past a mediocre man. Darien was a plot device in a weak Alliance zone, and found a decent end in the Summerset zone. He's a tool made up by Meridia. He has no soul, and isn't up for bargaining. Why kill off an accomplished mage to bring back a plot device?
Why does ZOS keep harping on Darien?
Why does ZOS keep harping on Meridia Bad?
#i want my money back#WE DON'T NEED DARIEN#STOP TRYING TO MAKE DARIEN HAPPEN IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN#the elder scrolls#the trash talks#solstice spoilers#christ alive. there's greymoor and then there's this.

I can't believe they made a chapter I hated more than Greymoor.

So I guess this new chapter means that the wormcult invented the magic used for the ghost fence later used in morrowind
Edit: no this isnt spoilers you can see it as soon as you enter the zone a giant wall made of ghosts with towers every now and then
#solstice spoilers#seconding this opinion#i could easily see a dunmer worm cultist talking about the ghostfence and having that be co-opted#or - more funnily - a ringo starr situation where they come up with this amazing idea only to find out that Dunmer Bob Dylan did it first

Frankly I'm upset Bethesda didn't give us a remake of Arena or Daggerfall. I realize it would be a lot of work but I'd like to see those games with more pixels

i'm probably only going to throw my two cents in once but fantasy game fandoms - Elder Scrolls AND Dragon Age - need to stop pretending like these games are divorced from the political landscapes they were made in. No one is saying you can't like so and so character or even have a fascination with an "evil" faction, but you're gonna get the hard side eye from a lot of people if you're looking at this group uncritically.
These games were not made in a bubble. You can like fantasy for fantasy's sake while still using those media literacy skills they teach you in middle school to critique the things you love. I promise it's not going to kill you.

TESV: Skyrim
Mereth
The Kingdom of Mereth, also called Falmereth, was an independent falmer kingdom that once ruled over most of the province of Skyrim, before the Atmoran-Falmer war.

these two goddamn freaks and their complexes
#i could write a whole thing about the falmer being a people of innate pattern recognition and underlying empathy#or how as the creators of auramancy could understand intent#or how after centuries of isolation - your only company guests after the weapon of your god and the ghosts of those you failed#you begin to assume the only purpose of this sacred magnificent space is a setting for a side quest#but tbh i think it's funnier if gelebor is just Like That#the elder scrolls#knight paladin gelebor#he's never done anything wrong in his life ever <3
