Maybe dragons aren’t super common (esp not on flights, bc they can fly. But maybe Stiles is feeling a little under the weather and isn’t up to making the journey himself so he bought a last minute plane ticket (“do you know how much effort it takes to fly cross country? A LOT.”)

And what if, bc Stiles is a dragon and has a mild cold, whenever he sneezes or coughs, little bits of fire comes out? So he runs to the lav to seclude himself during his coughing fit.

I imagine Derek banging on the lav door and dragging Stiles out by his hoodie, threatening to have him arrested upon landing. Meanwhile, Stiles sputters about how it’s all a misunderstanding and (when derek refuses to listen) acuses him of dragon discrimination.

And Derek doesnt believe him until Stiles, mid-rant, sneezes and accidentally sets the flight attendant jumpseat on fire.

I want to write a Sterek flight attendant AU/flight crew AU so badly.

But I dont even know where to begin…

•Dealing with bad/drunk passengers (they always have each other’s back)

•Bonding over that one crew member everyone hates (their flight leader, Jackson, is such a dick)

•Whispering secrets in the back galley (“I cried on my first international flight because jetlag is a bitch”)/laughing over the dumbest things on red-eye flights

•handling medical emergencies in-flight

Idek what these ideas are. And none of them have an ounce of actual plot to them. Anyone wanna do me a solid and lend me a plot? ;)

TSIOB UPDATE

TSIOB chapter 20 is finally ONE SCENE away from completion~

This has been the hardest chapter to write BY FAR. I think I’ve rewritten it 8 times by now... I have never hated writing something as much as I have hated this chapter.

And it’s a huge af chapter too. I’m so beyond ready to move on to the next part. Thank you to those still waiting patiently for an update! I love you guys.

Hi! Thanks for stopping by :D I’m glad you like TSIOB so much! I took a few months off from TSIOB due to real world stuff, but I’ve gotten back into it recently. A lot of the next chapter has been written, but what’s left is very...slow going. Mostly because, during my time off, I realized I wanted to make some big changes to my outline for the last chapter. And, sadly, I can’t finish the current one without knowing for sure how I’m going to connect everything and how I’ll get to the ending I want. Once I have that figured out and can get myself to sit down and write the rest, it will be posted. At this point, I’m like 90% sure on what the last chapter will entail though. So, like you, I’m hoping it won’t be too much longer haha

I wonder where the break happened that such wide swaths of younger fans don’t grasp fandom things that used to be unspoken understandings. That fic readers are expected to know fiction from reality,  that views expressed in fic are not necessarily those of the author, that the labels, tags and warnings on various kinkfics are also the indication that they were created for titillation and not much more, please use responsibly as per all pornography. The ‘problem’ isn’t that so-called ‘problematic’ fic exists but that some of the audience is being stupid, irresponsible, at worst criminal, at best not old enough to be in the audience to begin with. And that’s on the consumer, not the author who told you via labels, tags, ratings, warnings and venues what their fic was about and what it was for.

People keep requesting to add my fic to collections and I don’t know if they know this, and I don’t know if people who allow their own stories know this, but once you add your story to a collection, the owner of the collection can perform fuckery with your story.

Like, I’m REALLY glad that collections exist, and I’ve put my work into some collections when I made those things specifically for those collectuons. Collections are a useful tool for things like bangs, where the stories need to be hidden until the reveal….. but that also means that the person in charge has the ability to hide your works from the public. Like, without you agreeing, because you already “agreed” to that by submitting to the collection. Which means works you previously had available suddenly disappear from where people can find them.

What I’m saying is please stop random requests to random people to be in your random collections. I know you probably don’t have ill intentions, but there’s no way to tell. And if you’re getting requests to be part of random collections, please be aware that if you approve them, you won’t be the only one in control of some elements of your posted stories, including whether or not they “exist” to the average reader. If they mark the collection as “unrevealed,” you story stops being accessible to the public. And they have the option to mark the collection “anonymous” which I’m pretty sure turns the author from being You to being Anonymous.

And I say all of this because I have seen this happen to people. I have had friends whose stories “disappeared” because they approved a random collection invite and the collection owner turned everything “unrevealed” (likely without even knowing or understanding that it would hide it for EVERYONE not just hide the collection so no one would see they had it, it’s not like a private bookmark). And while I haven���t seen anyone do this maliciously (at least none I can prove) I can see where it could be USED maliciously. So please, just be careful out there.

I wish AO3 had a way to auto decline collection invites- they gave us a way to auto-accept, so I don’t understand why the opposite isn’t true. If I wanted my story to be part of a collection, I’d submit it myself.
