Colleer UW1 HRM Sport Watch Review
So a company called Colleer sent me their fitness tracker for a review, and it is called the UW1, this device cost $28 on Amazon, and for that price, it claims to have really interesting functionalities like heart rate monitoring and waterproofness, so, i will be reviewing it to see if it really worth getting, and if it deliver these descriptions.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push();
Unboxing
Right out of the box, you’ll get the fitness tracker, i have the black model, but you can get the blue or the green one, the UW1 looks more like a sport watch with this round display, this is a rubber plastic soft band like most of the fitness trackers, the main thinking part is a glass display with a plastic shiny bezel, the display looks alot like a mirror, they want to call it the mirror screen, so depending on your taste, i don’t know if you will like this look. but for me, this mirror display makes it really hard to see data in the daylight, all i was able to see is my face in the mirror, so that’s something you may want to consider, but if you’re inside, you will clearly see it, it is a simple display with just the data you need, without colors and without icons.
on the back side, you can find the HRM sensor, there is a small bump of the back, but it is not obvious when you wear the device.
You Can Watch the Video Review Below
More from inside the box is the magnetic charger, this is much easier to use than a micro USB one, you just need to pose the device on it to juice it up, so i think this is a plus for the price.
So build quality is OK, it does not feel premium, and that’s ok for the price, it is very lightweight and comfortable to wear for a long time, so two words about the design, if you’re looking for fashion, this is not for you, but if you’re looking for features, stick with me i’ll now get the testing part.
Features
so here are the features on paper, the company claim that this is a waterproof device, it can calculate your steps, distances and burned calories along with sleep monitoring, which are the basics of a fitness tracker, but with this low price, the UW1 can also monitor your heart rate, blood pressure (yeah you read that right), and also give you calls and reminders.
I went for a little waterproofness test before using it for a long time, the device is IP67 certified, so i’ve poured some water on it, and it actually survived as promised.
I have spent two weeks using this device, and first thing is the battery life, i was able to get 6 days of continuous use on a single charge, which is great, Step tracking is pretty accurate, i was using the S health app at the same time, and the difference is not that much for both steps and distances. and talking about distances, you can actually get advantage of your phone GPS and use the app to calculate precise distances when doing outdoor run sessions, but unfortunately you have to take your phone out with you.
Before getting to the other features, you have to know that of course, the device comes with its Android and iOS app, the app is called the H Band, you can get it on the Play store or by scanning the QR code, the app looks really clean and it’s easy to use, after syncing your bracelet via bluetooth, the main dashboard shows your daily steps, sleep tracking, Heart rate, and blood pressure, every section can get you in a more detailed interface about those data.
PROS:
Comfortable to wear
Accurate metrics (exept sleep)
Good battery life
HRM
CONS:
Can’t see the display on daylight
Inaccurate Sleep Tracking
So lets see the advanced feature, this device is able to monitor your heart rate and give you blood pressure, the latter should be an estimation based on the heart rate, so i really don’t totally trust it, but the Heart rate monitoring is pretty accurate, in fact it is automatically done every 30 minutes, than, the average is calculated at the end of the day.
Beside automatically doing it, you can also manually trigger it from the UW1 wristband, or even from the app itself. I have compared my heart rate at the same time with a data read from the S health app, and i was getting pretty much the same thing. So as a conclusion, heart rate monitoring is great for this low price.
The cool other thing is the ability to get notifications from your phone, after allowing them on the app, you can actually get calls, sms, facebook, twitter and other notifications on your wrist, when your phone receive one of these, the wristband will vibrate and show you just the app icon giving the notifications, so there is no caller ID or message preview, but at least, you can know which app is notifying you, for this to work, your phone bluetooth needs to be ON.
If you’re sitting for a long period of time, the device can also vibrate and remind you to get up an move.
UW1 Heart Rate Sport Watch
A good budget product to start your healthy journey
$29.99 $49.99
Get On Amazon
The missing thing here, is that this does not automatically detect your exercises, which you cannot really ask for in this price range, but, you cannot even manually record the exercise you’re doing on the app, you will just get your steps, distance, heart rate, and sleep data, no matter what are your activities, which i can blame on the app, and talking about sleep, the data that i got from the app is completely wrong, i was sleeping from midnight to 8am, and the device has recorded that i slept from 10 pm to about 7 am, which is not right, so, just go somewhere else if you’re looking for sleep tracking, but for other metrics and features, and for this price, you really cannot complain a lot, specially with the heart rate monitoring.
So this was my review on the UW1 fitness tracker, if you have something to add or ask, feel free to do it on the comment section below!

an Apple T-Shirt with a Display ?
Apple has a long history with filling patents, but we did not really seen everything come to life, but anyway, this is an interesting patent and we may see something like this in the future.
According to Patently Apple, the company is working on an idea of a “wearable display having an array of LEDs on comfortable silicon substrate“. the patent even shows a T-Shirt with a small square representing a display, and it is maybe a 300×200 resolution one.
Collecting the ideas that Apple is working on a purely health and fitness tracker wristband, we can somehow conclude that this T-Shirt might have the same goal, with a LED screen that can display your heart rate and other metrics.
This Patent has been released in June, it worth to know that the company has already acquired LuxVue in 2014, which is a LED company. could this be a big health project that Apple want to release? leave your opinions in the comment section below.

Gatekeeper Wireless Key Review - Best to Secure your Data ?
This time i have a cool product to show you, it is called the Gatekeeper, the company sent me the product to review it, but this will not keep me from giving my honest opinion, so lets give you a brief description on what it does, the Gatekeeper gadget will let you unlock your Windows or Mac computer when you’re just nearby, and then automatically lock it when you get far away from it, but that’s not all it does.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push();
Design and Unboxing
First let me show yo what’s in the box, the GateKeeper keyfob is on top, it looks smaller than i have expected, with a small ring in which yo can hang your keys, under the GateKeeper, you will find a 6 months lasting battery, and a USB dongle, this latter should be connected to your computer to detect the keyfob presence. There is also an extra cord accessory in case you want to hang the device on it.
so this is how to make it work, if you’re on a Windows device, you first need to download the Gatekeeper tool from the official website, once downloaded, you have to plug the USB dongle to the PC, after that, the Gatekeeper windows tool will guide you to pair the key, but wait a sec, don’t forget to insert the cell coin battery into the keyfob.
Paring and Different Options
the pairing process is very simple, just press the Pair key button on the software tool like shown on the picture below, the PC will simply detect the key, the software is very easy to use, you have several options that you need to choose between, to select the way you want the Gatekeeper to work, but more on that later.
Now that you’re paired, you can explore your options, you can choose to automatically login using GateKeeper, this mean that your computer will unlock automatically when the keyfob is nearby, you can adjust the unlocking and locking range using the slider, you get far way for the next room, or just for 3 meters, and the computer will be locked, you get back, and the computer will be automatically unlocked. The second option is called “Touch To Login“, when choosing it, you will be logged in when you touch the USB dongle with the keyfob, logging out can be then done by pressing a button the GateKeeper key, also, you can choose to login using both the PIN and the Key, which means that when the GateKeeper is in range, you will be asked to enter your PIN, or finally, you can choose to not using the key at all, which is not the purpose of it!
a signal strength bar is also there to give an idea about the connectivity
The Android App
Beside Using the device for your computer, and in case you’re using the keyfob as your car’s or home keys holder, the Gatekeeper Android app will let you use it to locate the keyfob in case you lose it, it is not a GPS localisation, but the app will use Bluetooth to detect the device, if it is found, the keyfob will start to beep until you find it, and that’s can only be done in the Bluetooth possible range. So you can only locate your keys in a small range of one or two rooms. I really wished that you can lock and unlock your smartphone with the GateKeeper, but unfortunately not.
Lets Conclude!
So lets conclude, the GateKeeper is now my favorite way to log in and logout from my computer, it is more secure and convenient, i have been using it for a while, and i did not encounter any bug or bad functioning, the key locating feature is also great, but the beeping sound is not very high, so if you’re trying to hear it in a crowded and noisy place, it will be very hard, i only use this feature to locate the my keys inside the house, and with turning the TV and all the other sounds off, but anyway, it is a plus to have this feature around. And i really hope the company makes it possible to lock and unlock your smartphone with the GateKeeper.
So does it worth to get, i will say definitely yes! since is comes with two cool features at once, and since it works flawlessly. you can get it the from the banners below.

Google Inveils its Daydream View VR Headset
Forget about the Google Cardboard, with the new company’s Virtual Reality platform, called Daydream, other VR headsets will see the light to be compatible with this new platform, and other smartphones too, and the first one is the Daydream View VR headset made by Google itself.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push();
The device is no longer made with a cardboard, it feels now more premium with a clothing like design, it is made with a combination of comfortable foam and fabric, and like many VR headsets like the Gear VR, you just have to snap your phone into the front, but wait, you’ll have to have a Daydream compatible phone, and at this moment, there is only the newly unveiled Pixel and Pixel XL phones by Google.
The device also comes with a hand controller to improve your VR experience, Google said that there will be 50 Daydream apps on the store, and other 100 ones will be soon released, Daydream View comes with different colors and it will be available for pre-orders later this month, exactly on October 20th.
