finally designed my precious girl!! it was also a good opportunity to depict L'Manburg uniform and explain some elements of it

The L'Manburg system of ranks is based on the nickname system of playing cards (Nicky, for example, bears the title of the Queen of Spades). Since the nation is represented by a small number of people, mainly letter designations are used, although numeric ones are also acceptable. The uniform is designed to represent the colors of the national flag and is made of wool and linen. Another element of the uniform is a black felt cocked hat. L'Manburg's uniform and ammunition is generally characterized by the use of fairly cheap materials and relatively simple designs, especially in comparison with the Greater Dream SMP.

considering making some tiny changes to Exdee's lore and whether or not I want c!Dream to never take off his mask after prison I don't love the idea of him being more disfigured than I already planned, but I'm not a fan of post-prison era either

I wonder if Technoblade is super jealous of all the Minecraft updates we've gotten lately, like he def would of loved the armor trims and new dogs, plus the gastlings? Fire. I wonder if there's Minecraft in the afterlife too or do they have to wait for games to like die off to get there.

Exdee is the most benevolent god in the eyes of mortals (at least those, who see him as a true god) — a carefully crafted image of his human-like form and frequent appearances to his followers in comparison to other deities. He is, besides other things, a patron of hunters and warriors, who grants them luck and plentiful kill. Punz, being a hunter and a warrior alike, is one of his most devoted followers: Exdee was the only companion in his lonesome life and his word was his only guidance. Exdee himself has a strong fondness towards Punz, towards each and every partner of his reincarnations, actually, as they are a key component in unraveling the secrets of the universe and death itself (one must admit, it would be simply inaffective to explore the afterlife without having the opportunity to be killed and revived yourself). Their relationship became ever deeper with their first meeting in limbo. Punz, perhabs, was teased for redirecting his devotion towards Dream, but praised for dedication and the faith in him right after. The impression made on him by the fact that the god he had been praying to almost before he could speak wore the face of his employer reinforced Exdee's order to obey Dream's every word as if his whole life was built on this one principle. Many things were left unspoken between them, but Punz had the impression, that he knew of Dream's connection to Exdee even more than Dream did himself.

His faith was shaken during Dream's imprisonment though. There was nothing Punz liked about their plan, but the only thing he could, the only thing he was allowed to do, was praying for Dream's well-being. It was a couple of months since the Disc Confrontation when he and Bad had their quiet exchange, when Punz slipped in a question about his partner's state. And Bad, the kind man he is, who became a guard in attempts to ease the nightmares of prisoner's torture, couldn't keep his quiet (or, maybe, he saw a chance - a vulnerability which could be exploited). The news made Punz spiral into a religious crisis - how could the god he was worshipping allow for his disciple to be tormented, how could he ignore his tearful pleas, why didn't he intervene, if he was the only deity known to do that? His god was silent, but the Egg wasn't. Nothing could be done to rescue Dream without rendering both his pain and the whole plan pointless, but the Egg offered Punz relief and oblivion and the chaos he yearned for. Besides, the members of the Eggpire offered kind words and support, unlike the suffocating dark room and Exdee's cold gaze, his icon perfectly capturing it, silently watching Punz's futile pleading.

a quick psa to anyone recently getting into greek mythology and is a victim of tumblr and/or tiktok misconceptions:

-there is no shame in being introduced to mytholgy from something like percy jackson, epic the musical or anything like that, but keep in mind that actual myths are going to be VERY different from modern retellings

-the myth of medusa you probably know (her being a victim of poseidon and being cursed by athena) isn't 100% accurate to GREEK mythology (look up ovid)

-there is no version of persephone's abduction in which persephone willingly stays with hades, that's a tumblr invention (look up homeric hymn to demeter)

-as much as i would like it, no, cerberus' name does not mean "spot" (probably a misunderstanding from this wikipedia article)

-zeus isn't the only god who does terrible things to women, your fav male god probably has done the same

-on that note, your fav greek hero has probably done some heinous shit as well

-gods are more complicated than simply being "god of [insert thing]", many titles overlap between gods and some may even change depending on where they were worshipped

-also, apollo and artemis being the gods of the sun and the moon isn't 100% accurate, their main aspects as deities originally were music and the hunt

-titans and gods aren't two wholly different concepts, titan is just the word used to decribe the generation of gods before the olympians

-hector isn't the villain some people make him out to be

-hephaestus WAS married to aphrodite. they divorced. yes, divorce was a thing in ancient greece. hephaestus' wife is aglaia

-ancient greek society didn't have the same concepts of sexuality that we have now, it's incorrect to describe virgin goddesses like artemis and athena as lesbians, BUT it's also not wholly accurate to describe them as aromantic/asexual, it's more complex than that

-you can never fully understand certain myths if you don't understand the societal context in which they were told

-myths have lots and lots of retellings, there isn't one singular "canon", but we can try to distinguish between older and newer versions and bewteen greek and roman versions

-most of what you know about sparta is probably incorrect

-reading/waching retellings is not a substitute to reading the original myths, read the iliad! read the odyssey! i know they may seem intimidating, but they're much more entertaining than you may think

greek mythology is so complex and interesting, don't go into it with preconcieved notions! try to be open to learn!

wanted to explain relationships between xd and the three main god followers (and draw their goofy mugs, of course)

the most interesting one for me is the tension between xd and phil. kristin, aka the goddess of death, is pretty antagonistic towards xd, as necromancy directly challenges her authority (besides xd being, of course, of human origin, which is already enough of a reason for them to be foes). and it's not like some of godly lore wouldn't slip between her and her husband during their quiet late night conversations

additionally, something intriguing, that i couldn't fit in the diagram, is the neutrality between xd and techno. which is remarkable, because xd is hostile towards god followers by default, but! he and the blood god are on somewhat better terms, because immortality (i.e. being revived over and over again) allows more bloodshed

also i am very much open to questions! i would love to yap about these guys more
