Sacramento is in trouble. Our neighbors are on the street with hardly enough to get by. They have nowhere to call home, they sleep on the concrete ground, hoping they have enough to keep warm at night. Where can they shower? When can they have a decent meal? People cringe and mock them for being homeless but they didn't ask for this life. They dream of a home, a soft bed, access to good hygiene, a job, all the things that make life normal and feel okay to be alive - not depressed and living under a highway bridge. Sacramento is my home. I was born and raised here. These are my people. I want to help them. They deserve so much more than to seek shelter under tarps, take river baths, and beg on the street to survive. Help me bless those who are in need. So far, this production has been self-funded and I have been buying food and hygiene products for care packages. I drive around downtown Sacramento where the Sacramento homeless population is most dense to hand out these supplies. Unfortunately, I can only do so much and that’s why I am asking you for help. I want to be able to provide weather durable sleeping bags to those who are cold. I want to provide tents for those who prop up tarps hoping they’ll be sturdy enough to not be blown over by the wind for the night. Eventually, I would love to bless the community with bicycles so that they have transportation, enabling them to find AND keep a steady job. These are good people who deserve a chance. They are stuck. Help me give them that chance to pull them out of the hole they’re in. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts at Team Penguin and from Sacramento.
