Ships Series: Sansa Stark x Oberyn Martell

Oberyn was different than any other man Sansa had encountered, whether in King’s Landing or before. He had promised to take her to Dorne and he had kept that promise. He had promised to love her and he had kept that promise.

Sometimes, when she looked at Oberyn, she wondered what her father might have thought. He had promised her someone ‘brave, gentle, and strong’. Oberyn was older than her true, but he wore his years well and he was certainly brave. He had taken the Mountain’s head after making him confess to his crimes against his sister. He was also gentle. Oberyn treated her the way she had always dreamed as a girl. She would never forget his smile when the lemon tree he had planted for her outside their window began to bear fruit, or his elation when she had told him she was pregnant. He was strong too, one of the strongest men she had known in both character and prowess. He had also never used that strength to hurt her, like so many men had before him.

She had never regretted taking his hand that day in the Red Keep. He was hers and she was his till the end of their days.

Took some time out yesterday to draw the rest of the pose (before it was just the faces) and put clothes on them (it would be a very different picture without!). 

I had to draw a bunch of kissing poses for a client recently (I know, twist my rubber arm, right) and I’ve decided that an ‘almost kiss’ is better than the actual kiss.
