New Minisode out now!
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the bartender is taking a long rest via Gritty Realism Rules (DMG pg. 267), and so it's just the Tavernkeep! Alone, in the dark, the Tavernkeep has decided the best way to spend the time is playing a TTRPG, specifically a solo TTRPG called Bloodless!
A vampire at the end of his wits, just hoping to make it home before sunrise, Simon Beldevon has to try to navigate a troublesome night. Will he make it to his safe-house, tomes in hand, or will he become a victim of the very thing he was an essence of, the darkness?
Get the new epsiode, out now, wherever you get podcasts!

New Episode, Out Now!
House rules are a staple of the TTRPG genre. While the rules are useful and are what makes a system, changing the rules to better fit what your group wants or needs is integral to the true TTRPG experience.
In this episode, we review houserules from reddit, possibly providing rules alternatives, and new ideas, These are, of course, just our opinions.
If you want to support us, spreading the word and sharing on the social medias is the best way to help us grow. We appreciate it so much!

If you want to show your support, the best way to do so is spreading the word, and engaging.

What's happening with Theo Solomon is so, so frustrating and needless and disgusting (more info can be found at this post), and I also want to acknowledge the treatment of Wyll's original voice/mo-cap actor, Lanre Malaolu.
Malaolu gave an excellent performance! His delivery and the way he incorporated mannerisms and posture into Wyll's physicality was amazing. The original characterization of Wyll was written very well and matched the general tone of the wider party/narrative.
And to suddenly have Larian, years into the project, rewrite the character entirely and then re-cast it? To have other actors talk about how Wyll just 'wasn't working' as a character? All because of fan criticism that places ridiculous (and often contradictory) standards and expectations on black characters. Even if the re-cast resulted from scheduling conflicts (as Malaolu couldn't come in to re-record), we lost Malaolu's entire performance because of a rewrite that was simply not necessary.
And after disregarding Malaolu's years of work into this character, the same criticisms that Larian caved into are thrown at Wyll's rewrite, and the same disregard is being seen with Theo Solomon again and again. As someone who started playing early access when it first came out, fans' treatment of Wyll and his actors hasn't gotten better. It's actively gotten worse.

"wyll's too nice i'd like him more if he were a little meaner and angrier" you guys couldn't handle vivienne de fer having a complicated relationship with the oppressive system she was raised in. you couldn't handle liam costa making a minor but well-intentioned mistake. you couldn't handle preston garvey having a recurring fetch quest.
you couldn't even handle early access wyll who was angrier and grappled with moral quandaries more. and you can't handle wyll as he is now when he playfully teases astarion.

i told my friend’s dad that he was hot (it was in context with the conversation, he was complaining that he was feeling old, etc), and he said a very genuine thank you and the conversation moved on to other topic, my friend was now talking about something else entirely when his dad goes
“i think if i were born in your generation i might have been bisexual”
and friend got kinda mad at me lmao

it’ll never fail to amaze me that chessex, the game dice company - like if you bought your first dice set from a game store/comic shop/card shop you most certainly bought a chessex set - has such an ugly and poorly designed website. it looks like they went out of business 15 years ago.

Spend NO MORE than 90 secs looking up a rule, then make a decision, and move on.
Later, after the session you can look it up and inform everyone of the correct ruling moving forward.
What do you think?

Oh boy am I late with this one folks! This week's drink is The Scourge of The Gods. It's based off of one of the Tavernkeep's characters, J'anellaine.
J'anellaine is a War Cleric Aasimar who hates the gods because they think they can dictate who gets healed. They are a radical healer and will put their powers to use healing everyone, friend or foe.
The drink is 1/2 oz orange liquor, 1oz sweet vermouth, a dash of absinthe, and 2oz peaflower gin all muddled up with some cherries. Top it off with ginger beer and throw in some ice cubes made with tonic water!

Grave domain clerics respect the natural cycle of life and death, it honors deaths inevitably. They would in theory be the ones to give the dead proper funeral rites, comfort loved ones, etc. They want you to die when it's your time.
Death domain clerics are more focused on what causes death and what makes things undead. They want to kill you and bring you back wrong and under their control. They just want you to die.
Their rolls in a party are also different. The death domain is a more martial class while the Grave domain provides more support.
Hang on, there’s a Death Domain Cleric and a Grave Domain Cleric? What the fuck is the difference? That’s like being a pyromancer, and then finding out there’s just a better version of pyromancy!
