I have made a new bag for my Tarot deck (left). The old one (right) I have had since the 1980s! It is very worn, and the little gold flecks that represent stars - the gold paint ate the fabric away - leaving tiny holes!
The new bag is larger (has to hold my deck, a timer, and a crystal guardian) and it is also lined. I hope the old cards like their new home! I'll have to do a ritual to guarantee it.
I have very little of this fabric left and had to piece it together to make the fabric square large enough to make the bag.

I am not sure I am one hundred percent behind every one of these statements.
Strict Tarot Rules My Grandma Taught Me
Sweep the floor with a whisk broom before every reading. It shows respect for the old gods who will be coming in.
Answer only three questions for a querent in one seating. Revealing too much sacred information will dilute its meaning.
Always use the Celtic Cross for a personal reading. “You cannot truly appreciate the weight of the advice you are giving if you don’t fully understand the way the querent is feeling.”
Make an offering to the querent’s higher self before proceeding. “The body may want a reading, but the soul may be unwilling.” A piece of chocolate or anything sweet should be appropriate.
Ensure the querent’s hands are clean. Prepare a hot towel or a water basin. It rids their body of negative energy and keeps your cards from getting dirty.
Dim the lights before you deal the cards. “The Fates live next to Hades. They are not used to harsh lighting.”
Play soft and quiet music. It calms the mind and encourages the querent to bravely tell you what they really seek.
You shuffle, they cut. Shuffling lets the cards connect you to the source. Cutting allows the cards to feel the querent’s life force.
Honesty is better than sympathy. Exaggerating hopes and softening harsh truths do more harm than good.
Never forget to thank your cards afterwards. “The messages come from the goddesses, yes. But your cards make the effort to speak them in the way you can understand best.”

This superstition likely comes from old English and Scottish folklore, which saw crows as mystical creatures connected to the spirit world. Because crows are scavengers often seen near battlefields and graveyards, they were linked to death and omens. Over time, as science replaced folklore, this belief became more of a fun rhyme than something people took seriously. Now, crows are just another part of nature, not messengers of fate.

Bone Readings 101

A Brief Overview
Divination through bones (osseomancy) is a practice found in cultures all over the world! This naturally this means there are plenty of variations. I'll be speaking definitively for the purpose of this post, but this is just the way I was taught and you'll find talented readers with different approaches.
In my personal practice, bone readings are EXCLUSIVELY a form of Ancestral communication. You can ask them any questions you like, but that's who is answering. I think the nature of bones is fitting for that.
What's In A Bone Set?
Every bone set is hand-curated. Your set pieces (and their meanings) will always be unique to you personally; nobody can read on your bone set and you can't read on anyone else's. Just the way it goes.
Besides bones, many people also include trinkets and curios like dice, keys, small stones, charms, etc. Some sets won't even include real bones at all, though everything in the set is still called bones.
The associations for each bone are up to you. You're the only one reading with it, so do whatever feels right!
Pro Tip: Remember you're going to drop these, so make sure not to include anything too heavy or too brittle. I used to have a tiny geode in my set which cracked in half while reading for somebody else. It almost broke one of my other pieces too. Don't be like me.
Performing a Reading
Because bones are part of my Ancestral practice, I always start by cleansing the altar/my reading spot and giving an offering to my Ancestors to welcome them in (just something simple like water or incense.)
Create a landing space with boundaries. A cloth with a circle is popular. I use a rabbit skin.
Reach into your Bag O' Bones and cast them! Lots of variations here. Some people use their hand, others have something to scoop with. I don't let anyone outside of my family touch my bones directly. Do what feels right! Cast them onto your mat like you would with dice or runes. Pick up anything that lands out of bounds and put it back in the bag.
Examine the bones and how they've landed. Some people will have mats with different marked areas to cover certain topics! Consider the meanings of the bones, which bones they land close to (or on top of!), and the general "shape" of the spread. Often it will seem like it's moving in a certain direction. I personally think it's fine to pick up and remove any bones that aren't "talking" to you!

It's now July First, and PRIDE Month is officially dead. How many places you frequented the past month that removed all their 'Rainbow Washing' at midnight last night? Are they supporting you today? No - of course not. They only wanted your Gay Dollars and now that PRIDE is over, they will wait until next year and 'Rainbow Wash' their business again.
These are NOT your gay allies - far from it.
Stop supporting them until their Gay support is 24/7/365.
