I was in college when I met them, six lovely guys wanting to be performers of good songs and instruments of happiness. I remembered that I have to download their songs on my laptop because I don't have a proper phone, and my mom had to listen to their songs because I kept playing it on repeat. The lively beat, the beautiful melody and the healing smiles and laughter of these guys are what got me going. They kept me going, their music shed light in my life and during my darkest days, when living even felt like an obligation to do so. They are one of my anchors. There's this guy whom I loved the smile so much, every time he smiles his eyes would form crescents and the room would light up because it was so bright. His voice is so calming that it can lull you to sleep. When I'm stressed I would only watch their goofy videos and I would have a really good laugh and then I would be okay. I felt like I had a friend. They were my friends. The news I heard the past month and this week had broken me in ways that I wasn't able to imagine. I never knew I could cry and miss someone that doesn't know me this much. I'm grieving and I know I'm not very good at coping but I'll remember everything that you've done for me, I'll live with these good memories that you've left us. Memories of you, whom I treated as a good friend, you've left a lot that I think it could last us until our times are up. Through the dark times and the tough times, I know that you'll always be here. Wanna be your star will never be the same again, Bin-ah you'll always be a star that lights up the sky along with the heavenly bodies that shines down here on earth. You've got so much love to give that it overflows and heaven needs someone like you. You did great, and rest well our brightest Star.

That One Summer

I wasn't even fifteen when I met you but I believed you when you told me that you loved me. That was a first.

I was 18, a grown up, but I still viewed the world with rose colored glasses. I believed that there was good in everything. I believed in you.

Still 18, we used to sing songs, write poems, and bask in the morning light with smiles on our faces. Waking up to good morning messages, and daily dose of I love yous. We were good, so good for each other.

Almost 19, I still get high from happiness with every single message that you send me. Like an idiot who keeps on smiling so wide that my gums almost came out. The butterflies that I felt whenever we made plans about our uncertain future.

Nineteen. It all started to drift apart. You barely had time for me while I was trying to hold my life together. I needed you, but I wasn't able to reach you. A day turned into weeks of no talking, and I was only given 5 minutes of your time. It was crazy and chaotic, I was losing my shit. I was losing you.

Summer. It was summer when I was 19 when I lost you. You were the love that I was desperate to have and to keep. I clung unto you for so long, hoping that I'd be able to keep at least a part of you but it all drifted away, until I was left with nothing but radio silence.

That summer, someone I loved so dearly broke my heart. And it was never the same again.

So I had to write this, just because... Idea of little things from our gc owner @writingthingslol

I was sitting alone in my balcony while staring up into the night sky. I remembered what my friend told me once in a rare and sparse conversation that we had.

“Space is the best cure for sadness, so whenever I feel sad I stare off at space.” He said while smiling softly at me, as if sensing all my weariness and patted my head.

“You know me well.” Out of the many words that I wanted to say, it was all that I was able to blurt out.

“You see those stars? Someday, we’ll be up there, we’ll fly up there. We are a part of the universe after all. Don’t fret too much, when you feel insignificant just know that we all are, we are just small parts in the grand scale of the universe.”

With what he said, I smiled, feeling relieved that this person who is giving me a cheeky grin is beside me, because of all the notable things he did, he made things bearable.

And who would have thought that those grin and precious words, were the last thing that he bestowed upon me.
