The late, great Tony Todd in the role he's best-known for. He did many other roles - big and small. Usually, someone deserving gets left out of the Oscars "In Memoriam" segment. This year it was Tony Todd among others.

A true original. "Blue Velvet" is my favorite film of his. "The Elephant Man" is close behind. I'm curious to see if there will be a re-evaluation of his version of "Dune". If you're not familiar with "The Straight Story", check it out. RIP

"A Quiet Place: Day One" trailer. The third film in the series, but it's a prequel. Not as good as the first one, but better than the second one. Reminded me of "War of the Worlds". Still generates suspense very well, even with loads more aliens.

The Lighthouse (2019)
Before I see Nosferatu, I wanted to see Robert Eggers' 2019 film, "The Lighthouse". Willem Dafoe (who's becoming an Eggers regular) and Robert Pattinson star. The picture is very vivid and raw, something of a psychological horror story. Dafoe is terrific. Pattinson is a revelation. The harshness and monotony of their daily lives are fascinating, even though not that much actually happens. Pattinson's character is the newbie or "wickie". Dafoe's character is the veteran and will not allow Pattinson to do anything with the light, relegating Pattinson to the most menial tasks. Dafoe's character claims the previous "wickie" went mad. You really feel as if you're on the island and in the lighthouse with them, particularly when a terrible storm presumably sinks or disables their relief, who was due any day.
"The Lighthouse" is atmospheric and has style to spare. The performances are riveting. Eggers shows he's a superb writer and director with an uncanny ability to capture a particular time and place with an uncanny sense of dread, as he also did in his 2015 film, "The Witch".

Christopher Nolan's next film, an adaptation of Homer's "The Odyssey". About as sure I thing as I could imagine, even if it doesn't open when "Barbie 2" does. Coming 2026.
