I'm back in my Narnia phase (it never left)
I rewatched all the movies and now every time I see a video about it, I feel empty. Like, a nostalgic emptiness? I don't really know how to describe this feeling, I hope you understand. I read only three of the books (2,4,5) but now I want to read them all. I don't want to leave this phase.
I really hope there are other fans out there. All the editors that I find don't post anymore. The videos are old, and it makes me feel sad
Haha I don't know, it's probably a bit random, all this. But I hope someone understands what I mean

Guess who's writing a part 2!!!!
Kinda part 2, it can be read as a stand alone thing with some wedding planning and stuff
The Herald | Johnny Storm x fem!reader
Summary: Johnny thinks he had a moment with the Silver Surfer.
Disclaimer: I've seen the movie twice and tried to write some scenes from memory, so they might not be exactly the same. Spoiler alert is in order since it is heavily inspired by the movie.
A/N: This essentially was written around one dialogue I thought of and it took me around 600 words to actually get to that part, but enjoy.
Navigation
Tumblr media
You left your room after what felt like an eternity, planning a wedding had become a pain in the ass when your husband-to-be had a busy schedule being a celebrity and a superhero. Johnny tried to be there and help you make decisions as often as possible, but some days like today it wasn't possible.
You looked down at your watch, it was almost time for Sunday dinner and the smell from the kitchen told you that Ben had almost finished cooking.
“It smells delicious Ben” you complimented Ben once you walked into the kitchen.
You usually helped him cool Sunday dinner; you, him and H.E.R.B.I.E had become quite a team in the kitchen. However, the planning of the event that was your wedding meant you couldn't cook with them as often as you'd like.
“How's the wedding going?” Ben checked on you.
“It's going” you shrugged “I'm seriously considering eloping as an option, too much pressure.”
“Everything will be fine” Ben assured “don't worry.”
Johnny walked past you and Ben on his way to grab his cereal box.
“How did it go with Reed, babe?” You asked him, you knew he had that meeting at 2:15.
“It went.”
“Hey don't worry about it we'll go back to space in no time” Ben quickly reassured Johnny.
“Yeah, I hope so” Johnny sighed in disappointment, “but how’s our wedding going?”
“As well as it can go without a date” you shrugged “I've talked to some vendors, selected a few color palettes and chose some stuff from the magazines.”
“I'll check them out tomorrow, sorry I haven't been around for this” he softly kissed your temple.
You had learned how to share Johnny with the world ages ago. You had started dating about a year after his family and he got their powers, he didn't expect you to stay after all of that came with dating the heartthrob and ladies man Johnny Storm, he didn't expect you to stay after all the cancelled dates and last minute changes due to his responsibilities, but you did and in that moment both of you knew you were each other's forever.
He had asked you to marry him a few weeks before Sue discovered she was pregnant and you decided to have the wedding until after the baby was born. That way Sue would be able to enjoy the wedding a bit more and both Johnny and you loved the idea of having your nephew between the guests.
“Duty calls” Ben spoke when the sound of sirens interrupted all the conversations in the room.
“Oh no, that's all me” Reed told him, all of you walking to the balcony as Reed explained how he had organized patrols to take down some of the enemies in the area, an attempt to make the city safer for his son.
You were about to walk back inside for dinner. You had promised Sue you would tell her all about your ideas for the wedding during dinner and both of you couldn't contain your excitement over the topic and this time their watches actually rang.
The night sky lit up in orange lights, whatever that was, The Fantastic Four were needed on scene to figure out whatever that was. First it was Johnny just flew towards it and Ben, Sue and Reed took fantasticar.
You went back inside sighing. Not in an annoyed way, it was an “of course this would happen at dinner time” kind of sigh. You walked towards the living room knowing that whatever that was it was already on the news.
“...I herald Galactus” was the first thing you heard from this silver woman once the TV was one, she continued a speech about how the planet had been marked for death, about us having to do whatever we needed to do before the unavoidable end came, last thing you saw was Johnny going after her.
It was time to decide the best course of action, Reed managed to discover that they had about a week before Galactus destroyed the world. He found a pattern between the surfer's visit and the destruction of the planets he had observed.
“How long until Excelsior is ready?” Reed checked with Ben, going to Galactus before he came to Earth was the most logical thing to do.
“20 hours”
“Hey!” Johnny tried to get their attention “she spoke to me, the surfer when I went after her.”
“She spoke to all of us, Johnny.” Ben dismissed him.
“No no no, when I chased her” he kept insisting “she spoke to me in her language.”
“And what did she say?” Reed asked him.
“Well I don't know it was her own language”
“What were the context clues?”
“Context space”
“And the tone?” Sue continued.
“Angry? Threatening?” Ben offered.
“No no, not at all. It was kind.”
Then Johnny explained his encounter with the surfer, how he got close to her face and how he got to see his reflection and stars. It triggered a certain insecurity you had when it came to the women around Johnny, he had assured you had nothing to worry about and you trusted him. You knew it wasn't jealousy, just this feeling of self doubt that would creep from time to time.
“Kind? Warm?” Ben continued to make fun of him.
“I get it Johnny loves space, Johnny loves women and now there's a naked space woman” he was basically throwing a tantrum at this point “and Johnny thinks they had a moment.”
Sue and Reed look at him like he had lost his mind, Ben made a comment about him speaking in third person and you looked at him with concern. The rest of the team left the lab to finally get everything ready for the mission. Going to Galactus before he came to Earth was the most sensible and only plan at this point.
“So…is this naked space woman someone who I should worry about?” you asked him, trying to light up the mood.
“Very, funny. Make fun of me too” Johnny said sarcastically "I also don't think I have to remind you you are the only one for me."
“You gotta admit that her being warm and kind is not very natural” you tried to reason with him "she did threaten our entire world...just when we got engaged."
The timing was so funny it hurts, right when things were settling down for not only Sue and Reed, but for your relationship with Johnny as well. This felt like a sick joke from the universe.
“I think May is a good month” Johnny suggested for the wedding, the baby will be around six months and the pink and green color palette you chose will look pretty during spring.”
“You wanna talk about the wedding right now?” You asked him.
“Why not? We need to choose a date anyways.”
“Do you think your new girlfriend will like that?”
“Y/N, I'm serious” he groaned “we need to choose a date soon.”
“Look, go to space I know how much you've wanted to go, defeat Galactus and do whatever you gotta do up there and then we can sit and talk about our wedding.”
“I just feel like I've been neglecting that and leaving you all alone with those decisions” Johnny said truthfully “I don't want you to think this doesn't matter to me.”
“Babe, you've been busy” you told him, moving your hand to cup one of his cheeks “you still make time for me…for us and I would never be upset at you for doing your job.”
He kissed you softly and slow, a kiss that said I love you thank you for being here.
“You always know what to say.”
“That's my super power” you shrugged and took one of his hands pulling him towards you “now let's get ready for your new mission, but you better not leave for any other sexy alien you might meet on the way.”
“Knock it off with that already” by this time he was amused by the comments, but he couldn't shake off this feeling. A feeling that told him that whatever she had told him was important and he had to figure it out.
For now though, he was more than content to have you in his arms for the night and worry about whatever Galactus had in store for them tomorrow.

RATING: none

(or: H.E.R.B.I.E. is a snitch)
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
consider this a sort of prologue to an eventual full fic about these two, but @birdie-birdie-birdie sparked this in my brain and i had to get it out. and also, thank you to @munsonstorm for giving this a read for me!
WARNINGS/TAGS:
johnny storm - fantastic four: first steps, female reader, no use of y/n, established relationship (or situationship?), getting caught trying to sneak out, awkward encounters, fluff.
Tumblr media
Reed enters the kitchen with a yawn, tying the belt of his robe into a knot at his waist. H.E.R.B.I.E. has already started to prepare breakfast — eggs and bacon sizzling on the stove, slices of toast stacked neatly on a plate, the juice maker churning fresh orange juice and, most importantly, coffee steaming in the carafe. He grabs a mug and fills it to the brim to combat the exhaustion Franklin’s middle of the night cluster feeding has caused.
“Good morning, H.E.R.B.I.E.,” he says after a sip. The robot beeps back at him as he rolls by with a stack of plates and placemats to set the table. Reed finds the morning paper in its usual spot on the counter and flips through it, skimming the headlines between more sips of coffee. H.E.R.B.I.E. beeps to let him know the table is ready and he looks up, brows pinching together when he notices a fifth table setting.
“Does your programming need to be updated again?” He wonders aloud. H.E.R.B.I.E. responds with a series of beeps that Reed interprets as “no” and “guest”. “We don’t have any guests coming,” he adds.
H.E.R.B.I.E. beeps again, robotic arm pointing up. Reed frowns, unsure of what it means.
You tip toe down the stairs, your shoes clutched in one hand and your bag in the other, dressed in the same clothes from the night before, now slightly wrinkled from being left in a pile on Johnny’s bedroom floor.
Staying the night is not usually part of the routine when you visit Johnny at the Baxter Building. The risk of getting caught together was too high, given the fact that he shared the apartment with his family, but for the first time since starting whatever this thing between you was, he had asked you to stay. And you, being a sucker for his big blue eyes and warm hands and sinful mouth, agreed. He kept you wrapped up in his arms all night, his face pressed against your neck and his legs tangled with yours beneath the sheets.
Pulling yourself away from him this morning had been torture, especially when Johnny let out a little whine when you escaped his hold, but with the sun already up and the chances of making a clean escape dwindling by the minute, you knew it had to be done.
You reach the bottom of the stairs and peek around the corner, cursing to yourself when you saw Reed Richards, Mister Fantastic himself, standing in the kitchen with a cup of coffee. You press yourself back against the wall, trying to think of an alternative. Maybe you could just go back upstairs and hide in Johnny’s room until the coast was clear?
You take a couple steps back in the direction you came from, heading for the stairs, but freeze when you hear Reed clear his throat. Turning slowly, you find that the man is now standing a few feet away, watching you curiously.
“Uh…hi,” you say, giving a little wave. Beside Reed, H.E.R.B.I.E. beeps, waving back at you. He looks down at the robot.
“This is the guest?” He asks. The robot nods. Reed’s attention returns to you. “Hello. I’m Reed Richards.”
The idea of Reed Richards introducing himself to you, like he’s not the most well known man in the world, is almost enough to make you laugh but you bite your tongue and introduce yourself.
“Reed, honey, who are you—“
Sue Storm appears behind her husband with her son on her hip, looking far too beautiful for how early it is. She’s dressed for the day in a smart pair of pants and a soft looking sweater, hair already styled and makeup applied, though the dark circles beneath her eyes are becoming harder to cover as Franklin’s sleep regression wears on. Her sentence trails off when she sees you.
“Hello,” she says, lips curling in a knowing smirk. “Who’s this?”
“She’s a guest,” Reed says, sharing a look with his wife. Some unspoken communication passes between them and you wonder if maybe the universe could help you out and produce some sort of emergency that would call the Fantastic Four away from this painfully awkward encounter.
“What’s cookin’, H.E.R.B.I.E.?” A booming voice asks, heavy steps coming down the stairs.
You look over your shoulder just as Ben Grimm appears, stopping short when he spots you. He looks toward Reed and Sue, who must also be able to communicate telepathically with Ben, because his confusion morphs into understanding, rocky mouth now tilted in a sly grin.
“Come sit,” Sue says, setting Franklin into a high chair at the head of the table.
“Oh, I wouldn’t want to impose—“
“H.E.R.B.I.E. makes a mean breakfast,” Ben chimes in, pulling out one of the chairs and gesturing for you to take a seat. You blink at him.
“Okay,” you acquiesce, sinking onto the chair and setting your stuff on the ground by your feet. “Thank you, I appreciate it.”
“Of course,” Reed says, taking a seat beside Franklin’s high chair. “Would you care for some coffee? Or fresh squeezed orange juice? We also have milk and tea.”
“Coffee would be great,” you reply.
H.E.R.B.I.E. rolls up beside your chair a moment later, balancing a tray with a mug of coffee, a pot of sugar, and a tiny silver container of creamer that he sets on the table. You take the mug and add a couple scoops of sugar and a splash of cream.
“So,” Sue says, sitting down on the other side of Franklin, across from Reed. She gives you a friendly smile. “Tell us about yourself.”
The family listens attentively as you tell them about working as a librarian at the public library. Between bites of eggs and toast, Reed follows up with questions about your educational background when you mention that you have a degree in chemistry in addition to your Master’s in Library Science. Sue, while spooning oatmeal into Franklin’s mouth, asks to hear more about the outreach programs you’ve helped implement.
It’s Ben who asks the question on everyone’s mind.
“So, how’d you meet the hotshot?”
Your cheeks feel warm as they wait for you to respond. “He comes into the library a lot,” you reply honestly.
“Really?” Sue asks. Her surprise is mirrored on the other family member’s faces. “Huh. Imagine that.”
Footsteps on the stairs announce Johnny’s arrival. He turns the corner into the dining area, arms stretched above his head and eyes squeezed shut as he yawns. You pretend that your gaze isn’t immediately drawn to the strip of skin revealed when his shirt rides up.
“Morning,” he says, blinking the residual sleep from his eyes. H.E.R.B.I.E. rolls up with a mug filled with creamer and a hint of coffee, just the way he likes it. He scratches the robot on the head. “Thanks, HERB.”
It takes him a moment to realize that everyone is staring at him and that, more importantly, you’re seated at the table.
With his family.
Eating breakfast.
His lips stretch into a wide grin as he rounds the table and bends over to plant a kiss on your cheek. You stare at him, wide eyed with surprise, while he settles into his seat.
Sue hides her smile behind her mug. Reed busies himself with wiping oatmeal off of Franklin’s chin.
“Nice of you to finally join us,” Ben says, voice smug. “We were just gettin’ to know your friend here.”
“You mean my girlfriend,” he corrects, shoving a forkful of eggs into his mouth. “She’s great, right?”
“Sure is,” Ben replies. “What’s she doin’ with you?”
Johnny glares at his friend, flicking his next bite of eggs in his direction. Ben laughs and Reed asks him a question that drags his attention away, allowing you to lean closer to Johnny.
“Girlfriend?” You whisper. He looks over at you, gaze soft and sweet. Your heart pounds in your chest.
“That okay?” He asks, blue eyes suddenly filled with uncertainty. You smile at him, closing the distance between you and kissing him softly, aware of the others at the table attempting to sneak glances at the two of you.
“More than okay.”

⭑.ᐟ when johnny falls in love (pt.2)
johnny storm x reader
Tumblr media
notes: thank you so much for the love on the first part of this fic! it really, really means the world to me, thank you! <3
warnings: no spoilers for f4 first steps – this fic is set on my pb&jj universe, but so far it’s been much more centered around the f4 family and it can be read as it's own series too. fem!reader. english is not my first language. please don't copy or repost anywhere.
Truth be told, Johnny is a little ashamed to realise that he’s not above begging when it comes to getting to see you again.
“Sue, please!” He kneels by the couch where Sue sits, little Franklin sitting on her knees and curiously looking at his Uncle’s odd behaviour. “I’ll do anything you want! I- I’ll make you a roast for next dinner!”
Ben’s sitting on the other end of the couch, laying back and enjoying seeing Johnny trying to break his sister's morals. “Don’t give in, Susan. We can get a bigger bid from him.”
“I’m not giving in at all!” Sue exclaims, handing Franklin to Ben and walking to the kitchen. She starts opening different cabinets, looking for something. “Johnny, you know I’d love to help you, you know I thought she was lovely even before Sunday dinner. But I just hired the girl. What is she gonna think of me?”
Johnny gets up to follow her in the cabinet hunt, offering her a forced smile, “Maybe she’ll think you like her so much you want her to be in the family?” Sue snorts, gently pushing his face away. “What are we looking for anyway?”
“Popcorn. You’ll make it.”
He sighs. “I’ll stop asking you to pick up my clothes from the laundry?”
“Hey! I’m the one who’s always picking up your clothes!” Ben shouts from the couch.
“I’m babysitting Franklin next time you want to go on a date night with Reed?”
“Sorry to break it to you, buddy, but you’re babysitting whether you want it or not.” Reed says as he walks in, briefly kissing Sue’s cheeks and walking to the couch, sitting next to Ben. “What are we watching tonight?”
“Johnny’s misery, apparently.” Ben whispers, holding back a laugh. Sue looks at them in a grim manner and Reed immediately clears his throat, focusing on doting on his son instead.
She finds the kettle popcorn bag and pushes it to Johnny’s chest. “Sorry, darling. I’m not giving you her number.”

Johnny finds himself taking turns between complaining about his sister’s refusal to collaborate on his true love conquest and planning on how to see you again in a way that doesn’t make him look like a psychopath. All he needs is a plan, an excuse, a built-in meet cute, something.
Something turns out to be quite a big thing – getting Ben into helping him.
“Johnny, you understand you’re asking me to go against your sister’s wishes?” He says on the phone, and Johnny cuts in.
“Well, technically, all she said was that she wouldn’t give me her number. Nothing about me actually going there.”
Ben hates technicalities, he knows Johnny is just using it as an excuse to get him to help. But he's a big softie, despite his rough edges, and even though he sighs deeply before saying anything, he agrees on asking Sue to meet him for lunch on Friday.
Ben says they need to discuss the press for a new tech product they’ve been working on — which isn’t a complete lie. It’s just that the press isn’t supposed to happen for the next couple months. Of course, by happenstance, Ben will forget the project papers, and have to ask Johnny to bring the papers in — to the Future Foundation floor, where you work.
Does that mean Johnny will have to pull a few overnights to get the project done in time? Yes, it does. But that’s a sacrifice he’s willing to take.
By Friday afternoon, he shows up on your floor, paperbag in hand containing the documents and 500ml of energy drink flowing in his blood.
The sight of you behind the reception desk is making him giddy, and he’s sure his heart might give out anytime soon. He takes a second to recompose himself before walking to you, fully aware that he has to be in his best behaviour if he wants this to work.
You look up from the appointment book in your hands, a grinning smile splashed on your face, “Johnny Storm.”
“That’d be me.” He mirrors your lazy grin, as if he’s not actually feeling his heart beating on his throat.
“And to what do we, common people of Future Foundation, own the honour of your visit?”
Johnny thinks there’s a little, tiny flirtatious tone in your voice, and god, how he wants to throw these papers at the closest bin and just flirt back. But he’s playing safe rather than sorry, so he swallows his charm and restores back to his professional attitude.
“Uh, I- I’m here to see my sister.”
“Susan doesn’t have any scheduled meetings with you today.”, you say as he watches your eyes scam his face, up and down.
“No, not with me.” He holds the paperbag up so you can see it too. “Ben forgot those papers. He asked me to bring it to them.”
Your eyes squint, like you’re looking for a hint of malice in his words. He just gives you his best, well-rehearsed polite smile, and you slowly grab the phone, still glancing suspiciously at him. “I’ll let her know you’re here.”
He gives you some space as you call Sue’s office. It’s all hushed tones and whispered questions until you call his name. “You can go in now. They’re waiting for you.” Johnny just nods at you, and immediately starts walking to Sue’s office.
She opens the door before he can even knock, the wind blowing her blonde hair, “You are unbelievable!”
“I think what you’re trying to say is “Thank you, my darling brother, for bringing me these urgent papers”, no?” He holds the paperbag to her face, and Sue harshly tugs it out of his hands.
“Urgent papers, yeah, okay.” She murmurs in a sarcastic tone, handing the papers to Ben, who’s sitting in an orange chair right before Susan’s desk. He sneakily gives Johnny a thumbs up, to which he just beams. “You’re lucky you could pull this off. Did you even check these documents?”
“Yes, ma’am. Asked Reed to check them too, just to be sure.” He says, leaning closer to her and adding in a smaller voice. “They were all correct, though.”
Sue’s face softens at the little smile Johnny’s showing. It’s hard for her to be annoyed at him, she thinks. Even when he’s acting so stupid, he still finds a way to show how smart he really is. The thought alone makes her feel nothing but the pride of an older sister, who’s watched him grow into such a sharp-willed, warm young man.
“You really are something, you know?” Her mouth tugs up in a smile and she squeezes his shoulder, immediately pushing him towards the door, “Go talk to her and get out of my floor, now.”
Johnny sprints out of the room before Sue can change her mind.
As he walks back to the reception, hands running through his hair and clothes, he watches you talking on the office phone. He waits until you hang up before approaching.
“Hi again, thank you for letting me in.” He leans on the counter, deliberately casual, holding his distance from you. “How’s New York treating you?”
You give him a tight lipped smile, “So good, so far. Mary has been lovely. And Susan, oh, I can’t thank her enough for offering me this job.”
Johnny smiles tenderly at you, this time with no act involved – just a true, gentle smile at the mention of his family. “Aunt Mary says wonders about you. And Sue, she really likes you. Said so since that time you were over for dinner.”
Your eyes twinkle at that. “Your family has been really nice to me.”
“Eh, you know us Storms.” He does an exaggerated shrug, “Got a reputation to take care of.”
“And yet…” your face opens into a big cheshire cat smile at him, a teasing tone taunting your voice, “Yours still precede you.”
Johnny feels his face flushing, all the way up from his neck to his hairline.
He feels a little stupid now, a new blow to his already harmed ego. How could he think he’d just show up and swoon you, when his reputation is something so fresh in your eyes. How could you feel at least a little charmed by him without the conviction that he’s not just playing with your feelings?
The idea of asking you out again feels silly. Instead, Johnny just wants you to know he can be a good man too. That he can be loving like his older sister, or kind like his Aunt Mary. Wants you to know that he was raised by both these women and maybe, surely, something good must have rubbed off on him too.
“Um, about that…” He clears his throat, unsure how to go from here. “I was sort of hoping we could maybe start things over?”
You, to your credit, immediately notice the lack of tease in his voice and your smile falters, “What do you mean?”
What does he mean, really?
He wants you to like him, of course he does. But more than that, he wants you to know him first. To completely break the pre-conceived idea you have of him down and build it all over again — a better one this time. He thinks honesty might be a good way to start.
“I’m just not sure I like the image you have of me.”
Your shoulders drop, “Johnny, I told you already, I really think you’re a nice guy–”
“Yeah, well, that’s not enough.” You widen your eyes, and he does too, at his sudden boldness. “I mean, I just think… I think you think you know me, but you don’t.”
You shift in your chair, clearly caught off guard.
“And I’d like to have the opportunity to change that.”
Your eyes drop down to your own hands, fidgeting with your nails, “Johnny…”
Before you can say anything, he clarifies. “I’m not asking you on a date. I mean, I did ask you out that Sunday at Sue’s”, he chuckles softly, and you do too, which fills him with a newfound confidence that he’s doing something right, at last.
“I just want to get to know you, and I want you to know me too. That 's all.” He smiles at you, his ever so hopeful side taking over his features.
You look up at him like you’re in disbelief, the shadow of a smile lingering. “You… you really are something else, Johnny.”
“I’m hoping that’s a good thing?”
“It’s… something.” He gives you a lopsided smile, your teasing tone back, except this time much tender.
Johnny thinks you’re looking at him like you’re pondering how to match his honesty without throwing in the towel that maybe you’re gonna say yes. Before you can say anything, the phone on your desk starts ringing.
You look at the ID Reader and sigh. “I- I have to get this.” When you look back at him, there’s a small apologetic grin decorating your face, “I’ll see you around, Johnny.”
You pick up the phone and give him a tiny, final nod. He nods back and turns around, walking towards the revolving door.
Johnny tries to keep his composure and just walk – not look back, not look at you again.
But it’s stronger than him, really – a tale as old as time, seen before in all kinds of stories, from Orpheus in the Underworld to Johnny Storm in the Future Foundation floor.
He looks back at you.
You’ve turned back to his direction, phone in your ear, eyes on his face now. He recognises on your expression something he often sees in himself: a wonder in the face of possibility. A burning for what might be yet to come.
As he walks out, he does a 180º on the revolving door so he can face you again and offers you a wave, like you did that very first night. A smile goes from ear to ear on your distant face, and you wave back.
Johnny’s on his way home when a text from an unknown number pops up in his phone. He finds that, like the effect of an instant potion, there’s fire in his heart again.

Y/n and Johnny had always been a little too close for comfort, too close to call it ‘just friends’ and everyone around them knew that. but after the incident everything changed including themselves.

Johnny Storm never thought he'd end up like Reed—until his pregnant wife told him he wasn’t going on that mission. Superpowers? Useless. Against her? He never stood a chance.

Johnny Storm x Teacher!Reader
Summary: Johnny Storm was usually a natural flirt, but something about Franklin's teacher had him losing his mind.

“Um, hello?” The door to the living area swung open, revealing one furious Johnny Storm and a much more jovial Franklin Richards.
“First,” Sue arched one eyebrow, taking in the sight of her five-year-old son. “I want to know what is all over Franklin’s face.”
Franklin clapped his sticky hands together. “Uncle Johnny bought me ice cream! In a cone!”
Sue huffed out an annoyed sigh, directing her glare at Johnny. “And why is he eating ice cream now? Now he won’t be hungry for dinner.”
Reed bit back a smirk as he stretched his arm across the room and plucked a tissue from its box. He wiped the chocolatey residue from Franklin’s mouth before sending him to wash up.
Johnny rolled his eyes, irritated that his sister thought he needed a reason to spoil his nephew. “The real question is, why did no one tell me that Franklin’s teacher is a total babe?”
The other three members of the team offered up their paltry reasons.
“Why is that important?” Sue stood up from where she sat next to her husband. She put her hands on her hips, ready to launch into a full lecture about not spoiling Franklin’s appetite, but Johnny already turned his attention to Reed.
“I’m a married man.” Reed gestured to the band on his fourth finger. “I don’t go around discussing how attractive other women are.”
Ben shrugged, flipping to the next page of the New York Times. “I just wanted to see you get all twitchy.”
Johnny flipped him off, his anger boiling beneath his skin. “Well, a heads-up would’ve been nice,” he grumbled, stalking into the kitchen and grabbing the first box of cereal he could find.
Bran Flakes. Pass.
“We’re out of Frosted Flakes,” Sue told him.
“Ugh.” He shoved the Bran Flakes back into the pantry and flopped down on the closest chair. “Today is not my day.”
Something softened in Sue. Maybe it was seeing her baby brother so upset, or maybe she was feeling less resentful about Franklin’s impromptu snack now that Johnny was missing out on one.
She gently mussed his blond hair. “Do you wanna talk about it?”
“No.” Johnny scowled. Not even a second later, he sprung forward, elbows digging into the table top. “I went to the school, expecting to see some decrepit old lady like his preschool teacher—”
“Wasn’t Mrs. Luft, like, fifty?” Ben quipped.
As usual, Johnny ignored him. “But then I saw her. She was in this plaid skirt with this shirt that, y’know…she wasn’t showing anything off, but it gave me…ideas.”
“Seriously?” Sue massaged the bridge of her nose. “We don’t wanna hear about your ‘ideas.’ Just please tell me you didn’t get Franklin kicked out of school.”
“Have a little faith in me.” Johnny scoffed. “I just smiled at her. I think. Actually, I might have just…stared?”
No one missed his visible cringe.
The room remained uncomfortably silent until Ben spoke up. “You just stared at her? Like…” He mimicked a dead fish, eyes wide and mouth agape.
“Did you at least introduce yourself so she didn’t think some random man was abducting Franklin?” Reed asked, tone heavy with annoyance. He turned on the television set, staring at as the anchor delivered the news in black-and-white. “The last thing we need is people thinking we’re under attack.”
“Oh, c’mon.” Johnny rolled his bright blue eyes. “Everyone knows Johnny Storm.”
Even in his panic-stricken state, Reed couldn’t argue with that logic. It wasn’t as though there was another person in New York City who could soar through the air, body ablaze.
Sue let out a long breath. “Well,” she finally said, “looks like Ben will be in charge of pick-up from now–”
“No!” Johnny burst out. “Give me a chance to redeem myself tomorrow. I won’t be weird.”
“Gonna be hard to beat today’s romantic staring contest,” Ben muttered under his breath, not bothering to hide his grin.
Johnny stalked over to where Ben sat reading. Without uttering a single word, he sparked flames at his fingertips and incinerated Ben’s newspaper into an unidentifiable pile of ash.
“Oops.”

The next day at three in the afternoon, Johnny was waiting outside of the school. He wiped his sweaty palms on his jeans for the fifth time in as many minutes.
He hadn’t looked forward to the sound of the schoolbell ringing since he was a student. And he certainly never felt anxious about it.
Pull it together, Johnny. You’re the Human Torch, for crying out loud.
But unless his powers suddenly afforded him the ability to flirt with you, his superhero status was a moot point.
Sure enough, Franklin bounded down the steps alongside his classmates. He waved to Johnny with a mile-wide smile.
This is it. Go over there, introduce yourself, and ask her if she’d like to go out for a drink. No, dinner and a movie. Don’t want her thinking I’m trying to get her drunk.
Through his rattling nerves, Johnny managed a smile when he approached you, silently vowing not to screw this up again. He extended his hand, eyeing it to keep it from shaking.
“I’m, uh, I’m Johnny–” he started, but he was quickly interrupted by an overly-enthusiastic Franklin.
“Uncle Johnny! I remembered to tell her about how you got me ice cream, just like you told me to!”
Never in Johnny’s life had he envied his sister’s invisibility powers. Until now.
He didn’t need a mirror to know that the tips of his ears were bright red. He wanted to melt into a puddle and slither down the sidewalk and into the nearest drain.
Yes, he’d bought Franklin ice cream yesterday. Yes, he might have told him to tell his teacher about it. He didn’t expect his nephew to blatantly rat him out.
Note to self, he thought bitterly, teach Franklin the meaning of the word ‘secret.’
“And I told her what you said to Mommy, Daddy, and Uncle Ben, too!”
Johnny choked on his own saliva. There was no way Franklin heard what he’d said last night from his room…right?
He spoke through gritted teeth. “Bud, I didn’t say anything about–”
“Yes, you did!” Franklin insisted. He crossed his arms over his chest in indignation, looking scarily like his mother when she was angry. “You said that she was a total babe!”
Johnny clapped a hand over his nephew’s mouth a fraction of a second too late. The damage was already done.
He forced himself to look at you. You didn’t seem disgusted or even embarrassed; in fact, Johnny could’ve sworn you were fighting back laughter.
“Bud, go play with your friends for a few minutes, okay?”
“But–”
“Go play with your friends,” he hissed, “and I will buy you more ice cream.”
Franklin ran off to the playground and joined his classmates without another argument, no doubt already figuring out how to finagle his uncle for a double scoop.
Johnny shoved his hands in the pockets of his jeans. “I am so sorry about him,” he said. “We’re still trying to find his ‘off’ switch, but, uh, no luck so far.”
This time, you didn’t hold back your laughter. “Don’t worry about it. Kids say the craziest things. I never know what’s true and what isn’t.”
There it was–an out. You’d offered it to him on a silver platter; all he had to do was pretend that Franklin made the whole thing up and he’d be home free.
Instead, he swallowed his pride and summoned all of his courage. “I didn’t mean for him to overhear that. I would’ve preferred that the first compliment from me was something a little less…”
“Blunt?”
“I was gonna say douchey, but that works.”
You giggled, and Johnny thought he might fall over on the spot. “What kind of compliment were you thinking?”
“Oh, I dunno.” He flashed you one of his signature flirtatious grins. “Maybe that you’re beautiful, or smart, or have the patience of a saint to deal with all of these little gremlins.” He took another step forward. “If you’re free tomorrow, I could tell you more of them over dinner?”
“Are you asking me on a date?”
“Depends.” He coyly pursed his lips. “Are you accepting?”
There was another peal of your delicious laughter as you reached for the pen tucked behind your ear. “Here’s my number.” You took Johnny’s hand, palm up, and scrawled down the most incredible ten digits he had ever seen.
“I’ll call you,” he promised.
A date. You’d agreed to a date.
Johnny had to pick out an outfit and figure out something with his hair and buy you flowers–but first, he had something more pressing to address.
“FRANKLIN RICHARDS, WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT BEING A TATTLETALE?!!”

You were somewhat of a vigilante
After running away from the lab where you developed your powers you started fresh in New York City
Helping people around, especially at night
Sometimes by the time The Fantastic Four arrived, you had already finished the job
As new parents Reed & Sue didn't mind, more time to be with Franklin the appreciated the help
Johnny on the other hand didn't
He wanted to be the hero all the time
Starting a chasing game with you
Who was the fastest to respond? Who saved the most civilians?
"Getting slower Storm?" "I'm only warming up"
Unlike him and his family, you had a secret identity
The media and headlines loved that, they wanted to know who you were and why you decided to hide
Johnny made it his mission to find out who you were
Following you but always losing track of you
"Now you're a stalker?" you finally said when you caught him
"You come out of nowhere and try to steal my job" Johnny replied "in some way I deserve to know who you are"
"Well, some people don't do it for the fame and glory" you shrugged before running away
Johnny had failed once again to discover your identity
You kept driving him nuts, you were the only thing he could think about
And you were thinking how to mess with him, Johnny was the only thing on your mind
One day in your competitions you put some civilians in danger Reed and Ben were able to save them on time
Sue was not happy with Johnny, you disappear for months
"Though the Mole Man had kidnapped you" Johnny teased once you found each other again
"Just needed a break from this"
"I missed working alongside you" Johnny admitted
"So we're friends now?"
"Let's say co-workers...superheroes gotta stay together"

Right so in a week I've written and posted four Johnny Storm fics and that's a new record for me. I just wanna say thank you so much for reading! Getting notes daily from those posts has been so fun, thank you again for giving my silly little fics a chance. They might have a few spelling mistakes and too much commas, but they were written with love and no AI ❤️
I have plans on writing PBJJ fic, it's been a while since I've written about my new favorite friendship and a request I got yesterday.
