“That’s something new I hear...” Jerald replied to his statement. “It’s so strange, I do wonder why.” The Warden thought for a minute and then proceed “Hmm, you are blind, so I take it the pain is because you have other senses sharper? But why don’t the wardens hurt you as much...”

Archer looked rather confused at the mage. “Well ehm…you do you. I mean can you wear stuff like that?”

“Okay…fine I tell you why I never hug people except you and well…before that Anders. Because it hurts, it hurts physically to touch people. To have people touch me and even with clothes it hurts like hell.”

“Oh?” Jerald suddenly realized that he analyzed the situation wrong. “I am sorry, Archer. I did not want to put you in a painful position.”

“What does it matter anyway. I hugged you, big deal, I know.” Archer was sometimes someone who would snap back at people if he felt like he couldn’t get out of a situation. It was kind of a weakness for him, sometimes people compared to some feline - a cat.

“It is a big deal to me.” Jerald replied and then gave Archer yet another kiss on the cheek, and then continue “Thank you, Archer Hawke.”

“Well I-I you know….reasons.” He couldn’t even help feeling his face heat up as he blushed since he had no idea why he hugged him. Sure he could say it was on impulse or he wanted to return the favour. But it would seem wrong and a lie after all.

“Was it maybe because you love me and you wanted to make me feel loved by giving me something I love?” Jerald replied, making Archer know that he was aware of what he just did, and that he loved it, as shown by his smirk of approval.

“I do not actually love it…I mean I am not exactly relaxed right now, but it is good when it comes from the right person. I never let my family hug me…” He actually pushed them away when they wanted to hug him. So yeah there is that. “I don’t let many people touch me.”

“Oh really?” Jerald spoke and he let go of Archer. “But then, why did you hug me right now?” The Warden wasn’t an idiot not to know, but, he wanted to hear it for himself, instead of speculating.

For Archer it was just something else, but he could deal with hugging once in a while and even accept it himself. However it felt weird to be the protector all the time, must be because of his whole behaviour.

Jerald raised his head for a moment and gave Archer a small kiss on a neck, after which he crawling back deeper into his arms. “You know, I always thought you’d hate intimacy. I am glad I was wrong.”

Archer just carefully approached Jerald and pulled him closer and hugged him on his own, well he did try at least. He wasn’t good at the whole hugging thing.

Upon getting wrapped inside Archer’s arms, Jerald calmly wrapped his own hands around the warrior’s waist and snuggled his head on the warrior’s chest. The thought of for once being vulnerable is comforting.

Archer was well a little bit confused, not that much but he played it well. He smiled at Jerald the same way. “so do you still want to hug me naked or is there more involved?”

Jerald smirked like an idiot at Archer’s words. “Maker, do I love you...” He replied to under, then placed his hand under Archer’s chin and gave him a small kiss.

He chuckled. “Not quite.” Jerald replied. “What I meant was your armor wouldn’t be an obstacle in hugging you.”

Archer really was someone who could hardly believe anything, he just accepted life as it was and well sometimes it was good and sometimes it was bad. So he  watched Jerald for a moment and was slightly confused when he hugged him. Okay physical contact was something Archer still had to learn to accept.

Upon parting from the hug with Archer, Jerald chuckled and then said “I hope that didn’t make you feel uncomfortable, love”
