Linkette was already confused to begin with. She had wandered through the woods underneath Clocktown countless times and always ended up right where she started. She knew she should perhaps be training with her blade, but... At the time, it was nightfall and you couldn’t see the sky from that deep forest. So she wandered until morning, or so she believed as she soon found a break in the trees, a glow of light that she had never seen before.

However, what she wasn’t expecting was to see someone her age just...yelling at her. For no real reason. 

“What are you...” She paused, deciding her question wasn’t a very important one. She just had to locate where the woods had taken her. Her sister was perhaps waking up by now... 

“Where am I?”

A swift slice, a rather sloppy one from how tired her arm was getting from slicing and hacking away at tree branches. She was hoping to explore her home world and go where no one had gone before, but from the looks of it, the only thing under the Clock Tower was forest. She hated it in this forest... She had to keep herself from blacking out where they had died seven years ago...

She was torn from her dark thoughts when a light entered her vison through the mass of trees. An exit...there was an exit. A feeling of excitement rose in her chest as she was overwhelmed with warmth and curiosity. She had lived in Termina all her life and had never seen wherever this was... It was new, and she couldn’t be more excited. 

She sliced away the branches and rushed out of the wood, hoping to feel the sun on her skin once more. A smile formed on her lips as she broke into a run towards the light. When she finally busted through the mass of trees, she felt like she was alive again... But her excitement suddenly froze as her blood ran cold, her sky blue eyes widening in shock—and in somewhat horror. 

Standing before her was a man who looked exactly like her. Yes, he was a male and had short hair instead of her long locks, but they were the same... The exact same green clad outfit, mirrored blue eyes, the exact same height and lean body type and facial structure.

Who was this stranger that wore her face.?? They could be siblings, twins even. Like she was staring a male version of herself in the face... 

“...who are you..??”

It felt like it had been too long since the captain of the guard took some time to herself. She felt like she was always training the new recruits, never able to just breathe and enjoy the wild and exploring... But if you’ve been exploring since you were ten, you’d eventually find that you’ve see it all. She desperately craved a change of scene....perhaps that’s why she found herself trekking through the woods underneath Clocktown for a change of scene. 

What she wasn’t expecting was to break through the trees and reach an area she had never seen before. A wide open space, a town in the distance... She had only ever seen Clocktown and the various other civilizations in Termina. But this... this was so new. 

She glanced up at the sky—night would be approaching soon, she needed shelter...—and decided it was a good idea to head into the town. She was wearing an updated version of her old green tunic and hat, one that fit her adult body, but she didn’t expect to get any odd looks from the townspeople. She swallowed as she entered the town after a long walk, hoping to find some sort of inn...

Every time the heroine walked through these woods, she would always find herself back where she started. Never had she found out what laid on the other side of this forest... If there even was anything. No, there had to be, these woods couldn’t just go on forever... That’s what Linkette told herself, at least.

She had left Epona at her house in Termina field and instead brought only her weapons in case she was met with a monster of sorts. The only sound was the crunch of leaves and branches beneath her boots... not even a single bird cry or buzz from an insect. Soon, Linkette found the air getting heavy with mist, mist that she had never seen before on her previous adventures through these woods. She found herself coughing as the mist grew heavier...it was growing hard to breathe.

The Captain picked up speed and tried to get out of wherever she was, but the mist was too strong. In a matter of minutes, she lost consciousness and fell... but when she awoke, she was in a glowing grove with small plant-like creatures staring at her.

She coughed before pushing herself up into a sitting position. Linkette then looked around at the space surrounding her—the little wooden creatures scurried away when she moved. Were they deku scrubs..? No, these were different... She turned her gaze and saw a man in the forest as well. Had he been here this whole time...? And who was he..?? Ugh, her head hurt far too much for this...

Not a word was spoken from the blond as she walked, the only sound being the crunch of leaves and grass beneath her boots. Typically, if one were to be forced to work along side someone for a mission, it would be ideal to at least say a word to them. With even a fraction of a bond, a duo could work better together—or so her sensei had told her. But she didn’t wish to speak.

At least the silence was calm and accepted by both sides.

Linkette had been paired with another demon slayer, one with a prosthetic leg to replace one she assumed he lost in battle. But that didn’t matter. They had a mission to take care of—a demon to slaughter. They had been walking side by side for hours now on their way to the town where there had been a demon sighting... Linkette looked forward to defeating it. Then she could go back home to her sister.

She took out a roughly sketched out map of the area. The town was still a bit away, but she wasn’t concerned. She was fine, and if her partner for the mission needed to stop for whatever reason, she was fine with that as well.

This was ridiculous. Linkette had known Yoko for a while now, but had only seen tiny bits of her. She and her sister had come to Fukuzawa when Linkette was only fourteen in order to be trained by a master with a blade. As such, she had been around Yoko and had seen her in passing every once in a while—she was younger than her by a few years, so she never really paid her much attention. When Linkette joined the Armed Detective Agency formally, she never really saw Yoko after that. 

Until now, that is. 

Sky blue orbs remained focused on the document in hand, her lips pressed into a thin line as she thought about this case. She wasn’t as clever as Ranpo was, but she was definitely one of the best fighters in the ADA—and as such, she was typically placed on missions that would require her skill with a blade. She was reading the files on the case as she walked over to get a glass of water before bumping right into someone, dropping her papers in the process.

The woman’s orbs shot over to the person she had walked into, only to see that it was the President’s daughter herself. Linkette sucked in a quick breath, pink beginning to form on her cheeks as she signed a quick ‘I’m sorry’ before kneeling down to pick up her papers.
