Today's GH - 11/4/2024

The only parts of the episode I watched were the Spixie and Jason scenes. And just like I knew it would, their scenes broke my heart.

Spinelli and Maxie's reactions nearly killed me. I knew it'd be hard to watch, since they were Sam's best friends.

Them grieving the death of Sam had them crying and me crying, too. The only thing that would've made it better, was if Jason had hugged Maxie when he hugged Spinelli.

That's a wrap for General Hospital for me. We've seen Jason and Dante react, Davis girls, the kids, and now Spinelli and Maxie, and that's all I need. Fuck GH. I'm just going to imagine Sam's in Heaven with her daughter, Lila, and her brother, Danny, finally reunited with them after all these years as they watch over the people they love. 😭😭😭😭

I’m writing a chapter in my multi chapter fic in Kunikida’s pov and I was wondering if you have any tips on characterization

uhhh oh god

I've exclusively written smut and characterisation isn't that important in that

Exasperation is key I think

and autism too

I mostly just write him how I think I'd be in situations

I'm also ace and don't care for sex myself which I think probably comes into how I write smut fics which in turn feeds kunikidas characterisation in said fics

though I suppose in you + me I wrote nearly 2.5k of plot build up and then nothing very explicit even happened

I guess just write with complete confidence that you are the person who understands this character correctly and go from there?

key charactersistics I think are he's very literal but that could be my autism too

contempt but admiration for dazai (my own personal dislike aside)

a hint of trauma sprinkled in daily conversation

transgenderism (I don't have a specific trans kunikida headcanons but someone made a really good transfemme kunikida post and I made that my canon, but also transmasc kunikida hits different when you're also gender weird in that direction)

comphet and the themes of denial, conformity, guilt, and the internal struggles of it all filter heavily into his character especially with the ideals book I think

I love kunikida and i only think about azure king kunikida in the sense of 'what if' kind of thing like what if things when differently and kunikida ended up going down the path to becoming tha azure king? And roles were changed and swapped around like Beast, like an alternate universe.

That or i headcanon that the azure king ends up actually being a relative of kunikida's.

I totally get that, and that’s literally the point of the Azure King, to show what Kunikida could have become, it’s just Bones dropped the ball on the adaptation and I’ve seen 4 long post theories already about how kunikida is the the azure king as if it’s not something he’s deeply traumatized by

so the anime doesnt Quite capture how actually in love with sasaki kunikida had fallen.

irl, sasaki nobuko was kunikida doppo's ex wife. they married against the will of her parents but got divorced before she gave birth to their kid. TRAGIC story, sasakis mum told her she should kill herself instead of marrying him. all the drama.

there is just something. so........ about them.... if sasaki hadnt had died there the two of them would have ruined each other. theyre both caught up in how much they love each other but the other realises that they dont love them as much as they love what they represent to them. kunikida to sasaki was just the azure king again and she would have made him walk that same path. and to kunikida sasaki was the girl from his ideals - not a real person he could actually hold or love. they would have loved each other and they would have destroyed each other and they are sooooo!!!!!!!!

theres a scene in the manga that was cut from the anime where kunikida gets mind controlled by an ability and the ability causes people to see terrible visions and flashbacks. its two years after kunikida watched sasaki die and yet his hallucination was of her. its TWO YEARS after and he still feels guilty over what happened to her even though she was dangerous and she killed people. theres a great parallel in the light novel where kunikida says that talking to sasaki makes him feel like "a puppet without strings" and the entire light novel, the azure messenger (revealed to be sasaki obvs) is referred to a "puppet master". the foreshadowing!!!!!!!

and rokuzou :( . kunikida has to live his entire life knowing that he had to watch a father and his child die with no way of stopping it. and neither of their deaths are his fault. but he will spend his entire life thinking they are. god :(

AUUUGH … this man is haunted by people he never truly hurt ‼️
