The very thought of you would soothe him but it wasn't quit enough to fulfill his other needs. To be able to feel your fingertips dance along his skin, fingers running through his hair, and just the words of affirmation coming from you.

• He definitely isn't letting this come between you two or make him treat you any different than he usually does though.

• He's your best friend before anything else and he already would die for you, so why should this change anything?

• God forbid you speak German, he is rabid. But would urge you to keep it between the two of you, you've seen how the rest (Pierson) treats him for speaking it and he doesn't want them to be hostile towards you as well.

• Honestly see Zussman having crazy religious guilt. Ignoring the time period and the obvious homophobia that comes with it that would make anyone apprehensive, I feel like Zussman would've been raised to look for a nice Jewish woman to marry (and preferably quick by his mother) so falling for a man conflicts him for a long time. 

• Talking about the time period, Zussman struggles with his feelings for so long, unsure how to deal with the attraction. It wasn't like he could confide in anyone about it or let his crush be known in any way, there isn't even any women around that he could force himself to concentrate on in hopes of his feelings shifting over to them, instead he's forced to bury them as far down as he can and deal with the constant paranoia of someone figuring it out and reporting him.

• Really wants you and Daniels to get along, like REALLY wants you to.

• On the other hand, Zussman tries to hide it, but he can’t help but feel a twinge of jealousy when you talk to someone else, especially that charming SOE, Arthur. He wonders if you know, or even suspect how he feels when he gets like this, which reins him in a bit.

• Is a mix between glad and embarrassed if you come to his defense against Aiello.

• On one hand he's glad that you care enough to try and stand up for him but embarrassed on the other because he was taught to defend himself, also doesn't want to get you in trouble with Pierson or Turner.

• Tries to stay near you as often as he possibly can, both during combat and out.

• The moment you're in immediate danger, Zussman’s heart races. Whether it’s an intense firefight or a close call, he finds himself charging into the fray to try and make sure you get out of there safe. He doesn’t always know why, but he just can't stand the thought of losing you. Even if he knows he can't always protect you.

• Makes sure you always have a med kit on you.

• Literally has more med kits on him than anything else for you and Daniels.

• You two are making him go grey.

• He will keep telling you the story of the captain of the football team wanting his watch, Daniels is forever thankful that he's not the only one who now has to sit through the story for the 80th time.

• If you're a smoker, Zussman will give you any spare cigarettes he can find or will offer to share the one he's smoking if supply runs low.

• Back to his not so platonic feelings, Zussman wouldn't tell you anything about them, this is something he's prepared to take to his grave. He would feel guilty for even touching you at times, even if nothing untoward was meant by it.

• But he will constantly 'joke' with you like: 'Think you'd ever fall for this handsome American G.I.? Kidding 👀'

• Please 'joke' back.

• Worries nonstop about whether or not you and Daniels are still alive when he gets captured.

• During his time as a prisoner of war, Zussman tries to hold on to any shred of hope like many others. He imagines you and Daniels leading the rest of the platoon on a rescue mission or finding a way to free him. His thoughts are consumed by memories of shared moments—those quiet conversations by the campfire, shared laughter, and the little gestures from you that meant so much to him. He clings to those memories, even when hope starts to dim, and wonders if, somehow, you know just how much you mean to him.

• When Zussman is finally freed, it’s a blur of chaos and adrenaline. At first, he doesn’t know if it’s real. He’s still dazed, his body bruised and exhausted, his mind can't tell if the gunshot and the blur of that bastard Metz collapsing was his imagination or not. But when you and Daniels rush to his side, followed by the rest, he hopes, the most he has, that it's real and not just some really fucked up dream he's having.

• In the hospital, Zussman struggles in more ways than one, not only with his physical recovery and the constant nightmares/mental toll but also with his emotions towards you. Seeing you sitting by his bed—your eyes tired but focused on him—makes him feel both comforted and conflicted. He’s grateful to be alive and that you survived too, but there's a feeling of discomfort in letting you see him like this, so different to who he started out as.

• You catch him staring at you more than once while he's recovering, his expression soft but distant, as if he’s debating whether to say something or keep it to himself.

• Still, he leans on you more than he’ll ever admit during his recovery. Whether it’s helping him sit up, distracting him from the nightmares, or just sitting in comfortable silence, your presence makes all the difference, regardless if it feels weird at times.

• If you bring him anything while he’s in the hospital—whether it’s a book, a cigarette, or even just a cup of coffee—Zussman treasures it like it’s the most precious thing in the world, mostly because he realises how hard it must've been the sneak it past the skeptical eyes of the nurses.

"You spoil me," he jokes, though his grin is warm and genuine.

HCs for Modern Day 1st Platoon sharing a house (throwing in my oc for the fun of it)

After 9/11, they all joined the US Army. They went to basic together, all Infantrymen.

In 2010, during a mission, they all were under attack and began to get surrounded. They all sustained serious injuries that got them honorably discharged from the Army.

After being sent back to the States, they all decided to buy a house together in Helena, Montana.

Using the new Post 9/11 GI bill, the six of them decided to pursue a higher education to start their new lives

Robert Zussman is in nursing school

Ronald Daniels wants to pursue a career in sports medicine. He helps run an after-school program for children and teenagers, being the football and baseball coach.

William Pierson is getting a bachelor's in Literature and Creative Writing, having written a book already about his time in Afghanistan with 1st Platoon.

Joseph Turner is getting a bachelor's in History

Drew Stiles, having been in college before 9/11 and stopping his education to join, continued to pursue a career as a professional photographer and plans to shine light on what is going on in the Middle East with his photos

Frank Aiello works at a high end restaurant as a server, but is in culinary school to become a professional chef.

Nancy is getting a bachelor's in Political Science and Homeland Security

Now to the fun: the house is almost always in a state of chaos

There's bickering, arguments (that Nancy and William have to separate otherwise it would turn into a full blown physical altercation)

Joseph is the mom of the group, he is the one often cooking and cleaning and making sure everyone has what they need, goes where they're supposed to go, and always lends a hand or shoulder

William is the dad, the stern, strict one that threatens to kick them out of the house of they don't stop fighting or lower their goddamn music at midnight

Nancy is the Disneyland parent, but she can be strict. She usually let's the four younger ones get away with random shit, and at first they were all intimidated of her because she was so stoic and deadly in the Army. But they warmed up to her and she got soft for them, but if they do shit that threatens their lives, then she's gonna kill them

They all face issues of being Veterans in a growing society that is solely dependent on the media. They face discrimination and hardships, and since they were all young when they joined the Army, they still have to discover who they are as a person

But despite the petty fights and the teasing and their differences, at the end of the day, they are a family and they will do anything to take care of each other

•Pierson is kind of guy who likes traditions,I feel like he would be sexist and homophobic

•Stiles is nice man but he's this guy who will gaslighting you in your relationship or friendship,he wants change it but he has no motivation to do it

Winter Headcanons

Headcanons for the boys over winter/Holiday season. Wrote this while baking Christmas cookies. At least I was until my hand mixer decided to go to heaven. RIP Emmy (yes it had a name). Christmas 2021-Christmas 2024. You and the baked goods you helped make will be missed.

Aiello

*Nonna is a darn good cook, so he gains a good 10-15 pounds during the holiday season every year from all the good food.

*Frank Aiello Winter wear- button up shirt and a knit sweater/cardigan (probably made by nonna). He’s a cozy boy!

*Enjoys pelting his family with snowballs. Even if it means bringing them inside if no one will go out. Usually results in his getting chewed out in Italian for making a mess in the house.

Stiles

* He spends the entire season complaining about the cold under a blanket by a fireplace with a cup of tea and a book.

* The only thing he likes about the winter is all the baked goods that allow him to indulge his sweet tooth.

*All he wants for Christmas is film for his camera, maybe a girlfriend, and for people to not interrupt him while he’s talking.

Zussman

* Turns out the cold does make the old wound act up. (Same, Zuss)

* Goes sledding with his baby sister and the kids in his neighborhood when it snows because he’s basically still a kid at heart.

* Once knocked the menorah over when he was a kid and lit the curtains on fire. For some reason it’s now a family tradition to tell that story every year and see how embarrassed he gets.

Daniels

* He’s a horrible gift giver, but he tries his best and that’s what matters.

*Burns himself pretty bad trying to get the fireplace going. Either that or impales himself with the fire poker.

*Constantly ambushes Hazel with a mistletoe because he wants an excuse to kiss her. She thought it was cute at first, but by the end of the season she’s sick and tired of it.

Pierson

*He’s the one cooking Christmas dinner because he wants his wife to have a break to go lay down or something.

*Goes all out for his kids by climb up and stomping on the roof with bells. He had a rough childhood so he wants his kids to keep the magic of childhood as long as possible.

* Definitely the kinda guy to hand-make gifts instead of buying them. He epically fails sometimes, but he tries until he gets the result he wants.

What a wonderous woman you are. Oh how Zussman adores you so.

"Where did you learn to be such an amazing cook?" It seems like everyday he finds out something so wonderous about you.

Zussman has not once been disappointed by your cooking. It truly is your special talent, he says.

He likes to look forward to every meal, and so he asks you well in advance what you'll be making that night. He can get quite excited if you're making one if his favourite meals.

Not that he can pick a favourite dish. He says each time you cook, every meal is equally as delicious as any other.

While you're in the kitchen cooking Zussman will most likely be hanging around you. Often he gently wraps his arms around you while you're working, and he simply watches how you cook with a smile on his face.

Turn on the radio while you're cooking and you bet Zussman will pull you away from what you're doing to dance with you. He loves slow-dancing with you. The moment is simply perfect.

Can you bake sweet treats too? If you can, my goodness, Zussman really does believe he's in heaven.

He lives for your baked treats, he loves them. He tells you, "They just so sweet, but not as sweet as you."

When Zussman is upset or stressed, sometimes he seeks out one of your treats. Your sweet treats can be quite comforting for him, as they always have him thinking of you, and he'll feel much better in no time.

When he was drafted into the war, Zussman admitted that he greaty missed your cooking during the time he was away; but certainly not as much as he missed you.

He often boasted about what an amazing cook you are to his closest friends in his platoon. Though it would always put a sad smile on his face as he thought about how much he missed home.

WW2 Headcanons [Short but it's something]

Zussman is the platoon's unofficial medic, he surprisingly has a lot of medical experience and has the empathy to help wounded soldiers

Stiles cracks jokes to lighten up the mood, but sometimes he tells them to soothe himself but he says them at the worst times possible

Pierson is a huge softie for cats; the team found a stray kitten in France that they watched over and fed, Pierson was found cooing over it and letting it cuddle beside him

Zussman likes to joke that Pierson likes him deep down, he's just putting on a facade to get through the war– it became very philosophical

Daniels would invite the boys over after the war for barbecues or family outings, they are all happy to be uncles and like to talk about their lives

Pierson voluntarily deployed to the Pacific for the final fights of the war

Zussman joined his squad after he healed as a field medic, he and Pierson finally got along and became friends

Turner is definitely the leader in trials, and his fate is "to shield them, protect them" but death gets in the way

Pierson is still the hard-headed TSGT we know and love, but he does show more compassion and is willing to sacrifice himself for the others

Zussman is their medic still, he knows how to patch them up better than anyone. He and Aiello often steal from realms (the Entity can't do shit, it knows those two dumbasses are just going to keep doing it)

Daniels holds them together, along with Zussman, keeps them motivated and reminds them that there is an escape, they just have to work together

Aiello can still be a pessimistic bastard but he puts in the effort to be a reliable team player since this situation is completely different

Stiles is still our nervous college student, he tries to take photographs of the realms and their moments in trial but the Entity's realm always deletes those captured moments. It doesn't bother him, he still tries.

Nancy is definitely the overprotective mama bear– a killer chasing you? Hide behind her as she charges at the killer head on, never going down without a fight (about half of the killers are scared of her)

Rousseau doesn't question life anymore, she takes it as her fate of being trapped in some endless loop against killers. It's fine, as long as she has Crowley and Vivian and 1st Platoon, she'll be entertained.

Crowley tries using intelligence for everything, trying to find ways to complete generators quicker, outsmart all the killers, find a way to escape this shitty purgatory– you name it, this man thinks with his brain and does get many things some efficiently

Vivian is the opposite of Crowley, she rather fight those motherfuckers headstrong then sit back and think of a plan– that's what she did most of the war and got a few good kills at those Krauts– this girl has a lot of pent of energy

Howard is their mechanic, he's best at repairing generates quick, sabotaging hooks, he has the strange ability to reuse fallen pallets, they trust this man to get them out alive and he doesn't disappoint

Perez likes explosions, so he has the strange ability to make explosions out of random objects within the realm and distract or stun the killer. He also boosts motivation in the team, often heard giving motivating speeches

The Boys Pt.2

***More weird headcanons about the boys: Bonus Edition! I replaced Daniels with Pierson and Turner in this one since Daniels is already pretty fleshed out. Let me know if y’all want more Pierson and Turner stuff.***

Aiello

*Was forced to learn to play to organ for Sunday Mass when he was a kid. He hated it at first but eventually grew to enjoy it. He still plays when the regular organist isn’t there to play.

*A great singer but he’s embarrassed about it so he mostly just sings in the shower or when he’s by himself so people don’t find out.

*Dad was/is an alcoholic and always off somewhere getting drunk so he and his sisters were raised by their mom and Nonna the majority of the time.

*Snapped his ankle the first week home because he he went jogging (habit from being in the military) and tripped over a raise in the sidewalk that definitely wasn’t there when he left. He only made it half a block and his sister found him while checking the mail.

*Chokes on his own spit on a regular basis.

*Willing to do pretty much anything on a dare as long as you’re paying him. Lick the sidewalk? Sure. Run down the street naked? Of course! Propose to a random girl in a grocery store? You bet ya.

*Despite the rough exterior, he’s nothing but a giant teddy bear that loves cuddles. But unfortunately for him, he doesn’t get them because he can’t get a girlfriend to save his life so he cuddles with his cat instead.

*Loves art. Especially making it himself but won’t admit to it. Mostly because his father “didn’t want a fairy for a son” and thinks art is emasculating (poor Frankie 🥺)

Stiles

*Looks like a cinnamon roll, but could kill you if he really felt like it. Thankfully he’s a pretty chill guy unless you push the right buttons, then all hell breaks loose.

*Taught himself to play the piano when he was 10. He plays even more after coming home because it’s the one thing that can calm him down when his PTSD is going wild.

*The record for ‘World’s Weakest Immune System’ goes to Drew Stiles. If someone with some sort of bug or virus so much as looks in his direction he catches it and is out of commission for a week.

*He’s a giant baby when he’s sick and thinks he’s gonna die whenever he catches a cold. (Man-flu, anyone?)

*Just generally not a good driver. He regularly jumps curbs, almost hits mailboxes, knocks over trashcans, ect.

*Forever cold. If it’s even slightly under 70*F, he’s huddled under a pile of blankets and a thick sweater complaining about the cold.

*Constantly chomping on bubble gum. He probably contributes to about 50% of the local store’s bubble gum sales.

Zussman

* Surprisingly, he plays the violin and is pretty good at it.

* He can twist balloon animals and the kids at Synagogue love him for it.

*Loves football. Managed to form one out of old crusty socks he had the medic stitch together and tossed it around with Daniels in their down time.

*Somewhat ambidextrous.

*The only one in his family that can’t carry a tune. If you told him to sing or he dies, you may as well just put both of you out of your misery before he makes your ears bleed with terrible singing.

*Got the only somewhat-tall gene in his family. Parents are 4’11 and 5’5 and he ended up 5’8.

Pierson

* Has a wife and two little boys (6 and 3) back home and wants a couple more. He loves being a dad more than anything, and is proud to be a better one than his own.

* An animal guy. As in ‘likes animals more than people.’ Feeds the strays back home in Oklahoma.

*Attempts to go sober cold turkey after the war. Doesn’t really work, but he does cut back on alcohol a lot.

*Blames himself for Turners death. So much so that he goes to visit his widow and beg for her forgiveness.

*Takes on an uncle-type role to Turner’s kids and tells them stories about their dad.

*Actually a decently good cook. His specialty? Chili.

*Mom was part of the Women’s Suffrage Movement, so as a result he was very much a feminist.

*Had he survived, he would’ve been proud to have some of the first female soldiers in his platoon in 1948.

* Left behind a wife and three kids, ages 13, 10, and 3. He wanted to have one more once he got home so his youngest would have someone close in age to play with.

* Sort of a bookworm.

Darling, I believe the stars in your eyes are much prettier.

Zussman

Stargazing is something Zussman certainly doesn't do often, if ever at all. Perhaps when he was younger he would sit under the stars, maybe to clear his head and think for a little while, but since then he's never took the time to stargaze.

But he never thought he'd be so content within your presence under the stars. He doesn't say much, but the longing glances and his gentle touches will say everything. He loves to wrap an arm around your shoulders and hold you close.

Seeing his usual cocky and suave demeanour subside into a slightly gentler side can be quite the site. Usually he's boasting about some sort of personal acheivement, but it's more like mindless conversation, and the odd pick-up line or compliment, as the night goes on.

Zussman is never usually so quiet. Of course, he talks and laughs with you throughout the night, but really he's just caught up on admiring you more than anything.

Deep down he's a hopeless romantic, and thrives on cliché moments such as this. Secretly he wishes you would both do it more often.

Aiello

He might have taken a moment to stargaze if he was perhaps out late having a smoke, but other than that, he's never willingly sat and admired the sky at night.

Aiello can be a bit of a hard-ass sometimes, but with enough convincing he will surely give in to sitting with you to stargaze.

Though he seems to be more interested in you than the stars. You'll see many soft smiles and little grins as he makes little glances at you throughout the night.

He's not the most affectionate man, but he does give you little kisses here and there. But if you want to cuddle, you'll have to initiate and snuggle up to him first.

Little would you know just how much Aiello enjoys sitting under the stars with you. He surely doesn't admit how he likes the peacefulness, and how romantic the moment can be.

Stiles

When he was younger, Stiles would sometimes take the time to stargaze, even learning a few constellations. But since then he very rarely takes notice of the night sky.

Stiles finds himself feeling a little bit awkward as he sits with you beneath the stars. Not that he doesn't enjoy the sweet moment, he simply doesn't know what move to make.

He settles on wrapping his arms around you and pulling you close to him. The smile on his face seems permanent in that moment.

He can either talk a lot, or hardly talk at all. Sometimes he's just content within the silence as he holds you. But other times, Stiles could ramble on and on about almost anything. It's quite endearing really, and you'll often laugh together about a lot of things.

Stiles can remember the names of a few constellations, and he'll quietly point one out to you randomly. Glance at him when he does this and you'll see a cheeky grin on his face.
