there is a LOT of brainrot of that au that I have in my mind which is why I always tag it accordingly whenever I post it here. this new drabble(?) I'm working on us just about him doing usual ginger activities and reader accidentally ending up retaliating. I have an illumi fic idea too but it funnily enough also involves the reader to be working in a convenience store like in dissimulation lol

ALSO ABOUT THE GAME. I am yet to jot down the story properly on paper or anywhere. I saw a few projects/games people in my uni made in unity which motivated me that maybe I can do it. I hope I can!! it would be cool.

I'll share the story as soon as I'm done with it because it's kind of related to the fantasy lore I've had since I was a kid (which is about a little girl who has an adult's voice playing deity with how she toys and "punishes" people for their "sins" but it's in a different context for the game). the reader made for the long Chrollo fic (unpublished as well) is quite similar too!

I've seen zuri complaining about only have grains of paradise to breed their hybrids irrc and whether they should risk it or not since they "didn't have enough" to buy buffies. Someone gifted them a buffy I'm assuming since they told zuri to check their inbox and zuri was like oh thanks you didn't have to do that. Wish I had screenshots cause I know this is just word but they have definitely gotten valuables from veiled begging in chat at least once.

Zuri expected to have a fairly normal life for an Umbraan- she’d live in the caverns her whole life, maybe eventually have eggs, and ultimately die. Maybe she’d have a premature death, maybe not. That’s just how life in the caverns is.

What she got was... not that. Being stranded on the surface, adopted by a Terran and Aenoran, trying to navigate a world she barely understands and a culture convinced she’s a nonsapient monster... it’s tough. The food is strange, the sky is terrifyingly vast, and the people have weird misconceptions about pretty much everything. She’s safer at night, but she’s not safe. She has to be careful to avoid detection, and she’s unable to ever go back to her birthplace. Kira and Graceida try their best, but they don’t understand her- not her biology, not her culture, not her native language. She’s feared, she’s hunted, she’s scared, she’s in hiding. She absolutely did not foresee any of this coming.

It’s not all bad though- she’s able to do things on the surface she’d have never imagined in the caverns. She’s particularly enthusiastic about metalworking- her fireproof scales and innate control over the element makes her a natural. she makes metal sculptures of the unique wildlife of the caverns- they’re not great, but she’s learning!

She can also teach others that Umbraan are, in fact, intelligent beings with a complex culture. She’s not doing it in person, obviously, but she has a blog and Youtube-equivalent channel- neither of which are particularly big, but eventually some news outlet will pick up on it and she’ll blow up. Zuri doesn’t care about the numbers, anyway. She just wants to get her story out there.

She gets homesick, sometimes. Often. But she doesn’t exactly have another option, so she keeps going.

Kisses (Alhaitham x reader)

Warnings: kissing (I got ranted on my inbox saying kissing triggers them and I’m here like O__O I’m sorry I’m just a writer), second person pov (this is not planned, I’m cursing myself because of this)

Note: I’m totally not reminiscing. Totally.

His kisses are not as magical like how those romance novels describe the feeling of kissing someone you love. Kisses between you and Alhaitham are not those kisses made for the eyes of writers and artists. Those kisses are not kissing on the dance floor after a waltz nor a kiss shared by lovers under the moon as if declaring the stars as the witness of love. Instead, the kisses between the two of you are secrets shared in the garden walls away from the crowd, hands holding each other together, eyes closed, and away from the world. 

    The more you read those romance novels, the more you realize that maybe those authors don't know what a kiss really feels like. It’s not the beautiful fireworks painting the night sky, instead it was a fire that ignited in the forest and engulfed it in a deadly fire. Tonight’s one of those nights with Alhaitham trapped you at the end of the couch. For a man who wanders day and night and watches those who do wrong and barely takes care of himself, his lips are surprisingly soft. The fire that slowly builds in his eyes rivals the fireplace that warms the room for the night. 

    His kisses are not like in the books either. He doesn’t card his fingers on your hair, his hands are on himself and will only hold you on your shoulder when he feels you getting away from him.  It’s not the beautiful fireworks painting the night sky, instead it was a fire that ignited in the forest and engulfed it in a deadly fire. Soon that deadly is not only on his eyes but on the curve of his lips spreading all over your skin as he swallows your breath. There’s no kiss that is chaste between you two. Once his lips are on yours, that fire soon will scorch your skin and then pierce you through your soul. 

    It’s the kind of warmth that lingered on the skin together with his smell. That smell of his will linger on your skin and clothing for days and sometimes it stays even after you wash the clothes. Alhaitham will pull away from the kiss and unlike those books saying that they will always pull away with their eyes still hungry. Instead his eyes held one wish for days that one future he will be able to kiss you in public without getting any of you two in trouble with your enemies. For now he can only ask you one question as he looked at your lips, “Can I kiss you again?”
