The Dreamstone (1990-1995) A British Obscure Fantasy Animated series:
Tumblr media
Back in 2017 I first discovered the show by looking at fanarts on deviantart and decided to check it out on YouTube and watched the episodes, I started liking it. The show was about the title itself and sets place in the Alternative world with 2 realms the Land of dreams and Land of Nightmares, in the Land of Dreams.. the main characters if the series are rufus and amberley who are apprentices of The Dreammaker, the Old wise man and the pet, Albert the fishdog to protect the Crystal “Dreamstone” from the evil wicked Zordrak, Lord of Nightmares.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We also have the other Antagonists who are Sergeants Blob, Nogg and Fizz who are Urpneys (species) that serve Zordrak, and the evil crazed Mad-scientist Urpgor..
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That’s pretty much all I can remember.
I honestly think that the concept itself is really interesting, and it was probably one of the Underrated 90’s Animated classics. I’ve haven’t seen it for a long time and I might consider rewatching the episodes again but maybe later in the future. If you guys are looking for something to watch or if you want a 90’s obscure to check it out, I recommend watching it on YouTube

The dreamstone
The Dreamstone is an animated series. This is set in an alternative world of Two Realms. One is called the land of the dreams and the other is called the land of the nightmares.
Tumblr media
The land of dreams:
The Land of Dreams is populated by Noops (the humanoids of the land, who live and work like humans) and Wuts (the defenders of the land, who fly around on leaves and use staffs with orbs of light attached to both communicate and ward off Zordrak's evil forces).
The land of nightmares:
The Land of Nightmares, also known as the dark side of the planet, is populated mostly by Urpneys, who resemble lizard-like human beings. They live in Viltheed, a tall black mountainous wasteland in which resides Zordrak. Although all the Urpneys in Viltheed are male.
This series just shows if you evil you will go the land of nightmares where is the dark side of the planet and if you not evil you end up to the land of the dreams, this kind of fits well because of the fact that my students will fall asleep and end up waking in the 80s, an with the the dreamstone you can only go to one land depending on how you are.

The DreamStone Zordrak & Zarag Rewrite Idea🌕🌗🌑
Zordrak's backstory. Don't get me wrong it's not bad, I just had some ideas for a Zordrak if he ever came back with more sympathetic qualities as well as incorporate his sister as a bigger part of the show.
Tumblr media
I love the part of him used to being a Dream Maker but what if he didn't turn because of abusing his power.
This also involves Zarag who I read knew the Dream Maker.
Tumblr media
What if Zordrak along with his sister Zarag, were both Dream makers. Maybe a lot like Rufus and Amberley. Zordrak more like Amberley, more realistic and grounded while Zarag was more like Rufus. A dreamer.
Maybe she was so much into her dreams she could even control them. A lucid dreamer. And LOVED her job to be able to give people the ability to have amazing dreams. Though like Rufus she tended to get lost, perhaps too lost in her DreamWorld.
Over time the more she put herself into her work, they all realized certain side effects of overexposure to Dream energy. And she was suffering from it. she grew more and more distant from the people around her, including her brother, Dream Maker and reality in general. She began to feel restless, that reality, compared to the Dream World was so limited and bleak. That in real life not everyones able to truly follow their dreams. And she felt that should be changed, at any cost.
With the power of the Dreamstone sue tried to merge both the Dream and Real world together, so everyone can be able to follow their wildest dreams. Ofcourse in hindsight trying to merge the Dream World with reality could lead to many problems that the Dream Maker and Zordrak could see but she could not due to being too far gone.
And in the process of trying to stop her, she herself ended up into the Dream World, forever(or so it was belived). The Dream Maker lost an apprentice and Zordrak lost his sister and best friend.
He pleaded to the other Dream Makers, including The Dream Maker to open it up so they can save her but they believed it was too dangerous and denied.
Zordrak in anger blamed The Dream Makers including himself for what happened to his sister, feeling they were too relaxed and reckless. It made him believe that dreams just brought nothing but trouble, filling people with delusions and danger just as they did with his sister, believing they need to end, this led him cast aside his role as Dream Maker and become Zordrak, Lord Of Nightmares!
And perhaps his goal to get the dreamstone isn't just to plunge the world into darkness and nightmares but also to find his sister or atleast make sure what happened to her will never happen to anyone else.
What do u think? I'd love to know💖

🌻 :D
When I was growing up I was a massive fan of “The Dreamstone” which I found out later was a British animated series. I re-watched it a bit a few years ago when I was in college and I found it was one of those shows whose 2 part first episode is really the best part of the entire show, unfortunately. I’m not entirely sure why that happens sometimes, especially in older cartoons.
The Dreamstone has this amazing premise that may sound bland on paper but really, it’s the art and character designs which really sell it.
Tumblr media
Basically, there is the world of dreams, ruled over by the Dream-Master (and his dogfish) who uses the Dreamstone to give the creatures and people good dreams. And in this “good” land there is a race of creatures known as the Noops. They live in a small little town around the Dream Master’s tower and are generally concerned with just going about making an honest living. (They’re kinda like hobbits even if they look nothing like them) which is where our main character is from. And then there’s the realm of Nightmares, ruled by the truly terrifying Lord Zordrak and his bumbling idiotic army (who are basically made up entirely of Nobby and Colon from Pratchett’s novels tbh)
The original pilot is all about Zordrak trying to steal the dreamstone and have the world overrun by his nightmares, and it’s up to our main characters to retrieve the Dreamstone from the Realm of Nightmares. Along the way meeting Pildit, the leader of a race of creatures known as the Wuts who are kind of like a dryad type race and appear half plant and half animal, and they ride of flying leaves.
It also has an excellent main theme
youtube
The first 2 episodes are all about dangerous adventure and honest threat, but then the episodes following are more goofy cartoony adventures, and the 4th season really deteriorates with plots like “Pildit’s grandmother is coming to visit and she’s really bossy” and things like that. (nevermind Pildit himself is shown in the very first episode to be a much older character, which is why his leaves are red and not green like the other wuts)
Pildit is my favourite.
Tumblr media
People have been trying to get this show on DVD for YEARS but I haven’t heard of it being successful yet.
(Some of them are up on youtube though, including the first episode which I feel is the best one)

"Zordrak is not alone in the land of nightmares. He is surrounded, protected and served by his tough, highly-trained and dedicated troops, the Urpneys! This is their commanding officer and chief, Sgt Blob, along with his two companions, Frizz and Nug." Characters are from The Dreamstone, an interesting series from the 80s, which is available in it's entirety on YouTube.

The Petrifications Will Continue Until Morale Improves

“And do they understand what will happen if they fail?”
“Sir! They will be turned into stone.”
“And then?”
“Their pitiful carcasses will be crushed into gravel, sir!”
“And.
Then?”
“Say no more, sir! We will not fail!”

Curse Me Kilts, Not Again!
It’s that time again! Find some space in your satellite box and get ready to record - every Saturday morning from tomorrow, Disney XD UK will be airing new episodes of DuckTales in the wrong order - and this time, it’s their fault, not the US’s!
Tumblr media
The channel is doing this really weird thing now where they air episodes of non-completely new shows in random order. (For example, Furiki Wheels is airing in the right order, whereas Phineas & Ferb are being thrown onto the schedule every which way. I personally recommend you watch Furiki Wheels, if only so that you can hear the awesome voice of Gary “Zordrak, Lord of Nightmares” Martin after all this time.)
So, it’s up to me to give the DuckTales UK fans the correct order to watch the episodes. Fortunately, the US has aired them in the right chronological order so far, so there’s no real confusion here.
[NOTE: If any US DuckTales bloggers actually know of any mistakes in the chronological order of episodes I’ve listed, PLEASE correct me. I looked up the Reddit DuckTales site and they seem to have taken down the viewing order of episodes up to last month!]
The Spear of Selene! Beware the B.U.D.D.Y. System! The Missing Links of Moorshire! McMystery at McDuck McManor! Jaw$! The Golden Lagoon of White Agony Plains! Day of the Only Child!

Note
if Dreamstone gets rebooted i think the villain Zordrak ethier should be voiced by ethier Jim Cummings (because the creator of the said he would love to have him play him) or Benedict Cumberbatch.
Cummings would be a tad more realistic, methinks.

Mike Batt (who gave voice to The Wombles in their 1970′s musical heyday) in the 1990′s wrote the music that inspired “The Dreamstone” a four season cartoon series about a land where the Dreammaker and his beloved Noops have to face the onslaught of Zordrak and his Urpney troops.
Unusually, he was able to get the London Philharmonic to perform the music (and he provided the singing for this track; “Better than a Dream”)

Zonas de interés.
Fuera de “Capital”:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Mercado variado: Diferentes vendedores venden diferentes cosas. Desde frutas hasta armas, es un auténtico desorden.

I'm currently beginning to watch 'The Dreamstone', a British animated series that has a massive cult fanbase and I've been meaning to watch for about two years now. Im only about 2 minutes in to the first episode and already I absolutely adore the design of the villain, Zordrak, Lord of Nightmares. His voice is absolutely incredible aswell, that mixed with the dragon-like design makes him a genuinely threatening villain (that and the fact that he kills another character about 40 seconds in to the series)
I can already tell why this show has got the cult following that it has.
