Nunja…. Jugendstil pur.

“What is your interest in Berlin?” It was the puzzle piece she had a hard time understanding. She could understand Elyse sending men to Basel to help her cousin. It was this massive undertaking that Wiebke couldn’t wrap her head around. “Do you understand that you are helping Arnauld d’Orléans?” [ @elysefz ]

Fireless/compressed air engine character who goes around saying “I don’t care how fast any of you are, you’re ALL FIRE HAZARDS!” and storms back to their power plant/factory/etc
#i would make the most sense as an electric engine since I’m very low maintenance and effective ONLY in the right environment#but just existing to cal everyone else a fire hazard and work in factories is also so accurate#photo is mine i took it at zeche zollern

The most beautiful day of my life!
4 October 1914
Autumn is already making itself quite noticeable: It is cold and wet and rainy. There is also a lot of fog. We finally moved into houses, it was unbearable in the tents. Flying consumes so much energy. That's why I'm not really angry about the short break. Our bird is not flying any more, the engine has been on another plane for days to make it fly. With this in mind, the telephone called me my leader Vogel von Falckenstein to the ADK. The reason and purpose was not given, I was thinking of a new order and was in great worry because the plane was not yet ready ... In the presence of all the officers of his staff, Exz. v. Bülow presented me with the Iron Cross 1st Class! The most beautiful moment in my life so far! Do I need to mention that I cried with joy, that I grabbed my chest more often, whether it was reality or just a beautiful dream? I am overjoyed ... The E.K.1 and for what? That I flew, flew constantly, even when the weather was bad. For having made the decisive report at the Marne, the decisive report before Reims! That I never returned from a flight without results and that all my reports were correct and important! I was only doing my duty, which forces people to disregard the personal when the general good is at stake. I want to be strong and, when the bullet hits me, I want to fall in the knowledge: "I have done my duty.” Prince August Wilhelm of Prussia pinned the cross on me. My hands were literally shaking! A Hohenzollern! I don't just know the prince externally, I got to know him as a person. Not in the ballroom, not at the parade, here in the field, man speaks to man. For weaklings, courtiers and sycophants there is only one submissiveness. They are not to be found here, where great dying makes people great! True humanity, the inner strength, is what I respect, honor, revere and love in the young Zollern. Not the outer purple, the inner royal type, the nobility of soul. Zollernart!
10 October 1914
Tomorrow we're going to Germany! Germany, my Germany! You, who aren't out here, don't know what it means to long for home! I probably won't close my eyes tonight and count the hours. I leave at 6 a.m.! So I can really see Germany again! How did it come about? The day before yesterday a pilot crashed dead for unknown reasons. He flew in a new bird, the same type, same series that we have. My pilot can no longer be persuaded to continue flying. He wants to get a new machine from the factory. We then fly it from Frankfurt or Cologne directly to the field, as rail transport takes weeks.

CONSIDER ADOPTING... THE PRINCESS OF PRUSSIA
elyse was always meant to be the heir, the promise that eastern germany needed. but ingrid was there too. born into a new prussia, one made great by her father and without any of the baggage that elyse already had in-laid in her crown.
ingrid was always a spare when it came to politics, and as much as her parents tried, elyse demanded so much of their attention, and they had an economy to rebuild. she was left to her own devices frequently and developed her own relationships with prussia, germany, and the rest of the family.
either by fate or intervention, ingrid and her aunt grew close. the queen of switzerland had a contentious relationship with her brother, the duke. how could she not? decades separated by a border and years of frederick blaming emilia for abandoning their people in their hour of need. and for what? something as mundane as love?
the battle had continued with their children, but max and elyse had been such an easy pair. quick allies in the nursery. as quickly as emilia and wilhelmina, duchess of prussia, had worked to solidify that bond, ingrid became another battlefield.
the duke’s death was a tipping point for all involved. elyse was thrust into the role of grand duchess, her glorious and prophesied ascension made true. she set off on a path and dragged the rest with her.
the kaliningrad affair, and the subsequent independence of prussia, threw everything for the family up in the air. elyse was clearly a strong but chaotic leader. emilia, for all of her support of pro-prussian policies, found elyse unmanageable and too much like her father for her tastes. so the queen played one of her cards, gifting ingrid with her own prussian title, one that emilia had held since birth, the countess of dresden.
elyse, still struggling to consolidate power and wrangle her nobility was furious. giving ingrid power of her capital, handed her sister power that elyse wasn’t ready to give. it’s meant that elyse has had to play nice with a sister she doesn’t really know, and ingrid finally has a chance to speak. everyone’s very curious to see what she’ll have to say.
name: ingrid (utp) wilhelmina zollern title: countess of dresden, princess of prussia age: 24-30 fc suggestions: madelyn cline, milly aldcock, abbey lee, grace elizabeth, natalie alyn lind, josephine skriver, suki waterhouse connections: @elysefz (sister), @maximiliians, @johannesgrunenberg, @niklausses, @sylvianes (cousins) pls contact: @elysefz
