Zoids 30 Day Marathon Episode 13: A Wanted Zoid I have always wanted a Bio Tyranno. He looks so cool and fun to play with. It's a seemingly sturdy, solid build that can be articulated and posed smoothly. And he's a T. rex Zoid that ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE TYRANNOSAURUS. Like, straight up just like one. The others have different licenses taken on the designs to accommodate their weapons and aesthetics but this is objectively a rex. I don't have one because they cost too much. They're overpriced. Bio Tyranno had one release in the Zoids Genesis line and that was it. It's not a RARE zoid by any means but is a serious victim of scalping. Zoids 30 Day Marathon Episode 27: Favorite Liger Transformation Liger Zero Phoenix. Not only is this one of my favorite ligers, I love watching its transformation. The way the Phoenix's body rotates to prepare for the fusion, the armor pieces clasping on to Liger as he runs, the cannons swiveling into ready position, the head of the Phoenix being the LAST piece to connect before we get a 360 spin into a roar and a flashy pose. Zoids 30 Day Marathon Episode 15: Favorite Fuzor / Blox Zoid While MOST of the Zoids I like are Blox or Fuzor types and there's a lot of options I could have chosen for this day, I haven't yet talked about the good old Gairyuki. This Zoid is AWESOME. It uses the same base as the Berserk Fury but was retooled to use a Blox CAU system that allows it to detach its armor and turn it into Blox Zoids that support it in battle. He's basically a fuzor. His other signature ability is to use the orange panels on his body called Ray Accumulators to absorb the energy from beam and particle weapons to power its own systems. Zoids 30 Day Marathon Day 10: Model Build Experience What was the best experience I had building a Zoid model? That's hard to say, I can't remember any one Zoid build clearly enough except for the ones that had problems and no build scared me more than the limited edition Red Matrix Dragon. Its main parts were done with a dark brick red colored plastic that looks awesome. Unfortunately, this plastic is very brittle. It's the same exact plastic Styluarmor had that snapped. It's fine in the big areas but all of the little pegs used to connect the pieces were breaking left and right! Luckily most of his parts used the better plastic. The Red LeoStriker is the same way. Some of his parts are meant to move but the pegs holding the mechanism together split. I don't even try moving the armor on his paws for fear I shatter them! These were scary builds. The Zoids are reasonably rare. Basically irreplaceable and deathly fragile. I'll never forget that. They appear in the game Zoids Versus for the Gamecube and are a task force of the Helic Republic that specializes in experiments and field tests for new Zoid designs, some of which are my favorites. Zoids 30 Day Marathon Day 04: Favorite Character Zoids New Century Zero is the anime I grew up on and has managed to hold its spot not only as my favorite of the Zoids anime, but one of my all time favorite anime. Period. Bit Cloud was a fun character who never ceased to amaze me. One minute he'd be seeming like a total clutz but then he would accomplish things that make you wonder if his cluless nature was just a cover. Then he does something else stupid. Zoids 30 Day Marathon Episode 28: Zoids the Movie So if there were to ever be a live-action film adaptation of Zoids, there is one thing I would love for it to have and that's live-action Zoids. Obviously not real Zoids running and blasting each other but to have some actual Life Size Zoids would be really cool, especially for the main character. The various studios working on Zoids stories put a lot of effort into designing the insides of the cockpits and it would be amazing to see that aspect of a Zoid come to life. Maybe a full scale animatronic liger head is a lot to ask but I think that replicating the inside of a cockpit isn't and will be instrumental to creating immersion for not only an audience but the actors! #zoids30days #zoidsgenerations #zoids

Zoids 30 Day Marathon Episode 26: The Zoids Shop Although a lot of the Zoids I have I bought from friends online, the main places I go to look for Zoids to buy are Yahoo Japan and Ebay. Yahoo Japan often has great deals not only on individual Zoids but on bundles and sets of Zoids. A lot of them are used but just as many are new. I pay for my orders using Celga, a 3rd party Bidding Service. I don't have to use a service to get Zoids off of Ebay but the prices on there are usually too high. Sometimes I get lucky and find a good deal. Online shops I use are Toy-Wave and Image Anime. These sites are old and don't update their Zoid stocks so while they have a great selection, the majority of it is all sold out. #zoids30days

Zoids 30 Day Marathon Episode 25: My First Zoid The Double Arm Lizard. Now I'll be honest I have had many Zoids before him so I can't tell you my first Zoid EVER, but I can tell you this is the first Zoid I've gotten as a serious Zoid enthusiast. This is a Japanese Takara Tomy Official Zoid that I had to order online and get shipped to me. I get all of my Zoids this way now since they aren't in stores anymore. I lived in California when I got him so unfortunately he's pretty sun bleached. He's kind of an off gold now instead of white but I think that gives him a bit of charm. Zoids 30 Day Marathon Episode 24: Best Soundtrack Zoids: Full Metal Crash. I really wanted to give it to the New Century Zero soundtrack but this game's music is so... HYPE. It doesn't really have the same diversity of track types and vibes that Zero does but, to be fair, this game is all about the battles so it's ok if not EVERY single entry is memorable but make no mistake, the battle songs will get you in the mood for sure. Zero might have more memorable melodies but the sheer force of power in the songs from this game... if you like hard rock and metal you will adore this game. #zoids30days #zoidsofinstagram #gamecube #zoidsfullmetalcrash #zoids #nintendo

Zoids 30 Day Marathon Episode 22: Custom Zoids! I DO have some custom Zoids. I did not make them, I bought them as is and feel very blessed to have them. Bushmaster Unenlagia, High Speed Type Mosasledge and Glacial Combat Diploguns are all customs made by Phenotype, a guy who once ran an online Zoids database. The Leogator is custom painted and doesn't have a special name as far as I know. I bought it off of Yahoo Japan and have no idea who painted it but it looks awesome! The Killer Spiner has slight paint customization because it borrow parts from another Spiner I bought from a friend. Zoids 30 Day Marathon Episode 21: Zoids Crossover I would love to see a Zoids x Kemono Friends. I love me some Mecha Musume (personification of giant robots as pretty girls) and think that Kemono Friends is the best series to do that with since all the characters are Zoo Animals turned human. It would be really cute and funny to do like a parody of the Zoids Battle Story where different Zoid girls represent the Republic and Empire, engaging in all kinds of silly competitions and games as a part of their "war". Zoids 30 Day Marathon Episode 20: Create a Zoid I present to you the Cannon Tortoise HIT or High Impact Type. It is equipped with the CP-09 Booster Cannon Unit designed for the Redler Zoid. Each component gives the Tortoise a 100mm Beam Cannon for mid range shooting and an Ion Booster. Attached on swiveling joints, the CP-09 Units are able to rotate up and down to angles that allow them to be positioned for the best effects. Using these weapons, the HIT Tortoise is able to make surprising bursts of speed. That is the Zoid's function. The once long range tank is now a close combat fighter, using its small size and increased speed to engage its enemies at point blank range using its signature cannon, dealing massive damage to their bodies. I got the idea from Zoids Battle Legends and Versus 3. Zoids 30 Day Marathon Episode 19: Favorite Game Exclusive Zoid The Blade Hawk is a special Blox zoid designed to combine with the Murasame Liger. It comes from the game Zoids: Full Metal Crash and is a special edition model kit that was intended to be a freebie packaged with the game (I had to get them separately). Full Metal Crash also happens to be hype as hell. That game rules! In the game, there is a variation of the Murasame called the SC. It has been unofficially dubbed the "Shinobi Custom" and is a literal NINJA LIGER. Murasame Liger SC is extremely cool, boasting advanced Stealth technologies and fearsome versatility with its deadly shuriken.
