Zildtober Day 11 Medisina ("Medicine")

My final (belated) tribute to the 1 year anniversary of Zild's Medisina album. The song is about having an unhealthy longing for "medicine" whatever that may be. Be it a former lover, addictions, vices, etc.. although the MV implies a former lover. I feel all types of ways when listening to this song. Definitely one of the heaviest hitting songs of the album.

This short comic took me longer than intended. Admittedly I procrastinated because I felt I had to make this one perfect, but alas that's impossible. Even though there are lots of things I'd change and add, I loved and had looked forward to working on this. It was one of the first ideas that came to mind when thumbnailing the series; it was like a baby to me despite only working on it for a few days. Love Medisina and mabuhay si Ziiiiiiiiild at ang mga panikiiii!!

Zildtober Day 5, "Duda" (tl: doubt)

Tried to edit the photo to match how vibrant the purple ink is irl. Really hard to capture purple colors on camera.

Zildtober Day 2 is CRAB! It should be Medisina, but I'll be saving that for last ;)

Doing my own challenge called Zildtober. Each day will be based on one song from the album "Medisina" by Zild. This one is "Isang Anghel", the first song from the album!

Lines starting from Page 2 (second image): Ayoko munang mamatay (I still want to live) Ang buhay ko na matamlay noon (my life before was uneventful) Paligid ko ay nag-iba (my world changed)

Page 3 (third image): Noong na tagpuan kita, sinta (when I met you, my love) Para kang isang anghel / Na 'di pumapapel (you're like an angel / whose generosity is unwavering)

Zildtober Day 4, "Dekada '70"!

Because the song is about the 70's—in a period of martial law—I decided to do a re-imagining of an immediate family's member's experience (although the money falling from the sky is just symbolism and not literal).

Zildtober Day 10 "Dasal/Kasal" (tl: "Pray/Marry")

This song is about unrequited love. Text on the last page reads, "Ikaw ay akin at' ako'y iyong iyo..." or, "You are mine and I'm very much yours..." :D

Zildtober Day 6, "Bahala Ka Na" (tl: Do whatever you want)

Today's song is about a relationship going cold. The title is hard to translate as there's really no direct translation but I tried my best to convey the meaning.

Zildtober Day 9, "Duwag" (tl: "Coward")

Duwag is a song about regret. Probably my favorite song out of the whole album. I had a hard time coming up with ideas for this one as regret is an abstract emotion to convey visually.

Zildtober Day 8, "Oh Lunes Nanaman" (tl: "Oh It's Monday Again")

A headbanger song about the Monday blues and the repetitiveness of life. In one of the lines, the lyrics go, "pancit canton ulit ang ulam," which is, "eating pancit canton again." Pancit canton is just a type of noodle, hence the noodles in the center.

Zildtober Day 7, "Lumang Kanta" (tl: Old Song)

The song is about loving someone through old age, even when all their beauty has faded. Depicted some lines like going to a thrift shop, leaning on shoulder, drinking redbull.

The second page was a last minute addage, so there's some sticky notes covering up certain areas, especially the text lol did not place the text well.

Zildtober Day 3's song is "15"!

Lyric written at top is "huwag kang susugod," which means something along the lines of, "don't be hasty" or "don't charge in." General advice to 15 year olds!
