a relieved groan eases into the air. wet strands of dark hair sticking to your skin and that of pale as he leans his head back into your skillful hands.

“mm, someone’s finally relaxing,”

“I am not gr - mmm,” another sigh of content as your fingers expertly work against one of the aching muscles against his head. another breath and haitāo is nuzzling back into your shoulder. smearing foamy soap all over your skin.

a hushed laugh leaves you as the warm water eases tense muscles. you had offered a relaxing bath in response to your tired lover trudging in after a long day at the resistance. messy hair, dark circles that put even a raccoon to shame and that low, grave voice that practically spoke for him — he needed a break.

needless to say, it was a mission in it of itself to actually get haitāo to agree. what with his vehement protests and assurances that he was fine. that all he needed was a shower before getting right back into his newest set of plans.

𖹭. and oh is it important to note that he is a vengeful reaper — revenge driven, and with great passion for his goals and getting to the end of them.

𖹭. to his allies however, the man becomes caring, perhaps not much on the exterior, but on the inside he displays it. a lot, and he will make it known through actions such as protecting those he holds dear.

𖹭. loyalty is important to him, as much as patience and serenity — finding a part of peace within himself, even though he knows it can never truly be obtained until he has destroyed the chaos that plagues his soul.

𖹭. as for his humor, haitao is. . . unique, often allowing morbid jokes and self-depricating puns to leave his lips. perhaps concerning a few whenever he does — it never really helps on his social awkwardness.

𖹭. he is rather emotionally constipated, never the man to be light-hearted and can at times become extremely defensive when he or someone he loves is being scolded. which can sometimes turn to blunt comments and remarks being thrown at whoever is degrading.

𖹭. the reaper never lets anyone see his true self, the vulnerable, broken and traumatized part of him — he hates it when someone does see his walls crumble however, finding it frustrating when he cannot keep them up.

𖹭. d’akar: an anti-magic material that can greatly weaken him if he comes into contact with it.

𖹭. extreme emotional attachment: while reapers may remind one of humans, they are not. they are beings with very empathetic instincts and have souls bigger than the average mortal being — a thing that has been with them since their creation. they become extremely attached to things they love and it may cause them to become erratic if enough they love is taken away from them.

and all while that is going on, he has another goal in mind — what is it, you may ask? well, you see. . .

why should he tell you? are you here to sabotage it? or perhaps, are you a bounty hunter, here to collect his head for the money his name has been put on?

he would rather not risk such outcomes, instead he enjoys misleading, giving false security to those who dare come for him. they make great dinner for luu’leriel whatsoever in the end.

Is Haitao afraid of the same thing that happened to shaolin, might happen to another lover?

⊹ ۪ ࣪ ᥫ᭡ Oh yes, Haitao is a very paranoid lover for this specific reason, and it is one of the reasons that his possessiveness kicks in so often whenever it comes to his lovers.

He can get overprotective at times, but it never has anything to do with him viewing you as frail, weak or just not strong or intelligent enough. He is constantly worried of losing his lover again - he still hears the grueling laughter of the scientist that killed shaolin, he still remembers the torn look on his face, he still remembers how he fell to the ground limp with a loud thud.

He does not want to see that happen ever again, and he will do everything it takes to make sure it does not happen again.
