*this is higher than the original goal I set on fediverse because I'm including the ebike and winter clothes and getting out of our overdraft (which is costing us a bit in fees every month)...but also this still isn't including new computers which we both need lol but this already feels like so much to ask for!

LONG ASS STORY:

okay so over a year ago i ran away from the uk in its entirety to stay with my internet best friend of over a decade in germany, because i'd been in and out of homelessness there for most of my adult life and just kept ending up with abusers (because that's what happens when you jump at the first chance you get to get out of a homeless shelter by moving in with people you don't know), and then running away from them because they tend to get worse and worse and eventually you'd rather be homeless again than live with someone who continually messes you up and ignores your boundaries and lies to you and bullies you and fucks with your health. and yeah after long enough of that i had zero faith in the system to help me or in local queer groups to do so either, because they're the ones who kept finding me white middle class assholes to live with who turned out to be classist ableist racist shitfaces who talked the talk but failed to walk the walk

anyway, this was not an ideal situation because my best friend was living in a very tiny (25 square meters TOTAL) apartment surrounded by asshole neighbours after also only recently escaping homelessness, but we both found our mental health was VASTLY improved by living together (see it turns out we're NOT the problem!! it was the abusers all along!!!!) despite the very cramped living space (we literally couldn't both stand in the kitchen at the same time and it only had a minifridge and a stovetop) and having to share a room despite NOT being a couple and having no privacy

but eventually that situation got worse and worse due to a literal nazi living next door who engraved swastikas in our mailbox and threatened physical violence on us (pretty sure he thought we were a queer interracial couple and was very mad about that), and things came to a head when he repeatedly called the cops on us for being too noisy at night (we LAUGHED TOO LOUD at gone 10pm omg how dare we) and kept trying to get us in shit with the landlord by making up lies about us

SO, we asked the internet (fediverse) for money to move, and managed to get enough to hightail it the fuck out of there (we actually left the country because neither of us like germany it's, surprise surprise, full of nazis) to a very cheap place in very rural finland where we can each have our own room and that we can actually afford the rent on ourselves but, being poor and desperate, we only asked for literally the bare minimum to move, and left asap, and got here with no furniture, no beds, no household necessities, no nothing.

we've been here 2 months now and have managed to acquire one (1) bed that we're having to share (again we are NOT a couple and the lack of privacy is driving us both up the wall) but we still need:

-a second bed so i can actually USE my own room that i finally have again

-bedding (inc. warm things before winter sets in! and additional covers so we can actually put things in the wash)

-winter clothes before it gets too cold

-a washing machine

-desks and chairs so we can actually sit somewhere and work

-a cargo ebike so we can get to the nearest town (7km) and buy food, rather than relying entirely on non-perishables that we can order over the internet (it's been 2 months since we've had any fresh food and that sucks)

-a new phone for roommate cause theirs broke

-a laptop or desktop for roommate cause they have nothing atm

-a new desktop for me because i only have access to an old shitty kind of broken laptop at the minute (one of the hinges is fucked and i can't close or open it without worrying it will break for good and it doesn't charge right half the time and usually takes multiple attempts to boot up and i'm scared every time that this time will be the time that it just Won't), because when i tried to fundraise for a new one like a year ago i was offered this and didn't think i could say no, but i am very worried it will break any day now, and it is Not Good for recording music on or making art or games (you kind of need to run the games to make them....)

we both really want to actually do good work and help the world, and i have so much creative shit that i want to get on with but that has just been like, put on hold constantly, for *years*. i have so many stories and games and songs and so much art and a whole-ass comic i want to make and just haven't been able to do ANY of it for so long! (i'm keeping track of all my creative ideas in a huge google spreadsheet that links out to google docs full of properly fleshed out plans for things though, so that i can get to work asap!)

we just need a little bit more help to get started and then we will be giving back SO MUCH, i promise! all my content is and will forever be free! so you can consider this an investment in future works that you will definitely all get access to! <3

Travelers Rest - my new post-apocalypse style BACC

A few intrepid survivors have found shelter in the old Shiny Things Inc office building. I decided not to start in a vault this time because I want to do a Uni subhood named Vault Tech and graduate a lone wanderer to set out into the wasteland after it's been built up a bit

The office building is set up as apartments and each of my 4 playables will get a floor in one of the wings. An apartment that big costs almost $3k in rent so they'll each get a few roommates to help with costs. This also makes the playables into group leaders who have to ensure there's enough food and furnishings for everyone, but the roomies can help a bit with gardening and crafting

The one cheaty thing I did was set up a garden in the lobby with 5 plants that were ready to harvest, the rest will take a few days to fully grow. I'm using the gardening mod so Sims will need to make seeds from these plants in order to grow more

After renting their apartments, all the Sims' money was taken to zero. Nuclear winter is about to set in so they only have a day or two to dig for items before the ground freezes. After that they'll have to rely on gardening and crafting, but these can be sold out of the inventory to pay for other things they need

September Sky Chapter Seven, Part 3

"Four, or right around there. We could probably even go now." Chad replied. I looked at my phone. It was three after all.

"Fuck it, why not? I could use a different kind of drink," I said, slamming down the rest of my lukewarm cappuccino.

Both of us stood up and stretched. After throwing our cups into the trash, we headed the short walk back to my apartment. His car was parked there, and it was just easier to walk then try to find parking on a Saturday afternoon.

It had rained most of the morning, but the sun ended up winning, and now the day was now humid and rising in temperature. Even though the walk was so short, both Chad and I were sweating. There was no need to go inside. I already had all my stuff. So, we just hopped into Chad's car.

After blasting us both with 'Starfuckers, Inc' by Nine Inch Nails, Chad turned the volume down and pulled out into the road. It seemed every vehicle I got into was having the volume problem.

"Do you have any idea how to get to this place?" Chad asked me. I guess I had more of a chance of knowing it then he did, but still. He knew me. There was no way in hell I'd know where some bar in Walker's Point was. I am not mister direction. I don't drive.

"I have no fucking idea. I thought you did. I can get us to Walker's Point but I don't know the neighborhood." I asked, readjusting the passenger's seat back to how I always had it. When I lived in Oconomowoc, I was in this car probably just as much as Chad. It was a running joke in our circle of friends that I could tell exactly who had sat in the passenger seat. It was my seat, and I rarely got it wrong.

"I have an address."

"What is it?"

"Uh, Seven Zero Zero South Second Street."

"Yeah, I have no idea." I don't know why I asked for an address. I barely knew my own, other than the street. "Call Alana. I'm sure she could walk you to it better than me."

"Good point." He pulled his cellphone and put it to his ear. A few moments later, he set it back in the center console. It seemed she hadn't answered and it was our time to figure out how to get to this place. Neither of us knew where the hell we were going, and neither of us were smart enough to go get directions. We weren't that far away from my home yet. I had the internet. At least we were in the neighborhood now. We were bound to run into as long as we paid attention.

Instead, we were supposed to meet up at four. Alana and her friend called us at 5:30 as we were still struggling. And both of us were frustrated. But even with us being frustrated and still being stupid, we were still laughing and enjoying the trip. Frank Turner once said "if you're all about the destination, than take a fucking flight."

Finally, we got lucky and found ourselves right outside of the bar. It's windowed wall looking out onto the street. A small handful of people stood around the door, smoking cigarettes and drinking out of plastic cups. Across the street was some kind of nightclub. On the street outside, we could hear punk music pumping out of the bar. We parked the car in the first spot we found, hoping and praying that it wouldn't end up being an impound spot. Chad had never had the best luck with his car in Milwaukee, getting a ticket almost every single time he came. He used to tell me Milwaukee wouldn't be that awful of a city if it wasn't for the absolute serious problem with parking. I guess I never paid much attention to it.

Our spot was about a block away and the walk was spent smoking cigarettes and still catching up with what was new and joking about what was old.

We entered the bar up a small staircase and into a packed hall for music and a crowd. The walls, where there wasn't windows, were covered with tons of old rock and punk posters and other memorabilia. Tables were scattered all over the floor. Most of them were already filled with groups of people. The bar wasn't any better, almost every stool was full. I scanned the place, looking for Alana but realized that I would have no idea what she looked like anymore. It had been quite a long time. Enough for people to change.

VERSUS MISSION 005

as VERSUS’ schedules slow down, KYUHWAN calls all of the VERSUS members in the living room of their dorms for a meeting.

“i know our schedules have shifted quite a bit lately. there’s less schedules and more time dedicated to practice, but with the loss of another VERSUS member, the company has advised that we work on other matters in the meantime while AGITO is in the middle of their comeback promotions. this also meant revising the company’s plans for a comeback too.” there was a hint of sadness in KYUHWAN’s voice, which was a rarity given that the manager was known to be spirited and jovial. KYUHWAN adds as an attempt to find the positive amidst the unexpected changes, “as you will see, your schedules will be a lot lighter but there are a few things to look forward to.”

CREATIVE SONG CAMP

“LEGACY has plans of releasing a special kind of show for V&A — one that showcases more of everyone’s creative sides. since your counterpart unit, AGITO, will be busy with their promotions, we’ve decided that in preparation of this project, all of the VERSUS members will instead be going to STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN to attend a CREATIVE SONG CAMP. in the past years they would host the song camp in different countries and focus solely on songwriting, but this year they wanted to expand to other skill sets such as choreography and mv filming. we know a few of you have attended something similar to it years ago when LEGACY had their songwriting workshops, but this will be an even more concentrated one since you will be meeting many famous producers.” KYUHWAN explains while giving them the details about the event.

starting from APRIL 22 to MAY 5, all of the VERSUS members will be packing up their belongings and travel to STOCKHOLM. when they arrive at their apartment ( where all of the members will be sharing one floor ) they will be given the schedule for the camp, which is scheduled from APRIL 25 to MAY 5. the VERSUS members have the option to take intensive workshops related to SONGWRITING ( LYRIC COMPOSITION ), PRODUCING ( MUSIC COMPOSITION, LYRIC COMPOSITION, INSTRUMENT ), and CHOREOGRAPHY ( POP/HIP HOP/STREET, CLASSICAL ).

during this time, the VERSUS members will concurrently work on their first project for their new and upcoming YOUTUBE show called ‘V&A’s SONG STEALER’, where V&A will use their musical and creative prowess to ‘steal’ some of the most popular songs and make their own rendition of the song. for the first set of episodes ( EPISODES 1-5 ), VERSUS will be ‘stealing’ TYPE ZERO’S ‘ONE ( MONSTER & INFINITY )’ and making their own version of it ( the genre of the new arrangement will be ROCK ). coincidentally, the producing team behind ‘ONE ( MONSTER & INFINITY )’ will be present during the camp and will visit the VERSUS members on MAY 2 to see and hear the group’s version of the song. they will give brief feedback on how to improve the song for the final performance, which will be filmed on MAY 5 as the last song for the camp’s talent show. the VERSUS members will be performing the same song live on JULY 27 for KCON LA plus the other song that they ( V&A ) will be working on, which is CRYSTALLIS’ ‘FIESTA’.

since the VERSUS members will be overseas for a few weeks, they will be given TWO free days ( SATURDAY, MAY 27 and FRIDAY, MAY 3 ) where they can use that time to explore around what STOCKHOLM has to offer. as always, if the members are planning on going anywhere, they must let KYUHWAN ( the manager ) know about their whereabouts and where they are planning to go beforehand. as for the rest of the days, if any of the VERSUS members are not attending workshops, they will be staying in the apartment and help work on the song project.

all of the content that goes on during that time ( including their free days ) will be filmed. In the case of the free days, the content will be posted as “vlogs” for the V&A’s youtube channel while the preparation process will be part of the first four episodes of ‘V&A’s SONG STEALER’.

V&A’S SONG STEALER ( FIESTA )

for ‘FIESTA’, V&A will be teaming up together to film the first part of this set of episodes with the leaders ( YEONWOO & JIHO ) randomly choosing some important rules for their new song arrangement. JIHO will be choosing the genre of the song ( FOLK, specifically KOREAN FOLK MUSIC ) while YEONWOO will be choosing one of the requirements for the song ( there MUST be a 30 seconds dance break in the song ). they will be told later after finding out the genre and arrangement that due to fans’ votes on LGC’s youtube channel, the song selected for this round was CRYSTALLIS’ ‘FIESTA’.

to help V&A gain some additional insight on traditional korean music, they will be visiting the NATIONAL GUGAK CENTER, which is the headquarters of korean traditional performing arts on MAY 22. during their visit, they will be attending a tour, learning some historical information, and partaking in music/instrument lessons from some of the masters of traditional korean music.

V&A will be working on this project from MAY 20-JUNE 11 and will be filming their live performance of ‘FIESTA’ on JUNE 11. for this song, V&A will be split into two teams to help work on different aspects of the song; DANCE TEAM ( to help with the choreography for the song / LEADER: JIHO ) and PRODUCE TEAM ( to help with the song arrangement / LEADER: YEONWOO ). in the case of JIHO, he will serve as the person connecting the two teams with his knowledge in music production and choreography.

honestly fuck off using the same word for just treating your child as a friend (good) that's used for sexually abusing them (bad)

My dad kissed me till I was 16 on the lips and to this day the only movies we watch together are sex based.

He treated my aunt the exact same way he treated me except we didn’t have sex.

He said I was the only person he needed in the world and took me out drinking with him as young as 10.

We did not have sex. It was incest. Emotional incest (also called covert incest) is a thing. I only found out I was a victim of it after my grandpa had sexual incest with me and my therapist pointed out the similarities.

I am telling you from personal experience that if your parent treats you as an adult and tells you about their sex problems and emotional problems and there isn’t food a lot of the time because he’s broke and asks you borrow your money and it goes in cycles of that and taking you out to dinner and cuddling and being the most important person in the world to the point you are so codependent that you are able to fill out all the paper work at the hospital for him at 12 because he’s two shakey from the blood loss because he’s suicidal and you earnestly tell him you will kill your self if he dies then that’s a problem.

If you love your parents that much this becomes the case it’s hard to see the problem because you love them so much, but the fact of the matter is that the person you’re supposed to go to for that shit is your spouse. If you treat your child like your spouse in every single way but sex that’s incest.

And honestly I am worried about your personal life and the fact you have nothing better to do than this and the reasons why you might be so defensive of this. Are you still trapped by your parents? Is your relationship falling apart because your parent is acting like a jealous scorned lover? Are you a kid who desperately needs to believe they’re good people? Are you an adult who treats you children like this and needs to believe you’re a good person? What is your problem that you’ve sent a victim of incest three different asks insisting that asking children for like advice and trauma dumping on them is a good healthy thing?

You can be your child’s friend. They can not be yours. That’s the difference. Children receive zero benefit from this behavior . Parents do.

How selfish do you have to be to see the examples I gave of sharing issues earlier and then insist it’s good to tell your kids that? Not once did you say “no not like that, I meant tell them that a family member is dying or that hour in a bad mood and need alone time” you said “actually shut the fuck up it is fine.”

It’s not fine when your parents need 12 restraining orders because they keep hooking up with people they shouldn’t and they see you as a comrade in arms. It is not normal to being your child to a friends house where a rapist is to protect them from a rapist (this actually happened! I was 14 it was her ex she lived in the mountains and they used me and my brother 13 being there as the reason not to rape her because “the kids are here”. I’m not saying it was wrong to help I’m saying bringing your teenage children there is BAD and they SHOULDNT HELP WITH THOSE PROBLEMS). It’s not normal to bring them to the house their molesters partner is at when they have a panic attack and insist you stay and say nothing because his current partner wants to stay and it would make it uncomfortable. It’s not normal to push them to see their molester two years after the fact to help the molester through their mandated therapy because it’s the responsible adult thing to do.

THAT is confiding in your children and telling them why things bug you and going to them for help and advice and having them be your friend is. THAT is spousification and covert incest. THAT is treating them like an emotional mental equal, trusting they can deal with all of that. That’s what you’re coming into my inbox to tell me is normal and right and not incest.

My mom treated me good. Our conversations were “I’m having a rough week I need alone time right now” and “I’m sorry I yelled at you I’ve been really stressed lately and it’s not your fault, you don’t have to forgive me now but in your own time” and “I don’t want to talk bad about your dad but when we were together he did the same thing to me.” THATS open honesty. None of that is confiding or going into details or coming to me for advice. The closest I ever got to giving her advice was “do you like this new guy” or “I don’t know if I should work more for more money or enjoy my time off with but we don’t go to that theme park you wanted.” That’s a healthy relationship with zero confiding or advice. Anything more than that isn’t garenteed emotional incest, I’m not saying that. I’m saying those are often signs to look into, and that more than that is at the very least parentification and still abuse.

Do you get it now? Do you see the difference in expecting children to have adult emotional capacity and sharing things you would with an adult with them Vs just being open and taking them seriously? Or are you going to tell me my dad was just trying to be my friend and send me more stuff?

During the pandemic, Selina was the only American broadcaster reporting on the ground in China during the historic anti-zero-COVID protests. She provided extensive coverage of how China’s security forces clamped down on demonstrators, filmed her own experience dealing with health surveillance and long government quarantines, and was the first to deeply investigate the extreme measures people took to flee China and its COVID policies.

DUMAGUETE, NEGROS ORIENTAL -- A romantic Filipino drama, love story movie sequel "Hello, Love, Again" shown in cinemas nationwide in the Philippines this week on Wednesday (November 13th, 2024). Late-comers after purchasing tickets online at 'Robinsons MovieWorld' cinema theater thru Robinsons Place in 'Barangay Calingdagan, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental'.

This early weekend, in his recent Facebook rant post on social media (owned by Meta Platforms Inc. [MPi]) last Thursday night (November 14th, 2024 -- Dumaguete local time), the group of student friends had come in late after buying food from the store, probably at the 1st or 2nd floor. One female security guard say, they approach for complaint in person for what had happened. The movie was scheduled to begin around 8:30pm. However, most reserved seats have already been occupied partially or in full, where its apparently a graphics design student of Silliman University (SU), who asked not to use his name for respecting privacy, saw his friends are Kean Andrei Bagaipo, Danielle Akia R. Acaylar, Genno Gabriel Rabaya and Alexia Reign Hernandez.

For those familiar about the movie sequel, especially if you haven't already seen the movie before. "Hello, Love, Again" is the long-awaited sequel of the blockbuster hit 2019 movie "Hello, Love, Goodbye". Directed by 'Catherine Rosales Garcia-Sampana' with starring movie casts 'Kathryn Chandria Manuel Bernardo' and 'Alden Reyes Richards', this new movie catapults off with the emotional story of 'Joy Marie Fabregas' a nurse in Canada, and 'Ethan del Rosario' as a bartender in Hong Kong. After facing so many trials, that included time apart, distance and the global effects brought by Coronavirus Disease-19 (CoViD-19), Joy finally gets the chance to meet Ethan in Canada. While trying to reconnect with each other, they quickly discover how much they have each changed. The movie flows out through their journey to reconnect one another into a reality.

The movie also highlights the experiences of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), shedding light on their struggles and triumphs. With a talented supporting cast including 'Joross Sanchez Gamboa', 'Valerie Norona Concepcion' and 'Alexis Maitim Garcia', HLA promises to be an emotional and inspiring tale of love, resilience and personal growth. Box office revenue generated between the Midnight screening and regular theather release to almost PHP570M (or U$D9,506,027).

In an overnight situation, the movie ticket checker at the cinema and his student pals would advance book 5 reserved seats online, where they can all sit together. On arriving a bit late for the show in the theater, however, they discovered that their seats were already occupied by some patrons. To try and fix things, his friends decided to switch to a different row of seats and put their bags on two (2) of them to save spots for the Sillimanian student and another friend.

"So, WHAT THE F**K is the point of paying an extra PHP20 (34 cents in the U.S.) for the "convenience fee" if the whole process is like walk-in seating anyway!? Naguba jud akong mood, ug nawala akong excitement sa pagtan-aw sa salida kauban akong mga barkada. Ang tibuok nga rason nganong gusto ko nga motan-aw niini uban kanila kay para mas fun and mas ma-enjoy namo, but kung mao ra japon na nga maglagyo mi, maayo pa tingali nga nagtan-aw ko niini nga nag-inusara!", Sillimanian graphics designer student said in Cebuano dialect.

On Tuesday afternoon (November 19th), our investigation team of OneNETnews tried to contact the manager or spokesperson of 'Robinsons MovieWorld' in Dumaguete City... But they have refused us to release both the public statement and a comment. This situation really shows how crucial it is to have a good reserved seating system in place and for theater staff to make sure it's followed, so that all moviegoers in the City of Gentle People can have a good time for all Negrosanon people.

The Sillimanian student expressed his disappointment and frustration, saying that he was very much looking forward to watching the movie with friends for HLA, and that the whole experience took away his excitement. He also showed understanding for other moviegoers, who could have had their seat reservations messed up, commenting that this may ruin their experience too, and he even extremely gestured angrily at the cinema company.

Showings of the love story film sequel "Hello, Love, Again" at Robinsons Place in this said city is yet being suspended for the time being, due to a controversial complaint from a Sillimanian student about late-comer reserve seating on social media. Until further notice, the only other place to catch a movie is at CityMall Cinema in 'Barangay Daro', which is located along the 'North National Highway'.

Cinema authorities and organizations in the Philippines, especially the Movie and Television Review & Classification Board (MTRCB) may be at risk to revoke by failing to comply the reserve seating issue, and to remove the exhibition of the latest romantic drama film. For now, let this thing learn a lesson for the late-comers, who were inviting the latest Filipino movies like HLA.
