it was almost noon, you had just woken up. as you entered the living room, still half asleep, you heard your boyfriend, zhengting, with his sweet, soothing voice almost barking at you.

- is that my shirt? i searched it for the whole morning! you gotta be kidding me!

you mindlessly looked at him, and sat next to him.

- and you’re not even answering? you stole my shirt. you deserve to die or something like that.

you stupidly smiled at him, wondering how could someone be so worked up because their significant other was wearing his shirt.

- why are you smiling? does my pain make you laugh?

you laughed silently, and looked at his beautiful features while he was trying not to laugh.

- you know, i had to spend the whole morning shirtless, he said with a little smirk. shirtless. so obviously, after a while, so… he acted as if he was thinking, as if he had a brain. after 2 hours, i decided to take one of your hoodies. and guess what?

- tell me about your problems baby, you said while trying not to laugh, slightly making fun of him.

- when i was searching in your closet for a hoodie, i found the one i had lost since 2 months! you’re nothing more than a filthy little thief!

you bursted out laughing after he said that.

- i stole your shirt because last night, my clothes seemed so ugly to you that you threw them across the room, and i can’t find them back, fucker, you said before smacking his head and stepping back a bit while giggling.

he laughed while rubbing his head, then he put his head on your lap.

- you know… everyone has needs sweetheart, he stated, as he was looking at you, somehow still smirking. but my shirt looks really good on you… he told you while he was playing with one end of the fabric, may i say.

Halloween with YanRen

[hello, i’m planning on writing a scenario for the np boys for halloween lol but i got sidetrack because i wanted to write this. not proof read.]/ masterlist.

YANCHEN IS ALL FOR DECORATING

and zeren just likes to see how happy his boyfriend gets and helps decorate with him

yanchen has cobwebs and fake spiders and anything that’ll make linkai or zhengting jump when they come over

and zeren plants a couple of tricks through the house for when justin or chengcheng come

(i.e. a fake head in the freezer, a spider that falls on you when you walk through the door, etc)

yanchen wants to go trick or treating but zeren wants to go to xiao gui’s party

so yanchen, using his baby boy pout will look at zeren

and zeren will be like “ugh, fine. but AFTER we’re going to the party. right?”

and yanchen will agree happily

yanchen dresses as a vampire complete with a hickie bite mark

zeren is a ninja, much to yanchen’s dismay because he wanted them to match

“bUT MY COSTUME COMES WITH NUNCHUCKS!”

zhengting does their make up and makes them take justin and chengcheng trick or treating

zeren tries his best to get rid of them but yanchen keeps scolding him

“look, babe. it’s not so much about if they die but if they die on our watch, zhengting will kill us both. and after wenjun brings us back to life, he’ll kill us again!”

justin knows all of the good houses to hit up and drags them along until their pillow cases are about to rip from how much is in it

yanchen drops them off then swerves off to linkai’s halloween party

it’s pretty fun. yanchen sees a lot of people he hasn’t seen in a while like yue yue, mingjun, guanlin, and - fuck.

zhu xingjie.

who is zhu xingjie, you may ask?

well, that was the ex right before zeren

and it’s not like they had a nasty break up or anything

actually, xingjie broke up with him because he was moving to america to break into the music business there and he didn’t want yanchen to wait around for him

that was two years ago and he’s been dating zeren for one

he tries to avoid him while zeren is off playing beer pong with shengen, jeffrey and yanlei

but somehow, in the mess of everyone, xingjie sees him and softly smiles

it doesn’t give yanchen the same effect it used to because he completely fell out of love with xingjie the moment he met zeren

but it seems xingjie still has feelings for him as he approaches him and asks for a dance

“xingjie, i can’t.”

“why not?”

“because i have a boyfriend.”

“it’s just a dance, yanchen.”

“it’s never just a dance with you, zhu xingjie,” yanchen snaps, crossing his arms.

at this point, zeren senses something is off and comes and finds yanchen with xingjie

he can see his boyfriend is uncomfortable so as calmly as he can, he holds onto him and leads him away

xingjie is saying something but zeren can’t hear it as they walk out the door

“i wasn’t going to-“

“i know,” zeren smiles. “let’s go home and watch scary movies while eating candy.”

so that’s how they spend the rest of the night - watching scary movies that keeps them up until dawn and eating candy that makes their stomach hurt

and yanchen knows that zeren hates halloween

he remembers the younger one saying that he was never into dressing up and all the scary shit that went on around the holiday

so he falls in love with him a little more as he holds the younger one in his arms

and as soon as they wake up in the morning, zeren rips down all of the decorations and breaks out the christmas tree from their closet

“it’s literally november.”

“WHAT? I CANT HEAR YOU OVER MARIAH!” he’ll shout over her track

and yeah, maybe all yanchen may ask for this christmas is another year with zeren by his side

STAN DING ZEREN YOU FUCKING COWARDS

“Y/N IS HERE!!”

You groan.

Well, you tried to sneak in? And you got all the way to the kitchen without them noticing, which is better than before, at least?

Emphasis on the word tried. But you know, it’s a little hard to sneak into a dorm full of seven boys who all have a penchant for sniffing out food.

Really. It’s like if there’s food within a mile radius, they’ll go for it, even if it’s raw meat or something gross like that. You know this because you’ve brought that in before.

Zeren tried to help you in, but to no avail. Xinchun spotted you literally five seconds after you got into the kitchen.

“Did she bring food?!” Justin yells, skidding to a stop in the kitchen entrance.

You groan, shoving your bags behind your back. “Don’t even try,” you threaten. “I know how to use the knives in here.” Zeren snorts as Justin takes a step back.

“And yes, I brought food,” you continue, taking things out of the bags. “But if you want any, you’ll stay out of the kitchen! Only Zeren’s allowed in.”

“What?! Why?” Chengcheng whines, joining the small group just outside of the kitchen.

“Because he’s my boyfriend.” You continue piling things onto the counter. “And all of you would steal the food!”

Zhengting’s voice calls from the living room, saving you from a chorus of more complaints. “Guys, shut up and let Y/N cook!”

“What a savior,” you mutter as the other boys shuffle away, not without much grumbling.

Zeren just laughs. “So, what are we cooking today?”

“We’re not cooking, we’re baking.” You tug out a bag of flour. “Cookies. Can you get the eggs out?”

“Can we please help?”

“Please?”

“Pretty please?”

You look at Zeren, nearly in tears. You’d expect sympathy from your boyfriend but he’s also fought you over the remote control before, so you’re not surprised to see him grinning at the side.

“Hey! Don’t eat the cookie dough!” you yell, shoving Quanzhe’s grabby hand aside.

“Too late,” Justin sings, a lump of dough on his finger. Before you can tell him off, he sticks it in his mouth.

“ZHU ZHENGTING! REIN IN YOUR KIDS!” you yell, hovering protectively over the cookie dough.

“THAT’S A LITTLE HARD!” he yells back, finally appearing in the kitchen.

Zeren takes your side, pushing his way to you amidst the group of hungry boys. “If you get E.coli from eating that dough, I’m not the one taking you to the hospital,” he says, sliding an arm around your waist.

“Yeah, I am,” Zhengting says grumpily, rifling through the cabinet shelves for snacks. “Eat this instead.” He tosses a bag of chips at Justin’s head. The younger boy falls exaggeratedly, causing another huge commotion.

“Man down!” Chengcheng screams, prompting a loud chorus of his words from the rest of the boys.

You kind of want to walk out to the roof and throw yourself off, but Zeren anchors you down, his arm around your waist keeping you sane. You focus on the good things. At least they aren’t trying to steal the dough now.

“God help me,” you mutter.

Zeren laughs, kissing your cheek.

“Ew! Zeren just kissed Y/N!”

“We’re dating, dimwit!” you snap. “And - FAN CHENGCHENG, TAKE YOUR FINGER OUT OF THAT BOWL RIGHT NOW.”

The offending boy stops immediately, looking extremely guilty.

But then Wenjun appears, towering over everyone else, and sticks his finger into the bowl of dough.

You let out a strangled scream of frustration, shoving Wenjun away and into the other boys crowded in the kitchen entrance. “If you don’t get out now, none of you are getting cookies when they’re done!”

A chorus of complaints follows but Zeren snatches the bowl away, leaving you free to body-slam four boys out of the kitchen. “Now get out and stay out!” you yell.

“Why?” Justin whines.

They stop complaining when you put a hand on a knife.

You finish the cookies in record time, mostly because Zeren is actually being helpful for once and because the faster you finish, the less time the other boys have to try and mess things up.

“Is it a game for them?” you wonder aloud. “To try and steal as much food as possible before I can actually cook it? Or bake it?”

“Probably,” Zeren says from the sink, where he’s washing out the cookie dough bowl.

“Do you all realize that if you steal the food before it’s done, you get less food later?” You raise an eyebrow. “How did you guys even get through school if you have that little common sense?”

“It’s Yuehua,” Zhengting deadpans, entering the kitchen to dig through the refrigerator. “It’s almost a requirement to lack common sense if you’re going to join.”

You snicker. “You’re not wrong.”

“Hey!” Zeren looks indignant.

“Oh, come on, Zeren, you know how stupid you act sometimes,” you snort, shoving him. A spray of water from the sink splashes onto your shirt, but you grin anyway.

Zeren turns around, narrowing his eyes. You back away, eyeing him nervously.

And then you bolt.

“Get back here!” you hear him yell, but that only spurs you on. You quickly duck behind Wenjun, who looks very lost, but Zeren’s a little too fast and manages to drag you onto the floor.

He then proceeds to tickle you until you’re gasping, in tears, dying of laughter on the floor.

“STOP!” you scream, finally managing to roll over on top of Zeren. He grunts, not ready for your full weight to drop right on him, and his hands still. You roll off of him, panting.

“Pileup!” someone yells, and suddenly someone’s weight is on top of you, squashing you into Zeren’s side. Then someone else drops themselves onto the pile, and then another, until you feel the weight of at least four people crushing you onto the floor.

You let out a defeated groan, not unlike the one you heard when Chengcheng sat on Zhengting on Idol Producer. “Heeelllpp…” you wheeze.

Finally, the weight lessens. You hear Zhengting grunt and assume he’s pulling people off of you. “This is your fault, Zeren,” you mutter.

“My fault? How?”

“You tickled me and made me fall and because you’re all idiots, someone thought it was a good idea to do a pileup.” Justin is finally dragged off of you and you roll onto your back, slapping Zeren across the chest. “I hate you.”

“Lies,” he replies. “You love me.”

“Ew! Zeren just said he loves Y/N!”

“HUANG MINGHAO, FOR THE LAST TIME, WE ARE DATING, AND HE DIDN’T SAY THAT, HE SAID I LOVE HIM!” you yell, glaring at the boy. “Which is a total lie, by the way.”

And then the oven goes off, and you stare in dismay at the horde of boys running into the kitchen screaming, “COOKIES!”

“They’re going to burn themselves,” you mutter apathetically.

Zeren laughs and pulls you a little closer. “Let them burn,” he says. “We can just lie here in peace.”

“True.” You snuggle into his side.

Somewhere in the kitchen, Chengcheng screams. “I BURNED MY FINGER!”

Zeren snorts.

“I knew it,” you deadpan.

as i mentioned, your families have been friends since like the jin dynasty or whatever, which means you really have strong bonds with them

one bond in particular was with your brother zeren and his best friend wenjun

the two are inseparable!

they’re basically brothers now

which technically makes you wenjun’s ‘sister’ too

if you take a look at your life you can say that wenjun has saved your ass A LOT of times

like that one time when you went to a party where this one dude tried hitting on you but then wenjun appeared and said that he was your boyfriend and he basically saved the day (or night)

that was the moment when you realized that you just don’t want him to be your pretend boyfriend, but your actual real life boyfriend, but you were also so afraid that if he knew it would be awkward for the both of you

so you just kept this little secret to yourself

“you owe me one” then he gave you his heart warming smile

you didn’t really know when that ‘you owe me one’ time will come because he literally has a solution to every problem he encounters

until one day when he knocked on your house door, you were pretty shocked to see him wearing a suit and ngl he looked freaking hot with it

when you finally arrived he waited for you outside the bathroom so that you could get dressed and ready for the wedding

good thing you brought your ‘good make-up pouch’ or else your make-up would’ve been a disaster

you two now went inside the venue and talked to some of the people you know there

while waiting for the newlyweds everyone was chatting with one another

wenjun was talking to one of his cousins while you were playing with his nieces and nephews

after a few minutes you saw that the five girls were going near wenjun again but you couldn’t leave the children behind so you just let him be first

you were so far away from them that you couldn’t really hear what they were talking about

but what you did hear was this

then he went to you, told the kids to go back to their parents and then asked you to come with him

“guys i want you to meet y/n, she’s my girlfriend. y/n they’re meili’s friends”
