╚═════ Zamasu and Goku Black ════════════════════╝
🔥 You heard your front door open, making you look upwards in confusion. Your husband, Zamasu, was currently out in Universe 10 with his teacher, Gowasu, to observe the mortals for the day, while three of your children were hanging around Romsshi and Kusu. So, the sound made no sense
🔥 Grabbing the towel next to the sink, you dried off your hands and turned around to great whomever came inside. The only people who had access to your home were the other Gods of Destruction, their Angels, the Supreme Kais, Grand Zen'o, and Daishinkan
"Pardon the mess, my oldest have been messing around with their powers more."
"Oh, that's of no issue, my love."
🔥 That voice was not someone that you knew...
🔥 Looking up in shock, the towel you held fell to the ground. Fear in your eyes was obvious as you staggered back. There stood a mortal, but he was not a human, no, he was a tail-less Saiyan. But this Saiyan had a far different aura than a normal one
🔥 Your back hit the counter-top as the mortal walked up to you slowly, his arms opened widely as you shivered in fear
"Who are you?!"
"It's me, Y/N. Your husband."
"You're not my husband!" You screamed, grabbing a knife and launching to stab the man.
🔥 Goku Black dodged the attack and gripped your wrist, pressuring it to the point where you screamed in pain. You fell to your knees as your two oldest daughters ran inside the room in confusion and shock
"Mom?! What's going on?!"
"My children..."
🔥 The possessed-Saiyan dropped you onto the ground before slowly walking over to your daughters, kneeling before them to look into their eyes
"Stay away from them..." You said.
"Shut it, woman."
🔥 You gritted your teeth as he looked back at the girls, raising his hands to brush their hair behind their ears. But, before he could touch them, a blast caused him to go flying across the building and through three walls
🍵 Looking back at the door Goku Black had come in through, you were shocked to see Zamasu, Gowasu, Beerus, Whis, and a similar-looking Saiyan standing there
🍵 The group walked inside as you tried standing. Gowasu ran up and grabbed both of your daughters, bringing them to you as he rubbed your wrist in pain from the near bone-crushing grasp the one male had on you
🍵 Zamasu looked at you and fell to his knees, raising his own hands to look at you and his oldest children's faces. He was looking for any kind of wound on you guys, happy that he couldn't find any other than the slightly-bad bruising against your wrist
"Zamasu, step back." Gowasu said.
🍵 The older Supreme Kai lightly grabbed your husband's shoulder, pulling him and his daughter's back as Whis bent his knees and held your hand, bringing his staff up to lightly hover over your injury. He smiled as the injury healed from his magic
"There, all better." He said.
🍵 You smiled at the angel and hugged him before turning to your children and husband, hugging the three of them as you heard screams from outside, alerting everyone to look at the hole in the wall
"Why you-"
🔥 A yell and crash made you look away from your family in shock. There stood the same Saiyan that walked inside the house, smoke coming off his form as he breathed heavily
🔥 He turned to look at you quickly, and he looked beyond angry
"You think just because you have them you're strong?!" He screamed.
🍵 Zamasu then stood and planted himself in front of you both. His eyebrows were furrowed as his mohawk lightly moved with the wind from the landing fighters
🍵 His right hand was then wrapped in purple energy, alerting everyone around to stay away from his swipe. As Goku Black sprinted towards him, Zamasu raised his hand and swiped down, slicing Black's own right hand off, causing a scream of pain to come out
🍵 Goku landed next to Zamasu and furrowed his eyebrows, he was obviously angry. But nobody's anger can reach Zamasu's at that moment
🍵 Beerus then grabbed Black's arm, gripping it tightly as to not allow the man to run away, raised his opposute hand in front of his face as said the scariest thing you could hear from a God of Destruction
"Hakai."
🍵 A scream again made you cover your children's eyes, and as they covered their own ears, Zamasu held you three in his own grasp whilst the other version of him became nothing but purple dust and then transferred into nothing. No cells left in the air. No nothing
🍵 As everything settled, Romsshi and Kusu appeared with your three other children. You smiled and hugged your other two daughters and son while Zamasu walked up and hugged you all once again
🍵 From a distance everyone else watched, but they also all wondered; why did Goku Black come after you and treat your children so delicately?
🍵 They were gonna need to do some more digging on this...

Can you think of a reason as to why the Goku Black arc ended with Zamasu screwing everything up so bad that Future Zen'ō had to erase everything about that specific timeline? Because even on paper, it doesn’t sound like an appealing idea for the story to just end with the villain winning in every way they wanted to, especially if you already had a potential ending that involved said villain getting bisected after a climactic battle with what is essentially a sword-shaped genkidama(genkitsurugi?).
I feel like they mostly wanted to show off Zen'o and his power and not get dragged down in more Future Timeline shit.
It gives a very 'this seemed like a smart idea at the time' decision.
Also show how insane/desperate Zamasu is.

Zeno has became rather controversial in this arc. so what is your opinion on him?
Honestly… I’m not completely sure what to make of him anymore.
I mean, I liked him at first. He had a neat design, he was simultaneously kind of adorable and yet creepy, and his interactions with Goku are interesting. As of this arc… I don’t know.
I mean, he presents a different kind of conflict I suppose. The guy is literally the top God of the multiverse and he could wipe out anyone just by raising his hand. There’s no punching this guy into submission to save the day, with him deciding to blow up any of the universes that don’t meet the standards that have been set for them everyone’s basically stuck, since none of the God’s feel like there’s much hope in reasoning with him.
It does raise a lot of questions, and leaves me curious about how the heck the Z fighters are going to make it out of this while saving the other universes aswell. Because there’s no way they’re not going to at least try to wish them back. Why have the super dragon balls involved if that’s not the case. I’m really curious to see where they go from there and how they manage to get the Zeno’s to agree to spare the universes afterwards.
I think it’s a good idea for the series to experiment with different kinds of antagonists, apart from straight up bad guys you have to punch and shoot with lazer beams and boom, the day is saved. Variety in the big threats is good and keeps things from getting too formulaic. The whole tournament is a bunch of heroes, a couple of rogues and a tiny handful of villains (Frost, Frieza) and just regular warriors who want to go about their business being thrown into a fighting ring and forced to fight for survival all because God is a careless child who doesn’t seem to put much value in the concept of life. That is pretty interesting as a concept, it’s suitably original for Dragon Ball at least.
When I think about it, Zen’o really is the most terrifying character in the entire franchise, just for how dangerous he is and how kind of messed up it is that someone with his mindset, a child who flicks planets into one another like marbles when he’s bored, is the king of the multiverse. Contrasted with a lot of his genuinely cute and childish mannerisms, and it just makes him all the more disturbing.
At the same time, I don’t really think he’s been used to his full potential yet. We had a slow burn build up to him and what kind of a threat he could pose from his introduction, through the Future Trunks saga, to the start of the universe survival saga. It worked pretty well, but for most of this saga he’s just been kind of in the background with the focus mostly being on the main cast and some of the other universe characters preparing for the tournament.
We see glimpses of him and Future Zen’o now and again, but we never spend a ton of time with the two on their own, I think there was only one episode where we got significant screentime with them and the Grand Priest before the tournament, and that was mostly about giving us glimpses into the various universes.
We don’t really get much into either of their mindsets, why they want to destroy the universes other than the idea that they’ve been wanting to do it for a while since most of them have fallen short on expectations. And honestly, other than just being the rulers of the pantheons of Deities I still don’t know what their actual duties include, especially since the Grand Priest comes off as more the one who actually gets things done.
They just seem weirdly detached from everything. Even Goku, who present Zen’o considers a friend, but he didn’t show much reaction when he was possibly killed, just some general interest in the stuff he and at times his son are doing in the tournament.
Which, alright, that all gives the sense that they, and probably the angels too, have a very alien mindset and don’t have a similar view of morality as we mortals do. That could be interesting, and is kind of appropriate for higher being type of characters.
But thus far, nothing much has really been done with it other than Zen’o just generally being presented as a loose cannon who Goku or any character could unwittingly set off at any minute if they’re not careful, but that doesn’t really happen until the current saga.
The two of them have just been sitting around for the whole tournament going “Whooooaa!“ and generally acting like small children. Sometimes it’s cute, at times their dialogue gets really repetitive and can be annoying. Maybe that’s partly the point, and sometimes they can actually be charming, but it doesn’t always work and can come off as padding when they’re just stating the obvious.
I don’t even know what we’re supposed to think of them based on how the Zen’os are presented. On one hand, the fact that some careless children with no apparent value for the sanctity of life and the power to destroy all of reality are the gods of everything is terrifying, and I haven’t seen anything to really prove that the multiverse wouldn’t be better off without them. Maybe they’re supposed to be villains, but yet Toriyama did set up the whole friendship between Zen’o and Goku and depicted him initially as really just wanting a friend, which was treated as a really sweet moment when he was introduced to his future counterpart.
So… are we supposed to hope that Goku can somehow reform the two through his interactions and friendship with them, teach them the value of mortals and they’ll go on to be better, less destructive rulers? That could be interesting, and kind of fits for this franchise, but we haven’t really seen any sign that that’s the end game. The two have just been there hovering above everything, and Goku hasn’t had much interaction with them for a while.
Are they going to do a plot at some point where everyone rebels against the Zen’os and the Grand Priest? That could also be interesting, I guess, and would give us an interesting conflict about how the heck do you defeat someone who can just raise his hand and poof, you’re gone? But again, no real indication that’s where this is going.
So far, they really just feel like they existed to get the plot rolling here. I’m sure we’ll see where this is all going at the end of the tournament, but for now I really don’t know what to think.
They’ve committed some abominable acts, so I could see them being treated as villains. How exactly you would redeem them is a good question. Extreme Blue and Orange morality applies, so you can’t exactly judge them by the same standards you would a normal person, especially since they’re just children that didn’t know better and of course the stuff they pulled is going to happen if you give all the power in the universe to some small children and tell them they have to run everything, perhaps? Is that anywhere near good enough, even if the damage they did gets reversed and they do a better job going forward?
Or maybe they’ll just go with the whole Grand Priest being the real villain thing. I don’t know anymore.
There’s a lot to unpack about Zen’o, yet all of it just makes me confused about how I’m supposed to feel about him. I think the reason he’s so controversial is because the series, possibly deliberately, doesn’t seem to want to tell us what the heck we’re supposed to view him as and just leaves his actions and role rather ambiguous outside of the fact he’s really dangerous.
I’m reserving a lot of my judgement until I see how the current arc ends and what Zen’os role is going to be going forward, and we have a better idea of what we’re supposed to view him as. A villain, a neutral but deadly force, something else? Right now he just feels like a walking plot device, and depending on how things are executed going forward he could either be an interesting character in the long run, or just a waste.

I just realized something: Zen'o/the Omni-king and Future Zen'o represents some parts of the Dragon Ball Z fandom. Think about it: they want great fights, don't care about "boring" things like slice of life things, never happy with episodes that has little fighting, not caring about characters' drives or motivations, and wanting to 'cancel' things that don't live up to the hype.
Hahaha, kinda. They seem to think any character not Goku or Vegeta-tier is a waste of time and space and have advocated getting rid of them, and the Omni-kings are wiping out any “losers”, so…Hmm. Maybe that’s the point?

Champa🧨fluff?
DBS! Champa Fluff Quote ; "Why Them?"
Character: Champa (Dragon Ball Super) Requester: 🧨Anon A/N: You are now 🧨Anon. Now, enjoy <3 ⚠️ Spoilers/Trigger Warnings for: Pure fluff for our chonky god of destruction ⚠️ P.S: The Reader is like Champa (a cat), but is based on a Birman
╔══════════════════════════════════════════╗
╚═════ Champa ══════════════════════════════╝
🧨 You and Champa had been together for many years, about 2 million to be exact. How have you lived so long? You may be asking. Well, you were blessed with immortality and forever youth by Zen'o, who began to see you as a motherly-figure centuries prior and wanted you to be by his side forever
🧨 You were by no means as powerful as the young Omni-King, but you could pack a punch with your shapeshifting and time-manipulation abilities. And that was one thing that Champa admired about you, your strength
🧨 When he first asked you out, you were shell-shocked. You were close to many of the Gods, creation or destruction, but you never expected that one would like you in any way beyond the friend-zone
🧨 Due to the shock and uncertainty, you said you would go out with him, but it was not the start of a relationship. You wanted to make sure that your feelings were aligned with his own, to which he was fine with
🧨 Champa had taken you to get something to eat back in his universe, Universe 6. You found the universe to be sad and beautiful looking in a unique mix, and the people who made you both your food were happy that they did well. They didn't want their planet destroyed because of a mishap...
🧨 He doesn't admit it, but he acts a lot like Beerus in his own ways. Such as; they do not like it when their S/O is not happy, it makes them either uncomfortable (due to not comforting others in the past) or they panic because of said issue
🧨 Speaking of Beerus, it was a very fun first meeting. And I mean that
🧨 Champa had mentioned the other cat many times, to which you always smiled and swayed your tail in interest. You weren't that close to Beerus, he was more of a loner out of the other Destruction Gods, but, with Champa's help, you wanted to get to know the purple feline
🧨 You both had arrived in Universe 7, and you were overjoyed to see Goku and his oldest son, Gohan. They both grew up in such horrible situations, and witnessed so many tragedies, but that didn't stop them from being good people, which you admired so much
🧨 Your boyfriend was not amused to see how close you were to the two, so, in his natural jealous-state, he was walked up behind you and hugged you from behind. Smiling as your ears puckered up and your pupils went from wide to normal as he nuzzled into your neck
"Wait-wait-wait! Are you guys?!" Goku asked, a giddy jump coming out.
"You'd be correct. But don't tell Beerus yet, we'll tell him later." You replied, feeling Champa nod in your neck as you chuckled.
"Your secret is safe with us, right Dad?" Gohan asked, looking at Goku, whom just nodded and smiled before running off to his daughter-in-law, Videl, and granddaughter, Pan.
🧨 The rest of the day went well, even when Beerus and Whis arrived, which made you feel more at ease, but felt more anxiety settle in your mind
🧨 Champa had told you that he was going to speak with his brother alone, saying it was more of a brother-to-brother thing to explain. To which you nodded and continued to play around with Pan
🧨 Beerus was laying in a hammock that was set up by the shade when he heard his brother approaching him. He opened his eyes and sighed, sitting up to ask his brother what he wanted
"I just wanted you to know what me and Y/N stand at. You are my brother... somehow..."
"I should be saying that. And if it's that you're dating, I know. Goku wouldn't stop raving about it earlier."
"That little- wait. You're not mad?"
"I don't really care, to be honest. But, I need to ask you one thing."
"What?"
"Why them?"
🧨 Looking over at you as you picked Pan up and tossed her in the air towards Piccolo, who was waiting to catch her and toss her up to Goku then back down and up again in a telephone-game set-up
"Why anyone else when they exist?"

since we got a preview of it what do you think of zeno's dub voice?
I love it!
He sounds like a real kid, yet the voice also has a bit of a creepy vibe to it that suits the character just perfectly. They picked a really great voice actor for the role.

what do you think of some of the comedic changes in the dub, such as beerus reacting to zen'o calling him or the I forgot my tractor line?
Those I don't mind so much as they're still in the spirit of the scene they appear in, and used in moments meant to be that sort of comedic.

Food for thought: Zen'o/the Omni-king and his future self represents some parts of the Dragon Ball fandom. The parts that care more about great fight scenes and gets bored quick when fights end too fast or/and there is little to no fighting.
hahahahahaha
oh that’s great
Are people actually like that, though? I feel like I spend too much time with the reasonable parts of the fandom, I forget everyone else exists.
