Kallura Secret Santa: Summer Christmas
Summary: Keith and Allura wanted to make their first Christmas with their children special to spend with family and friends. They wanted everything to be perfect. Just way they had planned it. Well, almost everything.
A/N: Merry Christmas and have a wonderful New Year!! Here’s my @kallurasecretsanta gift for @myshippyfanart!!
The prompt you have given me was a bit confusing to me so i came up with this. I hope you like what I have written. This is a family Summer Christmas fic. I hope you like it. I added my OC, Kaela, younger sister of Keith, just to clear the confusion. And sorry for the delay! Merry Christmas!
It was a lovely day in Earth with everyone were preparing for Christmas. It was a nice and warm summer Christmas. Everyone was excited to spend their time with family and friends. Keith had taken his family to his old shack, now turned into a bigger house in the desert for the Christmas holiday to spend the holiday with their family and friends. Speaking of which, he had finally finished decorating the Christmas tree with his kids, Kiara and Alfor the second.
“Papa, this looks amazing!” Kiara exclaimed excitedly as she twirled in her little purple summer dress that her aunt had made for her.
“But it is missing something.” Alfor said as he looked at the tree.
“It’s missing a star. Kids, why don’t you go to the attic and look for it? I am sure my baby sister needs help with the cooking.” Keith smiled and watched his children making their way to the attic to find the Christmas star for their tree.
Keith went to the kitchen and saw his younger sister was singing a song while cooking their meals for their Christmas party. He looked over the table and saw a turkey and chicken on the table. They were brilliantly cooked. “Oh, Keith. Hi, I am just gonna start with the dessert.” Kaela said as she wiped the sweat from her forehead.
“Maybe you should rest up. I can take over. Allura is just outside with James.” Keith smiled.
“Nope. You said that I should do the cooking. Can you get James in here? He will be helping me with the cooking. Take this opportunity to spend time with Allura.” Kaela said as she stopped her older brother from going into the kitchen.
“But… the kids...” Keith said as he was being pushed by his sister.
“No buts and get your wife and have fun!” Kaela grunted as she tried to push him towards the door but Keith was leaning on her. “Can’t you go any faster?”
“Oh no! Gravity is increasing on me!” Keith said dramatically as he kept on leaning on his sister.
“No, it’s not!” Kaela exclaimed as she gritted her teeth.
“What are you guys doing?” The two siblings looked at the two children behind them. Kaela let Keith fall backwards, making Keith have a sore back and he glared at her. Kaela just put up a wide grin at him before she turned to the children.
“Oh, just trying to get your father to spend the time with your mother. You guys are going to help me and Uncle James with cooking all of the Christmas food.” Kaela said with a smile.
“Ooh, can we make a cake?” Kiara asked in excitement.
“Can we make a Christmas tree cake? Or gingerbread house?” Alfor asked as he saw Allura and James coming inside.
“What’s going on?” James asked.
“Babe, we are going to stay with the kids cooking our Christmas dinner and the cakes. Meanwhile Allura and Keith are going to spend their time alone.” Kaela winked at him.
“Oh, of course, I’ll help you, honey.” James smiled, agreeing to what Kaela is referring to. Keith could have sworn that his younger sister was planning on something with making Keith go on a Christmas date with Allura. Which he would love to go.
(~)
Allura got all dressed up with the kids were with James, Kaela and Keith outside of the house. Kosmo was watching over the kids on high alert. “You sure you guys can handle things here with the meals and everything?” Keith asked the new couple.
“I’m sure we can handle it. You two just go and have a date. Have fun as your sister was saying.” James said as he had his arm around Kaela’s waist.
“Alright. I am just making sure. And just to let you all know that the others will be here later tonight. So we’ll be back by 5pm. Got it?” Keith asked as he eyed his sister.
“Okay, clear as crystal. Now go and get your um, well, uh, butt out there.” Kaela said as she saw the kids coming over and hugging their father’s leg.
“Papa, have fun with Mama.” Alfor smiled.
“And be back soon.” Kiara smiled as Keith hugged both of his children with James and Kaela watching as they looked at the wonderful family in front of them.
“Okay, darling, I’m ready.” Allura called out to her husband as she wore a red and gold summer dress.
“W-Wow, you look beautiful.” Keith complimented with a loving smile as Allura smiled fondly at her husband. Allura said her goodbyes to the children as they prepared to go to the mall in the car.
As the husband and wife were gone. Kaela grinned and the two kids grinned as well. “Let’s get cooking!” Alfor exclaimed excitedly.
(~)
Keith drove all the way to the city and parked the car in the parking. Allura could see all kinds of Christmas decorations all over the place. Her face lit up every time she sees a sparkly decorative on the walls and on the windows.
“Oh, this place is magical! What do you call this place again?” Allura asked as she held onto Keith’s hand tightly.
“It’s called a shopping mall or market. It’s a place where you buy stuff you’d like to buy for Christmas.” Keith explained. “Or basically anything on any day.”
“Oh, I see. It is something familiar to Altea. And also in Zelza.” Allura said. “Maybe next Christmas we all should being the kids to her home planet.”
“Maybe, but she’s always busy for Christmas over there.” Keith reminded her.
“That’s right. Maybe next time.” Allura said with a warm smile. “Then we must not waste our time here. Let’s go!” She pulled Keith along the mall as they walked past shops.
They all went into the shops, thinking they could get something for their family and friends. Keith was thinking to give something to the kids while Allura was looking at the shiny figurines in a shop which Keith had to explain about the expensive breakable vases and jewellery.
Keith and Allura came across a gift shop for kids. Keith had found some books that he might read to his kids as well as Allura who had seen many toys they could play with, but as they gotten older, they are more leaning into reading more books, just like their Aunt Kaela.
Last Christmas, they all had a Christmas inside the house since everyone were busy during those times. It was just four of them celebrating for the summer holidays.
(~)
Kaela was finishing up cooking the delicious pasta with James helping the kids to bake the cake. She looked over at James who was seemingly having fun with the kids. He was a natural with them. She loved seeing the soft side from him.
She was wondering if she could have kids of her own. She wanted to have kids for so long, but she doesn’t even know if James would want to have kids. Maybe he isn’t ready yet? Or maybe he doesn’t want to have a family of his own?
“Auntie Kae-Kae, the pasta!” Alfor cried out to her. Kaela panicked as she turned off the stove before the pasta can be burnt. She checked it and it was saved in time.
“Babe, you okay?” James asked as he took over to cook.
“I’m fine. Just thinking of my brother and Allura. They should be getting here soon since the others are going to be here. And Hunk will be cooking more meals with me tonight for the Christmas dinner.” Kaela replied as she set up the table with her niece and nephew.
(~)
“Darling, you think this suits her? Kaela would love this.” Allura said to Keith who was looking at the item.
“I’m not really sure, Lu. I mean, she has lots of jewellery back in Zelza.” Keith said to his wife.
“Well, she should at least have a gift from the both of us along with the kids. She must have a gift.” Allura said. Keith smiled fondly and let her buy a Christmas gift for Kaela. Keith had already bought a Christmas gift for Allura, but he wants to give it to her after the Christmas dinner. After Kaela and James can take the kids with them to their apartment in the city.
Keith looked at the new fitted crown that was in the large black velvet box in his shopping bag. He looked over at Allura who was still looking for a gift for her new sister-in-law. She was looking at the necklace section and earring section.
She has been searching for the perfect present for Kaela for almost half an hour. “Allura, how about we take a break? Let’s go eat somewhere together then we can find a gift for Kaela.” Keith suggested as he held her hand.
“I suppose that is a good plan.” Allura smiled. “Let’s go!”
They both entered into a nice and quiet café with Keith ordering some food as Allura looked at the Christmas decorations all over the place. “This places looks wonderful darling.”
“Yes, it is. It’s Kaela’s suggestion for us to go to.” Keith said with a smile.
“Oh, well we have to thank her for that. This place looks beautiful. I love the chandelier and the candles.” Allura smiled cheerfully as she held her hands. “Oh it has been a while since we have been in such nice places.”
Keith smiled and held her hands tightly across the table with nice tea coming along on the table. “It is nice. I should let Kaela pick out some great places for us to spend time together.”
Allura giggled. “Yes, she should. Ironic that Kaela doesn’t live here, she managed to find great places for us for a perfect summer Christmas date.”
“Speaking of which, we should get home in an hour.” Keith said as he looked at the clock.
“Yes, the others will be there soon.” Allura said as she bite a piece of a cheesecake on the plate. “Should we check on them? Just to make sure?”
“Yeah, let’s do that.” Keith agreed as he got his phone out.
(~)
Kaela finished cooking the main meal and James let Hunk and Shay come inside the house with extra food. Lance was trying to help out in cooking some food until he had burnt the second batch of the cookies.
“LANCE! YOU IDIOT! YOU ARE DESTROYING THEIR KITCHEN!” Kaela shouted at Lance and punched him on the head.
“S-Sorry, I was trying to help!” Lance exclaimed as he rubbed his head.
“Oh, Keith is gonna kill me for this.” Kaela said as she saw the mess in the kitchen.
“And the cookies are burnt. You can cook pancakes well, Lance but not bake cookies well.” Pidge said as she patted him on the back. “You tried your best, honey.”
Hunk came in the rescue with the kids helping him and James said to Kaela that Keith is calling. She reluctantly take the phone and went upstairs in the spare room. “H-Hey, Keith, how’s your Christmas date?” Kaela asked.
“It’s going great. How’s everything over there?” Keith asked.
“It’s…. going great.” Kaela replied as she remembered that Lance tried to help with the cooking and spilled some sauce all over the floor. Then got the cookies all burnt that was meant for everyone to eat for dessert.
“You don’t seem very sure about it.” Keith said with Allura raising an eyebrow in confusion as she stopped sipping some cold chocolate shake. She gestured Keith to give her the phone.
“Kaela, are the kids alright?” Allura asked.
“Yup, they are alright. They are helping Hunk with the food. Hunk, Shay, Lance and Pidge are all here now.” Kaela replied.
“Oh that’s lovely. Is Krolia there?” Allura asked.
“Not yet. She says she might come late tonight.” Kaela replied as she went down stairs and saw that disaster broke loose with James trying to calm Lance down. Her eyes twitched as well as Pidge. “Uh, Lu, I’m gonna have to call you back, bye!”
(~)
Allura frowned and looked at Keith concernedly. “That was strange.”
“I’m sure everything’s fine.” Keith assured her. “Now we can enjoy our date before our Christmas dinner with the others.”
Allura smiled affectionately. “You’re right. I should be overly worried about this. She is Kaela. She can take care of things.” She put down the phone down and enjoyed her time with Keith in the café.
“She’d make a great mother someday.” Keith said with a smile.
“Hmm, judging by how she handle the kids, she would to.” Allura giggled.
Keith joined her as they both laughed. “When we were kids, Dad would tease her about being a mother one time in Christmas.”
“Oh, did you celebrate Christmas like how we are doing right now?” Allura asked in curiosity.
“No, not really. But one time it was hot, we played outside with the water hose to keep us cool from the heat. Pop would just bring some treats for us at the end of the day. Maybe, I can do that with the kids.” Keith smiled.
“Oh, Keith, they’ll have lots of fun!” Allura chimed as she clasped her hands together.
“Also, James had found a place where we all could have a double date for New Year’s.” Keith chuckled.
“Well, I am looking forward to that.” Allura said as she held his hand.
“Don’t you ever think we all could, well, next summer Christmas, we all could go to either Altea or Zelza to celebrate Christmas? I know that Kaela is busy during those times, but still, I would want our kids to have the most fun and adventurous Christmas every year.” Allura said.
Keith smiled lovingly and leaned over the table to kiss her on the lips passionately. “Of course. That sounds great.” Allura smiled as her eyes sparkled with love and blushed a little as they chatted more before going back home.
(~)
“That was an eventual Christmas cooking.” James grinned. Kaela smiled at him and shook her head. She must admit, it was fun to be with the Paladins during Christmas during the summer. It was nice for a change. And she finally got the family she always wanted to have after being captured by the Galra. And she was reunited with her best friend.
“Uh, here. I know you liked our old lockets broken. But I uh, kinda fixed it.” James as he gave her the purple and blue box to Kaela.
Kaela put the cloth down and opened the lid of the box, seeing their two lockets were shiny, brand new and fixed. “Wow, they are beautiful, Jim. Thank you.” Kaela thanked him with James putting his hands on her waist and he kissed her passionately on the lips. Kaela put the box down on the table and wrapped her arms around him.
“Auntie Kae-Kae and Uncle Jimmy sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g.” Kiara and Alfor sang as they giggled, making the couple broke apart from their moment.
“Okay, okay, now go to Grandma Krolia. We’ll be getting for dinner.” Kaela said as she got the food out. James grabbed the doors and saw Keith and Allura had returned from their Christmas date.
Keith looked over to the side and dropped the gifts on the floor seeing the mess in the kitchen. He turned to Lance and Kaela as they pointed at each other. Keith crossed his arms and scolded Lance and his younger sister for making a mess. But nonetheless, still helped cleaned.
Everyone cheered and laughed and sang Christmas songs. Keith and Allura opened their presents with their kids as they played with their new toys and read their new books. Kaela had spent the time to make an album for them. She painted the album book for them and added elemental runes on the cover of the book. Lance put some seashells on it along with handmade puppets of the Voltron Lions.
They all had their dinner outside of the Kogane house with the night sky shining and sparkling. Hunk was setting up the fireworks with Lance. The kids were watching in curiosity with Kaela keeping an eye on them.
Then up in the air, fireworks popped in the night sky with the spirits glowing in the sky. Keith wrapped his arms around Allura’s shoulders, and they kissed under the night sky. Their kids were cheering as they saw many colours in the sky. It was their best Christmas, spending time with their family for the Summer holidays.
“Best Summer Christmas?” Keith whispered to his wife as he kissed her temple.
“Mm, the very best, darling.” Allura replied with a loving kiss on the lips and watched the fireworks together with their kids.

Quote
(1 Samuel 10:1-27) #VivendoUmaVidaExtraordinaria

Unexpected Surprises
Summary: It was Luka’s birthday and Keith was thinking of taking her to Zelza for the first time since Mages have been declared as partners with Altea in diplomatic meetings and politics. He thought it would be great for his new girlfriend to meet his younger sister, Kaela.
A/N: This is for a dear friend, @spacelion-loveshermulletson, Happy Birthday! Sorry for this late birthday gift. I had worked on this! I hope you do like it!
Luka opened her eyes and stretched as she smelt some roses on her bedside table. She smiled affectionately as she read the letter. She knew it was from her wonderful and handsome boyfriend, Keith. They had the day planned all for her birthday and Keith had announced that she’ll be meeting Keith’s younger sister.
She has always wondered what she was like. She could imagine that the two siblings were similar. Luka knew they had one of the most strongest relationship with their mother and each other. She got up from her bed and got started with her day inside the Castle of Lions.
She wore a red and orange dress with her hair tied up in a low braid. She saw her uncle was already up in the kitchen and was hiding something behind his back. “Uncle Coran, what is that behind your back?” Luka asked.
“Oh, a little gift for my niece.” Coran replied with a loving smile. He gave her the present he had got for her. Luka smiled brightly and sat on the chair to open it properly. She got the wrap out and saw a little box. She raised an eyebrow in confusion and opened it, seeing it was a red flower clip for her.
“Oh, Uncle Coran! It’s just like my mother’s.” Luka gasped with tears forming. She hugged him tightly. “Thank you!”
“No worries, my little one. Now, I know you have a busy day with Keith. Remember, have fun but not too much fun.” Coran said.
“Don’t worry. Keith won’t hurt me. I’ll also be meeting his sister today. I’ll be going to Zelza for my birthday.” Luka said with a smile.
(~)
Keith was watching his sister in a match with her friend, Ares, going against the Southern Fire and Water Mages. She was struggling to get past the line, but the other Water Mage was beating her and got her nearly to the end of her platform. She growled until she created a wave of water with her feet, knocking the Southern Water Mage falling down and fell into the water below.
She looked to the side seeing Ares was not winning. Ares was using his fire powers as he punched down on the ground and used lava as his advantage to created fisted rocks and punched the Southern Fire Mage, sent him flying up in the air and fell down into the water.
“Northern Fire and Water Mages wins!” Ares and Kaela cheered in victory as the crowd roared with Krolia and Keith cheering for Kaela.
After the match, Kaela changed into her Water Mage dress with her hair down with a crown and hair accessories with beads and feathers. She smiled when Keith came and hugged her tightly. “So proud.”
“Yes, it was a tense battle but good work.” Krolia smiled proudly.
“It wasn’t a battle. It is a game that the council had made to entertain the other non-Mages.” Kaela explained as she waved at the other mages. They all walked out of the arena and Kaela noticed that Keith looked nervous. “Oh, come on, Keith. I won’t even bite her. I am friendly.” Kaela punched him on the arm as he glared at her.
“Well, it’s just that I don’t know if you’ll like her.” Keith said as he rubbed his arm. “You have some kind of scary aura around you every time you meet someone.” Kaela pouted and shoved him aside with a smile.
“Oh, Keith, I met her, and I liked her. She is just like Allura but uh, petite.” Krolia grinned as she got a call from Kolivan. “Oh, I’ll be right back.”
Kaela raised an eyebrow at their mother. “Think, she is actually is going with Kolivan.”
“Bet ten GAC she is not.” Keith deadpanned. He wasn’t ready to see his mother be with someone just yet. And Kaela on the other hand seemed okay with that.
“I bet 20 GAC, she is. Game?” Kaela grinned.
“Game on.” Keith declared as they shook hands on it. He also noticed a wedding band on her left hand. He smiled knowing that his younger sister is happily married with James. But he was a bit mad that they didn’t get to have a proper wedding since they got married in secret before her exile.
“I will be with James for a few hours. Enjoy your date with Luka. Oh, and uh, Ares will accompany you in the Fire tribe cuisine. It is to die for.” Kaela winked at her brother and giggled.
“When does my sister actually giggle?” Keith asked himself.
(~)
Kaela went to her cottage and saw James was working on something. “Hey, I saw the match. Congratulations.” James greeted her with a proud smile as they kissed for a few seconds.
“Thank you. And uh, what’s with all of this?” Kaela asked, looking at all of the papers.
“Hey, you know we had talked about adopting. I found couple of kids that we might actually adopt.” James said as he shown her the picture of the baby girl and a boy. She saw they were Galran and Altean. And the other one was a human.
“Uh, babe—”
“I know it is tricky to choose, all these kids are homeless and parentless.” James said as he kissed her on the lips. “And we are working every day and talked about having kids since we got married.”
“We got married in secret.” Kaela pointed out as James nodded as he remembering that they got married in secret before her exile. “And we never got a real wedding.” Kaela patted his cheeks and kissed him passionately.
“So, you want something to eat?” Kaela asked.

Keith was in his Lion with Luka exploring the stars, the Moon Gate of Planet Zelza. She gasped excitedly, seeing the spirits glowing beautifully. As they landed, Luka immediately ran down and got out of the Black Lion. They had landed on the platform of the Capitol Castle. She gasped happily seeing the clouds above the village, seeing new buildings and houses were made.
“Oh this is so lovely, Keith. This is amazing! Where should we go first?” Luka asked excitedly.
Keith chuckled in amusement and wrapped his arm around her. “I was thinking we could go to the Earth Tribe. You are working on making those necklaces you were making for Merla and Romelle.”
“Oh, that is such an absolutely great idea. Maybe we could make a necklace for your sister.” Luka suggested.
“That is a great idea. But I think she has way too much. Since her friend is an Earth Mage. And she give her plenty of stones and crystals.” Keith said. “I think it’s best if she doesn’t get that much jewellery.”
Luka raised an eyebrow. “Keith, I don’t want to leave empty handed. I don’t want to give a bad impression to your sister.”
Keith smiled softly and then held her hands. “Alright, we can make her another bracelet or necklace.”
“I was thinking of something simple yet elegant. Does she ever worn a choker? Like the one um, that uh, Rizavi has?” Luka asked curiously.
“No, she’s…. does not have one of those.” Keith replied hesitantly, thinking back how Kaela never wanted jewellery until he had given her the golden bracelet from the Space Mall, after her capture from the Galra Empire.
The two went to the Earth Tribe with Luka looking through the red and blue stones while Keith was looking at the crystals. Keith never knew they had different kinds of crystals and stones. He found one that could go with Kaela’s dress and Luka found one that matches her markings. He looked at himself in the mirror seeing the markings that Kaela had given him.
“Say, love, does Kaela love shawls?” Luka asked as they paid for the crystal and stones.
“She has lots of them now. She makes them. The one I had given you? The orange with green leaves on it? She made that for you a month ago.” Keith smiled.
Luka smiled brightly. “Oh, wow. She is truly talented as you said. She might be a fashion designer. Or a pilot.”
“She’s actually fashion designer here in Zelza.” Keith smiled proudly as he chuckled looking at Luka’s shocked reaction as she held the bag in her hands.

Kaela was at the Water Tribe market with her friend Ares, who was munching on the fish balls. “Hmm, this is really good. You think you could like, you know, have it in a little mini fish bowl and eat with sauce on the side?” Ares suggested.
Kaela chuckled and turned to Ash who was smiling lovingly at her boyfriend. “I think you could do that.” Ash said as she got a piece of a fish ball from him.
“I think I will leave that to the professional fish catchers. And the reason why I asked for you guys to be here is that I need to ask you guys, mainly Ash, since your bump is showing, and your cravings are getting crazier by the second that Ares gets more food.” Kaela said as she looked over at Ash’s bump.
Ares and Ash got married and united the Fire and Sun Mages. They are trying to combine their people in the Capitol and working their way to find themselves a bigger Castle to build in the Fire Tribe. Ash will be moving to the Fire Tribe as Ares’s wife and Queen of the Sun and Fire Mage Tribe.
“Well, pregnancy may be a difficult thing, but it does drain your mana because the baby needs it. And it is actually the best feeling. We both knew that Misty told you that Most female mages die from labour and it is a huge risk to get pregnant while most new mothers… die during labour.” Ash said as she rubbed her bump.
“But aren’t you scared that is going to, well, happen to you?” Kaela asked.
“Yora. Things like this will happen eventually and as Ash said, it is worth it. We are afraid it might happen but we all must have faith.” Ares assured her while calling her by her new Zelzan name.
“So, what? Are you pregnant?” Ash asked softly.
“No, no. I’m not.” Kaela replied timidly. Ares and Ash were good friends to James and Kaela. They both were aware that they were talking about having a child. They have been married for two years now. And now they are expecting very, very, fast. She only found out that Mage pregnancy is really a fast process.
“Have you told your brother about this?” Ares asked.
“Yes, I did. A month ago. He thinks I should take it slow and see what will happens.” Ares suggested. “Unless you are not suggesting to get knocked sooner.” Ash groaned and punched him on his arm.
“Oh, leave her alone.” Ash chuckled and turned to the Water Mage. “Yora, it’s alright. This. This is called a miracle. And it is beautiful. I’m sure you and James will talk about it. Like a serious talk about it.”
Kaela nodded in understanding, until she was called for a meeting underwater from another water mage. “I got to go to this meeting. Oh, Ares, take my brother and his girlfriend to that restaurant where they have that porridge.” Kaela ran towards the water and dived in the water.
“You think she’ll be okay?” Ares asked as they finished the fish balls.
“I’m sure. But we’re her friends. We should at least support her decision. Now, I’m hungry again. I want some more of that fish balls.” Ash said as she rubbed her bump.
Ares groaned in defeat, looking at his wife and then his eyes glanced at her bump. “You better not make your mother mad.” Ash chuckled and then nudged his arm playfully.

Kaela was swimming underwater with another mage beside her telling her that some of the Mages were struggling in building new houses with new technology. She was trying to think of another way and could ask Coran for advice or… Slav? No, no, no, she’ll ask Coran.
“I’ll contact an old friend of mine for some advices.”
The other mage smiled politely as she swam away with Kaela looking around the place underwater. She then went to the Castle underwater as she entered the throne room. Her royal advisor, Izumi, came and asked. “Princess, cream or midnight blue? For the banquet?”
“Cream has always been chosen for the banquet in the Capitol, try blue.” Kaela smiled.
“Yes, your majesty.” Izumi bowed down.
“Please, call me Kaela or Yora.” Kaela smiled as she swam towards to the table in the middle seeing the screens, filled with plans for the banquet for some of the Water Mages are coming to the surface. “Have you checked with King Apollo about the food and drinks?”
“No, not yet. He said he was busy.” Izumi replied as she got her tablet out and let her see the messages.
Kaela sighed in annoyance. She now knows why he was busy. He is with Misty in the Earth Kingdom. Busy doing “stuff”. Those two have always been so attached to each other. “I’ll go over at the Earth Kingdom to get him to get his butt out of the bed.”
“They have been getting along very well after the war.” Izumi noted with a smirk as Kaela nodded with a grin. “I’ll going with the “unexpected surprise”.

Keith and Luka had been to the Earth Kingdom, the Moon Tribe, the Air Tribe and the Sun tribe. Now are heading to the Fire Tribe. They saw fire dancers and they were given some fire crackers and fire necklaces as a greeting.
Luka was smiling brightly and then saw the porridge that Keith was telling her about. “Hey. Keith! You made it!” Ares exclaimed happily as he hugged his friend. “Glad you could make it.”
“Thanks. Ares, this is Luka, Luka, this is Ares. Kaela’s friend.” Keith introduced the Fire Prince as she bowed down.
“No need to bow down. I am a normal Mage here. This is my family’s restaurant. Please, have a seat. And, please, enjoy.” Ares smiled politely as he heard his wife was shouting out some food she has been craving.
“Is she alright?” Luka asked, seeing Ash was nearly going to trash inside the restaurant. She could see she was nearly throwing a knife at every chef inside.
“I should get in there.” Ash said as he gave them each a menu at their table and Keith was having a flashback when Kaela was flipping out on Lance who had glued all of her books in her cottage. Kaela had given him a massive bump on his head.
“This takes me back to seeing Kaela and Lance arguing.” Keith smiled.
“Oh? Those two do really get along very well. While I do love James and Kaela together, I actually thought Lance and Kaela would be together.” Luka said as she looked over the menu.
Keith chuckled. “Well, those two nearly got together from I have heard.”
“What? Really?” Luka asked in shock as she put down the menu and had her full attention to her boyfriend.
“Yes, really. Lance actually asked Kaela out before we went to fight against Honerva. I was shocked when he asked for permission to ask her out when I was actually going with Allura.” Keith said as he fondly said Allura’s name with longingly everlasting love. Luka knew he loved Allura so much with all of his heart.
“And what of James? How did he eventually won her heart?” Luka asked curiously as they ordered the famous soup that Ares was making for them as he placed the bowls on their table with Keith seeing Ares had a bruises on his face.
“Uh, did Ash did that?” Keith asked, pointing at his bruises.
“Yup, perks in having a Sun Mage as your wife.” Ares muttered as he took the tray in his arm. “And she is gonna have me to sleep on the couch tonight, why? I called her a fat woman.”
Luka tried her best not to laugh while Keith was feeling sorry for the mage. He is the second King of the Fire and Sun and is running a restaurant in the Capitol. He has a lot in his hands while Apollo is doing his duties to combine the Earth and Fire Mages. “Hmm, imagine Kaela being pregnant.” Keith said with a chuckle.
“Yeah, make her mad and we’ll see who wins.” Ares said as he went back to work.
“Well, now we know how a pregnant Mage is during in her mood swings.” Luka noted.
“And as we were, while Lance and Kaela had dated briefly, Lance noticed that James had feelings for her. Well, he did take it very well. He knew that their relationship was really not what he thought it would be like. He began to notice Pidge and they both had confessed that they liked each other. While James and Kaela had their romance happened.” Keith explained.
Luka smiled brightly. “Aww, how sweet! James and Kaela do go well together, and I have heard from Lance, that he called them, ‘Commander Phoenix’.”
“Really? That’s Lance for you.” Keith chuckled.
“Well, I did heard that they got married in secret, is that correct?” Luka asked as she ate the soup and her eyes sparkled as she kept on eating the nice fresh porridge.
“Yes, which I am still mad that they don’t get to have a real wedding with her family and friends. Their only witness was Mage Princess Serene.” Keith said as he ate the porridge.
“Oh, she would look lovely in a wedding dress. Maybe a nice blue and purple dress with a nice veil and a train. Ooh, she’ll look fantastic with a red, purple and blue wedding dress also. Or that is too much.” Luka hummed.
“Heh, Lu. If she decides to have a real wedding. You two may plan for it the whole day.” Keith said with a loving smile, watching her enjoying her porridge on their date. “I think you and my sister will get along just fine.”

Kaela was in her cottage with James making adjustments with his rifle while looking at the photos and files of the orphaned children. He was keen on finding some children they could adopt. Human, Galra or Altean. It doesn’t matter to him. He was willing to adopt any child they could find.
She bit her lips while she placed her papers on her desk. She was about to go towards him until she suddenly felt nausea. She ran outside to the front and threw up in the bins. James immediately went outside to get her hair out of the way. “I’ll…I’ll throw that away later. I’ll get you some water with some Zelzan sugar for you, babe.” James said as he rubbed her back.
After Kaela threw up, she felt an immediate change in her mana. It felt like it is changing strangely. Like it is transferring somewhere….in her stomach. She was in the bathroom rubbing her face and mouth, getting rid of the vomit from her mouth as she looked at her reflection and saw that her face looked a bit pale.
James knocked on the door to the bathroom with a worried expression. “Babe? Are you alright? Should I call someone?”
“No, no, I’m fine. Maybe just a bug.” Kaela replied quickly as she looked at her reflections again then stepped out. “I’m fine, Jim. Don’t worry.”
“You sure?” James asked as he put his hands on his waist.
“I’m sure.” Kaela replied with a smile and kissed him on the cheek. “I need to go and check if the banquet is all set. You are coming right?”
“Nope. I have to go for a meeting at the Garrison. Sorry.” James apologised.
“Okay.” Kaela smiled as she give him his helmet to him. And got his pack for lunch and gave it to James as he stepped out. “Here you go. Your lunch and I added fire ball berries. They are tasty.”
“Thanks. And uh, make sure you take it easy. I don’t want you to push yourself too hard on your work as a Mage Princess of the Water Tribe.” James said as he hopped in his fighter.
“I promise. Besides, Keith and Luka will be in the water tribe soon as the banquet starts.” Kaela smiled lovingly at him.
“Alright, tell Keith that we’ll be having a game night on Earth.” James said as he leaned down to kiss her on the lips. “Then we can talk about having a child or children.”
Kaela just smiled as he took off from the ground and then she made a portal that takes him back to Earth. She wondered if she could be a good mother like her own mother. She said that she’ll become a natural if she just follow her instincts.
She went inside her cottage and saw her Ikri was eating the leftover porridge that James was eating. “Neze, no, you can have it in your large bowl later.” Kaela laughed as her friend from the water tribe knock down the door and shouted out something excitedly.
“LET’S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!”
“Eris, the party isn’t happening until tonight. And you are a few hours early.” Kaela chuckled in amusement. Her new friend is a new Water Mage member and is a dancer in the tribe. She saw how talented Kaela was in healing and had asked her to be her mentor to past the exams.
“Oh, uh, right. And where is your husband? Is he supposed to be with you?” Eris asked.
“He is going for a meeting today. And I’ll be meeting up with my brother and his girlfriend now. So I have to get going. Could you tell Misty that I had left her some other work to do?” Kaela asked.
“Yes, sure. And Gaius wanted to let you know that the new meeting for the new warriors is cancelled due to the banquet.” Eris confirmed to her.
“Of course, I’ll check in later then I’ll organize with the dance at the party.” Kaela said as she got flew up in the sky to the village near the lake in the forest. She saw some lights dangling around the field with the tables all set and cleaned.
Somewhere in the Water Tribe entrance, Luka was excitedly watching a performance with the dancers giving Luka blue flowers. Keith was amazed by the work Kaela had done for her party and banquet. She was becoming a talented designer. Keith looked to the side, seeing Luka was looking at the blue crystal dresses with red accents. “This is definitely your sister’s dress.” Luka stated with a smile.
“Hmm, I think white and purple suits her.” Keith said as he put an arm around her.
“Oh, come on, this is definitely her colours. So, where do we meet her? I am really excited!” Luka giggled.
“I don’t know, I’ve sent her a message, but she said she’ll be running late. She said something about vomiting, screaming and shouting.” Keith said in confusion.
(~)
Ash was screaming at the top of her lungs and Ares was trying to get his poor, red, unfortunate damaged hand to get out of Ash’s hand. She had held a great grip on his. She was having contractions until her water broke. Ash pulled Ares by the collar of his shirt. “This is all of your fault! You put this baby in me!”
Ares gulped in fear and turned to Misty, Suki and Kaela. “Hey, don’t look at us. She’s your wife. You vowed to take care of her until death do you part.” Misty said as Suki pinched her.
“What Misty is trying to say is that you stay by her side. I’ll get Izumi and the rest of the crew. I have to message my brother.” Kaela said as she got out of the room and messaged her brother and then got a call from James. She gasped in surprise thinking she should replied not until she heard screaming and overlapping shouting.
Ash shouted out some words in Zelzan and threw some cups at Ares who was getting out of the room and held onto Kaela for his dear life. “Ugh, Ares, you are the Fire Prince of the Fire Tribe! Get a grip, man!” Kaela shouted.
(~)
“Looks like she needs to take this emergency.” Keith said as he looked at his communicator.
“Oh, that is alright. She is busy as you said. I think it gives us more opportunities to see what is in the Water Tribe.” Luka smiled.
“That’s a good idea. How about some ice cream. They do have some here.” Keith said with a smile. Luka perked up, hearing him say ‘ice cream’, she immediately grabbed Keith’s arm and pulled him with her into the busy crowds.
They all had seen everyone was dancing and singing in a circle around the fountain with the Mages making the water move with their movement. Smooth as a river and cool as ice. The children were giggling and laughing when they saw Mage dancers clothed in their traditional water tribe dresses and clothes.
As one of the Water Mages recognised Keith as their Princess’s brother. he immediately went up to him and gave him a little bag. Much to the couple’s confusion, they both looked inside the blue bag and saw a blanket in it with candles.
“What are these for?” Luka asked.
Keith reached down in the bag and saw the letter. “Meet me up in the mountains where Serene’s old temple is.”
“Looks like my sister has chosen a venue for us.” Keith smiled.

30 minutes had passed, and Kaela was late to meet Keith and Luka. And oh how the spirits were able to help, Ash was still giving birth to her baby and her mana was running out. Since Ash has no other family relative, Kaela, Suki and Misty all gave all of their mana to help her heal up fast and quickly. In order for her to survive the birthing process.
Ares was having fears about Ash dying during childbirth. Apollo and Ares were outside of the birthing room. The young Fire Mage Prince was pacing back and forth in the hallways while seeing more nurses coming in and out of the room, making him feel more worried. He feels like he is going to throw up more than ever.
His nervous has taken over and then gagged. He covered his mouth, so vomit won’t come out. He frantically looked for a rubbish bin but could not find one. “Ares, come on, lad! Get the hold of yourself!” Apollo encouraged him.
“What if I really turn out to be a very bad father?! What if I break the baby’s neck?! What will happen to Ash? IS she gonna die?!” Ares shouted as he grabbed him by the collar of his clothes.
“I assure you brother everything will be fine. Ash will be fine!” Apollo assured him as tried to calm his younger brother. He was breathing quickly and heavily and then heard Ash screaming loudly, experiencing another immense pain.
Misty was peeking and saw the baby’s head. “Wow, I can see the head. Ash, you are a fighter, I give you that!” Misty encouraged her.
“Oh, Mist, you and Apollo don’t have to do it!” Ash whined as she pushed again while holding Kaela’s hand who was kept calm and went through this smoothly with Suki. Misty looked over at Suki who shrugged, wondering why she had said that.
“Oh well, Suki, Kaela and I might ended being mothers.” Misty pointed out. “It will be fun!”
“But not giving birth!” Ash screamed.
“And Magnus said that most of Mages can’t get pregnant, because, infertile.” Kaela added as Suki and Misty both nodded, thinking that could be the case.
“Aren’t you going to meet your brother?” Suki asked Kaela.
“They can wait. They sent me a message.” Kaela replied as she rubbed Ash’s hand.
“You can do it!” The girls encouraged their friend to get through the child birth. With one final push, she screamed out loud and then the silence came with steady beeping from the machines until they heard a baby crying.
Ash laid her head down with relief and tiredness. But still managed to smile and to hold her baby in her arms at long last. She took a good look at her baby boy in her arms. Wrapped in a blue towel to keep him warm in his mother’s embrace.
Ares came inside the room to see his son in his wife’s arms. Both of them cried in tears of joy. They were both blessed with a healthy baby boy. Apollo was beaming with happiness and pride with Gaius arriving with a smile and stood close by Suki.
“Apollo, are you crying?” Misty asked.
Apollo sniffed and tried to act more composed and professional as a King. “No. I’m not. It’s just magic dust here.”
“Sure thing big softy.” Misty teased him.
“Such an amazing sight.” Gaius commented with a soft smile, holding Suki’s hand in his. All of them were watching the heartfelt moment.
“Indeed. I wonder what our family will be like.” Suki smiled.
Gaius smiled at his wife and wrapped an arm around her. “We shall see. And I think Kaela needs to be somewhere else.” They both turned to see Kaela was looking through the machines until Ares noticed.
“Y’Oriana, aren’t you going to meet your brother?” Ares asked.
“Yes, I am! And Izumi will take care of everything from here.” Kaela smiled as she got out of the room to get ready to meet up with her brother and his girlfriend.
(~)
Luka was looking at the grave inside the cave. She now knows the ancient history of the Mages from her boyfriend and knew that Kaela had gone through so much as Mage Princess Serene did. She cannot wait to meet officially meet her.
Keith was just outside seeing all of the tribes home from the temple. It was an indescribable sight to see. He now knew that his sister belongs here. He heard a phoenix squawking in the distance. He smiled and called out to his girlfriend. “Luka, she’s coming!”
Luka ran out of the cave and saw a white and purple phoenix and then it went into its original form, seeing Kaela for the first time as she landed. She had her long hair down with braids and feathers on. She was wearing a purple and blue dress with as she could see her markings and tattoos all over her arms.
“You are late.” Keith grinned as he hugged and twirled her around.
“Hey, at least I arrived in the most fantastic and graceful way.” Kaela chuckled.
Keith rolled his eyes playfully and turned to Luka. “Kaela, I want you to meet, Luka. Luka, this is my sister, Kaela.”
“It is such an honour to meet you, your majesty.” Luka bowed down respectfully.
“Please, rise.” Kaela smiled as she stood up. “It is such a pleasure to finally meet you. I have heard so much about you from my brother. He cannot stop talking about you.”
Luka blushed a little and then the two girls went to the picnic underneath the Soul’s tree. Keith was telling Luka that Kaela had united all of the species in all of the Galaxy to stop Adelram’s attack here in Zelza with all of the strength she’s got.
“Yes, it was the hardest thing to do. To gain the Coalition’s attention. As you heard, after my exile, I was having a strained relationship with your boyfriend here. And I was a bit stuck and I lived here for a few years now.” Kaela said as she ate the muffin.
“But you are a legend in the universe! You have our deeply humble respects. My uncle Coran told me stories about Serene.” Luka said as she drank some water while Kaela spitted her drink in Keith’s face.
She coughed and wiped her mouth with a cloth. “Your uncle is Coran?!”
“Yes, he is. Didn’t Keith tell you?” Luka looked over at her boyfriend.
“As he failed to do so. Oh, and uh, you completely deserved that.” Kaela smirked seeing Keith was completely drenched.
Keith gave her a glare and stood up. “My lady and my-not-so-lady, I’ll be right back.” He began walking away to get cleaned up with Kaela throwing a paper towel at him but missed.
“So, I see you have mended your relationship.” Luka smiled.
“Yes, we did. But we sometimes fight. During our mission to stop Honerva, Keith, turned out, didn’t fully trusted my abilities until some time after that.” Kaela said.
“I see. After your death and Allura’s, it was hard. He loves her deeply. I know I cannot replace her. She was his first love.” Luka said as she looked at her reflection in her drink.
“I had that feeling before. I loved someone else before I met James and Lance. Koryak, was his name. He was the only one who never judged me.” Kaela smiled. “Then Lance came in, he was very sweet. But our relationship was short lived. It was nice but my feelings for James, they were really real.”
“You love him so much. As I love your brother.” Luka smiled as they both watched the spirits above them. “Oh! Are you a spirit? Or a shapeshifter? Because you were a phoenix when arrived.”
“Hmm, you could say that. Don’t tell Keith, alright. It’s a secret for the both of us.” Kaela winked.
Once Keith came back, he saw Kaela was showing her powers to Luka. He smiled seeing Kaela and Luka were getting along. Keith felt the wind was blowing gently with Luka running up to him and hugged him tightly. Kaela punched him on the air gently and whistled getting her white Ikri’s attention and she flew behind Kaela as Luka gasped in wonder. She pet the Ikri with Keith and Kaela watching with smiles.
(~)
“It has been an honour to meet you, Kaela. It is such a wonderful planet to come for a holiday.” Luka smiled.
“Oh, yes, everyone in the galaxy go here for a holiday. Lance and Pidge went here for their honeymoon after going to Olkari.” Kaela smiled. “And your more than welcome to come by and visit. I hoped you enjoyed the festival tonight. And the banquet as well.”
“Oh, it was delightful! I loved it.” Luka smiled with Keith wrapping an arm around her waist.
“Babe, is it alright if I talk to my sister about something? You can wait inside.” Keith smiled. Luka smiled back and kissed him on the cheek before going inside the Black Lion.
“What is it? You okay, Yorak?” Kaela asked.
“I felt something different about your aura. It has changed. I can feel it.” Keith said as Kaela stiffened, remembering that Keith can actually sense the change in her aura. She has been teaching him how to control his mana when he is experiencing extreme emotions.
“Are you okay, Ella?” Keith asked worriedly.
“I vomited this morning before you guys came. I have been feeling a bit nausea.” Kaela said. “But I did visited my mentor, Magnus. He has seen the results. I thought it was impossible.” Her hand went to her stomach which Keith got the gist.
“No…” Keith breathed out in disbelief.
(~)
Kaela returned to her cottage and was standing of a doorway where James has been working in. She saw what he has been working on. A small crib. For a baby. She was having an urge to start a family of her own since she married James.
She heard footsteps and sensed it was James. “Hey, babe, that was supposed to be a surprise.” James smiled as he kissed her hair.
“Mm, I know. You are a bad at keeping things as a surprises.” Kaela teased as they kissed each other softly, then pulled away. “I have something to tell you.”
“Go for it.” James said as he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her forehead.
Kaela doesn’t know how or when she should say it. It has been eating her alive all day. She had told her brother and thought it was impossible as well. She sighed, took a long deep breath in and out. She looked in his eyes as he stared in hers. “I’m pregnant.”
James blinked once. Twice. Three times. He froze in place as he looked at his wife. She was worried for his reaction. He looked at her face and she did looked pale this morning before he had left for Earth. She did threw up this morning. They both thought it was impossible for her to be pregnant. She had lost the ability to bear children. “A-A-Are you sure?” James stammered.
Kaela just nodded quickly in response. They were both shocked as the silence was even more awkward for them to speak. Not until James hugged her tightly. “Ella, I know the risks. But we can do this together. I promise you this. We can work this out. Together.” James caressed her cheeks and kissed her on the forehead where the diamond was.
Kaela smiled gratefully and looked in his eyes deeply. “Thank you.”
(~)
“She’s what?!” Luka shouted. “NO! But what she had explained to me. No, she can’t die during that process. Oh no, what about the baby?” Keith had explained what had happened on the way back to Altea.
“Don’t worry. My sister’s a fighter. She can do this.” Keith assured her. “Besides, we are here to support her no matter what.” Luka nodded and hugged him tightly, worried about Kaela’s surprising situation. She, too, hoped, to start a family of her own. Maybe. Someday.
