It was published by #squaresoft in Japan and the E.U , #squareea in North America and #sceaustralia in Aus. It was released worldwide in 1999. A #microsoftwindows version was released worldwide in the year 2000. #steam got a version of it in 2013. The #psn got it in 2009. There was a worldwide remaster for modern platforms in 2019. The story follows the young members of an elite force called #seed who are drawn into a great conflict. Follow the adventures of #squallleonhart , #rinoaheartilly , #quististrepe , #zelldincht , #selphietilmitt and #irvinekinneas . This game is a beloved classic and deserves playing one way or another!   “Then don’t.” He grasped the sides of Zell’s shoulders in hopes that those words would sink into his very bones and he would be motivated by them. 

  “Listen to what I’m telling you, Zell. Get out of here – take the others and go while you have the chance. There’s no reason any more people need to get hurt.” He knew before he finished speaking that his comrade wasn’t listening – was only waiting to talk. Object. Reason with him somehow that they could all make it out of this alive.

  “I wouldn’t be asking this of you if I hadn’t thought it through,” one hand reached up and grasped Zell by the side of the face, funneling his attention even further; there was no escape for either of them. “Trust me. You can save them. You’ve got this.”

  His hand fell to the other’s chest, giving him a desperate shove back in the direction they’d come as the ground rumbled with quaking footsteps.

  “Go – GO!  i’ll hold him off,” but his voice was drowned by the deafening roar of the beast behind him making its way through the winding halls of the Centran catacombs.

not exactly what he’d meant - maybe he should have been more specific; have we met before? that would have done better, but he’s still gotten his answer, albeit in a roundabout fashion. 

there was something annoyingly familiar about the younger man - something that seemed content to dance just out of reach. perhaps he had seen him in passing? he said he had served as an engineer for the empire - it wasn’t out of the realm of possibilities that they’d crossed paths out in the field - shinra had set up some of the magitek generators used in the imperial bases, he could have been stationed at any of those?
