I’ve noticed how a lot of people put portraits of the light dragon in their house in totk, could imagine how Zelda would react to seeing something like that and realizing that’s what she looked like as a dragon.
Tumblr media
I think Zelda learns about her dragon form shortly after she returns to normal, though I guess seeing her dragon-like appearance may leave her dumbfounded but I guess she might be excited.
She herself says she doesn't remember anything after her transformation, but I consider her dragon form to be quite cute! Also according to the story she lived in this form for 10,000 years, pretty much from the founding of Hyrule to the happenings of Botw, a really long period in which everyone will have admired her in the sky.
I can't stop thinking that Link may have told her that he often visited her when she was in that form, maybe that could have made her smile and it's obvious how much she values the opinion from Link, so I think she would love to have some pictures of her dragon form, just to remember what she did to help Link and Hyrule 💖

☀️ TOTK MEMORIES SPOILERS ☀️
💧digesting💧
I'm navigating through some headcanons and trying to make sense out of it. I'd like to think Zelda's transformation wasn't immediate, that's why I painted her eyes dragon-ish :3. (+ Glitter watercolour, inevitably)
Also help? I don't understand the braid headband so I didn't add it. But wouldn't that mean she has two very long strands of hair? How does that work
I'll be gone for some weeks, so may this piece of art last!
If you 💟 give me a 🔁!

This drawing. THIS DRAWING. I have spend the entire last Week+ drawing just one (1) dragon-
Between my art app Dying and general drawing an Ungodly amount of scales and spikes I just kind of Gave up and copied/flipped Naydra to do the other two and did a lazy background
Either way, a composition I thought was really cool looking and dragons!✧*。。*♡
To Dragons!

Zelda BOTW/TOTK dragon theory (spoilers ahead)
I know Zelda fans talk about the dragons in BOTW/TOTK as if they’re “no thoughts, head empty” (which I’m pretty sure is mostly just a meme along the lines of “Hirohiko Araki hates dogs”; fans don’t really believe it, but it makes for funny jokes), but I have a theory that the dragons aren’t mindless animals. Rather, they’re more like Hyrule’s equivalent of biblical angels: supernatural creatures so far beyond mortal understanding as to be impossible to comprehend. They’re immortal, and they don’t need to eat or sleep. They wouldn’t think the way mortals do or worry about what mortals would worry about. The idea that one would become a dragon just to become a mindless beast doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Becoming a dragon is probably the closest thing a person in Hyrule can do to attain godhood.
It’s been theorized that the dragons carry on the last will of their former mortal selves: Zelda wants to help Link, so the Light Dragon acts as something of a guardian angel to Link; Ganondorf wants to cast Hyrule into eternal darkness, so the Demon Dragon acts as an all-vengeful god bent on destruction. It’s possible the other three dragons exist to guard their respective shrines. I also think they don’t really care about mortals gathering materials and parts from their bodies because they already have immortal, constantly regenerating bodies; someone chipping off parts of their horns and talons wouldn’t hurt them in the slightest.
Draconification also calls to mind Dr. Manhattan from Watchmen to a certain degree; upon gaining his godlike powers, he loses all touch with humanity and loses the ability to empathize with others (although he can still speak and has his memories of his past life).
So instead of a dragon’s thought process being like this…

It’s probably more like this.
