My #bestnine2018 showing my #exhibitionproject, #multimediainstallation #munaqabba i was working on the past year like a lunatic, which was shown in Sept + will be exhibited again in 2019, presumably in Cologne, Dortmund &…will keep you posted. Also one of my many #assignments in 2018, a #magazinepublication for @elternmagazin in which I portrayed the last days of Dr.Geiss a paediatrician in Cologne-Chorweiler. Also worked on various other projects such as a 9-day travel story for @brigittemagazin which will be out in Jan2019, christmas catalogue for @weinfreunde, @audible campaign, learnt to drive a pallet transporter #gabelstapler @ a #photoshoot for CJD, shot lots of portraits + stories for e.g. @stern @derspiegel.magazin @enorm_magazin @zeitwissen the lastest #galore cover &many CEOs e.g. for @wirtschaftswoche @deichmann @vonovia @peekundcloppenburg_de & was very happy to go back to @fhdortmund to start lecturing photography As some of you know this year wasn’t only about great projects, but also very much about personal challenges & loss, and so I took some well needed time off in Oct & Nov to ground myself & recover. went hiking as much as I could, visited family /friends I hadn’t seen in ages, increased my yoga practice after a few weeks of tenosynovitis in both arms. Especially in years like this, in which I once more learnt how important it is to look after myself, I also understood to embrace my vulnerability, accept help from others, ask for support, love and lots of hugs, and that it is ALWAYS in my hands to fill my life with joy. That there’s no need for „either-or“. That accepting the duality can give me peace. That the presence of darkness doesn’t mean the absence of light. That it is OK when tears of sadness spill over into tears of laughter, when loss is sensibel & simultaneously the richness of life. When deep connections, friendship & love compensate the void. 2018 – you have been one of the biggest challenges. But I bow to you, in deep humbleness & respect. Because you have taught me so much. Still processing… but thank you! Thanks to everyone who made me happy, laugh, cry, feel loved this year. Supported+believed in me.
