i struggled with this because there aren’t a whole lot of scenes i’d choose to rewrite. i think if any, i’d add an actual flashback with george to fanny explaining her death to the other ghosts

Mirror

Hobie doesn’t know what he was expecting when Miguel called him over to show a new recruit around. He was expecting another stuck up, annoying so called “hero.”

He definitely was not expecting you.

It was like he was looking in a mirror the second he saw you, just a mirror that turned him into a girl.

“Hobie, I need you to show ms… uh…”

“L/n.”

“Right. Show Ms. L/n around.” He waved his hand.

If you were anyone else he would’ve probably told Miguel to piss off. But you were beautiful, and you seemed cool.

“Alright.” Hobie played it cool, as always, shoving his hands in his jacket pockets.

You smiled at him and he smiled back as you both began walking.

“So, what brings you here?” You asked him.

“Eh.. I mostly just came for free stuff. I steal tons of parts, and I get to travel through universes.” He shrugged.

“Got it.” You said, as he continued to show around the place. And him showing you the place around ended up with you two having lunch together.

“So, what’s your favorite band?” You asked him as you both ate.

“Uh.. I like the Sex Pistols. Either them or the ramones.” He said, thinking about it.

You smiled. “That’s nice. I love them both, but I like Misfits more. Or the X-ray-spex.”

“That’s cool. Cool.” He said, nodding.

“Yeah. It’s pretty cool. I noticed your laces. You actually…”

“Oh those? It was a while ago.. yeah.”

“That’s sick. So glad I don’t have to deal with those.” You snickered.

“You mean you actually got anarchy there?” He asked, eyes going wide.

“Yeah… you don’t?”

“Nah. Not yet.” He said, even more interested in you now.

Tonys foot tapped anxiously as he paced back and forth in the hospital waiting room. Pepper was in labor. In the process of giving birth. Tony had never been so afraid.

He was scared he'd be a terrible father. That he'd mess up with you. He was snapped out of his racing thoughts when Natasha placed a hand on his shoulder, getting his attention.

"You okay?" She questioned tony, he nodded his head quickly in response before asking Steve how long it had been for the seventh time.

"Two minutes since the last time you asked." Steve smiled, looking at his watch. He had asked this every 2 or 3 minutes.

Tony sighed anxiously, gasping as the nurse he had been bothering for the last 30 minutes asking about pepper walked through the door, her pink scrubs swooshing as she walked toward him, with a warm smile on her face she spoke.

"Shes here." She giggled at the worried father. Tony immediately brushed past her into the room. His eyes immediately fell on pepper, sitting up and holding a small pink cloth too her chest.

His jaw fell agape, hitting the floor. He waddled over to her. She smiled at him.

he placed his hand on her arm, she folded his arms in the correct position and placed his daughter in his arms. She was swaddled in the soft pink cloth.

He looked into her deep e/c orbs as she blinked at him lovingly. Making a funny face, which made you smile and coo at him.

All of the avengers rallied into the room, all taking turns holding you. Tony holding his arms under theirs, afraid they would drop you. Even bucky.

Eventually they all went home, tony held you in his arms, sitting near the window, and fell asleep there too.

The nurse he'd been bothering all day had to pry you out of his grasp and put you in a crib.

He woke up 0.3 seconds after you would began to cry. Immediately jumping up to sooth your cries.

Of course he treated pepper like a queen. Helping her to the bathroom whenever she needed to go. Ordering breakfast for her, going out to target to get her fluffy socks when her feet were cold.

Pepper knew he'd be an amazing father as he rubbed her feet and rocked you to sleep in his free arm.

Doing everything and anything to allow his wife to rest.

About Reader's Spider:

Reader's Spider name is Spider-Gazer (nickname = Gaze). She comes from a dimension where there are no firm lines or edges and everything is slightly blurred instead. However, this slight blurring of lines has given her the power to gaze through the barriers of the Acracnoid Humanoid Poly Multiverse and communicate and see into other dimensions. When this happens, her eyes roll back into her head and become completely white. Yet if she is wearing her mask, the spider eyes which are usually white turn the same glowing orange as the paths between multiverses.

She also has an amulet that was passed down for generations in her family along with the legend of the one who would be gifted the power of the spider and use it to bring peace to this and every universe. When she holds it, it helps magnify and focus her powers (since it comes from her universe, it also does not have firm edges).

Ever since you found out you were pregnant, Hobie hasn’t let you do anything for yourself.

“Hobes, I can do it-“

“Nope. Let me cook tonight, for you and the lil’ guy.” He said, grabbing the spoon from you.

You sighed and rolled your eyes. “Lil guy? Who said it was a guy?”

“Just my guess.“

“I hope it’s a girl because I don’t know if I can handle another man in this house.” You mumbled and sat on the couch.

Hobie just laughed.

The next day, he’s at HQ, making sure you were fine before leaving. He saw Mayday and Peter and decided to say hi.

“Hey guys.” He said when he saw mayday and Peter.

“Hey Hobie! How’ve you been?” Peter asked, and let mayday go free. Hobie grabbed her and held her.

“Been alright. What bout you?”

“That’s good. She’s a little tiring, but pretty good.” He said as he went into detail about him and MJ.

“So, how’s Y/n?”

Hobie snickered “Stubborn. Those pregnancy hormones.”

“Yeah I know what you mean. But in the end.. it’s honestly all worth it, Y’Know? I think you’re going to be a great dad.” Peter said with a small smile as he grabbed mayday again.

“Thanks.. alright, I’ll see you around.”

“See you.” Peter waved, and mayday waved as well as they walked past him.

Hobie replayed those words in his head, he really hoped it would all be worth it in the end. And he hoped he would be a good dad.

Even if he’d never say it, he had a soft spot for you and the child, who you found out was a girl.

“Told you it wouldn’t be a boy.” You snickered once you left the hospital, baby girl in Hobies arms.

“I’m happy with both my girls.” He shrugged, looking at her with admiration, not believing that you both had brought a literal human into the world.

“You really are gonna be the best dad.” You said before you entered the car.

He looked up at you and saw you smiling. Peter was right.

You frowned as you lifted your shirt up slightly in front of your mirror. Turning to see your side profile. Staring at your stomach.

You thought no boys/girls would ever show interest in you if you looked like this. Although your body was completely normal for your age. Sighing as you felt a tear fall down your cheek.

You continued staring at your body, to which you hated, when your father, loki, suddenly burst through the door. Usually he'd knock and you'd have a second to jump into your bed and put on a fake smile. But you didn't this time.

You took in a sharp breath, whipping around to face him. With his eyebrows scrunched, he tilted his head in confusion as to what you were doing.

"Ww-What are you doing?" He asked as you felt your cheeks turn red. With your head downcast, you felt tears come to your eyes. You backed up slowly until you sat down on your bed.

Your father walked over and sat down next to you. placing his hand over yours in order to comfort you. "What were you doing darling?"

You sniffed before letting out a small sob, loki threw his arms around you as a reflex to this. You continued to sob into his chest for a while. He rocked you back and forth as ran his fingers through your dark wavy hair. Shushing you from time to time.

Eventually you calmed down. Pulling away from your father, you looked at him tearfully. He looked deep into your emerald green eyes before asking the question again.

"What were you doing?" He asked in a soft tone, his asgardian accent ringing in your ears. You took in a deep breath before confessing.

"I...really, hate the way i look." Loki looked surprised at this, brushing a strand of hair away from your face. "Why?"

"Im afraid that if im too fat I'll never get a partner...and if i dont loose some weight no boy/girl will love me..." you said sadly. Your father again, looked shocked at this.

"Y/n, darling, your not fat, your not even overweight in the slightest...did, someone tell you these lies?"

"No, not really i just...i want boys/girls to like me, and i just, I just dont like the way i look. Its ugly and-"

"I beg your pardon?" Loki interrupted, 'Ugly' he hated that word. "Tell me, why in the world you would think that?"

"I dont know! Okay!?" You shouted, "i dont know why i feel this way! Just go away!" You yelled in frustration. He placed a hand on your shoulder. Remaining calm as your mood switched quickly.

He sighed and pulled you close to him, you again started to sob into him. He pulled away from this gentle touch for a moment to lie down on his back, extending and arm to invite you in.

You rested your head on his chest as he held you close to him as you both continued to stare at the ceiling.

You allowed yourself to drift off in his arms, your chest rising and falling as you slept.

He had a maid draw you a warm bath when you awoke from your deep slumber. He also made you your favorite meal when you got out of the tub.

Over a few weeks, you felt at peace with your body, with your soul, with your mind.

Forgotten (Robert "Bob" Floyd Drabble)

Whumpuary 2023: Prompt 1. Failed Escape

Summary: Bob has been forgotten or overlooked his entire life. But it never really mattered…. until now.

No one ever remembered the name Robert “Bob” Floyd. They would read it on their roster or on his file and have no recollection of the face that went along with it, even when he was standing right in front of them. And when they saw him in the halls or in the rec room, everyone always whispered, “Do you know who that guy is?” even after he had been training with them for weeks. He was the sort of person who seemed to only exist when he purposefully drew attention to himself.

But this was nothing new. Bob had been experiencing this for his entire life long before he joined the Naval Academy. His mother used to say that he was special in ways others couldn’t understand. His brother used to say he was boring. Yet, whatever the reason, he had come to accept that he would spend his life in total anonymity while he blended in with the wallpaper. After all, being noticed wasn’t the most important thing in life. 

And while this was true, being noticed was very necessary in some cases….

The last day of boot camp was a team exercise where everyone was strapped into seats in an old fuselage. The fuselage was then lowered into a pool of water where all the cadets would have to undo their harnesses and escape. It was meant to simulate a pilot being shot down into a lake or ocean and the need to evacuate a sinking plane. 

All the cadets found their seats and strapped in before having their harnesses examined for safety one last time. Then, once everything was set, the fuselage was lowered into the water. For the instructors watching from dry land, nothing happened for a moment. Then, heads began to break through the surface of the water as the pilots gasped for air. As more and more of them made it out, they all cheered and the instructors helped them out of the water.

Ten minutes later, they were sure everyone had gotten out. All the cadets looked around and didn’t see anyone missing. The instructors scanned the roster and didn’t notice anyone not accounted for. It was only when one of the safety crew members asked for an official headcount that people started to realize something was wrong. They were short one cadet, though no one for the life of them could figure out who. 

It wasn’t until they pulled the fuselage out of the water and looked inside that everyone remembered that there was one recruit previously unaccounted for. One recruit who was still strapped into his chair with his glasses peeking out of his front pocket and his wet hair plastered against his pale face. One recruit in the very last seat who’s safety harness no one had bothered to check before the exercise and had failed to open. One recruit who even as they stared at his lifeless body, no one could remember the name of.

Well, after that day, no one involved ever forgot the name Robert “Bob” Floyd again.

MHA Minoru Mineta x Reader - Facade

Summary: Mineta apologizes to you after making fun of you in class.

Warnings: Period, anxiety, depression, anger

A/N: Please don’t leave any rude comments about Mineta or me writing for Mineta, your comment will be blocked, and you will be blocked. 

Quirk: Gail Force. Your quirk is a mutation of your lungs that lets you hold intense amounts of air for long periods of time, and release it into a powerful gust of wind.

You rolled your eyes as you shifted in your seat. Class was dragging on for what seemed seemed like forever and the hard plastic of your seat was doing nothing to ease your discomfort. Quietly, you slipped your hand into your bag and tried to discreetly retrieve a bottle of Midol from the front pocket. Just as you were about to free the small plastic object, it slipped from your grasp, falling to the ground with a deafening rattle. Suddenly, you’d captured the attention of every pair of eyes in the room, having disturbed the silent study period with your futile attempt at alleviating your pain. Snickers and laughter erupted from the room, cloaking you in embarrassment.

“Miss (L/N), you know private medications aren’t allowed in my classroom. If you need something, take it to the office, please.” Cementos bellowed, cocking a brow at you before calming the class. Flustered, you stood up, grabbing your bag, along with the bottle.

“Oh, don’t worry, I’ll go to the office, don’t expect me back.” you snapped, ignoring his protests. As the rest of the class calmed down, you noticed a small group of boys in the corner, still snickering and carrying on. Turning around, you of course found none other than Kaminari, Bakugou, and Mineta. Considering this was a mixed General Studies class, neither Kirishima, or Sero were there to wrangle them as they usually did. You rolled you eyes and huffed, trying your best to ignore them ignoring them.

“Aw, c'mon, hun, lighten up!” Denki giggled, making light of your plight, catching your attention. “You can talk to me, ya know, if your having a rough time period!”

“Can in, Short Circit. And that goes for both of you too.” you snapped, glaring harshly at the trio.

Bakugo smirked before nudging his blonde friend. “You better shut it, Dunce Face, she might try to blow you if you piss her off.” His perverted joke made your blood boil as hot, enraged tears began to pool in your eyes. Before turning away to storm out, you screamed one more time at him, not even caring what pathetic excuse of an insult spilled out.

“Fuck off, Bakugo!”

Mineta had stayed quiet through the display of aggression, and for a moment, you had hoped it was because he disapproved of his friends’ taunts and wanted to say something. After a moment of conflicted thought, he finally did. “What, are you like on the rag or something?”

At that moment, all your hope in him shattered and you ran from the classroom. Mineta had never treated you the way he did the other girls. For some reason, he’d always been nice to you when he bothered to interact, which was rare. He never jumped at the opportunity to toss some cheesy pick up line at you or look up your skirt. Even during the room tours that your class held at the beginning of the semester, all he did was compliment your choice of décor.

You begrudgingly wept through the hallway, having had to take your medicine in Recovery Girl’s office. She guiltily gave you a hot pack and a peck on the forehead, and sent you on your way, excusing you from class for the day. As you reached your dorm, you threw open the door, slamming it behind you, and collapsed on your bed, curling up , clinging to the hot pack for dear life. Sleep soon found you and relieved you of your pain, if only for a bit.

You awoke to a soft knocking at your door. You shouted to the source, telling it to go away, only for the nocking to quicken in tempo. Groaning, you got out of bed and trudged to the door, forcefully swinging it open and letting loose a powerful sigh. To your disgust, Mineta was standing there with a plastic bag in hand. “What do you want?” You spat down at him.

He looked you up and down, his mouth slightly agape. “(L/N), were you asleep?”

“So what?”

His brows furrowed and he looked your disheveled form up and down, at your feet specifically. “You’re still wearing your uniform, even your shoes.”

“And?” you cocked a brow, crossing your arms. Mineta shook his head, and pulled the bag up.

“Look, I wanted to apologize for what I said, and for what the guys said. I was just trying to fit in…and it was stupid of me to hurt your feelings to look cool. I know it doesn’t make up for it, but I went out to the corner store and got you some stuff.”

You blushed slightly as he began to ramble, slightly pushing past you, as he tended to when on a tangent. You followed him into your room as he pushed you onto your desk chair. He opened the chair and began pulling items out and explaining them at length.

“I got you some more of that medicine you had in class, I didn’t know what you used, so I got you the highest dosage of the named brand, I guess that works best, right?” He set a small bottle on the desk before his hand dove back in. “And I think it has one of those little cotton balls in it to keep it quiet, in case you drop it or something, it won’t draw attention.”

You began to speak, but he continued on, determined to list his arsenals of gifts before letting you come to a conclusion. “Also, Sero told me that Momo told him that girls like sweets and candy, especially chocolate, but I didn’t know what you liked, so I got a few different ones, and some fruity gummies, in case you don’t like chocolate. Oh, and I got you some drinks too, some water,  and a bottle of juice.” Mineta continued to dig through the bag, ignoring your attempts to grab his attention at this point. “What else is there? Oh, I got you some..uh…things but i didn’t know what you used, so I got a couple variety packs. Oh, and-”

“Mineta!”

The boy’s attention snapped to you, blushing a bit from embarrassment. “W-Wait, I got more-”

“Mineta, that’s enough.” Your eyes softened a bit. “Thank you.”

“You don’t wanna see the rest of it? I got you soft lotion for your feet and they didn’t have heating pads, so I made you one out of a sock and some beans and-”

You giggled a bit. “Mineta, why did you go out and spend your money on all this?”

He thought for a second, before answering flatly. “Because I like you.” His reply caught you be complete surprise. You figured he had just felt guilty.

“You…like me? As in like you have a crush on me?”

“Well, yeah. I guess it’s like that. I’ve always been the type to take what I could get as far as dating went, but when I met you, things changed. The truth is, I don’t really like the type of guy I used to be, always trying to hit on different girls, ya know? I had a talk with Kirishima a while back and it really opened my eyes to how terrible I was being to everyone.
