I know we don't see Charun, but I think the cave hive Joey and Xefros explore is supposed to be theirs! And the bee place being Zebede's! So I'm not sure I'd say they got "retconned" but maybe "cut from the game due to lack of money or something." (not to be pedantic sorry lmao)

I don't think it's a lack of money. There is actually a lot of datamined stuff with Zebede and Charun that was cut- It seems more likely that Something happened that made them unable or unwilling to use those designs, and so instead they made those sections be abandoned.

It IS their place, yeah! But since there's no Troll to populate them any longer, everything else relating to them- Including sigil, is kiiiinda in limbo. So having a new troll with their same sigil? That just tells me Charun is kaput for real.
