✉️ I feel insane for writing this >_< literally just something about this man I guess… enjoy my loves

“You’re so lucky to have a boyfriend like him,” was always the first thing people told you when they would meet Hanbin. The way their eyes would scan over him: his pretty face and kind smile as he greeted them, a hand resting on the small of your back to make it clear to the person that both you and him were taken. If he weren’t so polite, barely uttering a word or two to a friend of yours, you would’ve gotten jealous at how much attention he attracted. But of course, his mother had raised him to have a personality that would fit the perfect genes his father had given him.
It was easy to assume that he was out of your league, especially when you first met him, although he never made you feel that way. Hanbin made sure you knew how you were the only one for him–how you were the only woman who had the entirety of his being and praised you for simply existing. And the truth was, you really were lucky. Lucky to have found someone capable of so much love and someone that complimented you like he was made for you. It was as if the two of you were cut from the same cloth because even from the first interaction, he understood you better than anyone else and when he had laughed, those cute whisker dimples appearing on his skin, you were a goner.
“YN won the lottery,” your best friend had laughed when you had shown her the picture of the man who had asked you on a date after the smallest interaction in the coffee shop.
Laying on her bed, fuzzy socks clad on your feet and 13 Going on 30 playing in the background, you had popped another kernel of popcorn in your mouth as you rolled closer to her. “Right?” as you take your phone back from her, another text from Hanbin alerted on your screen. You grinned, “I don’t know what I did in my past life, but I am grateful for it now.”
Your friend laughs as she sinks into the pillows at the head of her bed, “Keep working that magic to make him fall in love with you.”
“I don’t know, he already seemed head-over-heels when he asked me out.”
She scoffed as Jennifer Garner kissed a young Mark Ruffalo on the TV.
“That’s gonna be you guys someday, getting married. God, YN, I swear if you don’t marry that man–”
“Shh, I just met him,” you giggled and your friend offered her free hand to you.
Halfheartedly, you high-fived her. “Exactly. The rest of it should be easy.”
And it was. The next night with Hanbin only solidified it, and being with him finally introduced you to what a loving, healthy relationship should be. You made each other happy, and it was like no other person existed to the two of you. Years passed, and you both graduated from university, got a place together, and moved in, settling down and solidifying your jobs.
None of your friends were surprised when Hanbin popped the question to you privately on the deck of the overwater bungalow you were staying in on your fourth-anniversary trip to Fiji. Or at the fact that you had said yes.
It was a dream come true getting married to him. Your wedding day was everything you had wanted since you were a little girl, especially the groom, and for two more years, the two of you were enough. Until Hanbin started talking about getting you pregnant.
Folded at the waist over the marble countertop of your shared kitchen, your husband groans loudly as he buries his length deep inside of you again. Your walls flutter weakly around him, his pace slow and harsh as you feel the veins of his length drag along the inside of your cunt. Hanbin’s grip against the back of your waist is bruising and all you can do is call out his name as one of his hands reaches around you to push against your lower stomach, feeling himself push into you again and again.
The pressure has you seeing stars and Hanbin coos softly, “Yeah, baby, let me take care of you… I’ll take such good care of you, just let go and feel it for me.”
“Binnie!” you cry out, feeling that coil inside you getting ready to snap and Hanbin pants heavily.
“‘M here, my love, I’m here,” he gasps out, thumb brushing over the hardened bud of your clit and you don’t have to see him to know he’s smirking as your orgasm hits you. As you ride out your high, his hand drifts over the soft part of skin just above your mound, his hips slamming into yours much faster.
“You’d look so pretty pregnant,” he mutters under his breath and you gasp softly. “Wanna put a baby in you, breed you so good and see your tummy get round–” Hanbin has to stop himself and he lets out a choked moan. The overstimulation’s beginning to hit you, but you can’t find yourself to care, your fuzzy mind filled with thoughts of him having you in a way no one has had you before. No one other than him would be able to have you.
“Give it to me,” you grit out, slowly losing what little you have left of your composure. “I’ll give you a baby–”
He’s releasing inside of you before you can utter anything else.
It only gets worse after that impromptu session that random Wednesday morning. You knew Hanbin had great stamina, but clearly, you underestimated how high his sex drive could actually get. More often than not you were waking up with his head between your thighs, his tongue lazily flicking your clit as he begged you to give him some relief before he had to leave for the day. He had you working your hips over him whenever you tried to sit next to him on the couch, had your mouth around him while he was driving you both home from work, was joining you in the shower any chance he got–he was insatiable.
Things increased tenfold when you both attended your niece’s fourth birthday party. It was strange to you that throughout the few hours you’d spent there, Hanbin hadn’t approached you once, opting to spend time with your brother-in-law and father, which was extremely unlike him. Normally, he would be attached to your hip, but it was your niece who was held in your arms for those few hours, demanding your whole attention. You missed the way Hanbin’s eyes darkened just in the slightest as you so effortlessly picked up your niece, speaking to her softly and making her laugh.
It was so natural for you, and Hanbin felt that small voice in the back of his head that had been steadily growing louder the past few weeks finally snap. If he got any closer to see you like this, he wouldn’t be able to contain himself, so he watched you from a distance. The image painted in his mind of your niece having his nose, your eyes, his face shape, your smile– it was almost too much to bear. He was tense for the rest of the birthday party. And for the entirety of the car ride home.
Later that night, after you had already gotten ready for bed, sitting between the sheets as you waited for Hanbin to finish up in the bathroom while scrolling on your phone was when he finally brought the topic up.
“What d’you think about having kids?” he’d asked through the open bathroom door. The words caused you to look up from your phone immediately, your heart racing.
“I want them,” you started softly. “They’re a big responsibility though, I don’t just want to rush right into it…”
His head popped out from around the edge of the door and he looked so adorable, hair a fluffy mess and skin shining a bit from the moisturizer he’d just applied. “...Could we maybe start thinking about having them?”
You turn your phone off as the corners of your lips twitch into a smile, “How long have you been thinking about this, Bin?” His cheeks turn a light shade of pink as he turns off the light in the bathroom, entering the bedroom. You laugh softly as he shrugs and practically throws himself onto the bed.
“A while…” he admits shyly, burying his face into your stomach, your shirt separating him from your bare skin. “I want it so bad, though. I’m in love with you, I’ll always be in love with you, and I want you to be the mother of my children.”
“You can’t just say that–”
He laughs, “But it’s true!”
You’re silent for a moment, running your fingers through his hair, the sensation helping you gather your thoughts. When he looks up at you, eyes wide and pleading, you feel your resolve crumble, “Please?”
How are you supposed to say no to that?
“Well…” You have to look straight ahead, avoiding eye contact with him as you voice your thoughts for the sole point of not getting distracted. “We both want kids… and we’re financially stable…” Hanbin lets out soft hums of agreement at each thing you list, moving up your body until his face is right next to yours.
“Please let me get you pregnant.”
“Hanbin–” You try, but his lips are pressing against your neck and suddenly it’s so much harder to think.
“You’d look so pretty. Your belly full of our child and you wouldn’t have to lift a finger.” He mouths at a sensitive spot of skin and you arch your back to press your body closer to his. “I’d take such good care of you…”
“I’d… I’d still have to get off the pill.”
Hanbin chuckles, “I’d love you so good that your birth control wouldn’t stand a chance.” You let out a noise somewhere between a giggle and a moan as he pulls away from your neck, a smile on his face as you make eye contact with him.
“Then consider it done,” you whisper to him just before his lips meet yours.
The next day, you turn off your alarm for when you’re supposed to take the pill, and Hanbin’s more than happy to throw the little foil packet into the trash. And to fuck you on the bathroom counter afterward.
The first week of being off of birth control you get your period. It’s surprisingly nowhere as near as heavy as you expected, but it’s still annoying to deal with, except for Hanbin being the angel he is and comforting you through the first two days of the subtle pain. Bringing you your favorite snacks, cuddling you whenever you asked for it, and giving you massages. Even though this level of care was nothing new, Hanbin hadn’t hesitated to bring up how this was his practice for when you were pregnant. You had rolled your eyes at his words.
But when you start ovulating, it’s torture. The worst it’s been in a while, actually, and sitting at work all day, mind running a thousand miles a minute with thoughts of Hanbin, Hanbin, Hanbin and you wish you’d never gotten off of the pill. You shift in your seat, unable to focus on anything as you feel your panties cling to you, the slightest movement making you want to scream out in frustration.
when’re you gonna be done with work tonight?
Your husband responds almost immediately:
binnie!
Around 5
Why?
You grumble a little, sending him another message and trying to be as blunt as possible.
I’m so horny Hanbin
can’t believe I actually listened to you and went off the pill this is horrible
The three little dots appear and bounce around for a few moments only for four little words to pop up on your screen.
binnie!
Go to the bathroom
You’re getting up from your desk immediately, making your way to the family restroom and locking the door behind you just as Hanbin’s contact appears on your phone. You don’t hesitate to answer his call.
“Is it that bad?” is the first thing he asks and you squeeze your eyes shut, rubbing your temples with your free hand.
“Maybe I’m being a little dramatic, but I cannot focus on anything for the life of me– Hey, don’t laugh.”
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” he gets out between the sweet sounds of his laughter. Just hearing his voice is already making you feel better. He’s quiet for a moment after his chuckles die down, “Do you want help?”
A rush of arousal goes through you, “Please.”
“Okay, honey do whatever you need to do and I’ll stay on the phone with you–”
“Just– Keep talking,” you breathe out, your hand that’s not holding your phone undoing the button of your pants so you would have enough room to slip your hand into your panties. He laughs softly again and the sound practically has you gushing all over the fabric of your clothes.
Your fingers run through the wetness growing at your entrance, making sure you have enough lubrication before you begin circling your clit. “Oh, my sweet girl… You’re so good for me. Doing all of this so we can have a family.” You let out a small whimper and Hanbin coos gently, his voice low and intimate.
“I’ll make it so worth it, baby. You’re not gonna be leaving our bed at all tonight.” Your breaths are coming out in soft pants, struggling to control yourself as your movements quicken and your hips buck to meet your hand, practically humping your fingers. “‘M gonna come in you over and over and over again so there’s no chance that you won’t be pregnant by tomorrow.”
Your voice is breathy and you have to bite your tongue to stay quiet, “Please Binnie.”
“Tell me what you’re doing.” You swallow down a moan.
“Rubbing my clit. Trying to do it like you do but it’s hard,” you complain, trying to stay as quiet as possible as you run a finger over the hardened bud, only drawing yourself closer to your release.
“I’m here, baby, just keep doing what feels good,” Hanbin encourages and if your head wasn’t the slightest bit fuzzy, you would probably be able to hear the strain in his voice. You press a little harder and you feel your high beginning to creep up on you, leaning your head back against the bathroom wall.
“I’m gonna cum,” you whisper, holding on just for the sake of waiting for his permission.
Hanbin hums, “It’s okay, my sweet girl, let go.”
Your orgasm washes over you instantly and your teeth sink into the side of your cheek to prevent you from crying out, Hanbin’s soft praises helping you ride out the length of your high. When you finally calm down, Hanbin’s the first to speak.
“Feel better.” You smile weakly. “Much. Thank you.”
He chuckles, “It’s the least I can do. Are you sure you’re gonna be okay for the rest of the day?”
You pull your phone away from your face to look at the time, “Just a few more hours. If I need anything else I’ll just call you again.” The smile in his voice is evident.
“I hope you would,” he pauses for a moment. “I love you.”
It’s your turn to smile, it’s almost subconsciously, but you can’t help it. “I love you. I’ll see you when you come to pick me up.”
“I’ll see you soon,” he repeats back to you, before you end the call, giving yourself a moment alone to catch your breath and try to get your hormones under control.
Surprisingly, you’re able to get some things done for the rest of the day. Maybe it’s the motivation from being able to see your husband in just a few hours, but time doesn’t pass by nearly as slow as it did in the morning. Finally, you clock out, entering the parking garage after Hanbin messages you that he’d arrived. You’d never been so relieved to see his car in your life. And your heart rate increases tenfold when he gets out of the driver’s side, you traveling the short few steps before wrapping your arms around him tightly. The velvety sandalwood scent that clings to him infiltrates your senses and you let out a deep sigh, relaxing immediately.
He rubs your back, kissing your head softly, “I missed you.”
“Missed you more.” You pull away slightly to peck him on the lips, “Let’s go home?” At your suggestive tone, Hanbin smirks a little, never letting go of you as he makes his way around the front of the car, opening the passenger's side door for you.
“Let’s.”
You’ve never wanted to teleport so badly in your life, the car ride back to the house feeling like it stretched on longer than your entire work day. The best you could do to distract yourself from the longing growing inside of you again was watch as the city passed by, doing everything in your power to not look over at your husband because his hand resting on your thigh was more than enough. You figured that Hanbin must be as sexually frustrated as you, or at least the smallest bit with the way his fingers began to dig into your skin and the brief image of him gripping the steering wheel tightly. But to your disappointment, his impeccable control was still intact when you both entered your house.
Hanbin hadn’t pushed you up against the wall or bent you over the nearest surface, he’d simply taken off his shoes, then your own before walking towards the kitchen. You gaped a little, eventually following him while wondering what happened to that desperate man from a few weeks ago. All you could do was watch in disbelief as Hanbin dug around in the fridge, getting out some leftovers and warming them up before placing them in front of you.
“Eat.” You were getting tired of his one-word commands as you slid into one of the seats at the island counter, beginning to eat quickly. “Slow down a little, honey, I don’t want you to choke,” he laughed softly, reaching to hold your wrist and force you to relax your movements.
You tilt your head, “Hanbin.” He responds with a soft hum. “Do you really have to draw this out even more?”
“Do you remember what I said on the phone earlier?”
Carefully, you eat another mouthful of the food before answering, “That you were gonna take care of me.”
“I did say that,” he agrees, leaning on the counter with his hands. “What I meant, though, was how I’m not letting you leave our bed tonight.”
Oh. You didn’t think it was possible to feel even more turned on.
“And you’re not going to, so eat.” Your face flushes as you hesitantly resume eating. His warm brown eyes never leave you as the contents of the plate slowly disappear, and when you swallow the final bite, Hanbin is taking the plate away. He sets it by the sink and then before you can process where he is, you’re in his arms and his lips are pressing harshly against yours.
It’s like he’s trying to consume you as his mouth melds so perfectly against your own, his tongue slipping past your lips when you gasp at the suddenness to swirl around your mouth. You grip onto his shoulders tightly, scrunching his shirt under your palms as his hands find the undersides of your thighs, squeezing the skin as he begins to walk. The moments where he pulls away from kissing you are short-lived, only meant for taking in small breaths and to make sure he wasn’t going to run into a wall. He shifts your weight against him as he pushes the door to your bedroom open.
Your feet find the floor and Hanbin’s holding your face with his hand as his taste continues to fill your mouth, making your brain cloudy and full of thoughts of just him, him, him. Gently, you push at his chest, breaking the kiss to catch your breath, a small string of spit connecting your mouths. Hanbin smiles and your heart almost beats out of your chest.
His hands slide under the bottom of your shirt, caressing the soft skin of your waist as he begins guiding you backward.
“Needed you so badly today. You sounded so pretty on the phone my dick was hard for hours,” he groans before his lips land on your neck. Hanbin bites softly, leaving marks all over the expanse of your skin and when his teeth brush against a particularly sensitive spot, you yelp. His breath is warm against your neck as he sucks at the spot harshly before pulling away.
“Want it, Bin, want it so bad– Need you inside me.”
“Be patient,” he mumbles, but with the way his hands are instantly pulling at the hem of your shirt, you can tell that he doesn’t want to wait either. “And be careful with what you say.” His tone is heavy with lust as you fall back against the covers of your bed, the sheets a mess since neither of you had bothered to make it that morning.
“Either way I’m gonna get what I want,” you say as he tugs the straps of your bra down, muttering a few words of annoyance as he reaches behind you to undo the clasp.
His hands feel so big as he pulls the clothing in, his cheeks turning pink as he drinks in the sight of your bare chest. “And what is it you want?”
“Want your baby.” Hanbin practically groans at the three words, mouth lowering to the top of your tits to trail soft kisses in a horizontal line across them both.
A small moan leaves your lips, “Sounds like you want it as much as I do.” His pink lips are wrapping around one of your nipples, running his tongue over the bud and sucking to erect the nerves.
“‘M gonna make you a dad.” His fingers pinch harshly at your other nipple, which he quickly soothes by running the pad of his thumb over it. It was almost like a warning, but all it made you do was rub your thighs together, wanting more friction. When Hanbin removes himself from your nipple, it already feels sore, the skin red as he kisses it quickly. Then the other.
“Can’t wait to see your tits get all swollen. You gonna let me massage them? Let me make you feel better while your body grows our baby?”
“Yes,” you groan out eagerly, arching your back slightly to press your body closer to his.
“I know, baby, I know,” he reassures, rubbing your nipples in small circles as he kisses his way down your stomach. “You’re gonna be so relaxed, you’re gonna feel so good that you won’t even care how full you’re gonna be with my cum.”
“Please, Binnie,” you whine as his hands leave your breasts to undo your pants, pulling them down your legs impatiently along with your panties. He hums a little as his hands gently guide your thighs apart.
His thumb dips into your entrance just the smallest bit, collecting your wetness before spreading it all around your pussy, avoiding your clit. “Relax,” he repeats, kissing your inner thigh before wrapping his lips around your clit. Hanbin’s tongue flicks quickly over your most sensitive spot, making you cry out and your hand shoots down to hold him against you.
“You taste so good,” he mumbles against you, and the vibration has you reeling, bucking your hips toward his face. The tip of his tongue teases you, gently moving the bud back and forth as you feel spit run down from your clit to your entrance, making your opening even more messy. Hanbin sucks on the hard little nub as his middle finger begins to work its way into you, the thrusts deep and slow as he eases you open. The sounds of his finger pumping into your pussy and his slurping against your clit make you cry out louder, and you prop yourself up onto one of your elbows to get a better view of him.
His eyes are already on you, pupils blown wide. “You’re so pretty, Binnie. Mouth feels s’good,” you slur, running your hand through his hair, and your praise has him pushing another finger into you. “God! Make me cum, Bin– Make me cum,” you whine as he stops sucking on you, flattening his tongue and lapping at you, fingers speeding up and curling so perfectly that your wetness is gushing around him.
Every time he eats you out, he acts like a starved man. Desperate for your attention and desperate for your pleasure as he ruts against the bed every so slightly, eyes falling shut as he takes your clit back into his mouth. The pressure has you practically sobbing and you feel yourself clench around his digits when a third finger brushes against your hole.
“Y’gonna cum already?” Hanbin teases and you let out a frustrated grumble.
“I’ve been waiting for this all day, don’t tease me.”
He thrusts his fingers into you roughly and you’re falling apart around him, his thumb resting on your clit to give you enough friction to enjoy your orgasm as his face comes back to hover over yours.
“Was thinking about your pussy all day too, baby, no need to get angry.”
“‘M not angry, I just need you to fuck me.” Hanbin chuckles and his lips meet yours in an opened mouth kiss, the taste of you heavy on his tongue. He pulls away just enough to slip his shirt over his head as your shaking, weak hands fumble with his belt. Soothingly, he kisses you again, taking your hands in his own and placing them on his shoulders before he takes care of the rest of his clothes himself.
You want to cry in relief when you feel his tip run along your entrance, collecting the wetness that had seeped out of you from your previous orgasm. “Ready?”
“Please,” you whine and Hanbin doesn’t hesitate to slowly push his length into you. Both of you are moaning as he fills you up, that itch you’d needed to scratch all day finally subsiding as the weight of him rests inside your pussy, letting you adjust around him. You both kiss lazily for a moment as you relax. “You can move,” you finally whisper into his mouth.
Hanbin’s hands wrap around your calves gently as he guides them towards your face, your thighs pressing against your chest and allowing him to get deeper inside of you as he begins to fuck into you. “My wife, only for me, right?”
He starts at a borderline painfully slow pace, getting lost in the feeling of your velvety walls wrapped around him so tightly and enjoying how you’re pinned underneath him. Your hands clutch at the sheets beneath you, mouth falling open at the steadiness and precision his hips have as his knees dig into the mattress.
“Only– f’you, Binnie!”
“Mhm.” And if it weren’t for the way his eyebrows are slightly furrowed, you would think your fluttering walls around him weren’t even affecting him. “All mine. All mine to love, and to fuck, and to get pregnant.”
“Ah!” You cry out as he begins forcing into you at a faster pace. “Yes! Need it~ Need you to fill me up–”
“Keep your eyes on me,” Hanbin demands, his drag along your walls ruthless and everything feels so intimate. His fingers find your clit again, rubbing it harshly and flicking it side to side, trying to build up your pleasure so you can’t focus on anything else. He pulls out to the tip, pushing into you again and he feels a rush of your arousal spill around his length, causing him to moan as well. “Want this forever, baby. You don’t understand–”
“Yes, please, forever,” you blabber, so dick-drunk and gone already. He chuckles, tongue slipping out to lick at the sweat building up on his upper lip. “Baby… Baby~”
“I know, sweet girl, I’m gonna give it to you,” Hanbin reassures, hand leaving your calf to press against your abdomen. “Feel how deep I am? That’s where I’m gonna finish, ‘s where you’re gonna get all round and full with our baby and– Fuck,” he curses, feeling you clench tightly around him.
He looks at your dazed eyes, love evident in his expression and it almost feels like it’s too much. But you want it, you want it so bad, the images of him holding your baby consuming your mind and you pant out little, ‘Ah-Ah-Ah’s weakly. Hanbin’s thrusts slow a bit, but with the way he’s hitting that spot inside of you every time, you don’t really notice that much.
“Oh yeah, you like that so much, don’t you?”
“Please.” Is all you can manage, reaching up to hold his face with your hands, desperate for something to ground you as he begins to fuck into you at a faster speed again. Hanbin kisses you gently, a complete contrast from the way he’s moving inside of you and rubbing you and he’s never been like this before but you do–you like it so much.
His upper body comes to cover yours as he removes his hand from your clit, resting his elbows on either side of your head so he can see your face as you approach your high. “‘M close–”
“Cum for me,” he gets out, hips moving to provide you as much pleasure as possible, feeling himself near his orgasm as well. “Cum for me, I’m right behind you.”
You moan out his name loudly as you fall over the edge, nose pressed against his as his eyes stare into your own. Hanbin’s mouth drops open a bit as he feels you cum around him, burying himself inside of you as he releases as well. The warmth of his cum inside of you has you whimpering slightly, both of you breathing heavily as you catch your breath for a moment. Hanbin pulls out of you with a small ‘pop’– looking down to watch as his release leaks out of you.
A soft sob leaves your lips as his fingers gather the liquid, forcing it back into you. “Shh, shh, shh,” he shushes you, and you flinch at the overstimulation, hips jerking away from him a bit. Which he clearly doesn’t like, his hands pinning your hips down as he fits his length into you again.
“Don’t run away from it…” he trails off, leaning over to kiss you sweetly. “We want it to take, right? I don’t care if I have to handcuff you to the bed, ‘m gonna make sure you’re pregnant by tomorrow morning.” And when you feel Hanbin begin to weakly buck into you again, you know he’s not lying.

Hanbin’s collarbone was burning, which, despite the pain, was a good sign. His tattoos were reacting to a signal that only you could have put out. And he knew that you were coming home, back to him.
It had been a few years since you had been sent out on your mission by the elders. Hanbin had never worried about you making it back to him. You dying from a mission was a ridiculous notion, no matter how dangerous the task was. You always rose above your station and completed every commission you were given. But the years you had been apart from him, although barely even worth counting, had started to become noticeable to him.
Compared to the hundreds of years you had been united with him, a couple years gone on a mission was almost nothing. But with time had grown fondness, and Hanbin couldn’t help the way his heart yearned for you.
As the burning grew more intense and his tattoos glowed brightly, he knew it was only a matter of minutes before you were back in his arms. He waited with baited breath on the top of his tower, eyes sharply focused for any bat that emerged from the forest. Exactly 8 minutes later, he saw the silhouette of one.
He rubbed his palm against his sternum, subsiding the pain that had grown to its worst. The cost of uniting two vampire’s souls in hopes of greater power was an equal amount of pain. Hanbin held out his hands, and the bat landed carefully on them. It slumped forward a second after, completely exhausting its energy. Hanbin cupped it gently, and carried it inside.
“I told you not to fly with the pain. Now you’re stuck.” He scolded the bat as he placed it on the soft bed. He closed his eyes in concentration, and with his right hand flattened over his moon tattoo, slowly summoned his power. The ink glowed, and so did the palm of his hand.
He moved his hand to the bat's head, ignoring the screech it let out as he let the magic flow through its body. A few seconds of writhing around later, the bat shapeshifted back into its vampire form.
“You couldn’t have been a little gentler with that? You nearly suffocated me.” You coughed, shooting a glare at the man dressed in black. He handed you a robe with a shake of his head, and you wrapped it around your bare body.
“Would you rather live as a bat for the next thousand years? You should be thankful.” He tsked, averting his gaze from your figure so as to try to not seem so obvious. You had called him out many times for his bad habit of staring.
“All you do is nag me. Someone needs to shut you up.” You stood up, grabbing Hanbin’s wrist before he could continue making moves to leave the room.
“As if you’d survive a day without a word from me.” He countered, red eyes shining a bit brighter at your touch. He hadn’t felt his magic surge so powerfully since the last time you had been back.
“I survived a few years. A few more days would be a piece of cake.” You replied, pulling his face down before he could think of another witty response.
Maybe it was the familiarity of it all that made you feel as if nothing had changed. Hanbin’s lips tasted just like you remembered. Exactly the same as the many nights you had imagined it in hopes of soothing the ache in your heart. Coming back to Hanbin meant coming back to a missing part of your soul. The longer you were separated from each other, the weaker you both became. And, as the reverse, the closer you were, the stronger. That is why the elders were so pleased with your clearly undying infatuation with each other.
Hanbin’s former reprove towards you completely melted away the moment his lips made contact with yours. The clash of soft lips and sharp fangs stole all his breath, clouding his brain with only one thought: relief. Restlessness always followed him when you were away. Your weak state when you landed in his hand filled him with worry, but feeling your kiss now gave him consolation.
He pulled away breathlessly, and a satisfied smirk lifted on his lips, just wide enough to uncover one of his fangs. You looked at his face, admiring his gleaming eyes, bruised lips, pearly teeth, and smooth skin. Your gaze dropped slightly lower, eyeing the marking on his collarbone, of which you also displayed below the dip of your neck.
You pressed a small kiss to the sun, which granted Hanbin his strength and surged his magic. Next, your lips found the star, which allowed him to cast complex spells, both to aid in combat or alter the very fabric of time. Lastly, you grazed the moon emblem which stored his healing abilities. With it, he was easily able to nurse you back to health within seconds. Pulling him closer again, you travelled up to his neck and teasingly nipped at his skin.
“Did you not get your fill of biting people while on your mission? You’re insatiable.” He commented in amusement. The sensation pricked his skin with a whisper of pain that was soon soothed completely by your lips. Although he would gladly let you have free rein over him for as long as you wanted, one glance at the time urged him to pull you off of him gently.
“We should announce your return to Seungwoo and the others. They’ve been expecting you.” He urged you, and a flash of pride showed in his eyes. You were sure to be rewarded generously for your excellence during the past few years you were gone. Now more than ever, Hanbin felt fortunate that he was intertwined with you in every function of life. For, even your very souls laced together perfectly.

OK SO WHAT IF.. hanbin has lots of patience, as in ALOT. but one day, you decided to test it and get him pissed off by making him jealous, so of course, he punishes you! he turns mean & rough instead of the usual sweet, kind of mean dom he is 🤭 degrading & praise combined too!
im a firm believer that hanbin is very very stern. he has a lot of self control and he doesn't give in easily. i've given my friend like a full on comparison of how i think hanbin is as a dom vs jiwoong cuz in my mind they're complete opposites (lmk if y'all wanna hear what i think) but yeah like hanbin can keep his cool for sure. he doesn't give in to your tactics easily because if he tells you to wait or if he tells you to be patient then he expects u to respect that. usually he's able to laugh off your advances or he'll give u a warning and usually things like that help, they at least get u to settle down but if u just keep on pushing it he won't be able to keep it together. he doesn't play about the jealousy stuff, ur his baby and only his baby. he knows ur gorgeous so other guys looking at you or even throwing little flirts at u usually isn't a huge problem for him, he may say smth slick but it's usually not a big deal. but when you're the one showing off and flaunting it with other guys he's like??? it very quickly goes from "aww that's so cute" to him being very very unhappy with you. he'd for a second thing that you're just feeling yourself but when you go as far as to lean in close with another guy or even put your hand on the other guys chest or smth while u laugh,,, yeah he's not having it.
he'd stay back at first, watching you with the most stern look on his face. he's mad as hell and you know he is too, you could feel him burning a hole in the side of your head. when you walk back over to him he'd pretty much have a forever frown pasted on his face. what would really get him to the point of just being straight up mean is that you act dumb when you come back to him. you're asking him what's wrong knowing Exactly what the problem is. he wouldn't even be able to look at you, he'd just be like, "say bye, we're leaving." and he's dragging u out to the car. he's not gonna talk the entire car ride but his body language does enough talking. his hand would grip the steering wheel extra hard and his eyes would be dark and worst of all he would not be looking at you the entire time 😭
when u guys get in the house is when he finally talks. he'd let you take your shoes off, he'd let you place your purse on the hook, he'd hang up the keys and take his shoes off as well and then he'll just watch you. he'll watch how you fiddle, how you look so shameful all of a sudden and he'll just scoff. he'll tell you to get on the bed, his voice would be so stern, almost echoing off the walls as if he yelled at you. he'd tease u so much when u do things like this, he'd have no remorse for you. he'd lazily pull your clothes apart, probably tearing the material in the process. he'd mark you up so much too, you'd have those deep deep colored hickeys all over your body. he'd say things like, "show these to that guy you were talking to. what was so interesting about him anyways?" and he'll have you explain to him what you were talking to him about and he'd break you down to the point where you have to admit that you were just trying to get hanbin's attention. he'd laugh at you, pulling your legs apart slowly. he's mean in times like this, not giving in when you beg and definitely not when you cry, if anything when you're crying he gets even meaner. taunting you and calling you names, saying things like, "what happened to that little act earlier? isn't that why you're here now? wanted to act like a slut infront of other guys.. thought i taught you better than that." he has a crazy amount of stamina in times like this, his thrusts stay sharp and harsh, making you cum faster than you ever have before. he holds you down too, the way you squirm annoying him.
he'll only soften up at the end after you're completely fucked out, covered in his cum and yours, he'll kiss you gently, helping you get all cleaned up. he's the best at aftercare, no matter how mad he was before he'll be so so sweet and gentle and make sure you know you're loved by him <3

invisible string ʚĭɞೃ⟡

HIII i’m so sorry this took me so long i just didn’t wanna be unemployed after i’m done with my series so i decided to keep this in the drafts for a while 😞 i hope you’ll like this!
PAIRING sung hanbin x gn!reader
GENRE fluff, sfw
MASTERLIST

hanbin is a responsible bf, so you can definitely let loose when you’re around him!
he will always makes you feel safe
when you go out on dates with him, he would always silently take your handbag off of your shoulder and carry them himself 😞
his nicknames for you are usually the common ones, baby, my baby, angel, and i think he’d most commonly use 내 사랑 (nae sarang/my love) because it’s so endearing to give your s/o a nickname in your own mother tongue am i right
but he prefers calling you by your name, bc he thinks your name is already pretty
constantly complimenting you
you get your work done and he’s like “good job baby” and then he’d kiss your cheek
you finish mopping the floors and he’s like “you worked so hard today my love, thank you”
the type of boyfriend that will give you legitimate answers to your “would you still love me if i was a worm?” questions
one time you asked him what he would do if you turned into a snail one day
and he told you he’d have to build you nice house where you would be comfortable living in
drives your around ALL the time
he would freak out if you offered him gas money because he really doesn’t mind spending his time, energy, and money with you :(
if you gave him a $10 cash he would applepay you $15
i think hanbin is a great cook, so eating out is very rare for you both because he’s always cooking up a meal for the both of you
if you don’t like a certain taste (sour, salty, sweet, etc) he’d make sure to alter the recipe a little so you’d both be able to enjoy the meal together
hanbin would be cutting up some vegetables, and then you’d come up to him and ask for a kiss, and he would gladly give you a quick kiss before resuming with the meal prep
conflicts with him rarely ever happens
he’s so good at communicating, and he’s just so gentle there’s really nothing to be mad about with him
he trusts you, and he feels secure in the relationship so he never really asks you about your whereabouts. you’re free to hangout with anyone!
all of your friends loves hanbin. he treats you so well, and he’s so polite and can mix around with them, so he’s practically in your friend group too
when you DO get into fights with hanbin, the fight never lasts longer than 2 days. he either apologises first if he realised that he’s in the wrong, or he’ll talk to you and explain why he felt like he was wronged
plus, even when the two of you are fighting, he’d still cook you a good dinner, and you’d still help him clean up all the things he used to make the meal 😭
also on nights where you both had heated arguments, if the situation was okay, he would still wrap his arms around you while you sleep
hanbin never go all out for anniversaries though
rather than fancy dinner date or a big gesture to show his love, it’s more domestic and meaningful
hanbin prefers celebrating your anniversaries together with things like giving you a photobook of all the moments that you’ve spent together
of course he’d buy you a gift too, but his main idea of anniversaries are more domestic
one time he rearranged your house and made a candlelight dinner all by himself for your anniversary, candles, silk tablecloth, fancy steak, he did that all by himself
whenever you get sick, he’d feel bad leaving you alone while he goes to work but duty calls!!!
he would make you text him and update him every 3 hours so that he knows you’re eating well and taking your medicines on time
when HE’S sick he tells you not to worry about him and then he would get flustered when he finds out that you cooked him some healthy soupy foods for him to eat
he thinks you’re so cute when you’re worried over him getting a stupid little cold
when he gets better he would give you so many kisses and cooing at how cute you were when you were taking care of him
honestly he’s always kissing you somewhere, or you’re always kissing him somewhere, it doesn’t matter. he loves kisses
when you say something funny he would laugh and then bring your hand to his lips for no reason?? when you ask him why he’s just like “you’re so funny i just had to kiss you”
when you’re showing him the new top you just bought and then he would just pull you in to kiss the top of your head bc why not
when you kiss him first his ears will go red
he would even be like “why’d you do that”
when you say you just wanted to kiss him he’d giggle and would call you adorable
“my partner is so adorable today, i wonder what’s got into them?”

"𝙃𝙚'𝙨 𝙜𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙢𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙮"
You don't know when it started, or how it happened, but if someone told you that you; the top student of not only your class but your entire school and the perfect role model for students in lower grades. That you would catch feelings for the delinquent student in your class, you'd call them crazy.
But no matter how much you tried to deny it, you couldn't help but catch feelings for him. 𝘚𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘏𝘢𝘯𝘣𝘪𝘯. Everyone was weary of him, scared of him even. He never listened in class, opting to either cause trouble with the teacher or sleep the class away, he was always getting into fights that caused him to end up in the nurse's office. It's a wonder how they hadn't expelled him yet.
You originally disliked Sung Hanbin, how could you not, with everything you heard about him and seeing his actions you declared him a bad person, someone to stay away from otherwise it could tarnish your chance at a good future. But it's funny how life just seemed to constantly pull you two together, and because of it, here you are now. In love with the delinquent student that just a few weeks ago, you swore to stay away from.
"𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙨 𝙢𝙚 𝙤𝙛𝙛, 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙄'𝙫𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙬𝙤 𝙡𝙚𝙛𝙩 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙩"
It all started when your teacher tasked you with tutoring a student, and you agreed. Because it'd be nice to help another student out, especially considering you didn't wanna drown yourself away by just studying every day. But that was the first time you interacted with Sung Hanbin and got a taste of his personality.
"Hi miss, you wanted to ask me something?" You stood in front of your teacher's desk, the older woman smiling up at you. "Ah yes, say Y/N, would you be interested in helping a student out by tutoring them? They are currently falling behind in my class and i would like them to catch up. And since you're the top student of our school, i couldn't think of a more suitable student!" She laughed as she finished her sentence, earning a smile from you.
"I'd love too, when do you want me to start tutoring them?" You asked, fixing your clothes by straightening them out a bit. This was exciting for you, of course, you had a ton of friends but you always chose to stay inside and study. It's what your parents wanted after all, they just wanted a bright future for you and you wanted to make them proud. And having you tutoring someone means you can make your record look much more appealing as well.
"If you aren't doing anything today, i can ask them to meet you in the library after school?" She suggested, and you nodded. After all, you didn't actually have anything to do besides study. "That's perfect, thank you miss" You thanked her again and said your goodbyes before attending your next class, much more eager to meet this student.
Inside the library, you found a nice desk tucked away in a corner and began to place your necessary materials and supplies to tutor this mystery student you were eager to meet. You didn't really mind if it was a boy or a girl, just glad that you had something to preoccupy your time after school now.
Humming to yourself happily, you heard the library door open and close, followed by muffled, distant voices. You couldn't make out who one of the voices was, but you could recognize the librarian's voice. Then when you heard footsteps approaching, followed by a bag dropping to the floor in the chair across from you, you looked up. Eyes locking with Sung Hanbin.
You internally groaned and cried, feeling your heart drop. "Really? Sung Hanbin......." You thought to yourself, wanting to shrivel up and die right on the spot. You should've guessed it would be him, after all, he didn't exactly pay attention in classes and his grades weren't the best.
"I'm tutoring you?" You said blankly, staring up at him. Hanbin nodded his head, taking a seat in the chair across from you. Regret started bubbling up in your chest, now you were stuck having to tutor the school's troublemaker every week. But you thought that as long as you limited interactions with him, you could make it through this and never speak to him again! Yes, that's what you'd do.
Oh you couldn't have been more wrong. You started seeing Hanbin outside your tutoring sessions, specifically outside of school, the convenience store you frequented in your free time to get snacks and other treats was now a hotspot to see him.
A groan found its way past your lips as you opened the doors of the convenience store, eyes landing on a familiar face. "Seriously, why is he everywhere" You mumbled to yourself, choosing to avoid him. But it's like fate had other plans, because when you turned a corner to enter another aisle, when you came face to face with him.
"Oh, hi" Hanbin said, looking at you. You could tell he looked a bit surprised to see you there, while your face showed a look of annoyance. "Hi, what are you doing here?" You asked, not really caring if you came off as rude.
Hanbin sighed, he was used to snide remarks and judging gazes. He was well aware of his status throughout the school, but chose to ignore it all anyway, cause in the end he didn't really care. But coming from you, someone who was so nice to everyone else except him, it made him feel a little different.
"The convenience store near me was closed for the day due to an accident, so, i had to come to the closest one nearby. And it was this one" He explained to you, looking down at the bag he was carrying. You noticed a tiny glimmer of sadness behind that tough exterior, and it made you feel bad.
So far your interactions up to now with Hanbin haven't been bad, the rumors around him were that he was always rude, he got into fights a lot and he was just never caring. But your interactions with him proved that wrong, well, maybe not the fighting part, but him being rude and never caring was definitely false.
During your tutoring sessions, Hanbin always made sure to swap seats with you, that way the sun from the window wouldn't be disturbing you as you taught him the different subjects. Or that time where Hanbin had stayed up the entire night before studying so that your tutoring sessions wouldn't be as difficult.
"Would....would you like to eat lunch with me?" You asked, holding up the items in your hands that you had yet to pay for, and Hanbin thought about it for a second before nodding his head. "Sure" He said, giving you a small smile.
"𝙎𝙤 𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜, 𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙡𝙩 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨"
After that day, you started spending more time with Hanbin even inside school. You'd always ask him to eat lunch with you, so that he wouldn't be alone. Inviting him to study with you and your group of friends, so that he could catch up on stuff you might not have time to teach him during your tutoring sessions.
You two quickly became the talk of the entire school, amongst multiple different classes. "Why is Y/N with him, won't that tarnish her record?" "I heard she's tutoring him now" "What if he's threatening her?" "Oh my god, what if they're dating?". Mainly just baseless rumors.
This was also when you started catching feelings for him. It was the little things he did to show his appreciation for your kindness, proving that the tough exterior he always put on was nothing more than a facade. He'd always buy your favorite snacks for you, walk you home after school, give you his jacket if you got cold and did i already mention the part about him making sure the sun never got in your eyes and disturbed you from working?
The last time you felt like this with someone was with Park Gunwook, the 2nd top student in your school and also your ex-boyfriend. While you two were dating, you were basically the school's favorite couple. After all, the two top students that the entire school adored were dating? How could they not love it.
Unfortunately, your relationship with Gunwook ended just as fast as it had started, the boy choosing to dump you in order to get closer with another student who was in his class. It hurt and you had cried over it for days, but you eventually got over it and chose to focus on your academics.
You two broke up a year before you started tutoring Hanbin and befriending the delinquent. And you can imagine how Gunwook was reacting to the news, definitely not taking it well.
"She's with Hanbin?" He said, looking at his friend as he had three heads. "That's what everyone else has been saying" The boy nodded his head, Gunwook thought for a second. There was no way you, the top student with the best grades, was dating the student with the worst grades, the worst status in the entire school and is titled the school's delinquent.
Waving goodbye to his friend, Gunwook went inside the school bathroom, pulling his phone out and dialing your number. Meanwhile, you sat outside on a bench enjoying the small sandwich you held in your hands, when you were interrupted by the vibrating of your phone.
You looked at the screen, while you didn't have Gunwook's number saved anymore, you still recognized his number. Sighing to yourself, you picked it up, holding the device to your ear. "What do you want Park" You said, not hiding the dissatisfaction in your voice.
Gunwook's chuckle came through the speaker, followed by his voice. "Y/N, are you actually dating Sung Hanbin? The delinquent who you told me you hated?" His voice held a joking tone to it, and it was getting on your nerves. "Why would you care? I thought you were too busy with another girl to care about me?" You bit back, hearing a scoff come from the boy, followed by a sigh.
"Still not over that, Y/N?" His voice was now holding a hint of annoyance, invoking a chuckle and a scoff from you too. "Fuck you Park Gunwook" And with those final words spoken, you hung up the phone.
Gunwook cursed, placing his phone back in his pocket. If someone were to ask him if he was jealous, of course he'd say no. After all, he dumped you, where did he get the right to feel jealous over who you were seeing now? But if you weren't gonna give him the answer, then he'll get the answer from Sung Hanbin himself.
"𝘼𝙢 𝙄 𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙘𝙠?"
A few days after your call with Gunwook, it was now the scheduled day for your tutoring session with Hanbin. You had texted him that you were waiting for him, but when the minutes passed by and it turned into an hour, you started getting worried. Did he skip on you? Was this because of the rumors about you two? You didn't know, but you at least hoped he was alright.
You decided to wait a tiny bit longer, just simply daydreaming. Your thoughts immediately wandered to Hanbin and the small actions he'd do for you, that smile he always showed you but never anyone else and you felt your heart skip a beat. Quickly snapping up in your seat, you shook your head. "No way....I'm not falling for Hanbin. No way" You laughed at yourself in disbelief, but that familiar warm feeling that filled your chest when you thought of him was too hard to deny.
Looking at the time and declaring that Hanbin wasn't going to turn up, you packed up your things and bid goodbye to the librarian, exiting the library and making your way down the staircase towards the school lobby. As you got down the final step, you heard the sound of something colliding with an object. Hard. Followed by a slumping sound, then muffled voices.
Confused, you step closer to the empty classroom near to the staircase where the voices were coming from. Peaking through the window, your eyes widened in surprise as you saw Gunwook and his group of friends standing over Hanbin, who was on the floor, not unconscious but definitely badly injured as you could see the wounds on his face.
"Now, i'm gonna ask one more time" Gunwook breathed out, picking Hanbin up from the floor by his collar. "Are you and Y/N a thing?" He asked, earning a chuckle from Hanbin. "Fuck you-" Hanbin responded, earning another punch to the face. At this point, you had enough and swung the classroom door open, all heads swirling to look at you.
"Park Gunwook!" You shouted his name, causing the boy to flinch. "What the fuck is wrong with you?" You scolded him, immediately crouching down to Hanbin's level, ignoring his gaze on your face. "Y/N-" Hanbin said your name, earning a hiss from you. "Idiot" You scolded him too, helping Hanbin stand up.
"If you do this again Park Gunwook, i'll make sure your life is a living hell" You glared at your ex, before guiding Hanbin out of the classroom and down the hall to the nurse's office, ignoring the yell of annoyance Gunwook let out after you left.
"𝙃𝙚'𝙨 𝙪𝙥 𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙, 𝙪𝙥 𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩. 𝙆𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩. 𝙉𝙤𝙬 𝙄'𝙢 𝙪𝙥 𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙗𝙚𝙙, 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙙. 𝘽𝙤𝙪𝙩' 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙝𝙚'𝙙 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙨"
Sat in the nurse's office, you watched quietly as the nurse patched Hanbin's bleeding face up. "I'll make sure to report this to the principal, don't you worry" She smiled at you and then at Hanbin. "You need to rest up once you get home, okay? I'm sure your girlfriend here will take care of you" She smiled towards you once again.
"Oh, i'm no-" "Yeah, i'm sure she will" Hanbin nodded his head, standing up and leaving the nurse's office. You stood there for a few seconds stunned at what he had said, before snapping out of it and thanking the nurse again before chasing after Hanbin.
As you two walked past the school gates and down the pavement in silence, you stared at the side of Hanbin's face. Practically admiring it, but you'd never admit that. "If you keep staring, people might get the wrong idea" He said, smiling at you.
You scoffed looking away, a blush staining your cheeks. "Did you mean what you said back there?" You asked, building up the courage after it had been on your mind since leaving the school building. Did he actually mean it? Did he like you that way, the same way you liked him?
Silence enshrouded you two again as you walked, causing your stomach to twist into a knot. What if he didn't actually mean it? What if he was just agreeing with the nurse to get out of there? Oh my god, how could you be so dumb Y/N
"𝙅𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙢𝙚 𝙖 𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣, 𝙖𝙢 𝙄 𝙖𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝?"
Suddenly, Hanbin stopped, causing you to stop as well. He'd turn towards you and you'd nervously look up at him. "Yes" He replied, a similar blush painting his cheeks. You felt your breath leave your body, your heart on the verge of exploding in your chest.
Your thoughts were racing fast, all over the place. You didn't know what to say, it was like you forgot how to speak. Hanbin looked at your face as he awaited your answer, a sigh escaping his lips. "If you don't feel the same way, it's fine. I'm use-" But before he could say anything else, you stepped forward, connecting your lips to his.
Hanbin immediately kissed back just as passionately, his lips sending you the message of how grateful he was to you for being kind to him and showing him that not everyone in school hated him. Helping him find out he could feel something as deep as love. Yes, Hanbin was madly in love with you from the first day you tutored him. He found you beautiful, the way the sun complimented your features while it shined on you, the way you giggled and smiled, the way you played with your nails when daydreaming. Every little thing just made him fall deeper in love with you.
In every instance that he thought about his future after school, you were in it. And you couldn't lie, you saw him in your future too, despite his status throughout the entire school, he had shown you that he wasn't much of a delinquent like the students painted him to be. He was kind, he was caring, he was loving, he had a small hamster plush that he took great care of (which you found absolutely adorable by the way).
You couldn't help but fall in love with him from the way he treated you and cared for you. There's no one else you'd rather be in love with.
Pulling away from the kiss to catch your breath, you and Hanbin stared into each other's eyes, a smile on both of your faces. "Y/N" Hanbin said your name, causing you to hum in response. "Do.....do you want to be my girlfriend?" He asked shyly, causing you to giggle and nod your head. "I'd love to be, Hanbin" and with that, Hanbin kissed you again, trapping your lips with his as you kissed in the middle of the pavement.

Any comment or form of criticism is appreciated, even the smallest ones ^^ With that said, I hope you'll enjoy this chapter! Have a good day <3

“I don’t really get it…” The sunlight crept into the dim-lit library of the school, the evening sun bathing the school building, as it cast long shadows on the floor. It was a quiet afternoon, an eerie silence filled the room as most students had either already left to go back home or had made their way to their clubs’ buildings. Y/N could feel the warmth the wooden desk had absorbed from the sun against their skin as their head was resting on it. Their eyes softened as they stared at the window. Y/N truly appreciated the tinge of orange the sky had been painted with as the sun was close to setting down. It made them feel comfortable, serene. If the desk itself weren’t so rigid, Y/N would have likely been able to fall asleep right then and there.
“What is it that you don’t get?” Another voice, this time female, made itself be heard as it interacted with the first one. “How are we supposed to write a conjoined essay about happiness? We all have different ways to become happy…” The voice that had initially spoken did so again, replying to the second one. “Mhhh…to be honest, I didn’t even know these types of essays were a thing. I think as long as we all agree with what ends up being written, we should be ok! What do you think Y/N?…Y/N?” Raising their head in a similar manner to when they normally woke up, Y/N looked blankly at their two group members, before plainly speaking up. “Yeah, sorry. That is fine by me. We could make a list of things that make us happy and then sort through that?”
When Mrs. Choi gave Y/N’s class a group assignment, Y/N wasn’t super pleased. They could be enjoyable of course, but having to rely on others when it came to their own grades, was not something Y/N was too pleased with. Not only because Y/N didn’t really want others’ poor jobs to affect them, but also because they didn’t want to disappoint classmates by possibly being the one to do a poor job. Y/N felt like it mostly depended on who they’d be paired with, and while they couldn’t complain much due to having been put in a group with Mingi, they weren’t super pleased by the fact that Hyena was also in their group.
Hyena wasn’t an unpleasant person to be around, and she and Y/N had known each other for some time now, as they had attended the same class during middle school. On top of that, she had joined the dancing club in high school as a member, and Y/N had applied to become the manager of that same club, so they even spent some time together. She was smart and was also generally kind, but Y/N couldn’t help but feel awkward around her. Y/N thought it was the case due to the fact that they were classmates during middle school, and thus she was aware of things that Y/N would have much preferred be forgotten, but Y/N couldn’t deny that they felt like Hyena felt disingenuous at times.Y/N knew that if the group had gotten a bad grade they would feel bad because of the fact that Hyena usually faired better, and even if she didn’t show it, Y/N could tell that she was bottling up her anger. Each of them took out a paper and started writing onto it, and after a while, they all came to a pause unanimously. “As a first briefing, this should be good enough. We can share our papers and decide where to go from there.” Hyena suddenly stated, it was out of the blue, but she seemed to be in a rush. Y/N noticed Mingi raising his eyes to look at her in confusion. The young girl must have noticed as well, as her expression quickly morphed into an apologetic one, giving an attempt at a smile. “I’m sorry, it’s just that I can’t skip out on practice or I won’t be able to keep up with the others. I don’t know if first years will be included, but we have an upcoming tournament soon!” She quickly explained. Mingi hummed in response, and Y/N lightly nodded before opening their mouth to speak. “We’ll keep on working a bit more. I know the water bottles in the dancing club building are about to run out, tell the others I’ll bring some when we’re done.” Hyena nodded and bowed to the pair before she left the library. “I skipped baseball practice too though…” Y/N chuckled at Mingi’s tone of voice, although they could understand Mingi’s frustration as they had decided to take a day off of club activities to get started with the assignment as soon as possible. “I had already warned our Club leader about the fact that Hyena and I wouldn’t have been there today, but I can understand why she’d want to keep up with practice.” “Oh, I understand her reasons as well, and they’re called Sung Hanbin.” Mingi sarcastically added. At that statement, Y/N couldn’t help but turn their head towards Mingi, focusing all of their attention on him. “What do you mean?” Mingi raised an eyebrow at that question, making Y/N feel even more curious. “What do you mean what do I mean?” Y/N narrowed their eyes as they tried to focus more, but they genuinely could not think of anything. “Are you for real?! You can always tell when Alice is interested in someone though?” “But what does that have to do with this…?” Mingi paused for a second to take a glance at Y/N, proceeding to laugh at their cluelessness. “Hyena likes Hanbin. Or at least I’m pretty sure that’s the case. She always follows him around and laughs to every single thing he says…why do you think she started sitting with us at lunch from time to time?”
Y/N was dumbfounded by this information. They tried to think of such an instance, but they really couldn’t think of much. It was true that Hyena had been sitting with their group more often than she did before, but Y/N thought it was all just a coincidence. It was weird, Y/N prided themselves in being quite observant to people’s behaviors. If they were to pay attention to someone, they would usually be able to at least read them a bit. To be honest, Y/N had become comfortable enough with the group of friends they had formed to the point of not really needing to care about these kinds of things, but to be completely unaware of it? How could their gossiping soul miss such a detail? Then again, maybe Mingi was just wrong; Sung Hanbin had a lot of charisma, it felt normal to Y/N to pay him a lot of attention. He always spoke in such a honey-laced tone of voice that nobody would be able not to get lost in his speeches. Even as he danced you’d end up too mesmerized by his moves, your eyes wouldn’t be able to stare at anything else. One would be simply glad to be able to spectate such a scenery, and it truly made Y/N happy; they even thought about whether or not to put it in their list of things. Y/N would describe him as a mythological Siren, just…kinder and not as hungry for humans. Y/N hummed to themselves. “I think you’re just reading too much into it…” It was now Mingi’s turn to tilt his head to the side. “Pay attention to it next time we’re all together, you’ll see what I mean.” As the conversation died down, the two went over the material they had gathered, and while they couldn’t really come up with something that really contained all of their ideas, they were at least able to write down a general introduction to their essay that in their opinion was pretty good. Mingi sent a file version of it onto the group chat they made. The two picked up their things and made their way out of the room, concluding that they had done a good job for the first day of work. Y/N was a serial procrastinator, but because it was a conjoined effort, the sooner they began the better. Y/N accompanied Mingi to the school’s gate, as his mother had come to pick him up. “I’ll see you tomorrow!” He waved at them, and Y/N waved back. Y/N’s gaze then moved up to the sky; it wasn’t that late, but the sun was almost completely gone and the scenery had darkened. Y/N noted to themselves how there weren’t many clouds. Autumn was about to be replaced by Winter the same way it had previously replaced Summer. Wrapping their arms around their body to warm themselves up, Y/N made their way back to the main building. As the manager of the dancing club, Y/N had access to the storage room key, where they went to pick up the stash of water bottles for the club. They were heavy, and Y/N’s physical capabilities were lacking at best. They took quite a few breaks, but eventually they managed to get to the dancing club building’s doors.
The noise of shoes swiping across the floor could be heard from outside as well. When Y/N initially joined the club, they found that noise to be unnerving; it rang in their ears, and it made focusing on anything impossible. Three months had passed since that moment now, and eventually Y/N had gotten used to it, their mind alienating said noise whenever it came into play. Y/N opened the door, and made their way inside. There were a bit more than a dozen students that were practicing, an unpleasant smell of sweat filled the room, followed by multiple pantings once the music stopped playing. It was surprising how focused all of them were, nobody had really even realized that Y/N were there up until their voice called out for them. “Anybody wants a bottle?” As if they were a savior descended to Earth in order to save them all, literally every single one of the club’s members turned in their direction, eyes fulfilled with hope. “Y/N! PLEASE!” One of the students, Hyunjin, immediately ran towards them as they saw them, a hint of desperation clouding their tone of voice. Y/N’s expression became perplexed, their eyes wandering throughout the room, analyzing every face in the room, spotting many exhausted looks. Once they landed on the dance club’s leader, Y/N immediately understood why. “...Minho Hyung is not letting us go until we perform the choreo perfectly…he’s a monster…” Hyunjin cried out quite dramatically as he clinged to Y/N’s side. Y/N lightly patted his shoulders, before turning around to face the club leader. Minho had a name for being quite reserved and direct with people, but also very kind to anyone who treated others with respect. When it came down to dance practice though, there was not a single mistake that went past his scrutiny, and he would do his best to have everyone improve, even if it became very difficult to keep up. As the Manager of the club and as a younger student though, Y/N could experience all the positives without any of the negatives. “Senior, it’s getting quite late and a majority of the other clubs are already empty. I know that the tournament isn’t far away, but if you keep on straining yourselves, by the time you’ll have to participate, you’ll look like ragdolls.” Y/N’s voice came out quietly, although it was imposing enough to convince their club leader to let the others rest. He sighed as he agreed to let them go home. “Get freshened up and pick up your things, you did good for today.” He simply stated as he moved to get one of the water bottles Y/N had brought in. Many others did the same, picking up a water bottle before moving to the changing rooms. Y/N could hear footsteps coming from behind as they were handing out bottles left and right.
“Our savior…” A pair of arms wrapped themselves around Y/N’s stomach, a figure leaning closer into their back before proceeding to nuzzle their head in the crook of Y/N’s neck. “...I swear, you’re one of the few people Minho Hyung listens to.” A familiar feeling washed over Y/N, who didn’t push away the other, despite the fact that they hated sweat in all of its forms. “Sung Hanbin…you’re drenched in sweat.” Their tone of voice was firm, but there weren't any signs of irritation in it. Hanbin let go of Y/N, taking a step back and smiling as the other offered him a bottle of water. “Thank you.” “How was practice? You don’t look that tired considering that everyone else looks like they’ve been through war.” To be fair, it was very much true. Hanbin was out of breath as well, but he didn’t look any worse than he normally would have, and even though he was very much sweating, that only made him look better somehow. Y/N bit into their own cheek as they realized how frustrating that was. Hanbin simply chuckled. “Minho Hyung can be tough during practice, but he’s a very good teacher. We’ve improved quite a bit though, I’d say it was a productive day for us. What about your project? I thought Hyena was a part of your group?” Y/N nodded in return. “Mingi and I kept on working on it. I feel like we’ve done a good enough job for today…besides, there is still an entire week ahead of us, so I’m not too worried.” Y/N paused for a second, their gaze fixed on Hanbin’s figure as he took a sip of water from the water he was handed. Their mind began cycling back to what Mingi had told them about earlier in the day, about Hyena and her liking Hanbin. Y/N couldn’t help but admit to themselves that indeed, Hanbin was quite attractive. They couldn’t have blamed her for falling for his charms, yet for some reason Y/N refused to conclude that her liking him was true. Just as they thought of that, Y/N could spot the girl they were thinking about coming towards the pair. Her cheeks were flushed because of all the physical activities she had to endure, yet she smiled kindly. Y/N went to pick up another bottle to offer to her. “Thank you!” She mouthed as Y/N gave her the bottle, proceeding to drink off of it. “No worries. Oh, by the way, Mingi sent a document of what we have done so far in the group chat, read it whenever you have some time and let us know what you think. She nodded “Will do, thank you and sorry I couldn’t stay throughout the whole thing!” Y/N shook their head. “It’s all good, I understand that practice was important.” The girl smiled back at them, silently thanking Y/N for their understanding of the story. As Y/N turned around to go store the water bottles that remained into the club’s storage, their ears perked up as Hyena’s voice resounded behind them. “You did really well today, Hanbin. Your moves always look so…polished, it’s beautiful really. I truly wish I could be as good as you. I’m sure you’ll be chosen to be on the team for the tournament if you keep this up!” The young man’s hearty laugh followed. “Don’t say that…you have improved quite a lot yourself! You should be proud of it, I’m sure that all of the seniors have noticed how much effort you’re putting in!” Y/N walked in the storage’s direction, but as they did so, something was telling them to stay put in order to listen to what was being said. ‘Listening in on others’ conversations is not something you do, Y/N.’ They reminded themselves as they scrapped the idea almost immediately. But was it true? Was that something Y/N wouldn’t do? Maybe they should have stayed still just for a little bit, there was no harm in wanting to confirm something. Y/N sighed as they cursed themselves and Mingi for having put weird thoughts in their head. As they walked away from the two, Y/N could hear the pair complimenting each other continuously. Was Mingi right? Did Hanbin maybe like Hyena too? Y/N felt embarrassed by their own scandal-loving tendencies.
Y/N felt their phone vibrating within the pocket of their pants. Alice had messaged them, telling them that her volleyball practice was over. Y/N hummed to themselves, their fingers moving to digit a reply back to her. <<I’m at the dancing club. Waiting on Hanbin. Do you want me to wait for you outside?>> Her response was almost immediate. <<Way too cold lol, I’m coming in.>> Y/N sent a thumbs up before putting their phone back into their pocket. Minho wasn’t a huge fan of people who weren’t members of the club entering the building without a reason, but in the past three months, he had been overwhelmed by Alice’s energy to the point where he had gotten used to it. The fact that she was Y/N’s friend also helped. As they left the room, Y/N couldn’t see Hyena or Hanbin anymore. When they asked where they went, Hyunjin told them that Hyena had already made her way out of the club, while Hanbin had told him to warn Y/N that he had decided to take a quick shower. They nodded in response, and went to sit onto one of the benches as they waited for Alice and Hanbin. <<I bought you snacks for tonight.>> A message from their sister came. <<Thank you <3>> Y/N had asked their family if Hanbin could have stayed over for the night, as they wanted to have a movie night, not having to wake up early the following day due to it being the weekend. To be honest, asking at this point was just a sign of respect, but they knew that their family was already aware of the fact that Hanbin would have slept there that day. Since the two had become neighbors, they started spending a lot of time together. Hanbin was overjoyed after having discovered that, and because he also had to get the bus back home, he began sitting next to Alice and Y/N. Y/N had also gotten very close to Matthew, and Jisoo and Taerae went to the same club, and he also loved playing video games, just like Mingi, Alice and Y/N, so the two groups of friends became close quite naturally. Starting from having lunch together, Hanbin and Y/N ended up spending so much time together that not finding them in the same place while lessons weren’t a thing seemed almost impossible. They usually studied at each others’ homes, and during the weekends they would have sleepovers. It had become a habit for their families as well, to the point where they too had turned into friends due to how often they’d see the others’ child.
Y/N found that weird initially. Hanbin was popular among his peers; everyone appreciated his personality, he was an extrovert and was very likable overall. He was also talented at whatever he did, and was generally smart too. It truly felt like he had it all. For him to be so fixated on the idea of becoming Y/N’s friend…it was weird. But Hanbin managed to win Y/N over basically immediately. Y/N themselves couldn’t tell why, but Hanbin’s presence was almost magnetic to them. Hanbin managed to come into Y/N’s world, break it down and recreate a better version of it, one where Y/N themselves could feel happier about. Hell, Y/N used to dislike physical contact with people, but Hanbin managed to change their mind pretty quickly. Y/N might have joked around with Hanbin, telling him that it was tiring to live with as much positivity as he did, but truthfully, they were glad to have met the young man. A buzzing of voices caught Y/N’s attention, leading them to raise their head in that direction. Before they did though, Y/N could already tell who it was. That voice was far too familiar not to recognize it by now. “Senior! I was looking for Y/N!” Y/N felt second-hand embarrassment by witnessing Alice’s interaction with Hyunjin. It was so blatantly obvious to them that their best friend liked the blonde man, be it her tone of voice or the way she started fidgeting with her fingers around him, Y/N could ALWAYS tell when Alice liked someone. It could be described as a super power of sorts. It did puzzle them as to why they couldn’t do the same with others; that way they’d know whether or not Hyena actually liked Hanbin. Their friend’s upbeat steps preceded her voice as she got closer to them, whispering. “Is he still looking at me?” Y/N’s eyes looked past her, in order to check if Hyunjin was actually doing that or not. “NOT LIKE THAT!” Alice’s unlikely whisper scolded them for directly checking that out. “...You can’t look at him or he’ll know…” She went back to an actual whisper. “He wasn’t looking.” She sighed. “Hyunjin is quite handsome, but he’s pretty chill. Quite goofy too. You shouldn’t let a man have that much control over your emotions…” Y/N spoke plainly, their tone clearly teasing Alice. “It’s not my fault…pretty men are my weakness.” She retorted dramatically, holding her chest as she posed. “Isn’t the sweat a turn off? Dance practice was really tough today, I’ve heard.” “Are you kidding? It’s even better. Oh goodness. Am I sweating? Did he see me sweat?” Before they could answer, Y/N felt someone slide ride next to them, putting one of their arms around Y/N’s shoulders. “I doubt he would have cared, Hyunjin Hyung isn’t the type.” Hanbin’s wet hair stuck to his forehead, a couple of droplets falling off of it. “Do you think so, Hanbinnie?” He simply chuckled in response. Before anybody could get another word in, Alice began waving at every single club member that passed by, all of whom greeted her back. She had become a sort of mascot for the club.
“I hate to break it to you, but we need to rush to the school gates. The bus will be here in 5 minutes.” Y/N called out to the two. They nodded and all quickly made their way to the bus stop, making small conversation in between steps. Alice’s volleyball practice was also tough. Most schools’ tournaments were around the same period of time, so it made sense to Y/N that their practices would all become tough. The bus ride back home was very quiet. The sky had darkened, there weren’t many clouds left and it seemed like it was accompanying the world to rest as well. Hanbin and Alice were both very tired, their bodies ached, and Y/N understood that they might not have felt like talking. Alice’s voice denied that thought though. “What movie will you be watching tonight?” Hanbin, who sat in front of her, shrugged. “We haven’t decided yet.” “Are you sure you don’t want to come?” Y/N asked. “I wish. My parents and I will have lunch with my grandparents tomorrow.” “Didn’t you say your mother was making budae jjigae today? I thought that was your favorite.” Hanbin stated, clearly taunting Alice. “You’re on thin ice, Sung Hanbin. First you steal my best friend, then you attack me with food…this isn’t a good look on you.” They all chuckled, and Y/N clinged to Alice’s side jokingly. “You don’t have to be jealous, Hanbin is just a fling. It’s nothing serious, I promise!” “I’m a FLING?! I thought we were endgame, Y/N, ENDGAME.” The rest of the ride was filled with jokes and laughter. It was pleasant.
Y/N and Hanbin said goodbye to Alice as they got to her bus stop, and after that they too arrived at theirs. “Your hair is still wet, aren’t you cold?” Y/N asked. Hanbin was now wearing comfortable clothes he wore after the shower. Y/N had told him that if he wanted to, he could shower at their place, but Hanbin insisted that it was fine.
Y/N didn’t really agree, mainly because they loved getting in front of the fireplace after a shower when the climate was cold.“I’m ok, although I am kinda looking forward to your mother’s budae jjigae to warm up…” “Oh you have no idea how hungry I am right now. I’m only hoping she started making dinner already.” The pair quickly walked to Y/N’s house, and as they went to open the door, a wave of warmth and comfort overwhelmed them. Y/N had come to the conclusion that there was no better feeling than coming home after school, especially in the evening. The two didn’t even the time to step into the house, D/N’s waltzed out of the building to their direction, barking loudly while wagging its tail. “We’re home!” Y/N stated loudly for everyone to hear. They kneeled a bit to pat D/N, who was happily looking for attention…up until it noticed that Hanbin was also there, which prompted it to completely ignore Y/N and go cheer for the young man, who returned its attention with just as much cheerfulness. “Traitors…the both of you.” Hanbin chuckled, and they all made their way into the cozy house. The pleasant smell of soup invaded their nostrils, relieving them as that meant that Y/N’s parents had already started making dinner. “Welcome back!” Y/N’s sister’s voice was the first to greet them, as she was already in the hallway. “Hanbin! How was school?” “Noona! It went well, there wasn’t a lot to do today. How was your work day?” Y/N’s sister sighed. “As good as it could be, meaning not that well. I wish I were still in school like you guys.” She chuckled and then proceeded to make her way to her room. Y/N led Hanbin to their room, where the pair left their school supplies and bags before walking back downstairs and entering the kitchen. Y/N’s mother was cooking, while their father was setting the table up. Y/N could feel their eyes lighting up the moment they saw Hanbin. “See? They love you more than they do me.” Y/N commented statically, to which Hanbin laughed. “You guys came just in time, dinner’s about to be ready in 5 minutes at most!” Y/N’s mother told them, as Y/N’s father started putting the side dishes on the table. They asked the typical questions you’d ask someone who had just come back from school. Hanbin and Y/N would reply, with Hanbin asking a few questions back, but really, all they could focus on at the moment was the food. Hanbin moved to go help Y/N’s father in setting up what was left to set up on the table, meanwhile Y/N called out for their sister to come join them. They soon sat around the table, and started to enjoy Y/N’s mother’s cooking. “Mrs. L/N, your budae jjigae is always the best.” Hanbin exclaimed as he took another spoon full of soup. Y/N found his way of filling his cheeks with food as he bit into it quite cute; it always reminded them of a hamster. “Aw, you’re always so sweet, Hanbinnie! I wish someone could be more like you…” She said, eyeing both of her children. “We’ve been living with you our entire lives. You know me, if your food wasn’t good, I would have already escaped from this household.” Y/N joked, their mother replying with a simple ‘mhm’. Dinner proceeded smoothly, there weren’t awkward questions from their parents, which made Y/N breath a sigh of relief, as they could be a bit…invasive at times. Their father kept on pushing for Hanbin to eat more, which was a habit they were all used to whenever someone visited them for lunch or dinner. “What should we watch later?” Hanbin asked as he finished his plate. “I’m not sure, I’ll take a shower after dinner and in the meantime you can look up to see if you find anything on streaming platforms. We basically have them all…” Hanbin nodded, his eyes’ hues bright as the warmth of the soup had also reached his cheeks, giving them a natural blush. Y/N noticed their own gaze lingering on him for a second too long before they caught themselves and went back to their soup.
As everyone finished their meal, they all helped cleaning the kitchen, and as they were done, Y/N moved to the bathroom in order to take a shower. The urge of remaining still under the jet of warm water that hit their skin was strong, especially considering how cold the weather had gotten, but Y/N knew that they couldn’t keep Hanbin waiting for long. Hanbin likely wouldn’t have minded considering how used they had gotten to be at one another’s place, but it still felt rude. Internally groaning once they were done, Y/N left the warmth embrace of the shower’s water, only to be hit by an immediate freezing breeze that made their whole skin shiver. Y/N’s red bathrobe aided in fighting the cold, but it was only after they got in their pajama that they managed to stabilize their body temperature to a comfortable degree.
When Y/N got to the living room, Hanbin had already found the time to change into his own pajamas. He had taken his usual spot on the couch, and had made himself cozy by wrapping himself in a red plaid that Y/N’s mother usually used as an extra layer of sheets during winter if the weather got too cold. Hanbin’s cheeks were of the same color as he scrolled through the various shows and movies that the streaming platforms presented. The table in front of the couch had been filled with various snacks, both sweet and savory, and two cups of piping hot tea completed the ensemble. Y/N couldn’t help but smile at the sight. “Have you decided what to watch?” Y/N could feel Hanbin jolt up, his gaze turning towards their figure. The young man didn’t speak, seemingly taking in Y/N’s presence for a few seconds. He stuttered. “Uh-I…I was thinking about a classic…what do you think about ‘Beauty and the Beast’?...” Y/N sat on the couch next to him nodding. “Sounds good, I’m down.” “Your mother gave me this…” Hanbin unwrapped himself from the blankets, offering them to Y/N, who happily grabbed its hems. Y/N made themselves comfortable, and soon enough, they started playing the movie. Aside from a few comments they made from time to time, the pair remained silent throughout the majority of it. Hanbin usually had a lot of energy, and was capable of bringing out a similar type of energy from others as well. He was very much an extrovert, capable of making friends in a matter of minutes. While he did help out Y/N become more comfortable around people though, Y/N knew they weren’t anywhere close to Hanbin’s levels. In the past, Y/N could mainly pretend to be ok around people, but mainly thought about what to do once alone most of the time. Since Hanbin breached into their life, they had gotten used to actually spend time with people while enjoying said time…still, Y/N remained very much an introvert, and needed their time alone. Thankfully though, despite Hanbin usually being full of energy, he knew how to respect Y/N’s needs. It was a comfortable silence, they didn’t need to talk to enjoy their time together, they didn’t need to be constantly at a 100. Y/N really appreciated that aspect of their friendship.
As the movie progressed, the two got more and more tired. They naturally ended up coddling one another, Y/N leaning into Hanbin’s side as he allowed them to rest their head on his left shoulder and part of his chest. Y/N’s fingers traced maps into Hanbin’s skin, making him feel more and more comfortable as time passed. An outsider who didn’t know them could have mistaken them for a couple, but they felt like it was a common thing for friends to be that close. Y/N knew that their friendship was not something to take for granted, they were fully aware of it. Their relationship with Alice was similar, but different at the same time. Y/N didn’t really know how to explain it, they just felt that way. By the time the movie was over, Y/N’s parents and sister had already gone to bed. It wasn’t that late, but they were just those types of people. The snacks were almost completely depleted, and the cups were long emptied. “Classics are difficult to beat.” Hanbin stated lightly, but with a somewhat proud tone of voice. Y/N chuckled. “That’s true in most cases, yeah.” They didn’t move, savoring the comfortable presence of the other. “Do you want to go to bed?” Hanbin asked with a soft tone of voice. He didn’t seem tired though. “Do you want to?” “It’s up to what you want to do.” Y/N’s head turned to face Hanbin, a glint of malice sparked in their eyes. “You know what time it is?” Hanbin smiled almost instinctively at Y/N’s words. “No, what time is it?” Y/N jumped upwards, detaching themselves from Hanbin to face him. Their legs were crossed as they leaned to the side to pick up another piece of milk chocolate to munch on. “IT IS SHARING SECRETS TIME!” Hanbin bursted out laughing. “I knew you would say that!” Ok, maybe Y/N did like gossip a little bit, and they couldn’t blame Mingi for having awakened those tendencies, since they were already there. They didn’t really care about bad-mouthing others, but their thirst for others’ business was quite huge. To the point where their whole group of friends knew that at some point, Y/N would start asking random questions just so that they could know the answer. No matter how dumb it was. “You start!” “Of course I do.” Hanbin laughed once again, to him, Y/N’s predictability was cute. “What can I share if we’re always together anyway?” “I don’t know, anything really…Oh.” Hanbin tilted his head to the side as he felt as if Y/N had come up with something to ask. “What do you want to know?” He asked. “Um….” Y/N started speaking, although they didn’t really know how to question what they wanted to ask without it coming off as a bit weird. “Hanbinnie.” “Mhm, that’s me.” “You know how you’re really popular around school…” Y/N was trying to climb onto mirrors in order to avoid being direct. “I wouldn’t really say that…but go on.” “A lot of people admire you, you know?” “They do?” “...So I was thinking…do you…maybe…perhaps…mayhaps…” Hanbin couldn’t handle it anymore, moving to grab Y/N’s hands to shake them as rapidly as possible. He spoke again, his tone of voice still holding a cheerfulness in it. “L/N Y/N, for the love of God, cut to the chase!” Y/N whined at that. “...Is there someone that you fancy?”
Hanbin was dumbfounded by that question. His mouth formed a small ‘O’ shape as he tried to formulate his words. Y/N was interested in many things, but romance wasn’t usually one of those. “...Not really, no. Why do you ask?” Y/N hummed at that response. They were somewhat comforted by that. Y/N thought that when people get into a relationship, it becomes more difficult to see them. “No reason, I thought that since you’re well-liked, there would probably be some people who see you as a potential partner.” Y/N was confident that their tone of voice wouldn’t have let out the true reason as to why they were asking. Y/N didn’t want Hanbin to think Hyena liked him like that if that weren’t the case, it would have just caused confusion. “What about you?” This time it was Hanbin’s turn to ask, Y/N felt a shiver run down their spine. They didn’t know why, but it felt like Hanbin had a sudden change of behavior; he seemed much more serious. “What about me?” “Do you like someone?” His response was immediate, no second thoughts. Laughters came naturally. Y/N found that question dumb; Y/N wasn’t really popular, nor were they particularly attractive in their eyes. They weren’t really smart, nor good at sports. They weren’t funny, nor were they mysterious enough to be considered interesting. Who’d be interested in a relationship with someone like that? “Yeah, that ain’t ever gonna happen.” Hanbin’s features relaxed, as his expression went back to a smile.
“I’m far too busy supporting you and the club to think about those things.” Y/N proudly stated as they held their hand on their chest. Hanbin chuckled. “You know, Minho Hyung said that I have a very high chance to make it in the team for the tournament…” Y/N’s eyes brightened as Hanbin said that. “WHAT WERE YOU WAITING FOR TO TELL ME?!” “Sharing secrets time?” Y/N paused for a second before laughing, lightly hitting Hanbin’s arm, only to then wrap him in their arms. “...Congrats, you’re doing amazing…” Y/N knew how passionate Hanbin was about dancing. They knew how much he cared, and how happy he must have been for that. Hanbin hugged them back, nuzzling his head in the crook of their neck. “Thank you for always pushing me to do my best…” “What do you mean? I didn’t do anything, it was all your hard work…and it paid off!” “You did more than you think…” Hanbin’s voice came out almost as a whisper. It surprised Y/N. Hanbin could be cheesy at times, but this time it felt different. “What do you-” Before Y/N could finish their sentence, a loud roar exploded in the night. Initially, it came slowly, a single boom. Multiple ones then started following. They increased in numbers again and again, until their sparkles could be heard continuously. “...No way.” Y/N’s expression became more and more excited as they realized what was going on. Their body acted before their mind; they grabbed Hanbin’s hand and rushed through the hallways of the house, until they were in front of the door to open it.
As they did so, the two were met by the sight of arcing fireworks litting the sky ablaze, painting rainbows of starlight into it. Some shot straight up before exploding, others made swirls to create spirals, others shattered into thousands of sparks, and others tumbled like a shower of colorful lights. Y/N couldn’t stray their gaze from them. They were hypnotized by those lights in the sky, lights that combined themselves with the stars that were lit ablaze in the vast sky to create the most magnificent picture one could think of. Their mouth was opened in awe, as they smiled as genuinely as they could have ever smiled. Hanbin appreciated the beauty of the spectacle as well, although the picture he was admiring was a different one. Y/N turned around, meeting the other’s eyes and smiling at him. They were still holding hands, enjoying the comfort and warmth they shared with that simple gesture. ‘What is Happiness?’...it was a difficult question, but Y/N would have answered by describing that exact moment.

Secret Love Song | Sung Hanbin
And nobody knows I'm in love with someone's baby I don't wanna hide us away Tell the world about the love we making I'm living for that day, someday
summary: afraid of having attention on herself from dating the school's most beloved, y/n y/l/n hides her relationship with sung hanbin. pressured to keep this act up, she begins to reap the consequences of doing so.
pairing: sung hanbin x fem! reader
word count: 12k
playlist: secret love song - little mix, cornelia street - taylor swift, shadow - seventeen
warnings: jealousy, suggestive, both of their thinking gets a bit toxic imo, lots of miscommunication, y/n has trust issues, hanbin is a little insecure, anxiety, profanity (lmk if i missed any!)
The cafeteria was busy with everyone rushing to get a meal in the small period between classes. Friends talk about the outrageous amount of homework that teachers assigned or the crazy things that they were taught because they forget that the people they are teaching are just young high school students. Failed whispers gossiping about what happened over the weekend.
A topic being on the school's basketball team's pointing guard, Sung Hanbin, being tied down to cheer captain, Yoo Jimin. Witnesses talking about how they caught them underneath the bleachers outside near the football field during the halftime of last week's game. His lips on hers and their hands where they shouldn't be in public.
This could be rumors. This could be the truth. It's up to the recipient if they choose to believe it or not.
Y/N knew it wasn’t true because they have been dating for about 6 months now.
"Honestly they're pretty cute. It's nothing surprising if they are a thing." Zhanghao's voice muffled behind the straw as he took a sip out of his drink.
"Dude." Yunjin whacked the male on the arm. She quickly reassured Y/N," Don't listen to him. Everyone knows that they're just close friends."
"You're acting like Y/N is going to do anything about her crush. Don't give her that toxic positivity."
With a roll of her eyes, Y/N scoffed out," Thanks for believing in me, Hao. I appreciate the hope you have for me."
"I'm just stating the facts. You've liked him for how long? And I have not seen you guys talk at all."
"Yeah, they have!" Yunjin tried to recollect exactly when but blanked out.
"Like once? When he asked for the answers to the science homework? I’m sorry. He and his whole posse are totally out of our leagues."
"I hope you fail tryouts tonight."
"Yunjin." Y/N sighed," Too far."
"He's pissing me off."
Zhangho mocked Yunjin, flicking her off in the process. In response, the girl whacked him on his head. While her best friends bickered, she couldn't help looking over at the table in the middle of the room. Zhanghao was right. Despite them already dating, she still struggled to believe that she was. And the way that Zhanghao talked about it like it would be something atrocious, this is why she preferred to keep their relationship under wraps and away from the public’s eye. If her own best friend couldn’t see them together, how could anybody else? And she knew the comments from people who didn’t know her would be more harsh.
Y/N eyed how Jimin was sitting so close to him. With every movement, their arms and shoulders would touch.
Jimin rose her arm to hang off his shoulder, leaning into his ear to whisper into his ear that made his lips raise into a smile. Just as Hanbin was about to reply to whatever the girl had to say, another body came into her view and blocked away the school's new "couple". Letting out a breath that she didn't know she was holding, she looked up to find Matthew. He was a year younger, a grade below, but she had American literature with him. They didn't really talk much except when they would get paired during class but then again, Y/N didn't really talk to people outside of her circle.
"H-Hey, Y/N."
"Hi."
Matthew gleamed at the simple response, his fingers playing with the strap of his backpack. As he remained silent, she looked around the table before looking back up at him," Is there something you need?" "Oh… uhm…" he stumbled to take his bag. Placing it roughly on the table that had the three of them grasping at their trays so that their food didn't jump too far out of their plates. Digging deep into the trenches of his bag, he spared each of them a bright smile before pulling out a crumpled-up flower. A single white rose and he shyly began to hand it to Y/N.
More like shoved it into her hands.
"I was wondering… if you would like to go to the winter formal with me. I mean I know that you don't know me too well and I don't know you too well but I've always thought you were pretty. And maybe we could get to know each other through this. So be my date?" In the corner of her eyes, she saw his friends huddled at the door. One of them filming the whole interaction.
“Matthew, I’m sorry.", His face fell in disappointment. Y/N quickly shook her head, attempting to stop him from crying but she could see the tears already beginning to fall," It's just I wasn't planning to go is all! I'll have to figure it out with my parents and I don't have money to go. I’ll get back to you, yeah?"
Blinking away the rest of his tears, he let out a sigh of relief, "Oh. Okay. Well, I'll see you later."
Before Y/N could even say anything, he scurried away. Pushing past his group of friends that ran after him, slapping him on his shoulder and back as they made a commotion.
"That wasn't easy to watch," Yunjin spoke through clenched teeth. Zhanghao picked up the rose from Y/N's lap who was still staring at the empty door in complete guilt.
"Well… this is how you can tell someone likes you." He rose it in the air as if he were examining an exotic flora. "So start living in reality. The both of you. Because Sung Hanbin has never spared more than a glance at Y/N in the past four years”
Funny enough, Hanbin himself had not been able to take his eyes off the girl for more than a minute since the second she walked in. _ Right foot. Left foot. Deep breath in. Deep breath out.
She couldn’t take it anymore.
Y/N let out a dry heave, crouching over her knees. Having physical education right after lunch was pure evil. She could feel today’s lunch. Maybe chugging the banana milk before coming out was a bad idea too. It was beneficial for the people in sports that had to leave early to compete at other schools but she wasn’t a part of any sports so they could’ve put her during any other part of the day. Her body was pulled forward by Yunjin who kept her speed at a slow jog. Huffing through each breath,” The faster we get this done, the more we can hide from Coach Kim.”.
“Left!.” A crowd of male voices exclaimed, running past her in a speed that mocked her. Damn basketball team. Their heights offended her too. The grimace on her face stayed until that familiar flop of hair running in the back appeared. Of course, Sung Hanbin being the captain of the basketball team had to lead an example to other players and make sure all his teammates were accounted for. So despite possibly being the fastest, he stayed towards the end to make sure that the players who weren’t able to keep up and no one was left behind.
Suddenly, Hanbin turned around and began to run backward. Raising an eyebrow in question, Y/N continued to jog. He looked around the area, especially on Yunjin who was still beside her before his eye fell down into a wink at her before turning back around and catching up with the rest of his team.
All prior complaints dissipated into the air. She struggled to hide her blush from his flirtatious attempts but that failed when Yunjin stopped them and held her cheeks together. Worried that she was going to faint from the way her cheeks were turning so red.
After everyone had finished the two laps, Coach Kim lined everyone up along the white lines. “Alright, before I send off half of you, we’re going to play a little game of dodgeball.”
Coach Kim earned boos from the tough crowd but he waved them off and began to read down his roster.
“Coach, why don’t we play it a little differently? Couple dodgeball? Girl as striker and boy as the defender?”
“That’s so boring too! You all take too long to get each other out!” A girl shouted from the other side of the line.
“How about we change that up too and have the boy as the striker and the girl as the defender?” A girl with pig tails asked.
Coach Kim obviously thought that was a good idea since he didn't wait for a vote from the class as he immediately divided the class up in half using the method of giving a person a number between 1 and 2.
Y/N looked around at everyone frantically picking their partners. During this game, she always partnered with Yunjin. They always purposely got out so that they could run off and hide somewhere away from everyone’s view to watch episodes of this anime named Bluelock. But now that Yunjin was split apart from her and on the other team, she didn’t know who to choose as her partner and if anybody even wanted to be her partner.
“1?” A familiar voice came out from the chaos of the crowd, their hand reaching to grab her wrist. Hanbin smirked down at Y/N’s look of surprise, her eyebrows raised and lips ajar. His hand slowly trailed down to interlock their fingers together.
Oh he’s getting quite brave. The fight to hide her blush failed once again. But reality hit when she heard other people in their team complaining about how they wanted to be Hanbin’s partner. The ones reminding her why they were in this position in the first place as they questioned who she was and how in any way she was special enough to have Hanbin choose her so quickly. She began to try to pry her fingers out of his,” Hanbin, we can’t.”
“What? Be partners? I don’t see why now.”
” Yeah but partners don’t hold hands like we are.”
Almost like he wasn’t paying attention to a single thing he was saying, Hanbin used his thumb to rub out the crease between her eyebrow created by the pout on her face. Y/N turned her head from side to side to shake his hand off, “Hanbin!” She whisper screamed.
“I don’t know who that is. I only go by one name.”
“Whatever.”
“Whose Hanbin?”
“Shut up, dude.”
“Dude? Hanbin? What are these names?”
Binnie was just on the tip of her tongue but the sound of the whistle brought everyone’s attention to the middle. Using this distraction, she snuck her hand from Hanbin's grasp before any more questioning glances made their way.
All while Coach Kim was trying to give instructions on how to play the game, she could feel his hand linger near hers. The feeling of his fingertips on her palms, close to interlocking their fingers but never doing it. She loved him. Loved how he respected her space and despite pestering her so much about it, listened and didn’t continue actions that made her uncomfortable.
She ached to hold his hand in public.
Wished she didn’t care too much about the retributions.
The whistle rang through the air again to commence the beginning of the game. Everybody rushing into their sports and grabbing a ball from the middle of the court.
Y/N knew it wasn’t going to be normal. She also knew that they were going to be one of the first ones to get out.
Normal partners, they held onto their partners by their shirts or by holding them on their shoulders.
But Hanbin’s arms were around Y/N’s waist, holding her tightly to his chest. It was honestly a little hard to maneuver around with the limitations of space.
The sound of the ball rushing through the air buzzed in Y/N's ear as she flinched away to avoid getting hit all while pushing Hanbin behind her who felt like a 3 potato sacks that she was dragging. The boy was much too happy while playing a game of dodgeball, his grip only tightening as he tucked his chin into her neck.
"Binnie, you're going to have to move if you want there to any chance of us winning."
Longing the vowels in each word, he whispered into her ear," I don't caree~".
To everyone’s surprise except hers, they were the second pair to get out. Gasps of how Hanbin usually lasts until the end. Walking off to the side, they stood and watched the remaining teams. After few minutes and nobody else getting out after them, Hanbin leaned down to whisper in her ear,” Do you want to get out of here?"
She rose her eyebrow," And how would we do that?"
Hanbin looked over at the game and examined the game. More like he was checking to see how Yunjin and her partner was doing. The duo were pretty still very much into the game and it seemed like they weren't going to get out anytime soon. Y/N watched as his arm shot up to garner Coach Kim's attention who stared over at them in question.
"Do you need more balls from the storage, sir? Y/N and I would have no problem grabbing some."
Coach Kim eyed the balls that went off the distance. He shrugged and nodded, honestly not really caring.
Hanbin wasted no time and walked in front to guide them toward the storage. His long legs allowed for their trip to be shorter and faster despite Y/N’s little complaints from her struggling to catch up, practically jogging. He kicked away the rock that held the door open in a comical way that almost fostered a giggle out of her. With a gentle smile on his face, he held the door open with his one hand. Y/N shook her head at his antics, rushing to get inside so he wouldn't have to hold it any longer for her.
Once the both of them were inside, the door was shut between them. Only the light from the windows shining in for them. Luckily the balls were in an easy find because they were in a visible place. Y/N being the one who found it decided to grab it especially since Hanbin was doing who knows what behind her with the jump ropes.
The only con is that it was a high place tucked besides two boxes.
But it was doable. Getting up onto her tippy toes, she reached up. Stretching out her body to grow tall to grab it but to her avail, it failed. So she tried again, jumping with more force each time. It took the fifth try for the bag to finally budge, it slowly sliding down. What she didn't know was that as she moved the bag, it was moving the box to the right forward.
"Cmon." She muttered underneath her breath, grabbing a handful of the net to pull it forward.
In the corner of her eye, she saw the box tipping forward. Quickly, she reached her other arm out to catch it but a body came up behind her to help catch it as well.
Once she turned her head, Y/N's mind was going haywire. She could not focus with how close he stood to her. You'd think she would be used to it by now. But each time, she got a close glimpse of his face. Starstruck is what could be used to describe; her heartbeat pounding in her ears and her breath picking up a pace. Looking over the details of his face from the curvature of his nose to his soft lips, she couldn't look away.
"You know… usually, people say thank you for their life rather than just checking them out."
Her face scrunched up in disgust," I was not checking you out!"
Hanbin ruffled her hair with one hand and pushed the box back into place. He then helped Y/N pull down the rest of the bag. Y/N pulled the bag up to her chest to distribute the weight better. She tried to back up of the little corner she was in but Hanbin's body blocked her from doing so.
"What are you doing?"
Hanbin quickly motioned to her to be quiet with a finger to his lips before cupping a hand behind his ear. Y/N turned around so she was now facing him with an raised eyebrow.
"Doesn't sound like anybody got out."
A smirk grew on his face, her cheek crinkling up to look like cat whiskers. Like muscle memory, her thumb ran over the lines of one of his most beloved features.
"If you keep looking at me like that, I might just kiss you."
Y/N snapped out of her trance, her hand falling onto his shoulder and resting there. She leaned forward so that her face was under his. She tilted her head up, looking him straight the eyes. "Would you?" A loud shriek escaped from her mouth as her feet were suddenly off the floor and she was placed on a tower of mats. His arms caging her between them, slitting himself between her legs. He leaned in so close that the tips of their noses brushed against hers, his lips barely hovering over hers.
Like a game, she leaned back against the wall to run from him. His lips chasing hers, desperate for even the slightly touch. A small peck given by her. Hanbin groaned in annoyance.
He moved one hand to rest against her bare thigh while the other wrapped around her waist to pull her closer to him.
Like magnets, they stuck to one another. The space between them now closed as their bodies mushed together like a perfect puzzle piece.
The white noise of the fan mixing together with the sound of their heavy breathing. Y/N could feel the butterflies going crazy in her stomach when his hand that was previously on her waist slip underneath her school t-shirt.
The way his hands slowly moved and brushed against her a sensitive spot that evoked a giggle. Hanbin couldn't help the smile at the sound. "Come on, babe. I'm losing it here."
"I don't know. It doesn't feel right snogging another women's man."
With his forehead against hers, Hanbin frowned in confusion, " What do you mean?"
"Last I heard, you were dating Jimin."
"Jimin, huh?" Hanbin dramatically leaned away from Y/N, his arm still secured around her waist. He let out a deep sigh," You're right. I shouldn't be having such thoughts about another man's woman."
This time, Y/N rose her eyebrow up in confusion.
"With that junior."
"Oh, Matthew?" "What was going on there anyways?"
"He asked me to the formal."
"Oh is that right?" Hanbin wiggled his eyebrows," How cute is that?"
"Shut up." She pushed at his shoulder that didn't budge at the movement.
"Did he give you flowers?" A peck on her forehead," Balloons?" A peck on her cheek, " What color are you two wearing?," A kiss on her lips.
"You're soooo annoying. I said no to him."
He tucked a strand hair behind her ear, " Good. Because you're mine."
"Yours? I'd be surprised. Everyone is saying you're Jimin's."
"Would I be in your arms if I was hers? I wouldn't want to be anywhere else than here." He ran his thumb over cheek," I'd go anywhere to be with you." Pulling her back in for a tight hug as he wrapped around of his arms around her waist.
Y/N couldn't help the way her cheeks burned. To hide her reaction, she tucked her face between the crack of his neck and returned the hug back to him.
The moment was interuppted by a rapid knock at the door that had her immediately push Hanbin off of her. His hand quickly grabbed onto hers when he stumbled back against the cushions behind him. Yunjin's voice could be heard outside of the room, asking Y/N if she was in there.
"Crap." Y/N started to push her hair back into place, adjusting her clothes back into place. "Dude, hide."
"What, why?" He whispered in a hush tone.
"Don't you think she'll find it odd if we're just chilling in here together?"
"And what's wrong with that?". It was as if he couldn't see the seriousness of the situation. A boy and a girl in a room alone was strange and questionable in so many ways. Especially with how he was leaning his body into hers again, squeezing her hand, "I think it's about time she found out."
"Binnie, just-" The door opened before she could finish her sentence, the doors were open and Yunjin was in the room with them. Luckily she was looking around the room first since they were tucked away in the corner. That quick second allowed Y/N to realize that their hands were still interlocked together and yanked her hand out of his grip. She had unintentionally done it so fast and rough, failing to see how Hanbin's eyebrow began to furrow.
"Yunjin~" She called out to the lost girl, grabbing the bag of extra balls beside her. Yunjin's head quickly snapped over in their direction, her eyes immediately looking Y/N in hers and widening at the sight and thought of the two being alone in a room together.
Y/N rose her hand up to show the bag of balls in her hands, " You came just in time. Can't find anything in this junk yard."
"Right…" Yunjin only moved only because Y/N dragged her out of the small, congested room. She frantically waved goodbye to Hanbin whose gaze were directed to the floor. Yunjin herself wasn't able to figure what emotion he was showing but couldn't help but see that he resembled a kicked puppy on the side of the road.
Finally breathing in some fresh air of outside, Y/N threw the bag over her shoulder and began walking back to the game that wasn't even halfway done yet.
Behind her, she could Yunjin jogging to catch up to her. Whispering yelling underneath the breath that she couldn't wait to tell Zhanghao about how Y/N got to spend time with her "crush". _ Yunjin has been Y/N's best friend since kindergarten. There is no Y/N without Yunjin and there is no Yunjin without Y/N.
So maybe it wouldn't hurt for Y/N to tell about Yunjin about the fact that she isn't single and has a boyfriend that she's been with for six months now. Also that the boyfriend is Sung Hanbin who she has been gushing over and slightly obsessed with since middle school. Yunjin rambled on and on that she was happy that Y/N was able to interact with Hanbin especially after all these years and that she totally thinks that Hanbin is into her despite the fact that in the two minutes that Yunjin saw them together, Y/N tried her best to not look over at him in fear that she would reveal things just by the way that she looked at him.
Maybe it wouldn't be too bad if they went public.
Jimin and Hanbin's friendship never bothered her especially since she knows Jimin views as a brother. But maybe going public would also put a halt to all the rumors about Jimin and him that irked every time she thought about it.
Y/N pulled her shirt over her head to put on her button up instead. Currently she was in one of the empty shower stalls. While she's known most of the people out there for long as she has been attending public school, she preferred to have privacy while changing.
While clasping the buttons together, she got a big whiff of cigarette smoke.
The shower stalls had a vent that was just placed perfectly on a wall that has an alley on the other side where all students that smoke hid to have their daily dose of those nicotine sticks.
She opted to ignore it as it was none of her business and all she had left to do was to tuck her shirt into her skirt. As she pushed the bunched cloth into the hem, her movements halted when she heard the mumble of her name.
"Yeah, she was with him most of the time."
"Damn that sucks! Weren't you trying to be his partner in the game? Isn't that why you brought it up to Coach Kim?"
Y/N inched closer to the wall, keeping up onto her tippy toes as the vent was so far high up on the wall.
"And he partnered up with Y/N instead?"
The girl let out a long and heavy sigh, seemingly taking a drag of her cigarette before continuing her rant," Partner up? More like she leeched herself onto him. So annoying. Then they were the first to get out."
"Oh my gosh. Hanbin must've been so annoyed. He's literally the best at any sports he plays."
"Right? Then they disappeared off and I never got to talk to him because by the time I found him, he was already with his friends."
"What? Didn't you get out right after Hanbin and Y/N?" The other girl let out an horrendous cackle," And way to make it so obvious. I'm so surprised that Coach didn't say shit about that. "
"That old man is tired. I was doing him a favor by making the game shorter. But anyways, I couldn't find him. Gosh it was so annoying."
"Oh well. The time will come."
"I could've gotten it over with if Y/N wasn't in the way."
"Hey… at least you know she isn't any competition."
"Right? In no way would Hanbin ever go for someone like Y/N."
"You're like 10 times prettier than she is, hands down."
"Girl, I already know that. Like literally he is way too good for her and if she confessed like anyone else would, let's just pray for her because that wouldn't end well."
Having enough of this conversation, Y/N threw on the rest of her outfit and snatched her backpack out of the ground. Pushing past half of the girls, she rubbed at the tears that were fighting to come out. She couldn't believe she was crying because of a gossip. She couldn't believe she was running away from Yunjin who would be the one to comfort in times like this.
She couldn't believe she was dumb enough to even think that the world would accept them. _
A kiss on her neck distracted her from the spam of messages coming from Yunjin about how Matthew asked about her after school. The culprit’s hand pulled the cellular device away from her and placed it on the night stand. Hanbin’s warm hand coming back down to run over the exposed skin of her midriff. A giggle escaped from her lips as he began to lay multiple pecks running down to her collar bone.
Pushing him off slightly, “What are you doing?”
“Trying to get your attention.” He pouted,” I’m so tired and all I want to do is cuddle with the hottest girl in school.”
“Hottest girl?”
He hushed her, bringing up his index finger to her lips.
“But she’s too busy talking to her friends that she spends 24/7 with.” He dramatically sighed, allowing his body to fall on top of hers. Tucking his face into the crook of her neck.
“Oh shut up. I know you chose me as your partner on purpose during that game. I don’t want to place blame on anybody but if you weren’t too hyperfocused on hugging me the whole time, we could’ve won.” No snarky response was heard. Instead, she could feel him breathing in her scent that had her scrunching her neck in response.
“Dude, I probably smell like sweat.”
“No, you smell so good.” His voice muffled,” Like cheese.”
Pushing him off again, she mumbled underneath her breath,” Idiot.”
“I wanted to get out first so I could spend time with you. Don’t act like I don’t know yours and Yunjin’s secrets. But she just had to get out so soon.”
“Well you have me all to yourself now.” Y/N pushed back his hair out of his face. Like a puppy, Hanbin gleamed at the gesture and words that came out her mouth.
"By the way, what's your favorite number?"
"_" She raised her eyebrow up," Why?"
"No reason."
"You sound very guilty right now."
He pulled his phone out and began typing hurriedly on his phone. Y/N propped herself up into a 45 degree angle, trying to get a peek of his screen but Hanbin quickly hid the screen with a devilish smile.
"Heyy…" She began poking his shoulder, hoping to annoy him enough to get him to give in. But instead, Hanbin took the opportunity to roll over and lay his head on her stomach. He grabbed her hand that was poking at his shoulder and began to nibble at her finger.
“Stoooop, you little vampire.”
Hanbin placed her hand onto his chest, bringing his phone up high enough so the both of them could look at his screen.
"You're going to put that number on your jersey?"
"Yeah, I want to show that I'm yours somehow."
"That's pretty smart."
"Told you I was."
"Mhm and that's why this was suppose to be tutoring session for your D on your latest Stats test." Hanbin shushed her before pulling up his Instagram and successfully distracting them again from changing their cuddle session to what it was suppose to be before which was a study session.Occasionally they would laugh at the reels that would pop up but his feed was full of a lot of people she didn’t really know or talk to. So Y/N resorted to playing with the strings of his hoodie. Suddenly the loud commotion of earlier today caught her attention. Looking up, she saw an angle of Matthew’s proposal. Someone had sent a video to the school’s instagram account to post for the Assuming where the camera was, it was his friend that was recording earlier today.
She could feel herself physically cringe at watching it all go down again. Expecting Hanbin to laugh about it, she quickly covered his mouth to intercept any sort of teasing that may come to his head. But instead his face remained stoic and he sat up, her hand falling down to her side. He was hunched over as he rewatched the video again.
To get jealous was rare for Hanbin. In the time frame of their whole relationship, which isn’t long but isn’t too short, Hanbin has never showed any signs of jealousy except for one incident before they started dating. He was pretty confident in himself and the two of them always reassured one another that they were the only ones that had each other’s eyes.
“Wait, what’s wrong?”
“You didn’t say no.”
She sat up fully as well, scooching closer to the end of the bed where he sat. “Well, I’m planning to.”
“Why didn’t you say no right then and there? You told me that you did.”
“I just didn’t want to embarrass him in front of his friends.”
“It seems like you’re going to say yes to the guy.” He pointed at his phone.
“But I’m not. I’m planning to say no.”
“He doesn’t seem to think so.”
“I’m going to tell him no!” And while they were on this subject, she couldn’t help but bring up something that’s been bothering her as well,” Why aren’t you denying the rumors about Jimin?”
“What rumors?”
“There’s rumors that the two of you were behind the bleachers and that the two of you are together.”
“Well first of all, the girl I was behind the bleachers with was you. And those rumors have been around since the minute people realized that we’re friends and hang out in the same friend group. It’d be weird if I deny them now if I never acknowledged them before. Besides, those rumors have never bothered you until now. Why are they bothering you now?”
“Then why are you so bothered that I’m planning to say no later? You know I wouldn’t go to the dance with somebody else.”
“I asked you last week and you straight up told me no. He asks you and he gets a, “I’ll have to see. ”
Y/N ran her hand through her hair in frustration. “You know why I said no to you.”
Hanbin returned his gaze back to the dark screen of his phone,” Yeah… yeah… I know. Everyone is going to have something to say about you and me and it’s just too much attention.”
“If I told Matthew no right away, I wouldn’t hear the end of it, especially since he did it in front of so many people.”
The two in silence. Both coming to their conclusion. Y/N came to the conclusion that the both of them were in the wrong and getting a little too jealous. But it didn’t feel like everything was said as Hanbin stayed perched at the end of his bed, his phone back on and scrolling through the comments underneath the video. She reached out an arm out to him but he abruptly stood up. He was quick to grab his duffle bag which was tucked away beside her closet.
“I’ve got tryouts.”
“Binnie…” Getting up onto her knees and was about to get up off the bed to walk over to him but he stopped her ,” Cmon..”
Using his hand on her shoulder to guide her back down into her bed, Hanbin leaned a placed a kiss on her forehead, “I'm sorry." He brought his hand up to cut her cheek, running his thumb along her cheek," I overreacted. I'll see you later?" Even though he looked her in the eyes and said that. She struggled to believe him. Reluctantly, she nodded her head slowly. Before she could even utter another word, he was out of the door and down the stairs.

Despite facetiming later that night, Y/N still felt there was something on Hanbin’s mind. Like he still had something to say. That morning too, she didn’t receive a message from him telling her to have a good morning.
Not that she wanted him to always send it but it was so out of character for him not to.
So she couldn’t help the pain in her chest when he walked past with her friends like she didn’t exist. But this was something that was a regular occurrence. She was the one who told him to do that. So why did she want him to look at her?
A tap of her shoulder shook her out of her shoulder. Turning again, she found Matthew with another flower in his hand. He motioned for Y/N to take it. The girl slowly took it from his hand. Honestly, she was trying to avoid him until after the dance so that the whole proposal would be useless and forgotten but she already knew that was impossible.
“So?”
“Matthew… I’m sorry. I can’t go.”
“Didn’t you say it was about money? I could pay for your ticket!”
For some reason, even though Matthew was in front of her, she couldn’t help but look over at Hanbin who was leaning up against a locker, talking animatedly to his teammates every so often.
“No… No.. it’s something else. I just can’t go with you.”
“Do you mind me asking why? I mean I know we don’t know each other all that well so I think that this would be a great time for us to get to know each other.”
“You’re quite persistent, you know?”
“I’m just curious, that’s all.”
“Okay, Matthew, it’s not something else. It’s someone else.” Feeling apologetic, she held his hands in hers ,”It doesn’t feel right for me to go to the dance with someone when I’m completely and utterly in love with someone else.”
“Is it Hanbin?”
She looked back at him in shock, “Woah, how’d you figure that out so quickly?”
“I mean, minus the fact that you won’t stop looking over at him, I think the bruise on my leg is clear evidence. He was super nice when everyone first got there and he was even giving me tips but then I mentioned my proposal to other players to make myself look cooler because they were all calling me kid because how short I am and he started getting rough.”
She knew it. She knew he was still bothered about the proposal.
“You used me to make yourself look better?”
“ I’m sorry for that. I honestly deserved getting roughed up.”
“Yeah and for also thinking that I could up your game in any way.” Y/N laughed at the thought but Matthew looking at her with an incredulous look as if she were insane halted her from continuing on.
“What do you mean? You’re one of the coolest and sweetest girls I’ve ever met. Anybody that could have you would be lucky to have you.” He shrugged as if it were the most obvious thing. “ I just don’t understand why I never see you two together.”
“Well he’s him. And I’m me. People would just look at us weird and question how someone like me could be with someone like him. Like he could do better, you know?” She didn’t know why she was spilling her feelings out to someone she barely knew. But it felt so good to say it aloud.
“Who cares about what everyone else says?”
“Me. Because I will have to hear the disapproval from everyone and how strange it is that we’re even together.”
“What matters is that the two of you like each other and that’s all that matters. Anybody else that cares and has something to say needs to get a life. And to stop watching so many movies because this is real life and those “status quos” don’t exist.”
The first bell rang signaling that their first class was about to start in 5 minutes and they needed to go now. Matthew leaned in and kissed Y/N on her cheek before she could deny it. “I truly wish you will take in what I say. Don’t hide your relationships for the sake of people you shouldn’t care about.”
The younger boy walked away before she could even say anything, leaving her dumbstruck.
Someone colliding into her shoulder snapped her out of her thoughts.
Matthew's word ran over and over again in her head like a broken record. The way he tells her like it's so easy to do so.
Maybe it is if she learned to not care so much.
The second bell warning pulled her out of her mind. The teacher from her calculus was beginning to notice that she was starting to come late to class a lot more than she should be. She bound to pull her aside to talk about it soon. Pivoting around, she rushed up the stairs to her first class.
Hanbin stood by himself at his locker now. His hands tucked into his jeans as he watched Matthew walk away. His jaw clenched tight as the loud slam of his locker echoed through the empty hall.
_
Apologies spilled from her mouth every millisecond as she hovered through the crowd to get to the entrance of the tunnel where the basketball team gathered.
The pep rally was about to begin in 10 minutes and she managed to escape from Yunjin and Zhanghao to be able to talk to Hanbin. To talk about their argument last night and their relationship. Because Matthew was right. Why do other people’s opinions matter? But there was still that fear and that voice in her head that told her that wasn’t a good idea.
Finally reaching an area that had some elbow room, she maneuvered past the associated student body to where a large group of boys in the school’s basketball uniform circled around who knows what. Not seeing the face she wanted to, she decided to see if he was more towards the front.
“Excuse me.” She squished past the sweaty boys and landed at the front where she found the cheerleaders putting face paint on students and athletes. The boy she was looking for had his legs spread out so he could be the same height as the girl in front of him. The girl dangerously close as she held onto his shoulder, her head leaned in to ensure that the lines she was painting on his face were perfect.
When she leaned back to laugh at something Hanbin said, Y/N realized then and there that it was Jimin.
She had to think about what she was going to do next. If she was going to do something that she regretted because of that green feeling that was currently bubbling in her chest. First, she knew that Jimin was a sweet girl that would never take another person’s boyfriend and she never cared about her friendship with Hanbin because what she had with him was so secure. Second, she wasn’t so sure how secure they were anymore and it wasn’t like Jimin knew that Hanbin was tied down, it seems like all her actions were definitely advances to something more.
So now here Hanbin and her in a janitor’s closet where she pulled him away from a confused Jimin. Y/N muttered something along the lines that she had to talk about something from Chemistry despite that class being one that took two years ago in their sophomore year. As she walked away, she could hear people asking questions such as, “ who is that?” or “If I was Jimin, I’d be upset if someone was touching my man like that.”
“You expect me to be okay with dating rumors when you’re going around, acting like that?”
"Y/N, she was just putting face paint on me." His eyes remained away from you and on something in the background. Trying to avoid her glare.
“She’s all over you and it annoys the hell out of me. Yeah, I didn’t care before but I care now.” She couldn’t believe the words that were going to come out next,” If you want her, then go ahead and go for it. But you have to let go of me first.” She didn’t mean a single word.
“Did I actually ever have you?”
Y/N stopped her prancing in the small room and turned her body to look at Hanbin who was already looking at her.”What do you mean by that?”
“Sometimes I'm just here for fun. For the pleasure of it all. Our dates consist of hanging out in our houses and occasional dates outside of the city because you are scared to be seen by anybody else. Here, I have to act like you don’t exist and you act like I don’t exist. I want to brag about you to my friends but I can’t. I even have to remind my mom not to say anything about you to them even though she absolutely is in love with you. And I assume you never told yours about me because of how you hid me away from Yunjin. Are you that ashamed to be with me?"
“Binnie-”
“I want to hold your hand when I want to. I want to kiss you when I want to.” And he too could feel that green monster building up again at the memory from earlier today. .
He saw that? Y/N waved her hands and shook her head,”It’s not what it looks. I didn’t know he was going to do that and I wouldn’t have wanted him to do it if I had known. I’ve told you multiple times that Matthew and I have nothing going on.”
“ Then why aren’t you believing me when I say that Jimin and I aren’t as well. You’re asking why I care so much about Matthew? It’s not Matthew that I care about. It’s the fact you have never been so open to talking to me in public and you didn’t even push him away when he kissed you even if it was a simple one on the cheek. You didn’t say no to his proposal so now I have to hear whispers about things I know that aren’t true. And I get why you did it so people wouldn’t talk but there is inevitability some. Why can’t you let there be whispers about us?”
She watched as his face scrunched up, his fingers running along his forehead to massage the tension headache forming. “Y/N, I’m just tired. I’m so tired. Of running around. Of acting like I don’t care that we have to hide.” The pain in the chest made it hard for her to breathe as she could feel the three words threatening to come out of his lips.
Wanting to cut him off to tell him that she didn’t hide them anymore, his phone rang frantically. They let it go to voicemail but right after, it rang again.
Though the both of them didn't budge a single movement for what felt like the longest time, his phone went off again after the other one finished. Hanbin pulled the device out of his pocket, letting out a sharp exhale. “I’ll just tell them to go on without me.”
Before he could lift up the screen to see who it was, Y/N shook her head, “ It’s fine, just go.”
“No, I’m not leaving us like this again. It’s just a pep rally. I don’t have to be there.”
“And if you go missing, the whole school will freak out. Personally, I don’t want to be the reason that the school star player is missing.”
“Y/N, this is it. This is what’s wrong. Who cares about what anybody thinks? Do you not have anything to say about this?”
“I’m trying, Hanbin! I’m trying. But everyone you miss a basket or the team is having a off day, I have to listen to the crowd talk and assume things about you guys. And most of them talk about you being distracted and having a girlfriend. I don’t want to be blamed for that and have everyone scrutinize me. It’s also the fact that no one could ever imagine you with me. It’s always Jimin. It’s always who the heck is that? whenever they see me with me. Shit, even Zhanghao can’t imagine us together.”
“But we are. And people are going to have to accept that.” Hanbin hung his head back. “And I’m trying my best to just do what we’ve been doing. Keep our relationship a secret but I can’t find the strength to go on anymore. Because sometimes I feel like I love you more than you love me. And I honestly don’t know if I can stay any longer, feeling that.”
Her heart thumped at the three words. They haven’t said I love you to one another yet. Always dangerously on the tip of their tongues but never finding the right times to do so.
And this wasn’t the context in which he was hoping he was going to say it.
Her attention shot back into the room when Hanbin’s phone rang again. He cursed under his breath, seeing his Coach’s contact name on the screen this time. “I’ve got to go.”
A silence granted permisssion to end the converstion. Hanbin slowly grabbing his backpack and throwing it over his shoulder. Y/N let out a shaky breath as he began to pass her, their shoulders brushing against each other.
“I love you, Hanbin.”
The sounds of his shoes signaled that he halted in his steps. She could hear him let out a breath of air before starting to speak.
Then the door slammed open. The short, stubby janitor shouting out,” What are you two doing in here?”

(a/n: i meant to put sports, not spots! so sorry for the typo)
After the janitor caught them, his screaming caught the attention of the basketball coach who was searching the hallways from Hanbin. The star basketball player was pulled away from her before he could even reply to her declaration. Though he could see Hanbin struggling to get out of the older man’s grip, looking back at her every so often until they turned the corner to the gym.
It was true she wasn’t feeling all that well. The dizziness from nervousness and the bile rising up her throat, trying to imagine how it would be if they changed the premise of their relationship. Truely, she needed to lay down before she fell to the cold, dirty ground of the hallways.
She hoped that he saw it to be true and not said out of desperation to fix their falling relationship. Checking the clock in the corner of the room, she wished the time would go by faster so they could finish their conversation and she could tell him how much he means to her.
Multiple buzzes from her phone prompted her phone to check whatever her friends had to say now. She could feel her heart drop to her stomach and bile rising up her throat again. This time there was no way to stop it from coming out.
Opening the notification from her friends and repeated tweets from the school's gossip account. The recent headline highlighting Yoo Jimin asks Sung Hanbin to WakeOne's annual winter formal! He says yes! The photos showing different angles of the proposal. A clear look of surprise on Hanbin's face as flowers handed to him from left and right from other cheerleaders. The last photo shocked her gave her a sharp pain in her chest as Chaewon's arms were wrapped Hanbin's neck, his eyes only simply looking down at her face. His hands nowhere near to pushing him off.

Covering her mouth to control her impending sobs, Y/N quickly stood up to run over to the trash can to empty the contents of her stomach. Though Hanbin hadn’t outright said it, she could feel him putting that pause or ending their relationship in the last sentence that he had spoke to her.
He was going to be with someone that treated him right and was perfect for him.
She had her chance and she lost him.
Turning to look at the school’s nurse, she raised the question if she could stay for the rest of the day to avoid and hide her problems outside of this room but she was already scribbling down a note, shaking her head at the disgusting smell.
_
As the last bell rang, Y/N apologized to the nurse who told her that was nothing and to rest as it seemed like she was sick from stress. And the stress was beginning to take a toll on her body.
Y/N could only imagine if the nurse knew what type of stress she was going through. She would shake her head at the teenage girl.
The nurse began prepping the word and just as Y/N was about to sit down to wait, the door bursted open. A disheveled Yunjin appeared. She slapped a hand against her forehead and shook her head,” No fever.” She grabbed Y/N's face by the chin and twisted it around to check if there was anything abnormal but nothing. “Girl, you look and feel fine. So you left me alone to those heathens for nothing?”
"Tell that to the three times I've thrown up in the past hour. Guess I should’ve trusted you and just threw away that 6 dollar boba.”
"I could always buy you a new one. Are you feeling better now?”
“Yeah kinda..”
Yunjin linked arms with hers,” Great, then, let’s go meet up Zhanghao to check if he made the team or not.”
“I’m actually going to head home right now. I’ll catch the two of you tomorrow at the game-”
“Oh my gosh, noo! He’d kill us if we forget the promise we made with him. We have to be there for him to either congratulate him or console him with a dinner.”
“I know but I still don’t feel all that good.”
Yunjin hummed in response. Although not completely convinced to let Y/N go home. While Y/N waited for the nurse to complete the last of the paperwork, she saw in the corner of her eye a familiar tall figure.
Maybe it was her nerves that prompted her to do so but she grabbed Yunjin who was completely thrown off by the change of energy in the environment. Y/N quickly pulled them both behind a curtain just in time for the door to open again.
"What are you doing-"
Y/N covered the brunette's mouth, peeking through the small slit of the curtain.
Hanbin stood inside of the nurse's office, fiddling with the strap of his backpack. "Hello, by any chance, did a Y/N Y/L/N come by today? I heard some of her friends saying she would be here."
"Oh uhm..." The nurse stumbled over her words. Crossing her fingers behind her back, Y/N hoped that she could read the room and understand what Y/N wanted. "She just left."
"Oh..." Hanbin sighed. "Do you mind if I asking what's wrong with her?"
"Hanbin, you know I can't disclose other student's health with you."
A soft chuckle filled the air and Y/N feel her heart warm at the sound. But it was still heavy with the news she read only two hours before.
"I get that. Can you just let me know if she's okay?"
"She's alright."
She could see him slowly nod and tuck his hands behind his back before bowing. "Thank you. Have a good rest of your day, I'll see you at the game tomorrow."
"Good luck tomorrow, Hanbin."
She waited for sound of the door clicking close before taking her hand off of Yunjin's mouth. Thanking the nurse profusely for lying for her despite not knowing the situation, she could feel a tug on her sweater. Turning to look at Yunjin whose face was decorated in so much shock that it was almost comical, " Why are you acting so weird? And was that Hanbin just looking for you?"
"I can explain."
_

"Wait, then why did he say yes to Jimin?" Yunjin scoffed, shaking her head.
Y/N hugged her pillow close to her chest. The tears beginning to fall again. She managed to hold herself together as she confessed about the secret relationship between Hanbin and her but the reminder that they were potentially over clouded her mind. She shrugged in response.
"That makes no sense though. Because he never actually broke up with you."
Zhanghao sighed and grabbed tissues from her desk, handing them over to her.
"I'm sorry."
The two girls looked up at him in confusion. In the years that they've all been friends, they have never heard those two words come out of Zhanghao's mouth. He was very unashamed of his actions and if he was ever sorry for something, he would show it through his actions.
"That I was pushing Matthew on you. That I kept saying that Hanbin wouldn't look your way."
"You're not wrong though, Hao. He wouldn't have paid attention to me if it wasn't for us having the same part time job during summer."
"Y/N, don't say that." Yunjin nudged her with her shoulder.
"You’re absolutely gorgeous. You both are. And I kept making comments like you were less than what you are."
"It's fine, Hao."
"Yeah but still I was such a dick."
"You were just trying to help me get over him. Nothing wrong with that."
Zhanghao fell back into the plethora of stuffed animals tucked in the corner. Though all was forgiven, the male couldn't stop the feeling of embarrassment and shamefulness he felt from how he acted in the last week.
Yunjin all of a sudden began giggling which earned confused looks from the other two poeple in the room. "He was so jealous then."
A smile perked up on Zhanghao's pout, " That's right! He was going so hard on Matthew that one day at tryouts. I feared for his life."
Yunjin tickled Y/N's side, her tongue sticking out," Look at you having two boys fighting over you."
"Dude, it was making me so sick. I can't even act like I could brag about it because it was stressing me out so much."
"That explains why he was asking the nurse about you. Aw, Y/N, he was looking for you!"
"Yeah... after he said yes to Jimin during the pep rally."
"I don't know if he even said yes to her. Everything happened so quick and he didn't even smile or do anything through the whole thing." Zhanghao tapped his chin," He was just... in shock."
A sudden knock on her door silenced them all. Peeking in was her mother. "Honey... Hanbin is downstairs."
Plushies flew each side of the room as her two friends scrambled to leave the room through the window but Y/N stopped them. She kneeled to the end of her bed," Can you tell him I'm sleeping already? That I'm still sick from earlier today?"
Her mother frowned before nodding, shutting the door behind her.
"Why are you avoiding him?" Zhanghao questioned, crossing his arms together," And are you not getting his texts or calls?"
"I... blocked him."
"What? Why?"
"Hao, I just don't want to deal with all of this right now. It's too overwhelming."
"If you avoid your problems, they only get worse."
"I just need some time to think about everything, okay? I feel like I got the ultimatum that I have to choose having our relationship public or losing him. Then I also think that Jimin is so much better for him because if he's with her, it'd be so much easier because she's used to the attention. "
"But he doesn't like her, he wants you." Zhanghao waved his hands from left to right," Hence why he was crying over a photo of you and him."
Y/N covered her face with the pillow that was still in her arms," I know... I know... but if he was with her, he wouldn't have to even deal with this bullshit."
Yunjin wrapped her arm around Y/N's shoulder, "I get what you're thinking but he seems like he's all in for you."
"I know... I know... I just don't know if I'm ready. I thought I was. And what if I just disappear from his life. Act like I never in it like I was before. Then he could get over him."
"So you're just going to avoid him until when?"
"Not forever. I just need a moment to think to myself. I've already heard what he has to say."
"So you're just going to let Jimin swoop up and take your man like that?"
"What? No? Yes? I don't know." Y/N abruptly stood up, shocking both of her friends. "You guys are suppose to be helping me but instead you're making me want to throw up some more." Speaking of which, she could her stomach beginning to rumble and the feeling of something up her throat. Stumbling over sheets and pillows to the bathroom, she shut the door behind her. Praying that the fan would cover the noise.
Zhanghao huffed and pulled out his phone. Yunjin decided to keep quiet and watch the show that was put on before Zhanghao came over. When he becomes stressed or annoyed, he tended to find comfort in his phone especially when he's trying to calm down and not blow up on the person he was talking to.
But at that moment, he was currently texting Hanbin to tell him the truth. For two reasons he did so. One, so he didn't have to watch his friend mope around. He disliked seeing Y/N upset especially when she begins to self deflect herself. Two, so he doesn't want to have his teammate mope around when their first scrimmage is tomorrow. While it wasn't a real game, it was still a pretty big deal.
After Zhanghao and Yunjin left, Y/N went downstairs to wash and put away the dishes that they used. Sitting on the couch was her mother, catching up on the shows she missed while at work. In front of her on the coffee table was a white pharmacy bag and bento boxes that were opened up. She walked over to see Mrs.Sung's infamous rolled egg omelette.
She always mentioned to the older lady that she makes the best.
"What's this?"
"Hanbin brought this earlier when he came by. He told me you went to the nurse's earlier that day?"
Y/N sat down and nodded. "Wasn't feeling too well."
"Well, he brought you medicine. Mrs.Sung made you congee. It's on the stove."
Using her finger, she took a peek into the bags and boxes. She could her heart melting at the sight, a note at the bottom of the bag from Hanbin. The message was short with the simple words of Get Well Soon but it meant so much more. The way he went home after practice and still came by her house to drop all of these things off despite it being a bunch of back and forth.
She could feel her mom side eyeing her and honestly, she would too.
The words replaying in her head of how he felt like he was more in love with her than she was with him. Which simply just wasn't the truth and it pained her heart to ever think that he thought that way because her actions are what prompted him to believe so.
She pulled out her phone to text Yunjin and Zhanghao if they could help her for what she was conjuring up in her head. She passed Hanbin's contact in her favorites. Debating if she should unblock him or not. Scared of what's to come next. But in order to get to the next step, she had to. Quickly, she unblocked his contact.
Soon, a spam of notifications appeared. Stating that she had 6 new notifications from messages.

As she read through the messages he sent her, her vision began to blur from the tears brimming her eyes. Hearing those words written out so beautifully by him.
Cursing herself for realizing it too late. Through every comment she's heard that upset or scared her, she was given the constant reassurance by him that she'll be safe with him. Through everytime she considered that they should break up, she always told herself that Hanbin is worth it all.
Hanbin will always be worth the pain.
_
Though she tried to talk to Hanbin earlier in the day so that it wouldn't seem like she was ignoring his texts from the night prior, it seemed like the world wasn't against her today.
Because of the game tonight, the basketball team was able to leave during PE so she missed him in their last two classes that they shared together. She was able to conjure the confidence to walk up to him during lunch but she pulled away from the planning committee to help plan for the class floats that were going to come out during halftime.
At least he knew that she was going to talk to him and wasn't planning to ignore him until the school year was over. His wide eyes and the clear shout from down the hall, telling her to come to the game tonight, an indiction of so.
It was better this way especially since she wanted to surprise him tonight and she knew she could never hide anything as big as this from him. So this no talking period between them both pained and relived her.
It also gave her more time to sneak around and plan her surprise for him in the period that she was waiting for the game to start with Yunjin. They had planned to grab some hotpot to fill their stomachs but Zhanghao forgot his shoes because of first game jitters so they had to go to his house and grab them. And while they did this task for him, he also complained that he needed it before the warmups started and told them not to take so long. Text messages rushing in every other minute to check up on where they are. He was unknowingly rushing them but they let it slide this time because they will never understand men's weird obsession with smelly clothes being their good luck charm and that it was his first game.
After giving the princess his stinky shoes, the two girls went to a nearby dollar tree to get the materials she needed for what she wanted to prepare for Hanbin. Yunjin dropped Y/N back at home so that the two of them could get some rest before heading out to the game. Yunjin asked Y/N if she wanted her to pick her up but being the person she is that didn't want to inconvenience anybody, Y/N insisted that she would walk there especially since it was still going to be light out when the game started.
She had so much running around today so who could blame her for falling asleep on the couch while watching reruns of Grey's Anatomy?
Maybe then if she took Yunjin up on the offer, she wouldn't have woken up to about 35 missed calls and 60 unread texts combined from both of her best friends. She wouldn't be frantically trying to grab everything and pay for an uber to school so she could get there before the game ended.
She slept through three and half quarters. With only 10 minutes remaining in the game.
Surprisingly with how fast she threw everything together and rushed out of the house to get into the car, she didn't trip over her foot once as she stumbled out of the uber. Leaving a hefty tip for the middle aged man who had to deal with her asking if he could drive any faster despite there being traffic to the school.
Struggling to catch her breath, she saw a large crowd of people exiting the gym. Confirming the worst possibility of all the possibilities.
The game ended on her and Hanbin was left thinking that she flaked on him.
Running towards the entrance, she immediately found Yunjin who grabbed the girl by her shoulder and pushed her away the crowd that stampeding out.
"Y/N! I tried calling and texting you. Where were you?"
"For the life of me, I could not wake up."
Yunjin sighed and began to rub her forehead in frustration," The balloons are still in my car and they should still be inflated. The game just ended and they should still be getting ready to go home."
"Then we have enough time."
"We have enough time."
Y/N took a deep breath, a shaky one that was filled so much anxiety.
"Hey, you don't have to do this. A man's love is not worth risking it all for something that you are not yet comfortable to do."
Y/N quickly shook her head," No, I want to. This is for him and for me."
Yunjin gave her a tight, warm hug," You'll do great. If all goes wrong, I'm just a phone call away and Hao will be nearby." And a quick second, the soft Yunjin was gone. A strict look on her face as she pointed her head towards the large tree at the side of the school," Let's get to work."
_
Y/N nervously tapped her foot against the pavement, crossing her arms together to gather warmth as a strong gust of wind flew by.
The sound of boys yelping and clammering of the locker room gained her attention, turning her head to find Hanbin in the crowd.
Because they are teenage boys, everyone looked the same especially after taking a shower. There were no differences in hair to tell them apart. Ignoring the side eyes and quick glances, she stepped closer to the entrance just to make sure she didn't miss.
Accidentally bumping into strong frame that immediately caught her.
"Y/N!" Matthew cheered, a wide smile at her appearance. " I didn't know you were coming tonight!"
"Oh... yeahh..." Y/N smiled softly back, her eyes darting from his face to whoever was coming up behind him.
"Did you see the basket I got? It was so intense because all of the guys from the other team were like ganging up on me and honestly I kinda rushed to throw the ball and it actually got in."
Y/N's mouth dropped down in shock," Dang, that's some real talent. But I'm sorry, I didn't get to see it. I... missed like the whole game."
"Wait then why are you here?"
Y/N leaned down to whisper," I'm actually going to ask Hanbin to homecoming."
Matthew's gasp came out louder than Y/N expected, his hands clasping down together with hers. "Dude no way!" He quickly pushed her into his arms and wrapped her into a hug as he swung their bodies left to right," I'm so proud of you. It's going to be great. I can't wait for you guys to-"
Y/N quickly pushed Matthew off when she opened her eyes and found Hanbin standing at the entrance, only a few feet away from them. He was already focused in the position the two were in, his eyes wide. When he finally snapped out of it, the emotions ran dry from his face as he cleared his throat.
"By all means, do not let me interrupt."
"Crap." Y/N and Matthew mumbled underneath their breaths as Hanbin began to storm off in the direction of the parking lot.
Without bidding a goodbye to Matthew, Y/N ran after the boy. His long legs benefitting him as whenever she thought she was caught up to him, she wasn't.
"Hanbin!" She yelled, her voice cracking as she never really spoke that loud unless she really needed to.
He stopped in his steps but continuing on.
Groaning out of frustration, she quickly ran again to grab his arm and made him face her. "Hanbin, please."
"No!" He threw her hand of his arm," You didn't text me back all night. And then I see you with Matthew. Y/N, you could've just told me what you wanted and spared me the shock because I'm already heartbroken as is."
Not finding the right words to say in the heat of the moment, Y/N pulled him in the direction of the soccer field.
Hanbin didn't resist but questions spurred out every second, telling her to say something or asking where she was taking him.
As they reached closer to the tree, she couldn't find which one it was as she couldn't seem to find the decorations that Yunjin and her rushed to do in 10 minutes. Curses sprang from her mouth when she finally found the sign. Only the sign. That wrote out Wanna Dance? in Zhanghao's chicken writing.
She immediately dropped Hanbin's hand, looking at the bare trees that no longer had his favorite colored balloons tied to them. And the lights that were scattered throughout the grass with the flowers all over the place. It looked like a tornado had blew through this place.
This was suppose to be perfect.
But it was all ruined because they didn't read the wind advisory warnings or tie down everything tight enough so that it would stay.
Tears quickly brimmed her eyes, turning back to look at Hanbin who still hadn't said anything or gave any type of reaction which worried her more.
"Binnie... I swear there was so much more. I wouldn't... I wouldn't do something as basic as this. I had everything planned and it was so pretty when I finished setting it up with Yunjin." The salty tears ran down to her mouth, causing her to involuntarily bring her hand up to rub at her eyes. Between sobs, she whispered underneath her breath," I had it all planned. I wanted it to be perfect for you because you've done so much me and I love you so much. I wanted to prove to show you that I love you just as much, if not more, as you do."
She kept rambling on and on how everything was ruined.
She would've jolted if not for the fact that his warm touch was comforting on her skin. His hands pulling her arms down so that her hands were off his face.
"Binnie... I'm so sorry. I understand if you don't want to get-"
Lips halted her mid-apology. Hanbin's cupping her cheek as he moved his lips against hers. He pushed in harder, encouraging her to join him which she did. Her arms wrapped around his neck, eyes fluttering close as their lips fought eagerly against each other.
"Don't finish that sentence." His lips connecting against hers before he pulled away to catch his breath," You know I'll always want you. I love you."

blanket ― shb.
pairing ⇢ sung hanbin x gn!reader
genre ⇢ pure fluff
warnings ⇢ none
word count ⇢ 690
synopsis ⇢ in the depth of the night, you’re awoken by screaming, but not from your boyfriend who’s still awake.
notes ⇢ i wrote this for a friend as my first piece so enjoy bestie
you didn’t know when you had fallen asleep, or even how. it wasn’t like you to fall asleep before your boyfriend. one moment you were telling hanbin about how you came across a really fluffy blanket to replace the one you two have been using, and the next, you were awoken by some incoherent screaming.
eyes trying to adjust to the almost dark room–the only thing illuminating it being the light from hanbin’s phone–you squinted to see what the screaming was.
it sure wasn’t his, unless he somehow became a middle-aged woman in your sleep. it was probably a video, but the real question was why he was watching a video of someone screaming late at night in the first place.
“hanbin?” you asked, which noticeably caused his shoulders to jump.
“oh, you’re awake. sorry, i tried to mute it as quickly as possible,” he explained as he adjusted the blankets for you, which had dragged down while you were sleeping, probably due to you kicking around in your sleep.
“mmm…why is there…a middle-aged woman…screaming on your phone?” you asked, pausing between words as your vocal cords forced themselves to work after being jolted awake.
“gyuvin sent a video into our group chat, and i opened it without much thought. but it’s gyuvin so i should have expected no less. sorry again,” he apologized yet again, angling the phone in the opposite direction when he noticed how it was burning your eyes, “you should head back to bed.”
“you…should too. it’s…getting really late.”
had you been more awake, or if the room was lit properly, you may have caught how hanbin gave a small smile, the kind where his eyes would still crinkle ever so slightly, at your sleepy expression. still, your ears were able to pick up the small chuckle that left his mouth, which kicked your brain awake a little to see if you were hearing right.
“why are you laughing?” you asked, a small pout forming on your lips as if that would do anything for your situation despite the room barely being lit enough to see your silhouettes.
“it’s just…” he began as he shut his phone off, placing it on the bedside table.
“just what?” you asked once more, watching him melt into the blankets next to you, shuffling around to get comfortable under the blanket that definitely needed to be replaced after so many years of love poured into it.
though, you wouldn’t throw this one out. it carried too many memories, too many memories of the memories of your relationship, to just throw away. the blanket he bought the first time you stayed over because he was afraid his own wasn’t soft enough. the blanket you two would make tents with to watch the latest episode of the show you were watching. the blanket that had stains from when you two were too busy laughing to notice how you spilled some of your ramen on it. the blanket he would only use if it involved the two of you.
it was ironic how the blanket that was bought for its soft properties became rough as the years went by. that was what happened when things were used as love. even then, you couldn’t admit that it was becoming less warm as the years went by. even now, you were shivering under them, the body heat between you two barely accommodating. you would replace it, but you would keep this one as a memory of your relationship. who knows? maybe you’ll even have a blanket collection with all the ones you’ve shared with hanbin by the time you’ve grown old.
“just that you’re cute even when you’re half-asleep like this,” he finished once he found comfortability close to you.
“oh you,” you scolded, pushing his shoulder at the cheesy comment, “i don’t think i’m half-asleep anymore because of that comment.”
“well, you better sleep. it’s getting really late,” he mimicked your earlier words.
you rolled your eyes. of course he would play that game with you. “okay, fine. goodnight my wonderful boyfriend who woke me up in the middle of the night.”
“goodnight lovely.”

pussydrunk binnie ^^
love your writings btw <33
cw oral f!receiving, clit play, fingering, squirting, overstimulation, mentions of a safe word, one pussy spank 18+ MDNI
✉️ A HANBIN ASK FINALLYY

I think that Hanbin loves clit play. When he eats you out, he’ll go straight for your clit, spitting on your pussy and watching as it drips down your folds before mixing with your own juices. Then, he’ll take the little bud into his mouth. Just knowing that he’s able to give you so much pleasure by just barely stimulating your clit drives him absolutely insane. All he wants to do is make you feel good, and he knows he’s doing that when he runs his tongue around your clit, encouraging the blood to rush to the nub to get it to harden. Hanbin dips his tongue down further between your folds, collecting your juices on his tongue before licking back up to your clit. The taste of you always has his mind floating away from him as he gets lost in his favorite place in the world: between your thighs.
Hanbin needs to have you consume all of his senses. Needs the heady smell of sex in his nose as the taste of your perfect pussy is soaked onto his tongue. He doesn’t care if you’re pulling at his hair or if you’re crying that it’s too much. You have a safe word, and it’s not his name, so as far as he’s concerned, you’re asking for more. He’s moaning against your clit, the vibrations making your thighs tremble as you cum again, pussy gushing your release as Hanbin finally sinks two fingers into you. When you try to wiggle your hips away, Hanbin removes his mouth from you as much as it pains him to land a gentle smack on your clit. Not enough to hurt, but to remind you to stay still. “M’not done…” he mumbles as he sucks your clit back into his mouth, the sounds of his spit and your cum squelching around his fingers filling the room.
Best believe that he’s grinning as you finally squirt on his face, his tongue replacing his fingers inside you as he drinks up every drop you have to offer. His thumb just rests on your swollen clit, enough pressure to get you through your high before he pulls away. You can barely keep your eyes open as Hanbin looks at you, a giddy look on his face while your arousal and cum shine against his chin.

read part 1 here read part 3 here

“Why are you restless, my love?” Hanbin asked softly as he wrapped his left arm around your shoulder, the fabric of his robe draping over your skin and shielding you from the cool night breeze.
“I think we are making a mistake, Hanbin.” You said quietly. Hanbin could feel the weight of your words despite how vague they were. He tilted his head and focused his crimson eyes on you, attempting to read your thoughts.
The skill was challenging to use on other vampires. You were neither human nor a recently turned vampire, so your thoughts were safely hidden from most. The connection of your souls made it easier for Hanbin to get in, though. And when he did, gathering a few more pieces of information about what was bothering you, he knew you were probably right.
“You mean about humans?” His hand slowly rubbed over your arm, a simple tranquillity spell dispersing from his fingertips. This, unlike the mind reading, was something he could do without any effort. He often used it on you when he could, to help calm you in any way. You always noticed when he did, and he knew you appreciated the gesture by the look in your eyes. The same happened now, as he felt your body slowly relax in his hold.
“They are coming into the age of technology— progressing at a rate faster than we’ve ever seen before. The elders have grown foolish. They have not seen the outside world for themselves in hundreds of years. They still think humans are weak and easy.” You explained the things that Hanbin knew very well. As merely a short thousand years old or a little more, both of you were at the front of missions and leading forces. Being young and able-bodied yet skilled enough to face almost anything, there was little left to improve on.
“Their guns have grown more powerful. So have their bombs. They are no longer scared, weak, foolishly mortal beings who run around with pitchforks and torches. They have weapons causing damage that not even the best of spells could hope to remedy. I’ve explained this all to the elders, but they won’t listen to my suggestions. They don’t believe me.” You said in defeat, faced with an impossible task.
Never before had you seen your fellow vampires die so quickly. Bullets seared through their bodies faster than the wind, and it only took a couple to knock a vampire unconscious. It was only a matter of time before the wounds killed them. The simple truth you were faced with was almost impossible to accept.
Humans were growing stronger than vampires. Despite their weak bodies, their propensity for fear, their stupidity, or their short life-spans. The advantage they had over vampires was constant adaptation and invention. You could barely name a change in the castle in 800 years, but the changes to the human world were endless. And each one was more impressive than the last.
Diseases that had once killed millions were being researched and prevented, a problem of the past for humans. Modern technology in the form of telephones, space travel, and computers aided in all facets of human life. It was simply astonishing how fast the world could change. Vampires simply had no way to keep up, you realized.
“It will take time for them to come around, but they will. When they see for themselves how many we’ve lost— how we are no longer overpowering humans tenfold. They will surely change their course of action then.” Hanbin words soothed your worried heart. You felt foolish for wanting to believe every word that came out of his mouth, but it felt like second nature. You just hoped he was right.
“This is it?” You asked, glancing at Hanbin from across the table to catch his nod. On the marble surface lay a large rifle, one that had single-handedly taken out 3 of your vampires that evening with just 5 bullets.
It had been several months since your worry had started, and you realized now that you had vastly underestimated how quickly humans improved. What once took 10 or more bullets to fatally injure a vampire now decreased to just 1 or 2. If this is what humans could do in just a few months, what more developments could they introduce in 10 years?
“They’ve developed this model for the past couple of months to specifically target our weaknesses. They must have studied one of our men to know that silver bullets would be more deadly than anything else. When aimed at our hearts, it’s very easy to kill a vampire with just 1 shot.” Hanbin said wearily, his expression growing dim like yours.
“For the first time ever, they’re killing us faster than we’re turning them.” You muttered, trying to not let the thought terrify you. It could easily mean the extinction of vampires within a short hundred years.
You turned to the elders who you were consulting about the issue, studying their pale faces. Seungwoo looked stone faced, which you expected. He was one of the few elders who knew about the situation, as he often went out into the human world, disguising himself as one of them. As the most advanced healer among the clan, he had tended to many of the injured fighters in the past months. He was familiar with the damage the weapon could do, and the number of vampires that had been lost to its deadly silver bullets.
Zhang Hao looked surprised, and maybe even a little bit scared at the news. His eyes were wide, but he kept his face as stoic as possible. He was one of the most powerful vampires concerning spells. His magic was strong and his knowledge was vast. He knew ancient rituals and was able to create entirely new incantations by studying old texts. You respected his opinion on the issue, and was sure he would be able to advise how to train the younger vampires with protective charms.
You skipped past the dozen or so council member elders, and turned finally to Sejeong, watching her face twist in anger. She never failed to lead the vampires expertly, but her temper was a cause of concern for you. She held grudges against the humans more personally than Hao or Seungwoo. She had often been at the front of the battlefield hundreds of years ago, and she had seen no shortage of vampire bloodshed. Under her reign there had been centuries of peace, as she wisely chose to not engage with the humans unless necessary. Now that they were actively seeking out her citizens, though, she wasn’t willing to let it slide.
You could predict many possible outcomes from this. Sejeong’s ruling might result in peace once again, or in a war that no one would be able to survive. It was your duty to trust and follow her every command, operating on her word to the best of your abilities, but you had never experienced such high risks. You were worried you might not make it out of this battle, or worse, that Hanbin would face death with you.
The 3 elders you had watched expectantly, having been the very 3 to conjoin yours and Hanbin’s souls, were well aware of the risks. Vampire souls were not naturally supposed to meld together, and although you and Hanbin were perfectly matched, your joining still faced consequences. If one of you died, it was likely that the other would not be able to survive alone. Whenever you called to one another through your tattoos, you had to bear the burning sensation that came from using such power. If one of you was in pain, the other experienced it too. There was never a burden that could be held by just one person. You and Hanbin were a pair, and you simply could not be separated.
It was back in Hanbin’s tower after the meeting that you voiced your concern. After Sejeong decided on facing the problem head on, just as you expected, and it was only a matter of days before you would be sent out to attack.
“I think it would be best if we stuck together at all times. If you get out of my sight, I won’t know if you’re safe.” You said quietly, biting the inside of your cheek in worry. Hanbin walked across the room, joining you on the couch, lacing his hand with yours.
“I won’t go anywhere without you, even if it means disobeying the elders' orders. We don’t know what could happen to our souls if one of us gets hurt. We’re meant to be together, not apart.” You continued, meeting Hanbin’s crimson eyes with yours.
He nodded, “Whatever you wish.” He squeezed your hand reassuringly.
“I should close the curtain. The sun is coming up.” You kissed his cheek and stood up to do so. Hanbin’s eyes watched you as you walked across the room and drew the blinds. He leaned back against the sofa, gaze still fixed on you as you shuffled through the bookcase on the wall, picking up a history book about ancient vampire civilizations. He could see the anxiety in your eyes, and he felt a twist in his stomach, mirroring yours.
“Calm down, Y/n. We’ll be alright, no matter what happens.” Hanbin said. He motioned for you to put down the book and come back to his arms. “Stop worrying about me. I’ll be fine. I won’t get hurt. I promise I won’t.” He whispered to you, a comforting smile on his face.
You wondered how he could always be so sure and confident. You were constantly riddled with worries, but, like always, Hanbin assured you, easing your anxiety with his words or his spells. You could feel his magic work on you as he wrapped his arms around you, and you instantly felt at peace.
You stayed in his arms until the sun had fully risen, savouring the quiet moments while you still could. There would be no spare moment to relax once the full moon came. You couldn’t ask for him to keep the calming spell going all day, but for as long as you were in his arms, you allowed yourself to let him take your mind off of everything.
You even managed to fall asleep from how comfortable you were cuddled in his hold. When you woke up and looked up at him, his eyes had fallen shut as well, but you could tell he was only dozing. Beads of sweat had gathered on his forehead from how long he had been casting the spell. Even though it was a fairly easy one that he had mastered centuries ago, keeping it going for hours at a time still took an extreme amount of energy.
You kissed his cheek, watching as his eyes opened slowly. He smiled and wiped his dewy skin, sitting up slowly. You felt the spell wear off as Hanbin relaxed his shoulders, and the thoughts flooding your head came back immediately. A sigh left your lips. You couldn’t ask him to keep it going for any longer. You felt guilty for how long he had been doing it already, knowing just how exhausting it must have been.
“You didn’t have to do that for so long.” You whispered, standing up from his lap and circling around to the back of the couch. You unclasped the outer cloth of his long robe, leaving just the tunic and pants he was wearing. Your hands fell to his neck and shoulders, slowly starting to massage the muscles, working out the knots he had developed.
His eyes fell shut, a pained whine escaping his lips from the sensation. He was always so focused on taking care of you, he rarely noticed when his own body was suffering. He felt relieved as the pain slowly subsided with the help of one of your healing spells, the touch of your fingers over his bare skin becoming softer.
Your fingers lingered on the side of his neck when you were done, circling the pads of your pointer and middle finger over his pulsepoint, feeling the faint beating of his heart. It was slower in pace than humans, but it was still felt from the touch of your finger.
The life of vampires relied on magical powers (and a constant supply of blood) over bodily function. In his life as a human, Hanbin’s heart had been the most vital organ to his survival. But now, keeping his body healthy so his powers flowed freely was of equal importance. The two were still intertwined, a constant balance was the key to being a powerful vampire. Poor bodily function translated to weakened power. The fact that you could still hear Hanbin’s heart clearly was a testament to his abilities. It would take an extraordinary force to weaken him to the point of death, and that thought comforted you.
You had seen many conflicts in your lifetime, mostly human wars of which vampires were no part of. But it was an entirely different feeling standing at the front of the battleline in the dead of night, preparing your strongest spells, knowing you were vastly outnumbered by the enemy’s army.
Hanbin was by your side, his finger still barely grazing your hand, trying to get as much strength from you before the fight started. Fear filled both of your body’s, but a strong determination overpowered it. The risk was immense, but you needed to win. You would come out of it alive, no matter what.
The explosions were deafening, ringing in your ears at ten times the intensity that they sounded to humans. It was dizzying, and you could barely keep track of the spells you were casting. They seemed to be working well enough to defend yourself, as any man who charged at you soon found himself in a pool of his own blood on the grass.
You weren’t sure how long you had been fighting, or how many more men you could hold off. It felt like they just kept coming. You had never used this much power all at once, but you couldn’t stop even for a second. It couldn’t go on forever, right?
There was no big explosion, nor were any human soldiers in range to hurt you. You weren’t in the line of gunshots. There was no possible way a grenade could have reached you without you noticing it. So why did you suddenly feel such excruciating pain?
Hanbin. Where was Hanbin?
The smoke on the battlefield hindered the humans from seeing, but you were effortlessly able to clear a path. It was easy to find Hanbin— you always came back to him without even thinking. You knew where he was immediately, and your legs carried you to him in an instant.
His eyes looked scared as they met yours. He was on his knees, surrounded by the men he had taken out, their blood soaked on his skin and clothes. The crimson of his eyes had faded, suggesting his weakening state. You couldn’t tell what blood was his, but you could tell that he was losing it fast.
“Hanbin— get up. Get up, please.” You grabbed his arm in a panic, pulling him up to his feet and supporting his body on yours as you quickly found a sheltered spot to let him sit.
“What happened? Why are you hurt— you said you wouldn’t get hurt.” You cried, holding a bloody palm to your tattoos, trying to summon a healing spell. Hanbin was barely breathing; struggling to stay conscious for you.
After hours of fighting, your power had grown weak. The pain you experienced, mirroring the injuries on Hanbin’s body, also prevented you from conjuring the spell. You gave up trying to get it from the source, realising that it wouldn’t work in your current state. Instead, you placed your hands on Hanbin’s chest, your fingers touching the ink on his collarbone. You closed your eyes tightly, mustering as much strength as you could to reach his body. His tattoos flickered, wanting to shine brightly from your touch, but unable to summon enough power for it.
He gasped, air flooding his lungs again. His eyes watered from the pain, and he instinctively tried to push your hands away, although he knew that they were what was still keeping him alive. The blood loss was driving his body and mind crazy; the need, the thirst for it, overwhelming. You realized what was going on from just his face, the unmistakable sign of a bloodthirsty vampire flashing in his faint eyes.
“Take mine.” You said quickly, pushing your garment to the side, exposing your neck to him.
“N-no, I can’t.” He whispered, terrified at the thought of hurting you.
“Please. You’ll die.” You begged, your voice laced with desperation. Strangely, you had no fear. You didn’t care about how much it would hurt, or if it would drive you bloodthirsty as well. You just needed him to survive.
Due to his weak state, you were able to overpower him. You forced his mouth open in desperation, revealing the sharp fangs on his top row of teeth. He cried, having no strength to stop you. He would rather die than risk causing you harm.
Hanbin submitted to your wishes, knowing that if he didn’t comply with biting you, you would find a different, more dangerous way to give him your blood. He sunk his fangs weakly into your neck and forced himself to suck. The taste of your blood trickling down his throat instantly curbed the insatiable need for it. You cried out in pain, feeling your strength wither as your blood left you. The sound broke Hanbin’s heart, icy tears falling from his eyes.
The taste of your blood was sweet and warm, but Hanbin refused to enjoy a single drop of it. As soon as he felt a fraction of his strength coming back, he used it to push you off of him.
You looked back at him and the entire world seemed to disappear. The fight was still ongoing behind you, but no shouts or explosions reached your ears. His eyes slowly gained back their colour, flickering to yours and softening. With tear stains on his cheeks and blood splattered across his face and neck, he reached for you gently, hesitantly. Almost too hesitant to be quite like him.
“I hurt you.” He said in anguish, his eyes unable to leave the wound on your neck. “Why did you let me hurt you?” He searched your face for an answer, and it stared right back at him. Losing him would be more painful to you than any wound, even if he was the one who gave it to you. He could hurt you, wound you, or even kill you, and you would still give yourself up to him without needing to think.
Vampires always felt cold, but Hanbin’s touch felt exceptionally gelid when it reached your cheek. He looked gaunt, his exhaustion evident even after he had gotten some strength back. You needed to get him to safety, somewhere where skilled healers could tend to him. His eyes looked scared. Not scared of the battle, but scared of himself and what he had done to you.
“You could never hurt me. Just please stay alive.” You whispered, holding his bloodied hand. His eyes still naturally drew back to your neck, shaky breaths leaving him as he processed your words and nodded weakly.
He bent to kiss you with the energy he had, the action portraying a million thoughts and feelings. You felt him crumble in your arms, his body giving out on him as his lips touched yours. You held him steady, supporting his neck so his head didn’t fall. His eyelids drooped, and with a trembling breath you realized the carmine colour of his eyes was fading again.
“No, no Hanbin, please.” Your hands fumbled, trying to think of what to do. You simply had no power left to give to him. Your hand slipped to his waist, trying to readjust him into a better position. That’s when you felt the warm liquid on your hand.
The wound must have been from a bullet, you deduced quickly. No other weapon that humans possessed could have caused him to bleed so much. The bullet had pierced him in merely half a second, lodging itself in his side. It was a wonder how such a small piece of silver could do so much damage to a vampire as powerful as Hanbin. He was dazed, the feeling of you pressing on the wound to try to stop the bleeding the only sensation he could discern.
Shouts grew louder in your ear. Although you had found a hidden space away from the battle, you were still exposed to danger. You stood carefully, pulling Hanbin up with you. Your only hope now was to get him back to safety as quickly as possible. His soul was still clinging to the bit of energy you had given him, but you wouldn’t have much time before it ran out completely.
He stumbled as he rose to his feet, doing his best to support his own weight. He would have fallen back into your arms if something hadn’t hit him quicker. A small piece of silver, not more than 2 centimetres, seared straight through his chest, and a gasp fell from his lips.
You heard the shot. You felt it too, in the middle of your chest, a scathing pain spreading up your neck. You failed to catch Hanbin in time before he fell.
It was over. You knew you had failed. Your options were expended and your time running out. Dropping to the ground as well, you clung to his body. With no energy left to fight, much less save him, you accepted the loss. Closing your eyes, you gathered him in your arms and pressed a kiss to his forehead as if you were comforting a small child.
It was a send off, of sorts. A last goodbye, and a testament to your love. He took his final breath, cradled safe in your arms, protected from the world. After all he had given for you, he deserved to rest comfortably.
As his soul perished, you felt yours fading as well. He was taking you with him, knowing you could never live apart from him. Intertwined in every way, even until death. That was the fate you and him shared.

heyy! you can totally ignore this is ur not comfy but i’m sick (and delusional) rn so how would zb1 react to reader having a nose bleed when they’re hiding their sickness 🫶
anyways i love all your work so farrr <33

— ☆ zb1 reacting to you getting a nose bleed
gn!reader x zb1 (ot9)
genre: slight angst, fluff // warnings: BLOOD obviously, arguments/yelling, tears uhuh. reader is sick and tired...
author’s note: get well soon anon :(( i am once again writing angst today what is happening!!! thank you for requesting though hehe and let me call jebewon real quick and tell them to take care of you!!! (★ω★)/ [requested♡]
ੈ✩‧₊˚ jiwoong
he would totally panic but only internally. in reality, he will try to act composed to take care of you and your nose bleed. will get you some tissues and a warm towel to wipe the blood stains off your nose. once he made sure the nose bleed had stopped, his panic mode will comeback and he's going to ask you thousands of questions!! if you tell him that it's not the first time that it has happened this week he will obviously lecture you and force you to cuddle with him until you get better. "didn't i tell you to stay in bed?" jiwoong asks. "i'm just going to open the door, calm down." you chuckle, trying to get behind your boyfriend who was standing in front of the door, blocking it. a sudden smile breaks the serious look on his face. he lifts you up and throws you on the bed. "i'll be your legs for this week so stay here, will you?"
ੈ✩‧₊˚ hao
very confused when you were casually talking on the couch and he notices the blood dripping from your nose. probably like :O for a few seconds before you kindly ask him to get you some tissues. trips and bumps into furniture a few times on his way to the bathroom because he's confused and panicked. however, when you tell him you've been kinda sick but you were hiding it from him, prepare yourself to get yelled at lmao. of course, not to the point to make you cry but i see him just screaming some incoherent sentences (definitely curses in chinese under his breath lol) about how you need to take your health seriously. in the end, he will softly kiss you and make a promise to never hide anything from the other again :]
ੈ✩‧₊˚ hanbin
leader mode activated!!!! as soon as he noticed your nose was bleeding, he tells you not to panic as he gets a tissue from his bag. he softly places it on your face and explains to you what's happening. you might think he's the calmest one but his eyes can't lie!! he's looking at you with such a concerned face when you tell him your health hasn't been the best lately. you chuckle, letting him know that he doesn't need to worry. he sighs and takes your hands in his, asking you to please tell him when you're sick so he can help you with chores, work, etc. throughout the week, when you get up to cook, clean or even go out instead of resting, he will call your name sternly and point to the bed with a small nod, indicating you to go lie down before he does it himself.
ੈ✩‧₊˚ matthew
super confused n°2. when he notices you rushing to the bathroom from your desk, he doesn't really question it. but when he goes to wash his hands and sees the blood-stained tissues in the trashcan, he knew something wasn't right. matthew comes up from behind you, who was super focused writing on your laptop, and wraps his arms around your torso. he starts pressing some kisses along your jawline, suggesting you to take a break. when you don't seem to move at his words, he turns your chair around and cups your cheeks with his hands. upon seeing the tired look on your face, he asks if you've been sick lately. when you tell him you were but didn't want to tell him, he takes you in his arms and carries you to the bed. you end up talking a bit (mainly matthew ranting about how much he loves you and how you should take care of yourself) before falling asleep.
ੈ✩‧₊˚ taerae
takes it extremely seriously. your nose starts bleeding again and you sigh, grabbing another tissue. the box was almost empty with the amount of times it had happened this week. you reassure taerae that you were used to it as his eyes widen. he cannot believe you've been hiding the fact that you were sick from him and worse, that you lied; saying you were fine whenever he asked you how you were doing. i wouldn't even be surprised if a small argument occured because i feel like taerae would base his relationships on trust and you hiding something from him will definitely hurt him a little. probably gives you the silent treatment for 3 hours (cause he's just dramatic like that) before coming back to your shared room to check up on you. when he discovers that you still haven't taken a break he throws a blanket on your face and drags you to the bed (on the floor, if he has to). wouldn't talk for a good 20 minutes before sighing and telling you to never hide anything from him again. he also apologizes for the small fight and kisses your face over and over again <3
ੈ✩‧₊˚ ricky
like every friday, ricky was taking you on a date. you had fallen sick at the beginning of the week and you kinda wish you could’ve staid home today. but since it was the only day you two could really hang out, you didn't want to cancel your plans. you were sitting on the bed, waiting for ricky who takes forever to get ready. your head starts spinning so you briefly close your eyes in hope that the feeling will go away. you hear him softly call your name, asking your opinion on which tie would suit him better. and you know how they get nose bleeds when they see someone attractive in anime? well today, ricky thought that it could also happen in real life. he starts to laugh, saying how your body can't handle his charm, in a teasing voice. when you tell him it's because you've been sick though, his smile drops immediately. he can't really hide the embarrassing blush on his ears as he apologizes for this bad "joke" (he was completely serious). "then let's stay inside today, yeah?" he suggests, opening his arms for a hug.
ੈ✩‧₊˚ gyuvin
another dramatic one omg... i also see him being kinda terrified of blood so he will probably throw you some tissues from a distance, his face turned away from you and his eyes shut. you can't help but laugh at his behaviour while he screams that it's not something to joke about and that he will call his mom to drop you off at the hospital. "i've just been feeling kinda sick, don't worry about it", you confess but he suddenly grabs your face, shaking it slightly "why didn't you tell me!?", he screams. gyuvin abruptly stops his action, his face growing dark again when he thinks about the possibility of another nose bleed happening from shaking you like this. later, you end up watching a movie together, finally allowing yourself to rest. you can't help but giggle every 5 minutes when you turn your head just to see gyuvin staring at you with big eyes "are you REALLY sure you're okay??". please kiss him and tell him you're alright for the nth time today because my man is STRESSED.
ੈ✩‧₊˚ gunwook
see, gunwook is super attentive so i don't think it would be so easy to hide the fact that you were sick. you noticed how he would check up on you more often, and how he would offer to do the chores for you (even though he would always whine when he had to do them). when you kept telling him that you were alright, he tried to appear less concerned but so many questions were still running at the back of his mind. his assumptions were finally revealed to be true as a drop of blood lands on your sheet while you were studying together. you try to hide your face from him, quickly grabbing a tissue to clean the blood. "let me see." he cups your cheeks, obliging you to look at him. you had never seen him so serious and if you were being honest, the unusual frown on his face was scaring you a little. you spoke first, admitting that you've been sick and apologizing for not letting him know. gunwook shushes you with a peck on your forehead as he sees your eyes water. you spend the entire night talking about your concerns, holding and comforting each other. <3
ੈ✩‧₊˚ yujin
doesn't really make it a big deal. or at least that's how it looks like. yujin has been observing how hard you've working and how you would look a bit more tired than usual. you would reply late to his texts, ignore his calls because you were "sleeping", tell him that you can't meet up because you're busy...again... he was once again having trouble falling asleep tonight as many thoughts were clouding his mind. he had even asked his mom and his friends about how to bring the subject up with you. looking at the time on the clock, he gets up and decides to walk to your house, not knowing if you would even be awake to let him in. you open the door, a tissue stuffed into your nostril and awkwardly greet yujin. he stares at you blankly before letting himself in and closing the door behind him. without a word, he hugs you "you're stupid", his voice sounds weak. you apologize, rubbing his back as you hear his sobs, he must have been so worried to see you like this. "promise me to never overwork yourself again when you're sick", he pulls away and dries his tears. "i promise", you murmurs and interlocks pinkies.

𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓢𝓹𝓪𝓬𝓮𝓼 𝓘𝓷-𝓑𝓮𝓽𝔀𝓮𝓮𝓷: Prolouge
Synopsis: Hanbin sets out to find his crew one by one he finds them.
Genre: Sci-fi Adventure, Angst
Pairings: ZB1 X OC
Word count: 5.2k (5,286)
Info/ Masterlist / Next
The Space ship was significant, containing at least 18 bedrooms with workout space, a kitchen, and many more amenities. However, the ship was heavily damaged and needed constant repairs. Hanbin had been saving up for this ship for a long time. He worked on cargo loading and transport for a long time. He was excited to finally be able to start his own journey with his own crew. But, now that he is in front of it, he feels alone and isolated. He needs to find a crew and fast, preferably some people who can work on fixing the ship. He was so lost in thought, staring at the ship, that he hadn’t realized the kid was standing beside him.
“This is sick. I haven’t seen a ship this size since I was 8.” The person spoke, looking at the ship with a smile.
The person turns to Hanbin, extends their hand, and states,“ I’m Han Yujin, by the way. I'm here to show you how the ship works.”
Hanbin is silent at first. This kid in front of him could not be more than 13 years old.
How can he tell me about the tech on the ship? It's probably older than him.
“I know I look young. I grew up around the ship,” Yujin states when Hanbin looks at him with a confused face.
“I’m Hanbin. How old are you? Shouldn’t you be in school?” Hanbin extended his hand hesitantly, and Yujin accepted, shaking it back.
“I'm 16. Growing up, I just studied many ships in my free time, so it's like second nature,” Yujin led Hanbin onto the ship.
“ I notice that there seems to be a lot of issues with the oxygen system, so I can repair that before you head off…” Yujin rambles on about the issue of the ship, and in Hanbin eyes, Yujin would be perfect, but he might be young for the type of work he wants to do. “... also light travel will be tougher due to the size, but I can add that on in--”
Hanbin interrupts Yujin, “ Why don’t you join my crew? It is clear this ship needs repair, and if you can spot those little details to fix. You are smarter than most ship repair people.”
Yujin was stunned. He had thought of sinking on a ship and leaving, but who would help train the new mechanic? What about his friends? He can’t leave them.
“ I appreciate the offer, but I have friends that need me,” Yujin stated in a dejecting way.
“It's clear you want to come. Do these friends of yours have skills like you?” Hanbin asks. Yujin thinks maybe they can join him. But he doesn’t know if they want to leave this planetary system.
“ I have one friend who is good with computers and tech. The others get into fights a lot, though” Yujin states, laughing and looking at anything but Hanbin.
“ Well, I’m here for the next few days; why don’t you introduce me, and maybe they can join you too?” Hanbin states he thought finding his crew might be a good idea.
“ Uh… If they agree, then I’ll join.” Yujin states
Gyuvin was sitting in the stands outside a cage with a computer in his hands. He couldn't care less who was in the ring; he was more focused on trying to find work as a technology expert. The crowd around him was loud and noisy, yelling at the people in the cage—some people flaunting their wealth and screaming at the fight in the ring. The current match that everyone was screaming at nearly the end of the match. Gyuvin was only here waiting for one person, and his match was next.
When the 1st match was over, Gyuvin had closed his laptop. He watches as the ring worker drags the loser's unconscious body out of the ring. Gyuvin stands looking at the ring, seeing the next opponent to enter the ring.
“ That was great, ladies and gentlemen. The last person's fight against the feared Titan is new. The rookie beast Gunwook Park!” The crowd boos the new challenger in the ring. However, Gyuvin smirks, seeing his friends entering the ring.
Gunwook was physically fit, with his broad shoulders and lean body. He entered the ring with a stoic face, not daring to show a reaction. Gyuvin goes to the betting booth to look at his friend's odds of winning.
The sign states: Gunwook V. Titan - 1:25
Gyuvin pulls out 200 credits and speaks to the bookie, “ 200 credits,”
“ 200 on Titan”
“No, Gunwook.” The bookie shakes his head and hands Gyuvin back a ticket. Gyuvin walks closer to the ring, squeezing his way through the crowd. He makes his way toward the ring fence and spots Gunwook's corner. He catches Gunwook attention and sends him a thumbs-up. Gunwook smirks and gets ready to fight.
“ Gyuvin, what the hell are you doing here?” Gyuvin cringes at the voice. It was a female voice and one that he recognized well.
“ Hey, Izumi, funny seeing you here; I thought you would be back in the shelter,” Gyuvin stated, scratching their head and focusing on the match. Gunwook also spots the person standing next to him and laughs to himself.
“ This is what you guys sneak out to do; why Gunwook returns with a bruise.” Izumi crosses her arms and looks at Gyuvin. `
“ Yes, now we need to cheer on Gunwook`.” Gyuvin turns Izumi toward the ring. The bell rings, and Gunwook stands from the corner. Izumi closed there eyes and shuffled closer to Gyuvin, trying to avoid the sight of the rough fight.
The Titan strikes Gunwook, directing the punch toward his head. Gunwook could barely dodge the punch, and he felt the rush of air pulling past his ear. The crowd cheers for Titan, and Gunwook knows there are only two people in the crowd who are on his side. Gunwook took the opportunity and went for Titan's arms. His attempt was successful, and he flipped Titan to the ground. Gyuvin cheered as the rest of the crowd reeled in anguish.
“ What’s happening?” Izumi's eyes were still closed, and They were speaking toward Gyuvin.
“ He is winning; that’s what's happening,” Gyuvin said with a smirk. “ and we are going to be able to buy a ticket out of this stupid system,”
“Well, I would say keep your money.” Izumi says, “Yujin said he has a way out of this system.”
“Last time I trusted Yujin, I lost 1,000 credits and was still here,” Gyuvin spoke, still looking at the fight.
“ Yujin met a guy in the mechanic bay looking for a crew, and the ride would be free. Just have to stick with the ship.”
“ That sounds too good to be true,”
“ Yujin, check the dude's background. He is legit, Gyuvin,” Izumi states. “Gunwook, Yujin, and you can finally leave, and you can keep your credits,”
Gunwook had put Titan on the ground and secured him into a headlock. He was waiting for the titan to tap out, but the titan was scratching his legs and punching his arms. But Gunwook was in pain but silent, hoping the titan would sleep. Izumi finally decided to take a peek at the ring. They see Gunwook grinding their teeth as the titan struggles to escape his grasp. Eventually, the titan loses consciousness and collapses to the ground. Gunwook lets go immediately and stands victoriously. Gyuvin cheers, and the people around them seem annoyed that a rookie beat the reigning champion. Gunwook leaves the ring and joins his friend in the crowd.
“ Izumi, I thought the Goodie would be back at the shelter,” Gunwook spoke, wiping the sweat off his forehead.
“ They say Yujin has an opportunity for us to leave this system and be a part of the crew finally,” Gyuvin spoke with his arms crossed over his chest, standing in disbelief.
“ If you two don’t believe me, at least meet the guy offering Yujin,” Izumi pleaded. Gunwook is convinced but looks to Gyuvin for confirmation.
“ Fine, I will sit down and talk to him,” Gyuvin gave up. He doesn’t believe this is real, but if Izumi is convinced, he might try it.
------
One month later
“ Do you have any idea where we are going?” Gunwook asked, sitting in an open chair within the cockpit. Hanbin was looking at the dashboard with intergalactic maps next to it. He could barely hear the question, more focused on not crashing the ship into an asteroid.
“ Hey…. Captain.” Gunwwok spoke again and waved his hand in front of Hanbin's face. It effectively woke him up from his daze.
“ What… Sorry,” Hanbin spoke, still looking at the maps.
“ I asked. Do you have any idea where we are going?” Gunwook spoke, leaning on the dash console.
“ Yeah, of course.” Hanbin laughed off, “ One of the outer planetary systems to stop and stock up before the next mission.”
Hanbin had straightened his posture at the question, though Gunwook didn’t believe him. Over the past month, Gunwook had spent most of his time on the ship with Hanbin. Gyuvin and Yujin were focused on repairing the ship and rarely gave Gunwook the time of day. He learns what Hanbin tells and knows when Hanbin is lying to him. It helps when you grow where they did.
“ Look, next time we stop, we should look for a navigator or someone that can get us better-paying gigs at least.”
“ You may be right, but we need to start making more money before we hire anyone else,” Hanbin states, navigating the ship.
“ Why not teach me how to navigate the ship, and then when we stop, you can go looking for better jobs instead of working to plot the next course,” Gunwook offered. Hanbin smirked; he knew that would help, but what about his role in the group? But Gunwook was right; he needed to step away from the plotting course and focus on jobs on which he could make more money.
“ Alright, I'll teach you how to plot a course and navigate; once we land, I'll look for our next job, Deal?” Hanbin spoke, handing the original course plan to Gunwook.
“ Deal,” Gunwook spoke with a smile. Finally, he has something to do rather than watch people work all the time.
Over the next week, Hanbin began to teach Gunwook about the ship's navigation. As well as how to pilot the ship to avoid space debris. Gunwook was grateful that he could just be a little less lonely.
-
The Ship had pulled into the port. Gunwook looked through the front window to see a flashing sign that read Welcome to Base One.
Gyuvin had been on his laptop to get the ship's mainframe up and working. So far, it's been a month and only weak progress. He was slowly getting frustrated with the bit of progression. The rest of them had tried to convince him to take a break, but it was just bothering him about why he couldn’t finish his repairs. But before he can go at it again, the laptop in front of him slams shut.
“ You have been looking at the screen for way too long, and you need to stop 'cause you're gonna drive yourself crazy,” Yujin spoke with his hand on the laptop.
“ If I don't finish, I will go crazy,” Gyuvin spoke, looking annoyed.
“ It will be the same as you left when we all return, " Yujin said. “Besides, I haven’t eaten, nor have you, and Hanbin is paying,”
“ Well, who can turn down free food?” Gyuvin spoke, getting up from his seat. He turned around to see Gunwook standing at the door frame.
“ Guess who successfully landed and navigated the ship,” Gunwook spoke with a device smile.
“That's so cool; I didn’t know you knew how to do that,” Gyuvin spoke,
“ Hanbin taught me over the week,” Gunwook said dreamily. “Maybe one day I can be a full-time navigator,”
“Congrats, now can we all just go eat?” Yujin whined. The other boys had left the small electrical room to find Hanbin on the loading bay looking at a small hand-held thin glass device. Hanbin is looking at available gigs, but nothing satisfies his demands. Then he sees a message from an old friend, putting a smile on his face. The same person was the reason why they came to this place. Hanbin quickly put the device in his pockets and smiled at the three boys approaching him.
“ You guys are ready to eat,” Hanbin said. All of them nodded while Yujin was rubbing his belly. Hanbin snickered at the youngest action.
“ There is a place an old friend recommended this.” Hanbin spoke as the boys got off the ship and onto the port bay.
“What is the place called?” Gyuvin asked
“It’s called In Bloom,” Hanbin said, walking toward the restaurant's direction.
-
INSIDE THE IN BLOOM
The inside of the place was loud and Chaotic. The waiter and bartenders were scrambling.
If you asked Jiwoong why he was here, it would be so that he could earn some credits. The only thing on his mind was the job at hand. Jiwoong sat in a corner booth facing toward the exits and was monitoring every individual in the place. He was keeping track of who had entered and exited. He was busy looking at his surroundings but failed to notice a blonde lanky waiter walking toward his table.
“ Would you like another drink, sir?” The waiter spoke. Jiwoong read the metal-plated name tag on the waiter; it read Ricky. Jiwoong never really looked at the waiter and made sure that his face was the last thing he could be remembered by.
“ Just another beer,” Jiwoong placed an empty cup before the waiter.
The waiter didn’t get a good look at the stranger's face but grabbed the cup and walked away to compile the request. Ricky hated this place, the one he was bound to for his life. He wiTheyd to see the stars be like those who told stories about those heists and flirtatious escapades in the bar. But, this place was far from the stories that the patrons came and talked about.
“ Hey Kid! Can you get another round for this lovely Lady and me,” A grimy old man spoke with a beautiful young woman sitting on his lap.
The women seem to be a drunk and giggling mess. The only thing keeping her from falling on the floor was the arm of the old man. This is the worst part of the job.
“ I can get you a round, but the lady, not so much,” Ricky said with a capitalistic smile, getting the new glass for the previous person he was tabling. The old man began to complain, but Ricky had already tuned the man out, busy working on the other gentleman's beer order. Once the glass was filled with the forty beverages, Ricky returned to the table and placed it before returning to work behind the bar.
Jiwoong grabs the glass and takes a sip, and then the In Bloom doorbell above the entrance rang. Jiwoong spotted four men enter as a group. Jiwoong had made eye contact with one of the people in the group and looked back with the same distant gaze. The group had secured a table and had barely paid attention to Jiwoong.
Jiwoong noticed that one had checked his phone and headed to the bar, presumably for a drink. But, the waiter who had handed him the beer was too busy cleaning the glass. Jiwoong did not want to be distracted by the exciting interaction, so he focused on the door and opened his ear to ensure he found his target.
-
An hour had passed since Hanbin Crew had arrived at the tavern. Gunwook, Gyuvin, and Yujin were in their 3rd glass of water, and Hanbin's gaze was still at the door. He occasionally looked at his phone, waiting for his friends to arrive; just as Hanbin's eyes left the door again to check his phone, the bell above the door jingled, and two people walked in.
Both were around the same height, smiling from ear to ear. The others held their heads down and were careful. Hanbin spotted his friend and waved them to the table.
“ Matthew! Over here!” Hanbin motion. The Smiling one grabbed the other arm and dragged them toward the table.
“Hey bro, what’s up?” The smiling one, Matthew, said, walking up to Hanbin with his cautious partner beside him. Hanbin stands and outstretched his arm, and Matthew walks straight into Hanbin's arms. The other three boys look at newcomers with curiosity and hesitantly.
“ Who is the sad duckling you brought with you?” Hanbin said, noticing the figure on Matthew's right-hand side.
“ A friend from college… He needs help, and you have a ship,” Matthew said, smiling beside Hanbin. The stranger held out his hand toward Hanbin. Hanbin looked at his face and noticed that the man wore round glasses and looked more sophisticated than Matthew.
The stranger introduced himself, “ Hi, I’m Taerae.”
He quickly sat down at the next available seat to not draw too much attention to himself. However, one person at the back of the tavern was paying keen attention to Taerae.
“ Matthew, I can’t afford another mouth to feed,” Hanbin said, shaking his head and sitting back in his seat.
“ What if I said I can get you and everyone on your ship jobs without working for the Intergalactic Council,” Matthew said in a hushed tone.
“I would say that statistically it's nearly impossible,” Gyuvin said, knowing very well that the Intergalactic Council had effectively made it impossible to find high-paying jobs unless you come from royalty.
“ The only way you could do that is illegal trade, which is asking for a death wish,” Hanbin spoke carefully. It was a bad idea that they were discussing going against the Intergalactic Council in such a public setting. But Hanbin knew that if anyone reported them, then it would be the death of his dream.
“ I can get us the job of hunting down rare artifacts, and all we have to do is collect and deliver the items,” Matthew spoke with wonder in his eyes. “ These jobs are higher paying than the jobs you guys have, and if there is an injury, Taerae can patch you guys right up.”
Hanbin was contemplating; the offer was good, and it would be enough to pay off his debts and feed the crew. But, it would mean that if caught, they would have a bounty on their head.
“ Fine but we need people to help out with other aspects of these missions. You and I both know that we need at least three more people, someone to help train us with basic skill of defense, someone with charm to help with distraction, and someone who can get us into hard places.” Hanbin spoke using his finger to emphasize the importance
Matthew just smirked and responded “ We can find those types of people along the way.”
Jiwoong was focused on that name for the past couple of days. He slowly got up from the table and left some credits on the table. He wipes out a high-tech Lazblade, aims at Taerae's neck, and announces himself to the group of boys.
“Kim Taerae, This can go either way. I can kill you right now, or we can leave peacefully and not cause a scene,”
The rest of the table quickly stood up, backing away from Jiwoong's weapon. Hanbin had widened and was the first to put his hand in the air to face the unspoken attacker.
“Hey, I'm sure Taerae here didn’t do anything wrong,” Hanbin said, alleviating the situation with a slight tremble. However, Jiwoong ignored Hanbin and waited for his target to move. At this point, Ricky had seen the blade in the bounty hunter's hand. Ricky made his way toward the group that was causing a seen
“ What is going on here?” Ricky spoke in an irritated tone. Jiwoong had managed to look at the waiter who had served him earlier. “ Just some bounty I am here to collect,” Jiwoong spoke calmly, his eyes trained on the back of Taerae's head. Hanbin widened even further; his friend never informed him of the bounty on the guest. Matthew had lowered his head, avoiding Hanbin's gaze.
“ Look, I didn’t do anything wrong,” Taerae finally said and slowly stood up. “ You might have the wrong guy.”
Hanbin watched the whole ordeal and was stunned, unable to do anything. He looks at the blonde/white-haired waiter with hints of prayers in his eye. He was practically begging Ricky to kick the bounty hunter out. Ricky knew if he kicked out the bounty hunter, the situation would continue outside, potentially damaging the tavern's reputation and causing him to lose his job. But, if he allows the bounty hunter to continue, fewer people will start coming, and he will lose his job. “ Okay, Look, either way here, I will lose my job, so why don't we just calm down,” Ricky spoke with a sense of calm and compulsion. This causes Jiwoong to move his gaze from his target to the waiter.
“ This doesn’t concern you,” Jiwoong spoke to Ricky. Gunwook took the opportunity to make a move toward Jiwoong. Gunwook knocks the weapon out of Jiwoong's hand, and it clatters to the ground.
“He said you have the wrong person,” Gunwook spoke, trying to be more intimidating. Jiwoong quickly went to grab his weapon and aimed towards Gunwook's neck. Hanbin is quick to make sure Taerae stays behind him.
“ Okay, Sir, Please put the Blade away,” Ricky exclaimed, losing his patience. Gunwook and Jiwoong enthralled the other part of the Tavern. This causes the outside onlooker to chant, “Fight! Fight!”
“ Look, Kid, This is just a part of my job, and I could kill you instantly, " Jiwoong said with a frustrated tone. “ So let me take him, and I will be out of your hair.”
“Yeah, Then do it,” Gunwook yelled in Jiwoong's face. Jiwoong chuckled at Gunwook. This was hilarious to Jiwoong. Did Gunwook have no common sense to never mess with a bounty hunter and his payday? Gunwook had noticed the
“ Okay, Gunwook, Let's not make threats to a man with a blade to your neck!” Gyuvin spoke. Ricky approaches Jiwoong and Gunwook and places his hand on their shoulder.
“ You should listen to your friend,” Jiwoong said, smirking and tauntingly.
Ricky is slowly pushing Jiwoong and Gunwook apart and is the only one actively trying to defuse the situation. Jiwoong put his blade away, turned his body toward Taerae, and started to walk toward him. However, he is turned around by a strong pull and struck in the face by Gunwook. Jiwoong was pissed and decided to punch back harder. Ricky tries his best to stop the brawl but is pushed to the ground by Jiwoong and Gunwook. The people around the pair start cheering and enticing both of them. Hanbin starts to stress and tries to help stop Gunwook from creating a bigger scene, but to no avail. Jiwoong throws a couple of punches toward Gunwook and tries to subdue the giant bo; however; Gunwook manages to dodge them. As the fight grew longer Jiwoong began to learn Gunwook’s moves and landed a successful punch straight into the boy's stomach. The crowd became louder with every punch and dodge between them. Matthew and Taerae were both trying to escape through the crowd but to no avail, and they were still in sight of the bounty hunter.
“ ENOUGH!!!!” A towering man with a larger build and a deep, booming voice shouts, causing the crowd to disperse and the fight to end. Ricky knew that now he might get an earful. At that moment, Jiwoong and Gunwook stopped throwing punches and were out of breath. The larger man made his way toward the group. Once there, he grabbed Gunwook and Jiwoong both by the collar and guided them to the door. Hanbin was the first to exit after the pair, followed by the rest of the crew. Ricky had stayed in place, hoping his boss would let this fight slide.
“ Ricky, I expect you to leave your apron on the bar stand in the next few minutes.” The owner of the bar spoke
“ I didn’t even start it this time,” Ricky pleaded with his boss. “ Look, I need money. At least wait til the end of my shift to fire me.”
“ This was the 3rd fight you have been involved in this week,” the owner said, towering over Ricky. “You knew the risk of not letting me handle the roughhousing.”
Ricky dejectedly removed his apron and placed it on the counter before walking to the back to grab his things. Now, he was out of a job and needed to find a new one quickly. -
OUTSIDE THE IN BLOOM
Gunwook was still breathing heavily, while Jiwoong looked unbothered. Gunwook was still annoyed because he nearly lost and probably would walk away from this fight with a couple of bruises. But Jiwoong was the complete opposite, he looked unscathed and more annoyed that he was still there. Jiwoong scanned Gunwook from head to toe; he recognized the protectiveness in his fighting style. Jiwoong saw his younger self within the younger boy.
“ You're a good fighter I give you that,” Jiwoong praised Gunwook “ But, I have to do my job kid and I know he is your friend but, if i don’t bring him in he will have the mark of death…”
Gunwook knew all too well what the mark of death meant but, he also knew that he didn't need to lose anyone else. Jiwoong watches the younger boy's facial expression change form a face of stoic to sadness then back.
“...and the next person to try and grab him won't leave you alive next time,” Jiwoong said, trying to scare him.
The entire group had finally all made their way outside with Matthew and Taerae by the time Jiwoong spoke. Hanbin, Yujin, Matthew, and Taerae were still in a bit of a shock at how quickly the fight escalated. Gyuvin was more focused on the fact that he hadn't seen Gunwook start a fight since they were kids, Gunwook was a fighter but he mainly waited for the opponent to strike first. So, to Gyuvin and Yujin they knew Gunwook was fighting about a simple bounty but something more puzzling. They all started at the bounty hunter and the ship's new navigator waited for the tension to break. It shocked the group when Taerae broke
“ Have you ever asked what my crime was?” Taerae spoke directly to Jiwoong.
“ I don’t need to know,” Jiwoong said, attempting to grab Taerae’s wrist to cuff him. But Gunwook shoved Jiwoong's hands away causing the bounty hunter to drop the cuff to the ground. Jiwoong stood in disbelief as he see the groups that was with his target slowly try and form a human shield around Taerae
“ You really want to protect someone you just meet that bad” Jiwoong spoke to the group.
“ I saved someone's life,” Taerae spoke so everyone around him could hear. But Taerae’s gaze was fixed on Jiwoong. “ However, according to the Intergalactic Council rules, the person I saved was a waste of resources and technology, ”
Jiwoong hesitated in picking the cuffs off the ground. He makes direct eye contact with the medic for the first time. Jiwoong knew the medic was wrong but these benefactors controlled the system and he had to follow the system. “ You really want to roam the universe with the mark of death, put all these people you just meet in danger,”
Taerae takes a step in front of the human shield that was made out of people he might be his safety for the rest of his life.
“Yes, even if it means I have to die to help people I swore to protect, the benefactor will never rule how I practice my medicine… just like they don't control your emotion,” Taerae spoke, offering a single handshake as a peace offering.
Jiwoong knew that if he did this they would tell him that he could no longer be a bounty hunter. He let too many people on his list go and never gave word back to the IGPF that they needed to be marked for death. Afterall, Jiwoong was human; he had feelings and empathy toward those people trying to make life less cruel. Letting one more person go they might start going for his head. Jiwoong needed a plan fast and he knew all about the research plan made he could join them and teach them how to protect themselves
“ Frist, I need an assurance, if I let you go they come after me for not completing another job and I don't think either of us want to die, yet” Jiwoong spoke with a sense of confidence in his voice “ Lets make deal, I come a long on your little adventure and give you all the protection you clear need and I can teach skill that can help you on your task acquiring artifact for the researcher,”
The rest of the group's eyes widened, including Matthew. The researcher believed that no one had heard his proposal to his old friend. They thought they were discussing pretty quietly. Jiwoong stifled a laugh at the group face because most people would never know that a bounty hunter had such keen observation skill.
Hanbin spoke first “ We have a deal, but I need to make it clear that you can never ever inform the IGPF about this” Jiwoong responds with a simple nod and proceeds to shake taerae hand.
That is when the door to the In Bloom opened again and they noticed the waiter that had been serving them earlier exit with a defeated look on his face. Ricky noticed the two parties he had just tried to separate from fighting shaking hands. It just had to be his luck. They resolved it outside and now he was out of a job.
Ricky was pissed. “ I told you both this could be resolved with a simple conversation outside and now since you decide to have a fight inside I am out of job” That's when Ricky remembered the research of this group remark before the whole ordeal.
“ You know what if you don't want me to report this little deal to IGPF which would cause the doc to receive a mark of death and the rest on a run give me job on your ship,” Ricky spoke in such a calm was that Hanbin was still slowly processing that what the man had just said was a threat.
“ Are you serious?” Gyuvin said in disbelief that another person heard them speak, maybe that wasn't so discert after all.
“Serious as ever and aren't bounty hunters, the first rule is never make deals in the open” Ricky says gazing at the bounty hunter. Jiwoong also realized how stupid he could be.
Hanbin rolled his eyes before speaking sarcastically “ Anyone else want to join along?”
Ricky didn't respond, instead he walked toward the group with a hand out and in the palm of his hand was the keys to the Hanbin ship. Hanbin was flabbergasted at this kid's action.
“ You should be more focused on your surrounding and make sure you have everything before you leave” Ricky speak and shake Hanbins hand to make sure the deal is secure.
Hanbin then realized that Matthew was kinda of right they would find the type of people they need on the way.
