ZB1 is a project group formed by the huge MNET survival show Boys Planet in 2023, and have a two and a half year long contract. They have nine members: Hanbin, Zhang Hao, Matthew, Ricky, Tae Rae, Gyuvin, Yujin, Jiwoong, and Gunwook.

Here are my credentials: As is becoming a theme in these reviews, I know more “around” ZB1 than actually about them. I’ve heard bits and pieces of their singles, seen a performance or two on stage, and I’ve seen Jiwoong in the BL Roommates of Poongduck 304, which impressed me since it’s rare enough to see an idol do a BL and rarer still one that has an actual kiss. Otherwise, I don’t know much, and I’m looking forward to knowing more.

my thoughts on the comeback- you had me at HELLO, 3rd Mini album: ♡

first of all, this was my first comeback with zerobaseone as a zerose so it is really meaningful for me. it's been YEARS since i was this excited for a comeback🤍

the album exceeded my expectations overall and im really really happy.

happy for 2 reasons: 2 hours before the comeback, my high school result came out and i score 91% which is a big thing for me considering i gave my exams all laid back and without putting in efforts. the result came out very unexpectedly and i had to be at school for interviews and all that nonsense😭

basically i couldn't watch the comeback LIVE. and im SO MAD ABOUT IT. i did watch a snippet of the mv while it was being live streamed.

but i had to wait for about 3 hours to finally be able to listen to feel the pop🥹 as soon as i went with my friends to the restaurant in order to celebrate our good result, i listened to solar power AND I WANTED TO SCREAM DAMN. i needed time to process it so i didn't listen to dear eclipse then and there itself.

once i reached home, i FINALLY got to listen to the entire album and as expected dear eclipse blew my mind- my boys have such a wonderful taste. also it reminded me of wayv bsides?😭 like idk SOMETHING ABOUT IT???

anyways, while trying to listen to sunday ride, i was so irritated because my relatives kept CALLING ME CONTINUOUSLY to ask for my result and plus factor- i forgot my laptop at my mother's place so i had to use an old windows 7 laptop to stream the music video so it kept lagging😭

truthfully, i have still not watched the music video carefully because there's a lot going on and im busy streaming the music video through my laptop and the album on my phone.

after listening to the albums for a lot of time, this is my personal ranking:

im not going to rank sweat for the time being because i need to listen to the rest of the album as many times i have listened to sweat in order to put sweat somewhere in this ranking.

im not at ALL surprised with the vocal game of zb1 because as expected its P E R F E C T.

im just disappointed with the melody of hello slightly?😭 tbh i was expecting for it to be like good night, even from the medley but it was far from it.

i havent gone through the lyrics yet, so this one is simply based off of its melody and tune.

good night is my favorite song by zb1 so maybe my standard was a little tooo high?

on to the next thing- i woke up to 2 things: ricky black hair AND a speculation that my result would be out in a few minutes so basically, i was shivering from fear while going gaga over ricky.

now i know ricky is forced to do it which makes it sad, like obviously ricky looks SO GORGEOUS but knowing that he had to do it because w1 forced him to, BREAKS MY HEART.

and the minnamz treatment in this comeback is so disappointing. i don't know what to do. i feel helpless in moments like these. like WHY WAKEONE?????

also, gyuvin. my baby bambi.

i sincerely hope he gets well fast🤍 he prepared so much with the boys, to show us everything.

when it comes to the foreign lands, jype might fabricate the sales in the albums. the company will try to promote itzy in the western market (like usual, i believe), but it might not work out, therefore the fabrications (whether they'll be about the album sales or not) might be more seen.

jaehyun wants you to know that how he sees him as a person differs from what he thinks about hanbin in career-related .. stuff a lot.

the difference is very visible as in the industry, jaehyun sees hanbin as competition. it looks like there were offers in the past that were made to jaehyun where sme denied them. jaehyun wanted to accept all of them but sme didn't. the offers in question were made to hanbin instead and wakeone accepted them. therefore jaehyun feels very jelaous and envious that hanbin has (to him) great relationship with his group company while jaehyun hasn't. jaehyun's relationship with sme interferes a lot in how he sees sung hanbin simply because of his insecurities.

however he knows how hanbin is as a person and jaehyun likes how emotionally balnced hanbin is (and mature). they might've talked about jaehyun's worries in that matter and are fine with each other.

as i've seen he is also interested in acting in the past, he has to be more organised than he is currently and only then trying to make time and release more music on his own. he is focused on 2 fields as of now (for himself) - acting and songwriting (again, he practices this fields on his own). apart from them and txt, he does not have that much time to work on creating the songs fully on his own, so in the future yes but currently it is a no.

hao thinks that the acting industry involved teamwork, something he's good at and also impacts a lot in many ways possible. however he doesn't want to try it currently mainly because he's solely focusing on being member of zb1. hao doesn't think he'd like to try it in the near future but isn't closing the door for that. he knows he'll be good and nail it, just.. not now

if there's something odd regarding babymonster's image, is there a facade or yge is hiding something?

when it comes to babymonster's group image, it seems to be related to the "yg vibe". honestly, the concept babymonster suits the best doesn't suit that much the usual concept yge is providing to all of their groups. although the company aims somehow to the younger audience with babymonster, babymonster actually suit the most the original "yg vibe" they started to provide with their 2nd generation groups: bigbang and 2ne1, even with the 1st generation ones with .. 1tym (teddy was there) and swi.t. yge should learn that they can make their "yg" aura age-appropiate if there's an actual will.

how successful will be i'll-it's comeback?

honestly, i don't sense much with the spread (it's very indifferent energy here, to be honest), but the world hints a bit that they'll do way better outside of korea.

in a case where zb1 disbands, as i see hao being extremely attached to the group, he might redebut in a duo with ricky (cards with similar meanings and vibe as the hanged man is frequent with ricky in the near future) in china. he doesn't want to think about a future without zb1, so he'll be fine with this option if zb1 disbands in the end as it'll remind him of zb1 the most in that way

will yeonjun's other songs sound different?

yes, they'll sound different. they might be more emotional, sensual and etc. synonyms so the genre and lyrics will differ a lot from ggum.
