Mount Zas on Naxos is the highest peak in the Cyclades region with an elevation of 1.003 meters. The Cave of Zas located at an altitude of 630 meters was first explored in 1962. Artifacts were found, which date to the Neolithic, the Classical and Roman eras, and are on display at the Naxos Archaeological Museum. Mount Zas is also ideal for trekking through scenic routes.
