Yyventriz, Kell of Shards
Tumblr media
A mere Hatchling when Riis fell, Yyventriz’s adoptive father, Brailiks, found her in the rubble of a nearby home crying for her mothers. Presuming them dead in the Whirlwind, Brailiks took her with him and joined his house, the House of Weavers. From there, she was raised with her father’s crew, the Razor Winds, under the noble-spirited captain, Ivrhakis. Under their tutelage, she learned the value of leadership and the meaning of Honor.
Now, after the fall of House Salvation and the continued fracturing of House Dusk, Yyventriz has built herself a House of remnants, shattered pieces from the once proud Eliksni Houses. They are the House of Shards, the last few who really remember the old ways but know better than to cling to them.
Though House Shard opens its doors to all, though Yyventriz still bears grudges against lightbearers. Time will tell whether she will keep to her grudges like her former Kell, Eramis, or choose a new path like the Light Kell, Mithrax.

aurea-fide:
Patch made a noise in agreement to her method, and shifts enough to stay close by to listen to the words Jorvek rasps. He shifts to rest his small shell on yyventriz shoulder and watches Jorvek rasp out a breath and shudder.
Jorvek shudders a raspy noise and he jolts at the material falling on his shoulders. It’s enough to stall his looping mind and his hand raises to grip and touch the cloak. This wasn’t, his cloak. This wasn’t - he sucks in a breath and he blinks open his eyes. It takes a long moment before his eyes clear and he shifts them to glance ahead. Its another moment before he mutters a word, a raspy sound before muttering ”Yyve-?”
His claws grip onto her cloak and he breathes in the scent again. That was very much yyventriz. But why was she here? Wait, was that –? He grunts blinking a few times. “Wher–?” He rasps.
Yyventriz waited with baited breath as Jorvek shifted and muttered, conscious of the ghost now resting on her shoulder. Would it work? Would it bring her whirlwind-baron back to her? She shuddered to think what might happen if this didn’t work...
Still, she watched as he blinked and smiled through her mask. He could see her! He could see her through his memories! “Yes, it’s me,” she said gently, reaching to stroke his cheek. “It’s alright. You’re alright.”
The kell shuffled forward, a little difficult considering her size, but enough to kneel beside her mate. “We’re home in the Cosmodrome with our Houses, Shard and Onyx. “You’re safe...”

"First impressions are often wrong." — @theendiswherewebegin
( pick a muse of your choice! (。・∀・)ノ゙)
Tumblr media
Yyventriz gazed at the human female, her four ether-blue eyes narrowing to glowing slits. Deep purple blood seeped from beneath her fingers, staining the midsection of her torn, armored flight suit. Not for the first time, he found herself grateful to have four arms instead of two. She pressed another hand to her wound and gave the woman a measuring look.
She'd been wounded in the crash of her pike in escaping a band of speeder bandits, or rather in her pursuit of them. They had attacked her skiff during a resupply run near an oasis, and she and a few others mounted up to retaliate. Eliskni did not take kindly to harassment from crews of their own kind, let alone crews of foreigners.
Yet here she was now, lying against the shaded wall of a human settlement, hidden from further view by supply containers to ships nearby. She didn't expect to be found before she could bind her wounds, not by a human anyway. Still...
“Depends on the first impression," Yyventriz replied, her voice modulated behind her ether mask. "Humans have not had a grand first impression on me... yet you defy those expectations by approaching me."
She paused and considered the woman again before inclining her head. "If you have aid to render, I will accept it. If you are willing to render it, that is."

//So During these Eliksni brain hours, I have decided I'm probably gonna be revamping Salem's past with the Eliksni and where the House of Shards might set up camp.
//Nothing's set in stone but I do think that the House of Shards might actually try to barter or make a deal with Failsafe through Salem and Young Wolf, that if they help repair Failsafe, defend her from Vex and other threats, and they will be allowed to live in her ruined decks.
//Idk if Failsafe would let them become her new "crew" but I can see Yyventriz trying.

//Thinking about my gal Yyventriz tonight and what kind of impact she might have if House Shard, her reportedly “neutral” House, takes residence in the Devil’s old lair? What relations might she have with NewLight guide Shaw Han?
//Or if she felt the Last City was too close and the threat if Guardians too high, what would they do if she tried to take up residence in the Exodus Black? Not forcefully but actually negotiating with Failsafe as the “human servitor”, offering her house as crew to rebuild the Exodus Black as best as Eliksni can manage. What would happen? She’d need to negotiate with YW to be sure, but what would the guardians do if Failsafe agreed? If House Shard became tentative Allie’s through Failsafe?
//Just thoughts I’m having at work tonight.

Yyventriz fixed her eyes on the old kell. In her experience, older Eliksni tended to either force their will on others through presence, leverage, beat them into submission, or kill them. Now it was just a matter of which she had to react to. Pirriks reputation did precede him, and whatever he had in store, she wasn't going to take it lying down. However, it seemed his daughter had other plans and a fortunately calming effect on her father.
The Shard kell's posture relaxed somewhat as he considered her offer. She gave a hum and shook her head. "I offer his services, not him," she clarified, motioning for Salem to step forward. "If you are willing, I would offer a sample of his healing ability. His healing rifts are well controlled and can soothe even the deepest wounds. Choose one of your wounded or discomforted and he will heal them. Consider it a sign of good faith."
The guardian swallowed as he stepped forward, gazing up at Pirriks as a man at a hangman's noose. A diver in a pool of sharks without a cage could not have felt more terror and apprehension as he did standing in the midst of these powerful Eliksni.
mantleoflight:
Yyventriz narrowed her eyes, standing a little taller as she tried not to bristle at the “offer”. She noted the kell’s condition and flicked her eyes at the captains that accompanied him.
“I am no baron seeking to join a faction,” she stated firmly. “To join you would be to surrender Kellship over my house, to yield all that I have built in the short time I have had it. No, I believe an alliance or at least trade between our houses would be more beneficial.”
She was not young per se, hardly out of her first molt when the Whirlwind came, and barely a dreg when they found Earth. Yet she was younger than many, or perhaps simply undersized… Still, she wasn’t about to give up the treasures of her house for the asking. But… if she could assure him of a beneficial alliance…
The smaller kell folded her primary arms, gazing up at the other, firm determination of youth fixed in her eyes. “I am Yyventrize, Phantom of House Wolves, my word is my bond. If I enter an alliance, I will remain until the terms of the alliance are broken.”
She paused and turned to Salem. “As a token of my good will, I would offer a service from my warlock. He is uniquely gifted in healing and has worked wonders amongst my house.”
Salem swallowed. He didn’t know if this was a bribe or a test, but whatever it was, he didn’t like being in the middle of it.
Pirriks huffs, rolling his eyes, and mimics her posture, though it’s hidden under the fabric. He remembers this kind of spark, the righteousness of it all, the pride, the determination… A long time ago, he wasn’t so much different. But all he has left of it is his pride, which now gets in the way more often than not.
Is he willing to make an exception this time, instead of killing the Kell on the spot, letting whoever remains join, or be killed, too?
Ephrik presses her hand against his back, as if she can hear his thoughts, which brings him to the present moment. He sighs, rubbing at his face. Maybe, just maybe, it is not going to bite him in the ass later on. Plus, it’s not like his House can really pick and choose at the moment.
“So, you are just like, your mother…” The Kell finally rasps, giving her an odd glance. “Very well, then. I am willing to bend, my rules.” He turns his head to the members of his House and each of them look away when his gaze falls on them. “Do you, want to trade someone, for him? Or is it… just a one time offer?”

Trespassing || Open Starter
Arc energy hummed as the Eliksni energy shields barred the tunnel at both ends, the white-cloaked kell glaring at the guardian caught between them. These barriers had been effective at keeping guardians at bay in certain locations, but you never knew with light bearers.
Yyventriz paced along the perimeter of the shield, her armor displaying her house's colors of white and red - the angled mosaic on her cape displaying the emblem of House Shard.
"Do your kind not honor their word?" She growled, her voice rumbling behind her mask. "We agreed not to impede the rising of you 'new lights', yet still you scrabble into our home like rats. What do you want, Light bearer? Why do you intrude here?"

Crumple -Peixe
Yyventriz knees buckled beneath her, forcing her to use her secondaries to keep her at least somewhat upright. Purple blood seeped from the wounds lashed into her sides but she kept her primary claws up, stasis crystals building on her shaking claws. Stasis was her weapon, a tool just as efficient as any guardian's piercing Light.
Her breaths rattled as she took in a breath of Ether. The wound was deep and she was tired but Salvation defector or not, she wasn't going to fall to this guardian and wasn't going to let them take what she had taken from Praxis' work at the Bray labs.
She gave a growl and lifted herself to one knee. "I will not yield it to you," she growled, holding the servitor memory bank under her arm. "It is Eliksni. It belongs to the eliksni! Not humans or the light-bearing machine spawn they bring forth."
There was venom in her statement, venom made from years of hurt and betrayal... years serving under a kell who was either no longer there... or no longer served her people.

//I also maaaaay or may not be thinking about my characters meeting different SW characters and what might happen if they did
//Like, Kel & Cypher being picked up by Imps and Cypher having to quickly learn how to speak Galactic Basic to keep herself and Kel alive; - Echo coming to learn about the Jedi in hopes of it helping her develop her own powers in the Light and maybe find a way home; - Yyventriz coming to establish her own New Riis for her people, the House of Shards, and having to overcome the culture shock of going from the Great Drift, to the wars in Sol, to the abundance and prosperity found in the Known Galaxy.
//There is so, so much possibility in this kind of a crossover that I'm just buzzing with it!

“Let’s start simple. What’s your favorite color?” (to.... heck you pick a muse lmao)
Yyventriz narrowed her eyes at the exo. Even in this political arrangement between Shard and Braytech, the young kell is not thrilled with the arrangements. Still, safety and resources in exchange for shared rulership of her house within Braytech and the skills of her splicers, was better than being trapped in the artic tundra between Guardians and House Salvation.
Taking a deep breath from her rebreather, Yyventriz glanced over at the shine of light against the walls. It reminds her of a polished servitor, the shine of the glass of their core eyes. She considered the shine and lifts her chin.
"White," she answered at last, "as snow fresh laid upon the ground, unsullied by boots or bullets." The captain-sized eliksni looked over at Clovis, her glowing blue eyes fixed on him. "What is yours?"

unlikelyandco:
Nemo smiled at him, happy to put a face to the Lightbearer, the white stripes of the Awoken marks swaying lightly under her skin with a shimmer. If he would look real close, there were black freckles scattered within them, something quite odd for an Awoken.
Sleeping sickness? Nemo raised an eyebrow but decided to not dig for an explanation much at the moment. Though, she was curious what the Fallen had to do with such a thing. And what was it at all?
“Look, I’m not gonna force you to leave, but maybe you could come out to the City with me from time to time. Ikora would like to talk to you about all this and even if you decide to stay… maybe you could be a link between your Kell and the Vanguard.”
She chuckled quietly, shaking her head. Those two were an interesting match, and the Ghost reminded her of one of her friend’s.
“As your Ghost said, we do try to stick together so whatever problem you might have that keeps you here… we could probably figure something out with Ikora. She’s a really smart woman and a Warlock, like you.”
The warlock listened intently, tapping a gloved hand his chin as he thought. “A link between the Guardians and the House of Shards,” he mused, considering the idea. “Y’know, that could be useful.”
“Yeah, except Yyventriz doesn’t like guardians,” Chance reminded him, hovering by his ear.
Salem winced and gave a nod. “Yeahh, she ‘n’ her house don’t like Guardians much. Don’t like anybody much ‘cept other Eliksni. They only tolerate me ‘cause I help with the, uh, well I help around.”
“And by ‘help around’ he means heal their injuries,” Chauncey chimed in, bobbing forward. “Not gonna lie, it’s actually really impressive. I’ve never seen someone control a healing well like he does. I mean, normally it’s just a pool you stand in right? But with him, he can laser focus it! Saved a Shard’s captain once—which is uh, probably one of the big reasons they keep us around.”
“Huh! Wow, Chance, I think that’s the nicest thing yeh’ve said about me!” Salem said and stroked his chin again. “Still, I don’t think it’d hurt teh ask. I mean, if Yyventrizkel gave permission, we’d be able teh head inteh the city ‘n’ meet yer friend, Ikora, no problem.”
Chance gyrated and bobbed beside Salem. “She’s not just a friend, Salem! Ikora’s the head of all the warlocks in the Vanguard!” he enthused, drawing figure eights in air in his excitement before turning to the awoken guardian. “I’ve been trying to get him to meet her since he woke up. But it feels like everything and its dog has been trying to get in the way. Kidnappings, sleeping sickness—everything, almost!”
“Eh, yeah. It’s been pretty rough. Not the kind a’ beginnin’ yeh think fer a guardian. But yeah, we get permission ‘n’ we can come in.” Salem-217 ran a hand through his curly brown hair, as a thought occurred to him, causing him to look over at his new acquaintance.
“Speakin’ of guardians though,” he said, straightening up, “M’name’s Salem, Salem-217, ‘n’ this is my partner Chauncey.”
“Nice to meet you,” the ghost said and gave a bob like a little bow.
Salem gave a brief smile before turning back to their new companion. “So uh, with this whole link idea, yeh think yeh could let the Vanguard know they don’t gotta send folks after me?"

'Yyventriz, my love, it would seem things have changed. " Her mate stood at her wartable, watching the floating images with mild interest. He want talking about those though. He was talking about himself.
Yyventriz’s eyes were fixed on her charts, the holograms of various forces hovering over specific locations. The Awoken were on the move, the Guardians mobilized. But what worried her most were the hive forces mingling with those of House Salvation…
She couldn’t bear it. She couldn’t bear the thought of one house, even House Salvation, being kept under such abject slavery. She could bear the thought of her mother being kept… and punished… with such abject slavery.
The Shard kell moved a one of her hologram pieces. She still felt hurt and betrayed by what Eramis did, but she couldn’t stand by as they were all enslaved by her mistakes…
The sound of her name in her husband’s voice drew her halfway from her thoughts. She hesitated, shook her head and looked up. “Mm? What?” She asked now focusing on her mate, her whirlwind Baron. She blinked and canted her head. “Change? What change, my dearest heart?”
