my tag confession is that i’ve been here since bb17 but i never posted until bb19 and during bb19 i had some crackhead theories about matthew being furniture for a purpose though i rarely posted and all my jokes fell flat

this was initially an ask but i deleted it OOPS. Gyrix variation info under the cut...

there are four variations of gyrix called XONIN, APANS, COGNA, and YUWAV. theyre based on choleric, sanguine, melancholic, and phlegmatic respectively. the distinction between them is similar to say, elves/dwarves/humans which are all humanoid but still different from each other.

i wanted to mix things up with gyrixes by saying, they are very specialized to their environments, very much unlike humans

XONIN: Racel is a xonin. they are the rarest variety. their preferred environment is near active volcanic activity, as such they are very resistant to extreme heat and air pollution. (fireproof, babey!) volcanic minerals end up being incorporated into their exoskeletons, so they are GLITTERY! and very strong but very heavy. that and air pollution combine to make xonin the SMALLEST gyrixes overall.

APANS. Ayasi is an apans. because they live in the most moderate environments. (but theyre best at very high altitudes). they deal the most with other life forms so they are very nimble and have STINGERS which arent usually deadly but who knows.....

COGNA. Kopeo is a cogna. their preferred environment is underground. as such they are pretty pale, and its actually not uncommon for them to be blind (so their colonies dont usually bother with artificial lighting). they are the Worst at dealing with temperature variation..

YUWAV. Vicen is yuwav. they are the gyrixes that have developed gills and live aquatically, in arctic cold oceans. these motherfuckers have blood made of antifreeze. deep sea gigantism makes them the LARGEST variety. (ISOPOD HOURS) them and cogna can all echolocate.

by some genetic bullfuckery, it is NOT possible for the variations to hybridize via natural reproduction. but my dreams of a xonin/yuwav deep sea geothermal vent gyrix , might be possible via ectobiology...

gyrixes extreme adaptations let them dodge territorial conflicts with other aliens and each other because they’ll colonize places that no one else wants to. actually they sometimes colonize the same planets as each other, just different parts of the planet. their “colonies” work kinda like bees or ants, starting with a “founder.” a gyrixes last name is indicative of what colony theyre from.

on the one hand it’s good to know that other people go through this because i’ve honestly spent the past several weeks feeling like i’m losing my mind

but on the other hand i hate when posts like this wind up being really relatable because it means other people are as miserable as i currently feel and that’s something i wouldn’t wish on anyone :(

yep. i feel like this also ties into the wider tumblr leftist problem of excusing bigotry and generally regressive politics like antisemitism, homophobia, misogyny etc. to varying degrees so long as the person/people in question are “anti-imperialist” or claim to be so (which is just hilarious to me because even fucking lenin himself criticized this exact dynamic, if not necessarily wrt all of the specific groups i listed)

and then when you combine that with the “only people from x group are allowed to have opinions on or discuss this issue regardless of how uninformed/ignorant/bigoted they are” facet of identity politics on here it just becomes this massive echo chamber of terrible opinions

the most ridiculous part is that somebody has already been caught… last week… in the same building…and they still did it

i don’t know if they know about the neighbors being caught but i’m still reeling over the fact that anybody thought this was going to work in the first place or that it was worth risking eviction over

and granted, after living with them for 4 months i’ve heard enough of their conversations to confirm that none of them are particularly intelligent but this was pretty dumb even for them
