29: THE SLEEPOVER.
YUUTA X READER
──────────────
Today is the day.
Saturday! Which also means the sleepover.
But as of right now, it's 11am in the morning, you scrolling through your phone as you hear commotion outside your dorm.
Apparently Nobara told Maki and yourself to stay inside your dorms but didn't give a reason why, I think you found out the reason now.
You got off your bed and decided to peak out to see what's happening and was greeted with other students outside while Nobara, blinded by her own groceries, trying to find the way towards her dorm.
"..Do you need help or..?" You asked the girl as she slowly passed by.
When her ears caught the sound of your voice, her head whipped in your direction as she ordered you to get back inside.
And that you did.
──────────────
It's now 1pm, still inside your dorm, you got a notification from the group chat:
inumaki: when are we suppose to meet up.
maki: when can I leave my room.
you: SAME
yuuta: leave your room?
maki: she made us stay inside.
inumaki: ew does that mean you haven't showered🤢
you: I did earlier no one stinks here besides yourself.
maki: yeah what she said
inumaki: yuuta are you seeing this.
yuuta: yeah
inumaki: do something😞😞
yuuta: no thanks bye.
inumaki: WHAT
nobara: STOP.SPWAKONG
maki: does no one here speak english?
inumaki: WHEN DO WE MEET UP.
nobara: AT 6PM SHUTUP.
inumaki: okay!
you: dang..
──────────────
Time passed by slowly but finally, it was almost 6pm so you decided to start packing.
You packed the normal things you need for a sleepover and an extra, the plushie Yuuta bought you!
You changed your clothes into your pj's and wore your very nice sleeping slippers.
And finally, you left your room and began walking towards Nobara's.
You knocked on her door and waited outside.
You heard shuffling inside and finally she opened the door.
"Y/n? Why are you here so early it's only 5:59.." She mumbled.
"My bad..?"
She shrugged her shoulders as she let you inside, leaving you as she went back to do whatever she was doing.
Even though you haven't entered her dorm room before, you could notice that alot of things was shifted around, and built.
Before you could ask her about it, you noticed that her bin was filled, probably from all the groceries she brought.
"I'm gonna take out your trash if you don't mind." You brought up, she didn't move but gave you a thumbs up.
As you left and made your way to throw the trash bag away you found Inumaki.
"The sleepover is the other way, also why do you have a trash bag?" He asked you, following behind as you throw the bag away and began to walk back inside.
"Why are you even near the trash..?" You answered but with a question.
He just shrugged, but you also noticed that he has not one but two bags and one of the bags was a whole suitcase.
"Are you moving out your dorm? Why do you have so much."
"I brought my own entertainment... that is my PS5."
You blinked at him then just began speed walking leaving him to follow behind.
After randomly chatting, you both made it back to her room, the door opened before you could even knock.
"Oh you're back. Why is Inumaki with you I thought you took out trash?" Nobara asked as you both entered.
"He was hanging around the dumpster." You mumbled.
"Was not."
──────────────
Finally, everyone had arrived and Nobara happily brought you all into her odd blanket fort in the middle of the room.
"In here we are going to play games! Isn't that exciting!!?" She excitedly exclaimed.
"What kind of games..?" Megumi asked.
"Sleepover games duh."
After replying back to Megumi, she opened up her phone and then spoke up again.
"Okay, first game we play is Never have I ever! But with stuffing your face with marshmallows isn't that fun." She smiled.
Basically what she means is if you did whatever the other person said, you put a marshmello in your mouth like the chubby bunny game.
"The more marshmallows in your mouth, the less you can talk meaning you lose. Let's play!"
As soon as she finished spoke, Inumaki smacked the pillow that he was holding and spoke up:
"NEVER HAVE I EVER STOLE MY BEST FRIEND."
It was targeted at you. because he's literally staying right at you.
"First of all I stole no one, second of all he spoke to me first." You said, then finally placed the marshmallow in your mouth.
He began mocking you. You was about to throw your pillow at him until Megumi pulled you back.
"Never have I ever stole Leon merchandises."
"Ok. and for your information, I brought them here for you but I'm gonna keep them."
"WHAT?"
He pretended that he couldn't talk, pointing at the marshmallow in his mouth.
"..You still need to speak anyways.." You mumbled.
"Never have I ever hid in a bush, in public."
Inumaki stared at the boy for a bit then placed the marshmallow in his mouth.
"You hid in bushes..?" Yuji asked.
"We don't talk about that.NEVER HAVE I EVER STALKED PEOPLE ON A DATE."
Nobara let out a frustrated sigh.
"WHY ARE WE TARGETING EACH OTHER? LETS PLAY ANOTHER GAME."
──────────────
The other game was truth or dare, the classic one!
Nobara started this time.
"Maki, truth or dare?"
"Truth.."
"Okay! Do you like me?" Nobara asked, fluttering her eyelashes.
"Dare."
"THATS MEAN."
Maki smiled at her reaction then answered her.
"Yeah I like you, I like everyone."
Nobara just stared at her then rolled her eyes.
"Yuji, truth or dare?"
He smirked, then said dare.
Maki sighed.
"..I dare you to do a spin the bottle right now.." She mumbled.
"You dare him to what?" You asked but got ignored.
Yuji grabbed a bottle from behind him that you didn't even notice he had and placed it in the middle.
He began to spin the bottle and originally it landed on Megumi and Inumaki but before you could even ask what's about to happen now, Nobara quickly shifted the bottle to make it look like it landed on both you and Yuuta.
"What-"
"DANG, guess we have to put you and Yuuta in the bathroom for 7 minutes!"
"I thought we was playing truth or dare?" Yuuta asked.
"I thought we was playing spin the bottle?-"
"STOP THINKING AND GET IN THE ROOM"
"I thought it was Megumi and-"
Yuji shut you up as he dragged you into the storage room, Inumaki dragging Yuuta behind him as well.
You both didn't get any say in this as the door was shut and locked.
"What do we do now..?"
"I don't know.." Yuuta mumbled.
The silence hit until you both heard the sound of a movie starting.
"Are they watching a movie..?" You asked.
"..yes.."
──────────────
A short time passed and both you and Yuuta had decided to sit on the floor.
"Y/N.." Yuuta whispered.
You turned your head in his direction.
"Wanna hear a secret?" He asked.
You nodded.
He went silent for a bit, causing you to worry a bit.
"For a while now, I knew you liked me." He started up again.
"Oh.."
Out of all the secrets you wished to hear, that wasn't the one you wanted.
But before you could answer him, his shoulder pressed against yours.
"For a while now, even before we spoke to each other, I always looked around in school for you. I noticed that you only spoke to Megumi and Maki then I later found it's because you three are related. I also noticed that you always kept to yourself, Maki told me that's because you're a really shy person, she really wanted you to open up soon. I wanted to help but not in the way that I did when I found out that you had a "crush" on Yuji. I did it because I wanted to make you feel happy but I would've never known that you actually liked me back instead and not him."
Yuuta finished his small speech as he turned to face you, noticing the shocked look on your face.
"I'm just really happy that I found out you liked me back." He ended with a smile on his face.
He stared at the ring on his finger as he felt you leaning your head on his.
"I didn't know you liked me back.." You mumbled.
You both sat in silence, blushing as smiles grew on each other faces.
Right now, you felt the happiest, even if it's in a storage room with a broom next to you, as long as Yuuta is there you didn't really cared.
The moment was ruined though, by the sound of someone mimicking the sounds of throwing up.
You both failed to notice that the movie in the background stopped as shuffling was being heard.
Slowly, you both saw the storage door opened as Yuji, Inumaki and Nobara quickly tried to escape and made their way back into the blanket fort, trying to hide their giggles.

Hi! I noticed that you haven’t gotten any kiss prompt asks for Yuuta yet (as of the time I’m writing this) so can I ask number 67 for Yuuta?
YES you are the first to ask for yuuta <3 but there will be more to come !!
67: When One Stops The Kiss To Whisper “I’m Sorry, Are You Sure You-” And They Answer By Kissing Them More ___
you hadn't seen yuuta in ages.
three months two weeks and a day, to be exact. and if you'd thought about it, you could narrow that down to the hour, too.
he was doing important work overseas, and you couldn't be more happy for him. having been thrusted into the jujutsu society, he somehow managed to navigate it with ease, and you were certain he was a player in rewriting it, too. he was a special grade after all, he could do anything he pleased.
he'd worked hard to stake his place in a society he hadn't grown up in. and you'd been there every step of the way, since the day gojo had brought him to jujutsu tech, you'd been an ally to him.
it didn't take long for ally to turn friend, and then friend turned to... well, you weren't sure exactly. with him gone so much it was hard to have a real conversation about where it was you stood with each other. not long before he'd left, there'd been a shift in your relationship. your eyes began to linger on one another's for a few seconds longer than you were used to, you often made plans to spend time together without your other friends present, and the day yuuta left, he'd hugged you tightly, and maybe for a few beats more than he'd hugged the others. before he'd released you from his embrace he'd told you that he'd miss your company the most. you've been replaying those words in your head ever since.
you kept in constant contact with him, and he tried to extend the same to you, but his assignment kept him rather busy.
however yuuta would never fail to send you a good morning and goodnight text each time he picked up his phone first thing that day, or laid it down before going to bed that night.
if anyone asked you about him, you would sing him praises until maki was dragging you away to shut you up. but you couldn't help it- you were so proud of the sorcerer he'd grown into. he had more strength and was more capable than he'd ever thought himself to be when you first met. so when he was brought up, your eyes would go starry and you would simply sing.
but you missed him.
you missed him so terribly that your bones ached. your chest felt hollow. your movements seemed slower. you often found yourself drift out of conversations, even those that actively involved you. it all just seemed so... dull, without him here.
the day yuuta returned home, it was raining.
it had rained all morning in fact, the overcast skies bringing heavy showers. your attention tuned out of your lessons as soon as fat drops began to pelt into the classroom windows. you found yourself watching them race down the glass in between idly taking notes.
although your mood had been rather melancholic, as of late, the gloomy weather actually brightened you. at least it sparked an interest, something for you to entertain yourself with. once your lessons were over you'd hastily made your way to the front doors, eager to spend your afternoon sat on the steps. the top of the steps were so perfectly covered by the awning that you could enjoy the rainfall without being drenched by it.
despite your training having been light today, your muscles ease and relax as you perch on the top step. you wrapped around your knees, drawing your legs close so that you could rest your head atop them. the rain, though not accompanied by thunder, was loud. it washed over the roofing above you like a monsoon, and clattered against the ground like pebbles. it's noisiness soothed you.
but it happened to be too noisy, that you didn't hear the car pulling up, until it was parked in front of the school. curiously, you lift your head, trying to think who it was that had taken on a mission today to now be returned.
when a dark haired figure steps out of the backseat, clad in a all too familiar white jacket, your posture straightens a little further.
you can't hear him as he speaks to ijichi, his arms pitifully raising over his head in an attempt to ward off the rain, but you assume he's assuring the manager that he'll help with the bags.
it's not until he's throwing the strap of a sheathed sword over his shoulder that you're standing, heart finally catching up with your mind as you find yourself racing down the steps.
you pay no mind to the instant drenching of your hair, skin, and clothes, your only focus on your feet carrying you to the boy you missed so desperately that he was worth the discomfort of a little rain.
"yuuta!?"
his back is to you as he's helping ijichi get his things from the trunk of the car, but as soon as you speak his swiveling around eyes wide with utter excitement, and they seem to round even more when he sees you running towards him, not even trying to shield yourself from the rain.
your hair is stuck to your face, at your forehead, your cheeks, your neck, it's messy, and darkened by the constant attack of the rain, but it only makes yuuta's heart stutter more. he can see you grinning the closer you near, and his lips are taking the same shape before he knows it.
"careful!" he hollers over the rain, an afterthought that strikes him once he's snapped out of the lovely daze you'd sent him into.
just in time too, your foot slides over a particularly slick spot of pavement, sending him jolting forward in fear that you'd just sent yourself crashing to the ground.
instead he lets out a laugh as you glide for a moment over the pavement, but never seem to lose our balance as you continue your full sprint.
you're laughing too as you finally reach him, pausing to look at him in wonder before crashing into him, your own laughter bubbly and bright as you throw your arms around his neck and latching onto him with your hug.
"you're home!" you say delightedly through your nervously excited giggles.
despite the two of you being soaked to the bone yuuta returns your embrace with just as much fervor, his arms are around your waist like it's second nature and you're not sure which one of you is clinging harder to the other. your words say it better than anything he could think of to say, he thinks, i'm home.
"I can't believe- you didn't tell me you were coming back!" you're pulling away with a mocking furrow in your brow, the back of your hand smacking his chest in offense. "next time you call me!"
he laughs, a bit breathless, and somehow being scorned by you has never felt so wonderful.
you look beautiful, with rain making your hair cling to your skin, and your mascara run in just the slightest. you look more beautiful than his memory served, and yuuta knows he should explain himself, tell you that he'd wanted to surprise you and all your friends with his return, but words are lost on him.
hell he could almost forget about this downpour while he's standing here staring at you.
you're bewildered by his silence, your expression impatient as you wait for him to say something, anything at all. but yuuta's too lost, you can see it in the glaze over his eyes, the lazy smile on his face as he stares back at you.
and then he's closing what little space had been between you, wet hands sliding over your wet face as he gives into the only thought that's been occupying his mind since laying eyes on you again.
yuuta's kissing you, firm, passionate, fast. he kisses you so deeply you instantly forget that poor ijichi is still present, gathering as much of the luggage as he could before rushing away from the scene with a red face.
you're stunned, but your surprise does nothing to hinder you from kissing yuuta back with fervor. it's a bit messy, the rain making it easy for your lips to slide against each other. this doesn't seem to bother either one of you.
suddenly and in one swift movement, yuuta's pulling away, a horrified look in his eyes as he gapes at you.
"oh my god," he mumbles with wide eyes and worried brows. "i'm sorry, are you sure you-"
before he can even finish his question you're pushed forward again, your hands splayed over his neck to bring him towards you for another kiss. your mouth latches onto his with purpose, with devotion.
yuuta melts back into you as though he'd done this a thousand times, as though he'd already known home in the softness of your mouth.
even when you do part, both panting for breath, letting out quiet giggles as your eyes meet shyly, you hardly move. you stay nose to nose, your hands stuck on one another as if the rain had turned to glue.
"should we go inside so you can greet the others with such..." you trail off, your eyes bright as they flicker between his. "... passion?" your finished thought has you both giggling.
yuuta's thumb traces the trail of a raindrop down your cheek, his eyes following the motion before finding yours again. they're warm, and kind, just as you'd remembered them.
"maybe in just a minute," he sighs lovingly. "the rain's not that bad anyways"

Valentines special (Gojo Satoru x Reader)
Hi, everyone! Posting my personal favorite snippet on my fic I'd lie! you can click the link if you want to read the full version of it. summary: first time meeting itadori yuji, as gojo satoru's wife! warnings: canon-compliant, pregnant reader and drunk-in-love gojo.
15th of August, 2018
You find yourself in the kitchen, humming softly to the music playing in the background. The aroma of the spices and herbs fills the air as you chop the vegetables for tonight's dinner.
A small smile adorns your lips as you hear the servants of your home offer to do the chopping instead. "No, thank you. I find myself enjoying these lately," you politely decline.
The servants bow to you in return, watching in admiration, their eyes fixed on the elegant and glowing woman in front of them, the head wife of the Gojo clan.
As you continue your tasks, your phone rings, breaking your concentration. You wipe your hands on the tablecloth and answer the phone.
"How's my pretty wife doing, hm?" Satoru's voice greets you from the other end of the line.
"I'm doing well," you reply, looking back at the pot and stirring its contents. "I'm cooking our favorite dish. It's almost done, honey."
"Shouldn't you be resting?" Satoru's voice inquires with concern. "You just got off from work. If you're going to do the cooking instead of letting the helpers do it, why don't you quit your job for now and just wait for me every day with your pretty little face?"
"That's not going to happen, Gojo Satoru," your tone was stern and resolute. You continued by confessing, "I hate doing nothing. Simple things like cooking make me happy." He could hear the passion in your voice as you spoke about your newfound love for cooking.
On the other end of the line, he sighed deeply, realizing he couldn't argue with you. He knew that you were a determined and independent person and that it was hard to change once you set your mind on something.
Imagining your pouty lips, pleading eyes, and even a soft, simple "please" from you would make his knees buckle in defeat. He, the strongest sorcerer, was no match for you.
"And also, I wanted to give you a heads up that Megumi will be joining us for dinner tonight," he said, pausing a moment before adding, "Oh, and a new student of mine, too, if that's alright with you."
"Of course it's okay," you replied with a smile, "I appreciate you telling me beforehand so I can prepare. Do you remember the last time you brought Maki, Panda, Yuuta, and Megumi all at once? I was caught off guard and unprepared."
"I remember. Especially how you didn't kiss me for a whole day afterward because you were so upset." Satoru laughed, adding, "We'll be there soon. Love you ~ "
As the call ended, you turned to one of the servants standing nearby, ready to assist you at a moment's notice.
"Hana, please prepare some guest rooms for tonight," you said, trying to keep the excitement out of your voice. "We might need them later for our visitors. Thank you." You patted her shoulder, seeing her nod, before she turned around to follow your orders.
After your engagement, the wedding came soon after, taking place a few months later. You and Satoru had decided to have a simple ceremony with only the most important people in your lives present. You wanted to honor the traditions of the Gojo clan that had fascinated you since you first met Satoru.
Following your honeymoon, you were named the new head wife of the Gojo clan. Satoru's parents had decided to move out, passing on the responsibility of running the family estate to you and your husband. This was a significant moment for you both, as it was a tradition that had been passed down through generations.
The other servants had kindly taken care of wrapping up your cooking and set the table for dinner. You stood in the kitchen, washing your hands; you couldn't help but feel satisfied with your small accomplishment.
Lost in thought, you suddenly felt a pair of soft hands tenderly caressing your stomach, a body pressing up against your back, and nose slowly breathing in the scent of your neck. The unexpected touch sends a shiver down your spine, but you quickly recognize the familiar touch of your husband.
As you turned around, you saw your husband's warm smile that lit up his face. He quickly bent down to one knee and nuzzled his face into your stomach, murmuring, "I missed the both of you." You laughed at his affectionate gesture as you lovingly caressed his hair in response.
"I'm not sure they can hear you yet, love," you conveyed with a gentle smile. "I'm just barely two months pregnant, 'Toru."
Your husband looked up at you with a pout on his face, making you giggle like a teenager. He then stood up, took your face in his hands, and pressed soft kisses to your forehead, nose, and lips. The warmth of his embrace and his scent enveloped you completely.
He then turned to you and said, "Hi, my wife," looking at your face with a loving gaze, as if he was seeing you for the hundredth time but still couldn't get enough of you.
You both heard voices from the dining room, and your husband took your hand, pulling you and leading you toward the two students you had been expecting.
As you entered the room, a pink-haired boy with a curious look on his face muttered, "Wow, it's so big here, Fushiguro," his eyes scanned the delicate features around the room in amazement.
"(Y/N)-san," Megumi noticed you first and walked towards you with a small smile. You embraced him, feeling happy to see him doing well, patting his back and giving him a quick peck on the cheek before letting go. "How are you, Megumi?" you asked him.
"I'm doing well, thank you, for all that food you sent to the dorms, too," he replied, his cheeks turning slightly red at your affection.
As you stood there, your husband caressed your hair and introduced you to the other student. "Yuji, this is my wife (Y/N)," he said, turning towards the boy staring at you in awe, his mouth slightly apart.
"Itadori Yuji, nice to meet you," he said, bowing profoundly and complimenting you on your beauty that made you and your husband laugh.
"Nice to meet you too, Yuji. Let's go eat now, shall we?" you said softly, patting his shoulders as you led him to one of the dinner chairs.
The dinner was filled with laughter and stories as you all caught up with each other. You felt happy to see Megumi and Yuji bonding so well, as they were a perfect mix. You also learned about Nobara, another student you wanted to meet soon. As supper ended, every one commended your cooking, and you suggested that the two students stay for the night, offering rooms that were ready for them. They agreed happily.
As you both retired to your quarters, your husband's face was pressed up against your stomach, his hands caressing your hips as he mumbled sweet nothings to your unborn child.
You ran your fingers through his hair, smiling at the sight of the strongest sorcerer alive baby-talking to your pregnant stomach.
"I love you, (Y/N)," Your night was spent tenderly, with sweet words lingering in the air between you and your husband.
The moonlight bore witness as you made love with each other, lost in your own world of passion and intimacy.
Note: Aaaand that's it! Happy hearts day everyone! Thank you for reading this.
"Where we love is home – home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts."
xoxo,
Aurora.

wip wednesday (june 26 24)
Sukugo, domestic crack rating: about as wholesome as these two get
No one understands how their relationship works. Megumi knows better than to ask questions. Yuuta is just happy that his sensei has someone. The less said about Uraume the better. And Yuuji…well, Yuuji is always some blend of horrified and relieved every time Satoru makes any offhanded mention of his personal life these days.
Satoru once overheard Nobara say to Maki, “I wanna say it’s abusive, but honestly, I’m not even sure who’s abusing who.” He had laughed very loudly at that, and Nobara has, to this day, never looked more embarrassed.
That about sums up everyone else’s thoughts on the perfect disaster that is Gojo Satoru’s attempt at dating Ryoumen Sukuna, though. The only person who actually has the balls to comment on his relationship is, predictably, Suguru.
“Really?” Satoru’s (former) best friend says when he picks up his phone. Not even the decency for a hello. “The King of Curses?”
“Go choke on balls,” Satoru replies easily. “You can’t judge me. You ran a fucking cult.” He hangs up the phone on him.
Suguru calls back.
“And he fucks better than you ever did, too,” Satoru answers to say, and then hangs up again.
Suguru texts: don’t complain to me when you wind up dead.
Satoru replies: jokes on u he’s already killed me twice already.
It’s a complicated relationship, what exists between Satoru and Sukuna.
To be fair, Satoru hadn’t intended to start fucking the worst curse in all history. His plan, when fluke accident by curse user had split the old bastard from Yuuji, had been to kill him. It wasn’t a surprise that Sukuna was really fucking hard to kill, though, and it was even less of a surprise that killing things makes Satoru horny. It turns out they have a lot in common that way. They’d fought, then they’d been making out all of a sudden, and then Sukuna in all his naked, four-armed glory was on top of him, and then—
Well, he’d woken up breathing after. Satoru is still a little pissed that Sukuna killed him when they were done, even if it had been hot.
Even if he’s discovered his soulmate.
Sukuna hates it when Satoru says sappy shit like ‘soulmate’, but Satoru conveniently doesn’t give two fucks what Sukuna thinks about anything. He does, unfortunately, care what Yuuji thinks, though. It is for that reason less than ideal that their affair was discovered like this:
“Gojo-sensei?!” Yuji exclaims. The next second, hands over his eyes, he’s crying. “Why? Why? Why?”
Satoru shoves Sukuna off of him, shooting him a very pointed look that screams, ‘If you try to kill him, I’m going to tear your dick off.’
“Yuuji-kun!” he greets overexuberantly, scrambling to sit up on his desk. He does not scramble for his pants because it does not cross his mind, but later on he realises Yuuji probably would have appreciated that. “Did you need something? Okay, I know this probably looks very weird to you, but don’t mind Sukuna. I know I said I was going to kill him, and I am! He’s just—”
Sukuna, predictably, tries to murder Yuuji before Satoru can even finish talking.
Yuuji squawks as he finds himself teleported out of harm’s way, and Satoru levels Sukuna with an extremely disappointed look. “Was that necessary?” he demands. “Look, you broke half the school buildings!” There is a direct view outside now. And straight to the field, three buildings over. If Satoru cares to look, he can see the second years staring in this direction in alarm. “Yaga’s gonna make me pay for that.” It’s a whine, but it’s deserved.
Sukuna scoffs at him. “Then kill him,” he says bluntly.
“Killing everything doesn’t actually solve all your problems, you know.”
“It shuts you up when you’re being annoying.” Sukuna crosses all four of his arms, and Satoru has called that pouting to his face before.
Right now, Satoru just shoots back, “And yet I’m still not dead.” He leans over to bop Sukuna on the nose and laughs, turning back to Yuuji. “He's adorable.”
“What the fuck,” Yuuji continues to cry. “What the fuck is happening?”
Right, Satoru reminds himself. Yuuji does not and has never considered Ryoumen Sukuna adorable.
Sukuna unfolds his arms and drops a hand on Satoru’s head, half useless threat to tear it off (impossible, but funny to think about), half ruffling his hair. “It’s truly astonishing to me you have the gall to call me adorable, as if you haven’t looked in a mirror lately.”
Satoru beams.
Yuuji sobs. “What is HAPPENING?!”
This is how Satoru ends up with Yaga droning at him for two hours about things that are and are not meant to happen inside of a classroom, and that finding out your teacher is fucking the evil thousand year old curse-sorcerer who had possessed you for the past few months is one of them, or so Yaga repeatedly attempts to impress upon Satoru in between all the shouting and lecturing.

"she likes a boy, but im not a boy" — maki x fem!reader
you were sent on a mission with maki, you two were now in the car on the way to ithe location. you had a crush on her but you didn't know if she felt the same way you did, you were pretty sure maki thought your love for her was in a "best friend" way, and you absolutely hated it.
your eyes wandered around the car, then to outside the window then to Maki who was on her cellphone.
"so,," you started off, "do you currently like someone? like do you have someone on your mind?"
"y/n, you're my best friend, how do you not know? of course i do." Maki answered as she looked up from her phone.
best friend..
"oh– it was yuuta right? what do you even like him for anyways?"
"i like that he's gentle and caring," she hummed, thinking again about what she likes about him again, "i like how tall he is too, the height difference between him and i, is insane,"
you awkwardly laughed, hearing her talk about someone else made your heart ache, but you set yourself up by asking if she had a crush on anyone. you thought about your height compared to Maki's and the difference was completely huge, but you guessed that she liked people taller than her, you were thinking about ways to help you grow..
"What about you? don't you have a crush on someone?" Maki asked as she looked over at you.
You turned your head from the window and you caught Maki staring at you, "Uh— well– I don't actually," You lied.
It would've been so awkward if you told Maki that you liked her.
"You've got to have a crush on Inumaki! He's definitely into you, you should see the way he looks at you" Maki replied as she continued typing on her phone.
"Inumaki is nice, but he's not really my type.." You grumbled.
Your heart ached at the thought of her rejecting you and slowly drifting away or cutting you off because she would think that "you're weird," for liking girls.
She likes a boy
She likes a boy
but, i'm not a boy.
bonus —
"is something wrong with y/n? she's been out of it today since you two came back from your mission.." yuuta asked as he turned to maki.
"she asked me if i liked anyone, but i didn't wanna ruin our friendship so i lied and said that i liked you," maki sighed as she rubbed her temple.
"then i—"
"i told her that inumaki has a crush on her— but she said that he wasn't her type," maki continued as she turned her head to look at you and inumaki in a conversation, you who wefe awkwardly giggling at inumaki's comments.
"then i— friendzoned her—" she whispered starting to feel guilty.
"you should've just told her, she obviously has feelings for you, trust me Maki, it may not be obvious to you, but it's obvious to all of us around you," Yuuta commented as he began to stretch.
"She must've gotten upset when you lied to her and said that you liked me instead,"

💭 〢 REUNIONS
II. REALIZATIONS
You were definitely indecisive at first. Meeting a good amount of new colleagues did seem overwhelming, but confidence started building up inside you. You nodded at Maki who waited quite long for your answer. The corners of her mouth curled up before she fixed her gaze back onto her phone. Possibly telling her friends that they can come over.
It didn’t take longer than a few minutes to start hearing violent knocks on the door. Maki got up from her previous seat and opened the door to be met with a slightly menacing but at the same time shy looking guy. He had blond hair which covered most of his forehead, and was also carrying a large box with him. And behind him was another boy, but wait, why did that guy seem so familiar? Like you had seen him before.
It was confusing, the moment he saw you, he seemed to have freezed as well. Why did he look like the boy you spent your childhood with, why did he look like Yuuta Okkotsu?
The world felt like it was frozen. You both were looking at each other, as if you two were trying to figure something out. Before you could do anything else, the boy spoke.
“Is that you, y/n?”
And there it was, all the confusion in your eyes vanishing into nothingness as it got replaced by an emotion of pure joy. You got up from your mattress, only to embrace your childhood best friend into your arms. You could tear up any second, that’s how happy you felt seeing him again. He had changed so much, his hair which usually rested right above his eyes were now hanging on the sides of his forehead. But his tired eyes remained the same as ever.
The dark haired boy only returned the gesture, wrapping his much larger arms around your body. Even though you couldn’t see his face you could feel him smiling, even from the inside. If you hadn’t teared up by now, he definitely had.
“I missed you so much.”
He mumbled into your hair, his now shaky voice laced with a hint of excitement and a plethora of happiness. A muffled ‘I missed you too’ could be heard from you, whilst you finally pulled apart, Maki was staring at you both in utmost confusion, and the blonde boy was trying not to laugh at how red hues started appearing on Yuuta's cheeks.
—
After explaining your past with Yuuta to Maki, all four of you sat on the floor to play a game which the blonde boy, Inumaki, was picking from the box he had brought. He pulled out a classic, UNO. Your gaze immediately narrowed towards Yuuta, and he only looked back at you with the same, mischief-filled gaze. When you two were younger, you used to cheat in order to win while playing with other kids. Now that you are together once again, why not pull those silly tricks with your friends?
im incredibly sorry if this chapter isnt up to the mark 😭😭 it was a bit (really) rushed
ill try to think of an uploading schedule so i can write properly w/o worrying abt starving my 27 pookies

cielo beloved i personally would love to hear your thoughts on homewreckers yuuta and maki 🙌
you and another anon asked for yuuta and you have included maki and OF COURSE i will give my thoughts to you <333
i'll start with yuuta. first of all...yuuta huge on getting you to emotionally cheat with him smh. yuuta's your best friend. yuuta's the person you go running to when your boyfriend makes you cry. yuuta's the one there for you. and he'll always be the one there for you. he's the one that's bringing you your favorite snacks. he knows your favorite flowers. he makes your boyfriend look like a chump lol. i think yuuta also plays a little coy at first. makes comments like..."ah, well, we probably shouldn't hang out like this...wouldn't your boyfriend get mad?" or "well, if i was your boyfriend..."
he knows what he's doing. yuuta lures you into it. and really, it's all love, he just needs you to wake up to it.
i think he's also a little too possessive so i don't think he stays the other man very long, either. i do think he's patient with you, though. his love is the patient type, so he claims.
maki on the other hand...she doesn't give a fuck LMAOO. i actually think she's downright disrespectful. especially if you're dating some man she doesn't like.
answers your phone when your boyfriend calls like, "they're busy..." might even be a little out of breath over the phone, covering your mouth so no one will hear. wouldn't stop tho. doesn't care what he thinks.
always asks "you're still dating that loser?" fjdklsfj gets sorta mean about it.
defs always has to egg you on about like...how clearly he isn't satisfying you like she can...leaves obvious marks and when you scold her about it she scoffs. then tells you to break up with him then.
like megumi, i don't think she has the patience to be around your boyfriend without potentially causing a fight. possessive, too. i thinks maki finds it fun at first...also some weird pride/competitive thing in her...but eventually she'd get to a point of like...yeah okay you're done with him. and that's a command at that point LMAO.
#i think they can easily go yan too#yuuta especially#but maki too defs#vic i hope you're doing well!!#cielo chats!

grow in the wild of changing things
"if you seriously propose that i sit on your lap," maki warns. "i will kill you." 1k. yuuta/maki. fluff. also on ao3.
The mission goes horribly wrong so horribly fast.
It starts with Yuuta forgetting the whetstone to sharpen his katana with that morning.
In a rush to leave—because evidently Gojo didn't believe in informing his students a day ahead of an out-of-city mission until literally hours before—he only had his emergency bag and Maki screaming at him to hurry up as his rather unpleasant morning call. It was an overnight mission somewhere in Higashiyama, and the mindless grinding of the sandpaper against steel was usually comforting to do just before he slept. When he looked at Maki who sat next to him on the shinkansen, so perfectly poised with her entire luggage accounted for, it just served as another reminder of how out of his depth with this whole jujutsu thing he still was.
Then there was the actual mission: an actual dragon-like thing spawned from one of the cultural centers in a suburban highschool. It was a measly Grade 2 level at most. But it was huge and breathed fire. And there were only two of them. Sometimes Yuuta wonders if Gojo purposefully misassigns them missions to test their abilities and/or force them to adapt to the times. It wouldn't be the first time he played mind games on them like that, recalling his first ever mission with Inumaki that left them both bedridden for an entire week.
Now as Yuuta stares into the belly of the beast, talons biting into every available surface, there was only one thing in his mind: He really shouldn't have answered the damn phone.
-
"Maki-san!" Yuuta yells out, running with lightning at his feet. The dragon was pulling its head back, a tell-tale sign it was getting ready to spew fire into the gymnasium. His clothes are singed from the edges and half his lungs are filled with smoke. "Can you lead it away from the school?"
"I'm already on it!" Maki is making a beeline for the gap between the trees, taunting the dragon into following her tail.
It takes them five hours to cut just one of its arms alone, and another three for the tail. Maki worked tirelessly to keep a close offensive stance against the beastly thing, her spears blunting themselves over and over again but still pulling through. Yuuta's katana serves its purpose despite the steel not being its sharpest peak, and it's Yuuta who delivers the final blow: cutting through the flesh of the dragon’s neck and watching satisfactorily as its head breaks into two.
"Fucking finally," Maki yells out somewhere under him. "As expected of you, Okkotsu!"
Yuuta blushes, wiping away some of the blood from his forehead. Maki gave out compliments so easily like that sometimes that Yuuta has to reign it in and remember she's just being nice.
"Ah, well," Yuuta smiles down, sheepish. "It was a joint effort!"
Maki just smiles wider. "Whatever you say!"
-
Ijichi isn't picking up and Maki is starting to panic.
They had a good stay in the hostel, far better lodgings than any accommodation Yuuta has at least been privy to. It had an in-house onsen that both of them took turns taking full advantage of, washing the day away and feeling the warmth seep into the marrow of their bones. The rooms were nice and spacious. The silk sheets even more so. But he guesses that was to be expected, it was Kyoto after all.
Now it is sometime past 9 am, and Ijichi is almost never late. The winds were suddenly picking up and neither of them were dressed for cold travel.
"Try him again," Maki gestures to his phone hurriedly. "I'll try Gojo-sensei."
Yuuta picks up his phone and dials the familiar number, waiting exactly three rings before the call cancels itself automatically. He tries two more times after that before giving up entirely, at the same time Maki manages to get a hold of Gojo.
They were talking in a hushed tone, Maki nodding along apprehensively, until sometime after that she starts shaking her head and repeats no, no absolutely not all over again in rapid succession. She was growing more distressed by the minute. Yuuta can't make out any of the words, walking closer and gesturing, Everything okay? Maki shakes her head. Yuuta waits for her to end the call before asking anything.
"What happened?"
"Ijichi got sent on an emergency mission in Sendai," Maki says annoyed. "There's no other assistant available to drive us back."
"I see," Yuuta says calmly. "So we're staying another night then?"
Maki seemed to grow even more distressed again. "No," she bites out, not meeting his eye. "He—ah—he arranged a different transportation for us."
It's then Yuuta finally realizes the sudden wind change, now so violently thrashing against them they had to hold on to their luggages more firmly. The ground was shaking from beneath them, and belatedly Yuuta could hear what he thinks are wings flapping in the distance. From the sound of it, something big was coming their way. And it's not until Maki looks out to the sky and swears under her breath, that Yuuta spots it.
Another fucking dragon.
-
"What if—" Yuuta starts.
"If you seriously propose that I sit on your lap," Maki warns. "I will kill you."
Gojo's brilliant, totally ingenious idea had been: renting out Getou's cursed spirit. It wasn't the Rainbow Dragon that routinely patrolled the school on a nightly basis, but the one he preferred to pull out when he had to demo a curse technique in class and needed a low-stakes output of cursed energy. He travelled with it sometimes. But that was the catch: the thing wasn't built for two people.
"Maki, really," Yuuta's hands are itching to reach out. She was too near the edge. "You're falling."
"I'm not," Maki insists, adjusting her hold on the dragon horn again. "I'm just — it's slippery."
"Then come here," Yuuta gestures to where he was positioned more securely against the dragon's tailbone. "Or at least hold my hand."
Maki scoffs. "Hanging out with Todo too much, have you?"
Yuuta fought a grin. "Maybe," he says, enjoying the wind kissing his skin. "But maybe I just want to make sure you don't fall sixty feet to your death, too."
"I won't fall," Maki stubbornly insists. Yuuta sees her briefly glancing down for a second and notes the sharp intake of her breath. "Dragon won't let me fall. Won't you, Dragon?"
The dragon groans in response. Not very comforting.
Maki curses again. "This dragon has been out to get me the moment I accidentally stepped on its tail that one time.." she mumbles under her breath.
Yuuta looks amused. "Dragons can't hate people."
"Shut up, Okkotsu!" yells Maki, breathlessly, because they were gaining speed and her hold on the horn really didn't look secure. "You can say that because every one of Getou-sensei's curses love you! They—"
Maki is interrupted by a pair of strong arms reaching out to circle around her waist, pushing her back against a solid chest. Yuuta's arms peek out from under her elbows, grasping firmly into the dragon's cordeo and steering them down into calmer winds. Maki shut her eyes the moment she felt herself being moved, unable to so much as breathe against the sudden change of position. She can feel Yuuta laughing lowly behind her, his deep chuckles vibrating against the length of her spine.
"You were saying?"
"Shut up, Okkotsu," Maki hisses, eyes still wired shut. The wind was brutal against her cheeks and she's positive her hair was flying all over the place. She nervously feels around for Yuuta's arms and circles the fabric around his uniform sleeves. "Just shut up and don’t let go."
This only caused Yuuta to howl, so gleefully, his voice so open against the morning sun and clean air. He sounded so free then. "I won’t. Now open your eyes, Maki."
Maki shakes her head profusely. "No."
"Just do it," Yuuta nudges at her from the side, voice baked in amusement. "I'm not gonna let you fall."
Maki takes a shallow breath, and then two more. She can hear Yuuta humming impassively behind her, so patient and calm against all the warring in her head. She tries channelling some of that, his zen, and braves enough to crack open an eye.
The hitch in her voice, this time, was for an entirely different reason.
Maki takes it all in: the clouds shifting and changing from right beneath their feet, the vast expanse of atmosphere that all at once seemed all-consuming and like she couldn't drink it in fast enough. It's golden up here, not blue; not like what all those books say.
"Beautiful, right?" she hears Yuuta say, somewhere not so far behind her, somewhere suddenly so close to her ear. She turns to her side and sees: the halo of the sun shining down on him, his cheeks marooned from adrenaline rush, and a smile so golden the sun herself paled in comparison. "The view really is better from up here."

Hmmmm in your reverse-age Goyuu, do you have any thoughts on Toji's placement? As in: is he a generation older than yuuji and therefore 2 generations older than gojo? Or is Toji unexplainable still 1 generation older than Gojo and therefore same generation as Yuuji?
~Messy
P.S. it pisses me off that Jjk doesn't give us good comparison material; is Yuuji's strength comparable to Tojis? If Yuuji were 21 (24?) and fully developed, how would these two monsters compare with each other?
It depends! I don't always do a one-to-one reversal for such AUs—that is, it's not necessarily the current teen characters being adults and the current adult characters being teens, with the generations within each group following the existing order. It's whatever works for the story. I need a degree of internal coherence, which I usually manage up to a couple of layers, but other than that, canon's my bitch. For instance, in baby blue, Yuuji, Megumi, Nobara, Maki, and Yuuta are all adults, while Satoru, Suguru, and Shouko are Yuuji's students. But Nanami was Yuuji's teacher, and it's implied he died in a manner similar to canon.
For Toji in particular, it depends on whether Megumi is Yuuji's peer or his canon age. If he's Yuuji's peer, then Toji would be a GDILF two generations above Gojou—tbh, I don't think this will change much about the Plasma Vessel mission. If Megumi wasn't even a blip in Toji's testes when Yuuji was born, then you'd get the canon age order for Toji and Gojou.
For powerscaling, I'd redirect you to the JJK subreddits, but not only would you not get any answers, you'd be left with a burning urge to stab your phone, so I'll refrain. Yuuji's physical prowess (presumably sans CE) is stated to be greater than that of pre-awakening Maki. During the GW event, Megumi says Yuuji can take on the entire Kyoto cohort, Tōdō included, in a battle without cursed energy. There's no solid comparison between him and current Maki or Toji, other than him being able to keep up fine with Maki against Sukuna. But there were too many factors at play there to really judge. My take based on what we've seen and scaling accordingly is that Yuuji with CE would match Maki or Toji but would be weaker without CE. An older, more experienced Yuuji with HR-like physical prowess (not equal to HR, given its nature, but not that far behind from the looks of it) and CE manipulation is likely to be stronger.
Reddit will likely disagree! And honestly, play-by-play fight analysis isn't my strong suit. I just digest the whole thing and make inferences at the global level.

Ma Cherie ❤︎
What Once Was
Pairing: Inuokku/f!reader
Length: 9.3k
Summary: Sometimes reminiscing the past can hurt, but sometimes it’s for the better.
A/n: omg hey guys, sorry for taking so long. I had a lot to deal with these past two week, so I’m a little behind. This chapter focuses heavily on (y/n) and the relationships she has with those around her. This isn’t totally proofread and my desk top has been glitching a lot lately, so please let me know and I will fix it! as always, there’s an oc version and this is cross posted on ao3.
Ma Cherie master list
─── ⋆⋅ December 2017 ⋅⋆ ──
(Y/n)’s standing outside the classrooms, watching as her breath fills the air. She hadn't noticed that everyone had already started to leave until Inumaki tapped her on the shoulder. She snaps out of it and sees that Yuuta was also waiting for her. (Y/n) smiled at the two, noticing how their hands brushed against each other. The three of them had been toeing the line between friends and lovers for some time now, so it was quite adorable watching Yuuta start to figure out that the couple liked him quite a bit. As all the first years were walking away from class, goofing around and acting like kids, Yuuta stops and looks at the sky. Everyone else stops and looks at him, asking him what's wrong.
“Uh, well… I just had a bad premonition,” he responded.
“You’re imagining things.”
“Yep, imagining things.”
“Okaka.” (Y/n) laughs softly at everyone’s comment. She looks at Yuuta and grabs his wrist before hurrying up to catch the others.
“Huh? Guys wait!” She feels a nudge from Inumaki and she looks over at her boyfriend who tilts his head and smiles at her, she smiles back.
“Well, your ability to sense curse energy sucks, you know,” Panda starts.
“Figures it be dulled, with a curse like Rika constantly around you,” Maki finishes. As they all continued to joke around and make their way off campus (Y/n) could see a little white blob in the sky. A bird, she realizes. A really big bird. (Y/n) felt her phone buzz and pulled it out.
‘Incoming call from weezer🧿🧿’
“That's unusual.” (Y/n) looks up from her phone to see what Panda was talking about to see that the bird has landed in front of them.
“Yuuta’s intuition was correct.” (Y/n) quickly answers the phone call to alert her brother that there was a bird heading for them, even though she knew chances are he already sensed it. As the bird landed, another figure fell to the side. (Y/n) could make out formal clothing, a Gojo-kesa, and a lot of black hair, but that’s not what made her freeze. That bloodflow, she thought, I know it.
“You’re… not staff,” Maki observed as she pulled out her spear. She sees a person she hasn’t seen in a very long time, her beloved brother.
“Sugu-nii,” she whispers into her phone, already forgotten in her hand. Suguru looks around for a second before staring right at her and smiling.
“Yo, (Y/n)-chan! It’s been a long time.” Tears started to form in her eyes, she didn’t know what to do. Her chest began to tighten as a wave of emotions came over her, she feels overwhelmed and she just wants to go to sleep.
“Sugu-nii, what are you doing here,” she asks. Although she didn’t know if she wanted to know the reason why.
“You’ve grown a lot, well I guess that’s to be expected. How are your studies going?” He eyes the phone in her hand and frowns slightly. She felt the blood rushing to her ears and couldn’t move. Suguru appears in front of Yuuta in an instant and she can’t help but feel slightly jealous of how quickly he moved his attention to someone that wasn’t her. Someone with more power, she thinks.
“Nice to meet you, Okkotsu-kun. I’m Geto Suguru.”
“O-oh hi, nice to meet you,” Yuuta replied.
“You possess a truly wonderful power, I see. I believe that great power ought to be used towards great ends.” (Y/n) felt her frustration bubble beneath her skin, like a wildfire with no one around to stop it. The Suguru she knew believed that the strong must protect the weak, that shamans exist to protect non-shaman.
“Have you ever questioned the current state of the world? This world where jujutsu shamans act in secret in order to protect the order of commonplace society. You see, there’s this established paradox,” he started as he let go of Yuuta’s hands and began to move more freely, “saying that the strong must protect the weak,” he continued.
(Y/n) could feel her blood begin to flood through her ears, slowly drowning out the utter bullshit he was spewing. She saw Suguru wrap his arm around Yuuta, but at this point she didn’t care to listen. She was so unbelievably tired. Tired of listening to his tangent that is so different to the lectures he used to give her growing up.
“-we would like you to help us kill all non-shamans and create a world with only jujutsu shamans.” And in a split second, the pedestal she held her dear brother crumbled underneath his very feet. The others saw how upset she was getting and were also starting to get riled up. You see, (Y/n) has known that Suguru was not the same, but it’s different seeing and hearing it. She has heard for years about how he was a traitor, murderer, cult leader, but she could always deny it in her mind. How could someone who taught her right and wrong end up being so very… wrong? She poured hours of her life into reading the files the school has made of him. Spent hours outside his temple hoping to get the courage to see him, to ask why. She’s spent years trying to prove to herself that her brother never changed, but she’s finally seeing what everyone has been saying. She’s seeing all the things she’s ignored and she has this revelation that maybe, maybe she didn’t know her brother as well as she thought she had.
Above all else, she’s infuriated at how someone who hurt not only hundreds of innocent people, but her family, herself, her dad, waltz back into her home as if he never left it in the first place. As if he never left her.
“Could you stop preaching your crazy beliefs to my students?” With the voice of her brother, the one that stayed in her life, she felt her anger bury itself further under the surface, where she could manage it better. Suguru’s mouth pressed into a thin line before turning itself into a smile, but not the one he used to give Satoru, a fake up filled with nothing.
“Satoru! Long time no see!”
“First of all, get away from those kids, Suguru.” She looked at Satoru and saw how tense his face was. She could only imagine the amount of heartbreak he must be feeling. The man still had a hard time eating fried chicken after all this time, let alone even speaking of KFC.
‘Guess we’re going to eat a bunch of sweets tonight’.
“I had heard this year’s first-years were all outstanding students. Now I understand. It was all your doing. A special-grade cursed human, a cursed corpse mutation, the descendant of the cursed speech users, our beloved sister, and the zen’in clan failure.” (Y/n) clenched her jaw and moved herself to be more in Suguru’s eyesight blocking Maki, her best friend. She could feel Maki pull her behind her as she juts her spear forward towards Suguru. The look on his face makes her want to vomit, he looks absolutely appalled by Maki.
“Watch what you do, because I don’t need any monkey like you in my world,” his eyes slid over to (Y/n), “how unfortunate that you’ve chosen their side, (Y/n)-chan.”
“Monkey,” he called her, he called Maki a monkey. Tears that had been welling up in her eyes were finally threatening to fall, not from sadness, but from the unabated anger making its way to her heart. Yuuta made eye contact with her before pushing Suguru’s arm off.
“I’m sorry. I don’t really understand what you’re talking about, but… I can’t help anyone who insults my friends!” Suguru lets out a sigh before he begins to speak once more.
“My apologies. It wasn’t my intention to upset you.” She felt a hand on her shoulder shortly before she appeared in between Yuuta and Suguru. ‘Toru-nii’.
“Then what exactly did you come for?” Even with the bandages covering Satoru’s eyes, she knew that the soulmates were making perfect eye contact.
“To declare war,” he responded. (Y/n) felt her jaw tense and she gently nudged Satoru after feeling his hand tighten against her. Suguru turned away from Satoru and looked at the others.
“Everyone gathered here, open your ears and listen closely! On the coming December 24th, when the sun sets, we shall conduct the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons. It will take place in the crucible of curses, Shinjuku, Tokyo, and the holy land of jujutsu, Kyoto,” He announces.
“We will unleash a thousand curses upon each place, and of course their command will be to ‘massacre’. If you wish to avoid a scene straight out of hell, come and stop it with all your might. Let us freely curse each other!”
The smile on Suguru’s face unnerves (Y/n) slightly and she has the sudden realization that maybe, just maybe, she genuinely doesn’t know him anymore. The blonde girl behind Suguru lets out a screech that quickly wipes his malice laced smile into a softer one.
“Geto-sama! The store’s gonna close!” Her whining was giving (Y/n) a huge headache.
“It’s already that late? I’m sorry, Satoru, (Y/n)-chan. My girls just insist on going to get crepes from Takeshita street,” he began, “so I’ll be taking my leave.”
My girls, so he really did replace me.
When she looked up, Suguru set a hand on her head, though there was a slight delay. Satoru had activated his Infinity on her when he had grabbed her, only releasing it when knowing Suguru wouldn’t hurt her.
“See you soon, imōto.” He removes his hand and all she can think is how much she’s missed him. The two of them watch for a second time as he leaves and this time it stings just that little bit more. She looks at the group and then at Satoru, and takes a deep breath.
“Maki,” she says, “can we make some cookies?” Maki, who knew the other girl like the back of her hand, simply nodded, knowing she needed the distraction while their teacher and the rest of her family would undoubtedly be busy with meetings.
“Gojo-san, we need to go.” Satoru looked down at the girl, his little girl, and gave her shoulder one more reassuring squeeze before letting go.
“I’ll swing by later tonight, okay,” he whispers before taking his leave and giving the others a nod and going back to campus.
As they walked back she could feel everyone's eyes on her, it made her skin crawl. It was as if it was on fire and it made her so incredibly uncomfortable, but she told them that she would talk about her feelings when she was ready. And they respected her wishes just like she’s done to them many times before.
─── ⋆⋅ August 2017 ⋅⋆ ──
It was the first time in a while since (Y/n) had been sent to live at the Technical College. After Satoru graduated, he officially adopted (Y/n). It was a day filled with happy tears, hugs, and an obscene amount of sweets. They had moved into an apartment and her family quickly grew from there.
Nine years later she’s back at the school and moving into a dorm with the promise of learning and finally earning money. It was about two weeks before classes were supposed to start, but she wanted to get back into the swing of things, help Inumaki move into his dorm and maybe make another friend. There was one person she had yet to meet and she wanted to at least be acquaintances with the other girl before classes started. One perk of your ‘bro-dad’ being your teacher, you find out about stuff before you’re meant to.
(Y/n) had already met and was friends with two of her classmates, Panda and Inumaki. Although the latter is her boyfriend and future spouse, so she supposed it didn’t really count. She had heard that the other girl was from the Zen’in clan and was unable to see curses. She hoped the two would be friends since they came from similar filial situations.
As she was moving that last of her things into her new room, or rather Satoru’s old room, she spotted someone moving into a room not too far down. She finished setting her things down and made her way over to the room before noticing the door was ajar. She knocked and smiled when the girl turned around.
“Hi, I’m (Y/n)! I’m your classmate, I believe.” The other girl did a once over before walking a little closer.
“Maki, you are.” (Y/n) looked up at Maki and smiled another bright smile.
“I like your hair! Do you need any help setting things up? I’m nearly finished, so I can lend a hand if you would like.” Maki looked down at the girl and noticed a couple scars on her body, a deep, jagged one on her collarbone.
“I can manage,” she replied. (Y/n) nodded her head before saying her goodbye’s before heading back to her room.
“Oh, I almost forgot! Let me know if you would like to explore the campus later.” Maki turned back around and nodded.
“You’ve already taken a look around?” She smiled and nodded.
“Something like that.”
————————————————————————————————————
Maki did in fact take her up on that offer and the two spent the next couple of weeks getting to know one another and becoming friends. They made a couple references to their families and although (Y/n) already knew of her ties, she would never want to pressure someone into opening up before they were ready.
The four first years quickly became friends and it felt as if they had known each other for years. Well for three of them that was the case. Maki would later learn that (Y/n) and Inumaki were in an arranged marriage, and were quite happy about it, along with Panda and (Y/n) knowing each other from their childhood. They were the only children around each other on campus and a friendship blossomed from there.
Maki and (Y/n) would later become best friends and share about their pasts. The day Maki found out about (Y/n)’s last name, she knew she could trust her with her’s. The pair became two peas in a pod and spent quite a large amount of time together, forming a sister-like bond. After one job together the two got matching beads to make bracelets with.
“They’re kind of like my favorite thing ever. Although if you don’t wear jewelry we can find a different way to match!”
A little over a month after meeting, (Y/n) had confessed that she wasn’t that skilled when it came to using weapons to fight without using her cursed technique. She was taught hand-to-hand, but had refused to learn how to handle a blade herself after some instances in her early childhood. Maki had been the one to teach her, and quite frankly who else would you want?
In the late nights beneath the blanket of stars, it was difficult for (Y/n) to ignore her trauma and all the emotions that consumed her mind. She kept up her more carefree, level headed demeanor during the day with ease, but when there was nothing else to occupy her it became overwhelming. Due to this the four would spend many nights together under the gentle glow of the moon, just talking and messing around. Just acting their age.
Later in the year Yuuta would show up and (Y/n) would be forced to see her brother take his last breath, but that’s for later. This is now.
─── ⋆⋅ December 2017 ⋅⋆ ──
When they finally made it back to the dorm everyone agreed that they needed to take a five minute break before they started moving again.
(Y/n) went to the showers alone since Maki was going to set her spear back in its case. As she walked she imagined all the time Suguru had walked these halls, had placed his feet in the same places as hers. After he defected she had spent a lot of nights with Shoko due to Satoru being a complete wreck, he would cry and he never liked crying infront of her.
“I’m supposed to be the one comforting you when you cry, not the other way around.”
He had been so depressed after, albeit he still is, but when the memories were still at the front of his mind, when the wounds hadn’t yet faded to scars, he would lay in Suguru’s bed and let his body be wracked with sobs. It was a heartbreaking thing to hear and most nights, or early mornings rather, she would sneak into Suguru’s room and curl against her brother. He would squeeze her tight and not let her leave until the last second. As if he was scared she would leave too.
While her mind was distracted, her feet had carried her back to Suguru’s room. She hesitated to open the door, but when she did it was covered in a thick layer of dust. No one has been here for years. Well, maybe Satoru since he could use his infinity, but she couldn't be sure
“Only for a minute, (Y/n), you still have things you need to do, a shower to take, and acne to scrub away.” Unfortunately it was not a minute, not even five, when she looked at her phone she noticed it had been closer to two hours. When she rose from his bed her body hurt and there was an outline of her body on the sheets. Her head ached from the tears she shed, yet her eyes still burn with the anticipation for those to come.
She eventually made her way to the showers and could see how red her eyes were and how swollen her face was. She thought she looked similar to a weird looking squirrel.
________
After her shower she set her things down back in her room and made her way to the kitchen where her friends were there waiting. They made no comments about her eyes and no comments about her face. Set on top of the counter were all the ingredients for baking cookies.
─── ⋆⋅ October 2017 ⋅⋆ ──
It was the day of the exchange event and Yuuta was looking a little nervous. More like queasy if anything.
“ ‘Kkotsu, you feeling okay?”
“Kamo-san! How are we supposed to fight other students?”
“(Y/n), ‘kkotsu!”
“Sorry, sorry! (Y/n)-san, a-are you not nervous?” (Y/n) patted him on the back and smiled.
“You’ll do great, ‘kkotsu! I mean you have a target on your back, but it’s nothing to worry about. Maki and I ‘ll make sure you don’t die! Right, Maki?”
“Don’t drag me into this, (Y/n).”
“I’m going to die!” She sighed and shook her head.
“Ah, sorry, wrong choice of words. You’re not going to die, however you might get a little injured. Although everyone does.”
“I’ve accepted death.”
“My god, you’re dramatic.” She quickly glanced down at Yuuta to see if he heard her, he had and looked… well pathetic.
But like a good pathetic. No, (Y/n), don’t think that. That’s gross.
(Y/n) looked over at Maki and motioned for her to come over. Maki saw this and turned around, so she didn’t see them. (Y/n)’s eye began to twitch ever so slightly.
“Maki!” The girl groaned, but turned around and made her way over and looked at him.
“You’re not going to die, stop exaggerating. You’ll be fine. Now get up and don’t embarrass us.” Yuuta looked up at the girl and shrunk back.
“I’d get up and listen, Maki doesn’t like repeating things,” (Y/n) whispered before grabbing his arm and hauling him up before Maki got too frustrated. The two girls were wearing their matching bracelets today, although they weren’t the most neatly made things, it showed that they were a pair. Maki had hers underneath the sleeves of her uniform while (Y/n) had
hers, and the many others she’s made/collected, where everyone can see.
Maki didn’t like wearing jewelry since it made a lot of noise and could get in the way while she fought, but for (Y/n) she’d wear one. (Y/n) looked over and saw the Kyoto school began to show up, so she brushed off any dirt on Yuuta and smiled at him.
“You’re going to be just fine. Toge, tell him he’ll be fine.” Inumaki rested his hand on Yuuta’s shoulder and gave him a thumbs up. Panda watched this interaction and had a slight blush on his cheeks. He made his way over to (Y/n) and bent down to talk to her.
“(Y/n), are you seeing this?”
“Seeing what?”
“Are you okay?”
“Panda, is everything alright?”
“Inumaki is flirting!”
“Huh?”
“He’s flirting with Yuuta!” She looked at the two and shook her head.
“He’s not flirting, but it’s fine Panda!” Panda looked down at the girl before feeling her head to see if she was being delusional due to being sick. (Y/n) let him be, but not before sending him a questioning glance.
“Panda… you know I wouldn’t mind if he was flirting, right?” Panda placed another hand (paw?) on (Y/n)’s head. She sighed and gently moved his hands away.
“Panda, I don’t mind if Toge likes ‘kkotsu. I think he’s kind of cute actually.” Panda looked at the girl, confusion written all over his face. After a couple seconds she could practically see the gears turning in his head.
“Oh… so you both like him?” She shook her head.
“I don’t like like him right now. If anything it’s a small crush, but I think Toge does. Though who could blame him, he’s really adorable.” Panda watched as the couple both looked at Yuuta and noticed how they both had a light blush on their faces.
‘Humans are… weird.’
“It’s not weird, Panda.” The said corpse looks at her in astonishment.
“You can read minds?” She laughed and shook her head.
“No, I can’t, just a guess.” Panda hummed and nodded his head rapidly.
“(Y/n), Panda let’s go!” The two made eye contact and giggled.
“I’ll tell you about it later,” she whispered before making their way over.
“Coming my lovelies!” Maki raised a brow and had a small smile on her face.
“You’re hyper today,” she noted. (Y/n) smiled at her.
“I’m always hyper.” Inumaki looked at her and bumped shoulders with her and grabbed her hand. When they finally reached the meeting place, she saw Noritoshi and some of her happiness began to subside. In its place came many variations of emotions. When it comes to siblings there’s typically a sense of attachment, however she hasn’t spent time with her brother in quite a while. Yet there’s still that underlying feeling where she knows that he may not be able to think for himself just yet, he’d still protect her if need be.
“Akane-san, nice to see you.” (Y/n)’s hand clenched around Inumaki’s as she plastered on a smile. And there he went, bringing up a past and its memories along with it. A past that had no business being brought up. However she couldn’t blame him the same way she might her father.
“(Y/n), Nori. I guess in our time apart you’ve forgotten.” His mouth set into a thin line before trying to speak once again, but Maki beat him to the punch.
“Play nice for now and remind him up close and personal later.” The girl let out a small laugh into her free hand and looked over at her brother.
“Only if you have my back.”
“I always do.” The girls made eye contact and smiled. (Y/n)’s big and bright while Maki’s was more subtle. Platonic soulmates are always the best kind of friendships to have.
As she looked at her older brother she remembered meeting one day in the middle of the brutal summer heat and smiled to herself.
‘He’s so different, yet so similar all the same.’
─── ⋆⋅ June 2005 ⋅⋆ ──
The sun was burning her skin, but she didn’t mind. As long as she didn’t have to see her family. Satoru and Akane were at a meeting for all the shaman clans and he had told her that she should come too.
Now you see, (Y/n) is a well respected shaman-in-training when she’s older, loved by many, but when Akane was not. Akane was a nuisance and forgotten by most.
A burden
A useless child.
A waste of male, Kamo blood and inherited cursed technique.
Shortly before Satoru began school, the young girl had begun to show signs of a cursed technique, over time it became aware that it was an inherited one. In the Kamo clan women used to be worshiped. Women were seen as gods, as holy entities that were meant to lead rather than be leashed. Unfortunately foreign ideology slowly began to seep its way into the everyday lives of the people and enforced their ideals upon them.
For many in the shaman world, or any world for that matter, women are treated as second class citizens if they’re lucky enough to be seen as human at all. In the shaman world women are meant to breed more shaman children, and then their children will breed more, and the cycle continues. (Y/n) was blessed with a powerful cursed technique, blood manipulation. It garnered a lot of attention. Many believed that it should have gone to a male member of the family, someone who would become an heir. Though she didn’t know why anyone was complaining, Noritoshi was born powerful and most ‘importantly’ a male.
Akane didn’t like attending these meetings, but Satoru told her that she had more than earned her place to be here and she was willing to follow him anywhere.
“You’re Akane, correct?” The small girl turned and saw another young boy, a little older than herself. Her eyes widened at him, he’s gotta be the heir for Father.
“Hi. You’re Noshitori,” she asked. His borrows furrowed and a slight frown tugged at his lips.
“Noritoshi.”
“Oh, sorry.” He huffed and moved his head to face her more. The young girl thought his eyes were closed.
“How old are you?”
“ ‘m four!” She showed him a bright smile and he didn’t need to open his eyes any more than they already are to know that there might be a few teeth missing from it.
“Why are you here? Father couldn’t have asked you to come.” She shook her head before remembering he couldn’t see her.
“Oh no, he didn’t. ‘Ru asked me to come.” His brows furrowed again and tilted his head to the side.
“Who,” he asked.
“‘Ru!” The boy looked even more confused.
“Gojo Sa‘ru!” His eyebrows raised and Akane thought they might fly off his forehead.
“Gojo Satoru?” He clearly didn’t believe her, but with the way she kept on nodding her head it was difficult not to. The two stood next to each other and had a one sided conversation because even though she was four and it was sometimes difficult to understand her, she never stopped talking. She went on about some kids in her class and how she was learning her letters and numbers, but she couldn’t read quite yet. She made it a point to describe everything was seeing, so Noritoshi could ‘see’ it too. He didn’t have the heart to tell her that he can actually see and that his eyes just look closed. While he was looking at her as she talked, he noticed the similarities in their features such as their eyes and nose, along with their hair. What caught his attention was how much she looked like their father’s wife.
‘Her mother’. He reminded himself.
Once the meeting was over and everyone began walking out, Satoru quickly made his way to the children and ruffled the girls hair.
“Akane! You’re so lucky you don’t have to go to these things, they’re so boring. Maybe if you went inside with me next time it would be more fun!”
“‘ ‘Ru! My hair!” He laughed in return and turned his head to look at the boy.
“Who’re you?”
“Kamo No-”
“He’s m’ brother Nori,” Akane interrupted. She stood up from where she sat on the ground and said her goodbyes to the boy, wanting to leave before the rest of her family showed up.
“See you later, Nori! It was nice meeting you!” He nodded and a small smile threatened to make an appearance, but before it could his father spoke and called him away, back to the estate where his mother no longer was.
─── ⋆⋅ October 2017 ⋅⋆ ───
When the exchange event came to its conclusion, (Y/n) hadn’t been as amazing as she had hoped. She didn’t make it to the final round of the one-on-one fights, and she made many mistakes in the group battle. She wished she could have done more, fought more.
She got too ahead of herself and nearly passed out from blood loss. Yuuta had to carry her around for that last part of the group battle, which she was still incredibly embarrassed about. However he assured her many times he didn’t mind it. She had gotten an earful from Yaga and Satoru, Maki had smacked her in the back of the head, Shoko had looked at her endlessly, but kept her thoughts to herself (not before staring at her in a way that made her feel even more embarrassed than she already was), and somehow Nanami even found out and sent her a wall of text telling her not to act that recklessly again. Inumaki had signed so fast she could barely keep up, and she felt awful for making him worry that much. He had sat next to her until Shoko allowed her to leave.
“Try not to pull a stunt like that again, (Y/n). Too much paperwork.” (Y/n) smiled softly, knowing that she was trying to show her concern without outrightly stating it.
“I’ll try not to, Sho-nee.” Shoko nodded and shooed her away the second she got a text from Utahime.
When they went outside, (Y/n) felt her phone buzz in her pocket
‘Incoming call from shadow wannabe’
“Oh, ‘gumi wh-”
“What did you do?” (Y/n) paused for a moment. What did I do?
“... huh?” she heard a long sigh on the other end
“Gojo sent me a text saying you wouldn’t be able to get me from school and you’ve never been late, let alone not there.”
“Aw, are you worried about me?” She smiled.
“Nee-san.” She laughed at the huff he let out.
“Ah, well I needed to see Shoko. During the event, I pushed myself pretty hard and so I had to stay in the office for a while. But I’m better now!” She looked at Inumaki and tapped her wrist. He then showed her the time.
‘Thanks,’ she mouthed.
“It’s pretty late, please tell me you didn’t just get home?”
“...No.” (Y/n) let out a sigh.
“Were you bullying kids again?”
“It’s not bullying if they start it, plus you’re the one who told me that bullying works.” She rolled her eyes.
“I said that ‘cause you’d pour ranch, ranch, all over your fries and then wipe your fingers on your shirt. It was gross, and now you don’t use your shirt as a napkin. Bullying is effective in some cases, like when it comes to siblings. I don’t think you need to get nearly expelled from another school. ” Inumaki was laughing quietly next to her as the two continued walking to their respective dorms. Megumi mumbled something under his breath that (Y/n) didn’t catch, though she could take a wild guess at what it was.
“Are you okay?”
“I’ll be fine, ‘gumi. Nothing I haven’t done before. You had a test today right? How was it?”
“It was fine, I guess. Boring, Nakamura-san tried to cheat off me again. If she wasn’t obnoxious I would’ve let her be, but she’s never returned my mechanical pencil and she even uses it right in front of me! So of course I tell the teacher after the test. She tried to get her little brother to beat me up. Her little brother.” (Y/n) laughed softly, voicing her frustrations and agreeing that maybe harassing children was okay in the instance. She had been watching Inumaki fiddle with her fingers as they waited outside the dorms for the call to be done. After a while, she looked around and noticed that Noritoshi was waiting for her on a bench just outside the dorms.
“Hey, ‘gumi, I gotta go, but I’ll call you back later okay?” He stopped his tangent about how he couldn’t wait to be done with middle school.
“Can you facetime me later so I can see the ‘hottie’ you’ve been talking about lately?”
“Which one?”
“Black hair guy.”
“Oh, Okkotsu. No, he’s asleep in the infirmary right now, but we’ll call you back okay? We’ll introduce you to him soon.”
“Hi, Inumaki-san. Bye, Inumaki-san.” (Y/n) chuckled before hanging up.
“Toge, you head back first. I’ll be there in a sec.” He nodded, but not before giving her hand a squeeze. (Y/n) made her way over to her brother and sat down next to him.
“What you did today was reckless.” She groaned.
“Not you too, I literally just sat down!” He looked over at her, the tiniest traces of a smile on his lips.
“Yes, me too.” (Y/n) sighed and leaned against the back of the bench.
“It’s nothing either of us haven’t done before. I don’t know why everyone is acting as if there won’t be days where I’ll be put in a worse situation.” He sighed and looked at her.
“We all know that being a shaman comes with its occupational hazards, but that doesn’t change how -how idiotic you were acting. You were actively drawing blood out of your body and trying to control it with no medium to ease that burden. That’s dangerous! I know that we all will have to put our lives on the line a million times over for this job, but that doesn’t mean one should seek out death. There is a difference between risking death to win and being willing to die.” She peeked over at him and saw the furrowed brows, his worry lines creased.
“You sound like my dad.”
“Well Gojo-san is right.” She looks at him with wide eyes before bursting at the seams, letting out a loud laugh.
“I wasn’t talking about Toru-nii, to be specific, I meant in general.” He glanced towards her and frowned.
“He adopted you, did he not?”
“He did.” He nodded his head before looking back over.
“Is he- is he nice?” (Y/n) looked at him before smiling.
“He’s the best dad I could’ve asked for.” Noritoshi looked down at the ground, a smile fully formed on his lips.
“That’s good.” She glanced at him a couple times before she began to fidget, picking at her nail beds.
“I… I’m sorry for making you worry. I’ll be more careful in the future.” She moved her body to face his. She hesitantly wrapped her arms around him. He froze for a second before wrapping his arms around her.
“I’m sorry for not being there for you, for not being a better older brother, (Y/n).” She felt her emotions bubble their way to the surface.
“I forgive you, it’s not like I was the best sister either. Thank you for being here for me now.” They sat like that for a while, not moving.
That night they opened their hearts for the other. After years of competing against each other, it was weird, but it was for the better. The two would still get into arguments about their… family, but now they were no longer alone in the Kamo clan. In the future they would slowly grow a bond and finally become the siblings they have longed to be for one another. But that’s the future. Tonight was the first step into becoming a family, towards healing.
─── ⋆⋅ December 2017 ⋅⋆ ───
The sound of laughter filled the air as everyone was somewhere in the kitchen baking. It was a mess, but they would deal with it when the time came. Satoru was watching in the doorway, watching as children got to be children. He had planned on consoling (Y/n) throughout the night, but can see that she’s distracted for now, so he went home to bother Megumi. He’ll cancel classes tomorrow and spoil everyone, like an amazing teacher would.
“(Y/n)-san, where did you learn how to make cookies?” She was sitting on the counter as Inumaki was putting the cookies into the oven for a couple minutes longer. Maki and Panda were trying to stealthy eat the leftover batter even though she said not to since there were raw eggs in it, and Yuuta was standing to the side of her, very close.
“Su-” she took a deep breath before continuing, “ My brothers taught me how to make them. Any time I had a bad day, we would spend hours in here making cookies, brownies, cake. Anything sweet really, Toru loves sweets.” He kept on twisting the ring on his finger, his connection with Rika. He then looked at her and moved closer so that his stomach was touching her knee.
“Do you mean Geto?” She hums and nods. He was watching every little twitch she made, making sure she was okay and that he wasn't overstepping. The two continued to talk about everything, anything, and nothing as they waited for the cookies to be done. Inumaki eventually made his way over and stood shoulder to shoulder, well more like shoulder to arm, with Yuuta, effectively corralling (Y/n). She has a soft blush on her cheeks the more and more they move closer. She went to look around the room to see if the other two could save her from embarrassing herself, but they weren’t there.
How convenient.
“You know… since I call you by your first name, you should start calling me by mine.” There was a light blush on his cheeks as he said this.
“Yuuta… are you flirting with me?” That blush traveled to his ears. A slight nod of his head. (Y/n) leans in just a touch closer, though the blush she sported alo grew. She felt her blood rush to her head as Inumaki draw shapes on her thighs.
“We’ll always be here for you. We will try our hardest to make sure Geto doesn’t hurt you.” She looks him dead in the eye and her face goes slack.
“Yuuta, Sugu-nii hurt me a long time ago. I- I appreciate the thought I really do, but I’d rather he hurt me than hurt anyone else. Actually, I’ve never told you about him, have I?” Yuuta shook his head. They all sank against the wall and onto the floor.
“Well, I first met him when I was four.”
─── ⋆⋅ September 2005 ⋅⋆ ───
It was a couple weeks since school started and the three first years had yet to actually become the friends they will be to one another in the future. Suguru and Satoru weren’t best friends quite yet, and Shoko hadn’t scammed her way to a medical degree either. They had yet to go through the horrific tragedy that was Riko Amanai’s and Haibara Yu’s death, Suguru had yet to adapt the ideology of wiping out all non-shamans. The future has yet to happen, but unfortunately it is inevitable.
Satoru had been extra hyper that day, ready to get school over with faster than normal. He was getting on everyone’s nerves and Yaga had given up correcting him earlier within the day. When classes finally finished Yaga had pulled Satoru to the side and told him he needed to talk to him before Satoru could leave.
Suguru had been on his way to his dorm room to finish his homework when he saw a small girl walking up the steps with a small bag wearing a formal, and quite beautiful, kimono. Suguru walked over to the girl and squatted down in front of her.
“Hi, I’m Geto. What’s your name?”
“Hi, I’m Akane.” The young girl did a deep bow and nearly fell over. She quickly raised herself, blushing from embarrassment.
“Are you a firs’ year?” He raised a brow, wondering who this girl was, but nodded his head regardless.
“Do you need help? Did you get lost?” She shook her head, but Suguru still took her bag, holding it for her. She thanked him before asking if he knew where ‘Ru’ was. He was confused, seeing as he didn’t know a ‘Ru’, but told her he’d help her find him. It wasn’t long before it became apparent the girl knew more about the campus than he did. As they were turning the corner she heard a frantic ‘Akane’.
“ ‘Ru!” Akane smiled widely before taking off in the opposite direction. Suguru followed after her, however only needing to walk to keep up with her. When he saw Satoru making his way over to the girl, it finally clicked who ‘ru’ was. Satoru. He felt a little foolish for not catching on sooner, but watched as Akane launched herself into his arms, gripping for dear life.
“Akane, I've told you not to wander off like that when I’m s’posed to meet you somewhere.” She tilted her head down and mumbled a small sorry. Satoru sighed before saying he’s sorry for taking so long.
“Ah, sorry Gojo, it's my fault she wasn’t at the front. I was helping her look for you.” Satoru finally looked up from the girl, directing his eyes to his fellow classmate.
“How annoying,” was all he said before getting up, while still holding the girl, and walking off. Suguru quickly followed when he remembered he still had the child’s bag. As he followed he saw Akane making silly faces at him and giggling. Suguru found it quite amusing, even more so when Satoru saw the exchanges the two were having. Satoru scoffed when he saw the young girl smile at his classmate.
“Are you jealous that she’s giving me attention, Gojo?” Satoru turned around with a disgusted look on his face.
“Who would ever be jealous of you? You have weird bangs and an awful hairline.” Suguru pulled a face as if he’s sucked on a lemon and kicked his shin.
“My hairline is not awful and my bangs are fine. You shouldn’t even be saying anything about my hair when your hair looks the way it does!” Satoru and Suguru were invading each other's personal space, faces an inch or two apart.
“What about my hair, Geto?” Akane watched from her place in Satoru’s arms and laughed loudly. Both of them backed up and looked at the girl.
“You like each other!”
“... Huh?”
“Sensei says that if a boy picks on you it means he likes you. You pick on each other, so you like each other.” Oh how observant and blunt children can be. Both boys complained and made comments about how ‘wrong’ she was, but we as the readers (and those with common sense) know they’re just stupid.
“Wait… Gojo, how do you know Akane? Is she from your clan?” Satoru looked him dead in the eye and with no hesitation responded.
“She’s my sister, you idiot. Ya know for someone who claims to be as smart as you are, you’re pretty stupid. How’d you think I knew her? Did you think I had a kid at eleven, that I kidnapped her and she has Stockholm syndrome?” Suguru looked to the side, letting out a nervous laugh.
“Oh my god you did, didn’t you?” Satoru shoved him before walking off with the girl, failing to remember her bag again. However, that may have been on purpose so a certain boy would be in his dorm later that night.
When they finally got far enough Akane reached up and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“You called me your sister! Does this make you m’ brother?” Satoru looked at the girl, a laugh falling through his lips.
“I’ve always been your brother, since the day I met you.”
That day (Y/n) gained a brother and discovered she had one all along. That day (Y/n) opened her heart to another person without meaning to. In the future he will walk off with a part of not only hers, but her brother’s as well. When that day arrives, her brother will be there to comfort her, to remind her that he’ll always be there. When that day arrives, (Y/n) will learn that sometimes ‘soulmates’ doesn’t mean forever.
─── ⋆⋅ December 2017 ⋅⋆ ───
(Y/n) felt the tears make their way down her cheeks, she felt Yuuta hold her in his arms as Inumaki got up to take the cookies out of the oven. She felt safe, loved, and appreciated. When Inumaki came back, he brought a plate of cookies with him.
‘Do you want to go to your room, or one of ours?’
“ Mine, please.” Her voice was soft, almost like she was whispering. The three of them picked up their things and made their way to (Y/n)’s room. Yuuta had only seen her room in passing, never actually stepping inside. It felt taboo in a way, he’d never been in a girls room before. Though the way the couple held his hands, guiding him in, there is no way in hell he would walk away.
Stepping into the room, he saw that her room was cluttered, not messy, but covered with items. He saw that there was barely any actual room to be seen. There was something covering nearly every inch. What caught his eye were the polaroids taking up a good chunk of her wall. Some were faded, discolored at the edges, while others were more recent. There were so many different people in the photos, but some were consistent. In an older one, he saw two boys holding (Y/n) at the beach. The boys held hands and one of them was giving the older one a kiss. He could see how bright everyone's smiles were. Upon closer inspection, he noticed that the boys looked familiar. Yuuta’s eyes widened as he turned around.
“(Y/n), is that sensei?” She looked over and nodded her head.
“The boy next to him is Sugu-nii. They used to take me on trips with them all the time.” He saw the dates on the bottom of the pictures span across years. Small sticky notes to the side stuck close to the photos. Unlike the photos, he could tell that these weren’t old, they were relatively new.
‘7/9/07 - last family trip to the beach’
‘4/12/07 - yu and ken-nii took me to the movies’
‘6/21/05 - first playdate with Nori’
‘5/17/05 - first playdate with Toge’
‘10/6/05 - last day with mother’
Yuuta watched silently as (Y/n) stood next to him, a vacant expression on her face, while she stared at them.
“What do you see when you look at these, Yuuta?” He looked confused at first before taking a closer look. What caught his eye was the way Geto seemed to go from a smiling, happy person to a cold, husk of a human. He also saw Gojo go from a carefree person to someone who bore a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. He saw Shoko’s eyebags grow darker, he saw Nanami grow more distant, he saw (Y/n) having a harder time smiling. He could see how much it pains her to stare at the people that are no longer in her life.
“You… you’re hurting all the time, aren’t you?” She looks at him, her eyes dulled just slightly.
“I’ve seen the more brilliant shamans come in and out of these dorms. I’ve seen them pursue successful careers, I’ve seen them die while attending here. I’ve seen so many people who feel the same as Suguru, I’ve felt the same as him. After he left I still held hope that he wouldn’t stay gone. That he would come back. I would leave voicemail after voicemail, asking him when he’d be home, that we’d welcome him with open arms. I think Toru-nii still would, to be honest. He could never move on after he left. I keep these photos as a reminder, to remember the people I have lost, to remember those who didn't get a chance to grow old like I have.” He sees Inumaki reach out and hold her. He holds her against his chest, trying to offer any comfort he can. Yuuta looks at Inumaki, silently asking him if it truly was okay for him to be seeing this, for him to comfort her.
Inumaki reaches his hand out, an invitation for him, Yuuta hesitantly grabs his hand. Inumaki pulls him towards them and this time Yuuta doesn’t hesitate. He wraps his arms around the people he cares deeply about. He holds them for the rest of the night, taking his place in their hearts and solidifying his place in their lives.
─── ⋆⋅ September 2007 ⋅⋆ ──
The day started fairly bland if anything. The sun was slightly hidden by the clouds, it wasn’t too hot or too cold, (Y/n) hadn’t slept in and she made sure to carefully make her way from her brothers tangled limbs and tiptoed out of Suguru’s room before leaving.
She went to school and no one said anything mean, she got a good score on her spelling test and she wasn’t late home. Suguru had told her before (Y/n) left for school that he would take her out for ice cream if she had done a good job. He had said that he would be there waiting for (Y/n) at the school gates.
He wasn’t.
The six year old had thought that maybe he was busy, or that he lost track of time, although three missed calls later she decided to go home. Satoru had gotten her a phone after what happened the year before with the older kids bullying her so she could get help if she needed it.
Throughout the walk back to the school, she had hoped that he would be there to greet her.
He wasn’t.
She had sat in the kitchen, waiting for him to pop up and fulfill his promise of ice cream.
He hadn’t.
She had sat on his bed doing her homework, hoping he was busy with a mission or out with Satoru.
He wasn’t.
She had been wandering the halls, looking for him, when she heard her older brother yelling. It was then she thought that maybe he had died. That he wouldn’t be coming back.
He hadn’t died.
She watched as Satoru screamed and screamed, hoping for an explanation.
She wouldn't get one for a long time.
She saw her brother a couple days later sitting on the steps of the school, eyes red, face swollen, as he explained to her simply.
“Sugu-nii won’t be coming home, (Y/n).”
“Did he die?”
“...no, not physically.”
She had waited for Suguru anyway, waiting for him to come back and make Satoru feel better.
He never came.
One day after school she walked and walked to see if she could find Suguru herself.
She did.
“Sugu-nii? Is that you?” she watched as he turned around, surprised to see her there. He had been talking to an older man with a faint mustache on his upper lip and spiky hair.
“(Y/n), what are you doing all the way over here? It’s not safe. Where’s Satoru?” She looked at him. She saw that his eye bags were gone, that the slump in his shoulders was no longer there, that he was gaining weight again. She also noticed that his hair was no longer in the tight bun he usually wore.
“ ‘re you feeling better?” His eyes widened a small fraction and smiled.
“ I am. Where is Satoru?” She looked to the side quickly for looking back at him.
“He’s not here. I don’t think he’d notice right now.” He frowned slightly before kneeling down in front of the girl.
“I’m sure he will, (Y/n). He’s just moping about. Satoru will be back to normal soon.” She shook her head.
“ It’s like you died, Sugu-nii. I don’t like it at all. Are you coming home soon?” He looked at the girl, thinking of what to say next.
“(Y/n), I’m not coming back.” (Y/n)’s brows furrowed before looking back at Suguru.
“What d'ya mean you’re not coming back? You have to, so we can be a family again!” He let out a heavy sigh. How do you tell the person who you view as a little sister, who you know if you stayed with you’d view her as your daughter, that you’re leaving and have no intentions of coming back? Suguru didn’t want to hurt her anymore than he already has or will, but he knew he couldn’t let her continue to hope that one day things will go back to normal. Even if he did, he would be executed for his actions. He reached for his wrist, taking off his bracelet, and handed it to the girl.
“Here, (Y/n), so you can remember me. Satoru has a matching one, you’ll be his only family now, so you need to take care of him. Okay?” She looked at him confused.
“But you’re family too.” He opened his mouth then quickly closed it again. Suguru looked at the sky before looking back at her.
“I hope you’ll forgive me one day, or at least try to, but I’ve found a new family. One who understands me, who won’t judge me.” The small girl looked confused. All this time she had thought that they were a family, a happy family. (Y/n) thought that the love they had for one another would be invincible. Tears welled up in her eyes that she tried to fight back.
“But I love you, isn’t that enough?” Suguru was at a loss for words. He had been the one to preach to the girl that love can save people, that respect can save people. How could he face her after everything he’s said?
“I will always love you, you and Satoru, but I can’t stay in that place anymore. I was in pain and now I’m not,” he rose from where he was and pulled the girl into one more hug, “when you’re older, you can come find me, but for now you need to stay with your family.”
(Y/n) hadn’t understood it at the time, but she did get older. As she grew up, she poured over the files of her brother, trying to understand why he did what he did. She sat at the steps of the cult for hours at a time, trying to get a glimpse of him. She even tried to go in, but (Y/n) could never open the door.
As she grew older, she began to understand where Suguru was coming from, but that didn’t mean she agreed with it. She continued to deny her brother's actions, still clinging onto the hope he would be there when she woke up.
He wasn’t.

𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐊 𝐒𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 ❤︎₊ ⊹ YUUTA OKKOTSU
summary. yuuta is having relationship troubles and he isn’t sure how to go about it.
tags. established relationship, college au, mentions of blood, murder, yuuta pov, suggestive sex. 2k wc.
“Where were you? I stopped by the shop to bring you food, but they said you weren’t in today.”
The door squeaks softly on its hinges as you slowly close it behind you. Once it's is fully closed and locked in place, the doorway remains tensely silent. Yuuta watches as you turn to him fully with slightly widened eyes, lips opening and closing as you struggle to answer. There's nothing accusatory about his tone, but the way he holds your gaze with those dark eyes of his is making you hesitate.
He wouldn’t admit it out loud, but he finds himself relishing in the upper hand that he has over you right now. Just this morning you had told him on your daily phone call that you’d be busy with work later tonight. That often meant you wouldn’t see each other until the next day, but you’ve been so distant lately that Yuuta’s been yearning for you more than usual.
He ached to see you, even if it was just picking up food from your favorite restaurant and dropping it off at the bookstore. It’s still packaged and bagged, now sitting cold on your kitchen counter.
You weren’t at work when you said you’d be, and now you’re unsure of what to say. Though he's caught you in your lie before you even respond, Yuuta decides to file it away at the back of his mind. Benevolent as always with you , he gives you an out instead.
He smiles gently and takes your backpack from you to lessen the weight on your shoulders. “Did you get the days mixed up, love?”
“Y-yeah, I guess I did. Sorry, I was studying at the library.” you reply carefully, giving him a tentative kiss on the cheek as you step further into your apartment. “I’ve just been a little stressed about the midterm coming up.”
Like fresh morning air kissing your cheeks, Yuuta eases you into a sense of relaxation like the good boyfriend that he is. He caresses your cheek and goes to reheat your takeout for you while you take a shower—which is something you used to do before bed and not right after coming home. It may be minuscule to others, but he’s always been observant of your little details. It’s how he keeps you happy and something you’ve appreciated about him, as he’s always attentive to you and your needs.
It’s also the reason he’s noticed that it’s not the first lie he’s caught you in lately.
You’ve been a sneaky little thing; saying you’re someplace when you’re actually not, claiming you’ve gone to sleep yet he sees you’ve read his text at 2am—staying out later but not informing him where, no longer asking him to accompany you to the laundromat, and taking more showers than usual.
Yuuta pretends as if everything is alright. Yet there’s doubt stirring in his gut.
He asks Megumi about it. Megumi says to leave you alone as you’re probably dealing with something and don’t want to be bothered.
He asks Maki afterward. She says to straight up confront you about what you’re hiding and talk it out like adults.
He even asks Professor Gojo, who tuts at the fragility of young love but doesn’t give an actual answer. Then again, he’s chronically single. What would he know?
It leaves him at a deadlock. Maki’s advice is the most sound, but so is Megumi’s. Yuuta doesn’t want to push your boundaries and force you to confide in him, even if he’s your boyfriend and it’s what he desperately wants. But he also believes that being honest to you about his doubts could clear up these inconsistencies.
He opts for neither.
What’s funny is that it’s Professor Gojo’s nonsensical spiel that speaks to him most. Young love is fragile, and Yuuta is afraid of doing anything that will compromise your relationship. Almost to a fault, if he had to be honest with himself. A misstep could cause an explosive argument and drive you away from him. It’s an outlandish thought brought forth by his deep affection for you, as you’re not that type of person at all.
You’re level-headed, patient, sweet, and kind—the most beautiful girl Yuuta's ever laid eyes on. He can’t lose you.
So what he does instead is he begins to follow you around. He watches as you enter the History building where your night class is, and remains outside for some time. He gives himself half an hour before he decides to go in, but the time mark doesn’t even pass before you walk out of the building. Through the side door. You’re not not carrying your backpack or books on you, and he wouldn’t have even noticed your dark clad figure if he hadn’t been intently watching.
It’s easier to follow you through the dark night when you’re on campus as there’s still several other students roaming about and allowing him to blend in amongst them. Yet you eventually leave the university and take to the quiet streets. Yuuta curses under his breath and has to create a larger distance to remain undetected. It works in your favor when he eventually loses track of you and has to head back to his apartment.
It’s not until much later when he's laying restlessly awake in bed and staring at your fake goodnight text that he wonders what you were even doing. He could’ve headed back to the History building and waited for you or asked your classmates where you were, but he told his own lie to even follow you in the first place; that he was spending the night at Toge's.
What an elusive bunny you were turning out to be. It only made Yuuta's desire for you burn even deeper, branding his soul as yours.
While he’d love to follow your every move, he also has classes, a job he can't miss, and is a teacher's assistant to a pretentious man with keen attention to detail. I’m following my girlfriend around to find out what she’s hiding, was not a valid excuse. Not even Professor Geto would accept it. As charming as he is, his mentor also has no lovers so he wouldn’t understand.
It’s not until weeks later on a sunny weekend that he finally has you all to himself. The two of you are having breakfast at a small diner, and his eyes are boring into the chunky TV mounted on the wall while you’re digging into your french toast beside him in the leather booth. He’s gratefully sipping on his black coffee and hoping it revitalizes his will to live, as he’s lost sleep over you ever since that first night he lost track of you.
His hair is messier than usual and there’s dark circles under his eyes, which you sweetly fuss over and attempt to kiss away as if you’re not the reason for it. But you don’t know this, and Yuuta won’t place that guilt on your shoulders, so he basks in your affection and reassures you that he’s fine. The exhaustion is seeping deep into his shoulder blades as he continues to watch the news when his eyes suddenly widen at the screen.
“Y/N, look.” he shakes your shoulder gently, and turns to you in a frenzy. The buzz of conversation in the diner has gone down suddenly, someone turning up the volume on the TV. “It’s—”
His teeth instinctively bite down, and a burst of sweetness lands on his tongue from the cherry you popped into his mouth. He’s treated to the delightful sight of you laughing at his surprise, and then you take another cherry from your dish and place it between your teeth. You look at him expectantly with the fruit still visible to him, and it makes his cheeks heat up.
He knows what you want.
Yuuta hesitantly looks around the restaurant and finds that the other patrons are paying you two no mind, most are looking in the direction of the TV. Once he’s reassured there’s no eyes on you in your small booth, he leans down and takes the cherry from your lips with his own. The red juice splits in half between the two of you and drips messily down your chins, but you both don’t care.
He chuckles into your mouth, cupping your jaw as you swap the cherry in a deeply sensual kiss. It feels like ages since he’s laughed and trades kisses with you, so he’s bolder than usual, his previous bashfulness at PDA gone. He sucks on the juice from your tongue and curls his other palm into your waist, pulling you flush against him.
The warmth of your body spurs him on, and he can't help but nibble on your lower lip. You whimper and gasp his name into his mouth—yuuta—your delicate hands grasping at his white button up. That familiar fire lights within him—hungry and possessive—that drives Yuuta to madness. That dizzying, heady madness driven by love.
You spend the entire day at his apartment, not once leaving the bedroom.
Yuuta thought that spending an entire day worshiping your naked body and painting your insides over and over with his sticky load—marking his territory—would ease his mind over what you’re hiding, but it doesn’t. Because it continues on, and Yuuta finds himself stuck on a cycle. He moves his entire schedule to have an opening, he follows you, and he loses track of you every single time.
He even begins to call you every night to make sure that you’re getting home safe, as things have been shady around town. He offers to walk you home, even if his class schedule conflicts with yours and his job is on the other side of town. But you stubbornly decline, not wanting to impose on his already busy schedule.
The thing is, Yuuta is also stubborn. He’s tenacious once determined, something that Professor Geto says will get him far in life. So, he calls out of work and follows you closer than he has so far. Even when he’s sure he’ll find you where he thinks, he rounds the corner to the parking lot behind an abandoned warehouse after minutes of silence and finds it empty of you. He’s greeted by the cold night air and the metallic smell of blood.
Panic shoots up his body and has him running further until he reaches the end of the lot and his white sneakers almost step on a puddle of blood. It glistens dark under the moonlight, and it has Yuuta’s hands shaking as his eyes follow the small trail. It leads him to a large dumpster; rusty from years without use. His heart is beating out of his ears as he looks down into the dark abyss.
But it’s not you that he finds.
Immediately, he sighs in relief and places a palm over his pounding chest before the realization kicks in. Because while it isn’t you, he recognizes who it is.
Well, he actually doesn’t know who he is.
It’s the man who bumped his shoulder and tried to drunkenly start a fight with him one night when the two of you were walking to the movies after a dinner date. Yuuta was going to let it go and get you out of there as your safety was his only priority, but the man backhanded him while slurring obscenities. Still, he remained calm even as he flipped the man’s entire weight until he landed flat on the ground with a knee to his chest. The man’s friends nervously apologized over and over, but Yuuta only had eyes for you. Instead of responding to the blubbering idiots, he tenderly asked if you were okay and got off of the man when you nodded.
He got up, took your smaller hand in his, and never looked back. He really thought it was the end of that, but here was the man now. Rotting in a dumpster. The sight stunned him to his spot, and with shaky hands, he grabbed his phone and called you.
Suddenly, that morning at the diner rings in his head like an alarm. Like a sirens song, he had been so charmed by your flirtations that the news headlines were pushed to the back of his mind. It was no coincidence, then.
Yuuta anticipates your voicemail after several rings when you finally answer.
“Hello?”
“Hey, sweetheart. Where are you?” he asks lightly, eyeing the corpse. The limbs are bent out of shape, grotesque in the way it was forced to fit inside the small space.
“I’m—” you paused, and it’s only then that Yuuta could hear you catching your breath. He turns and sees a small alleyway beside him as a side exit to this lot. “I’m walking home from work. What’s up?”
“It’s so late,” Yuuta sighs, absently checking the outsoles of his sneakers for any blood. Both are good. “You should’ve at least called me. I’m worried about you being out right now. You know, I heard that Miss Ito was killed recently.”
You click your tongue. “Ah, was she? That’s so scary.”
But you didn’t sound scared at all.
Why would you? Miss Ito was the bartender at the local music venue who shamelessly flirted with Yuuta, continuously doing so even when you were there. She was a few years older and always giving him and only him free drinks, all while “playfully” trying to paint you as an immature girl who can’t keep up with him.
“Mhm, it is.” Yuuta doesn’t know a lick of what murdering someone entails, but he assumes it’s tiring. He can hear it in your lovely voice and he doesn’t want to add to it. “Call me back when you’re home, alright? I miss falling asleep with you.”
Your voice softens. “I do too, Yuuta. I’ll call you right when I get there. I love you so so much, you have no idea.”
Yuuta thinks he knows how much, if the stab wound right in the man’s neck is anything to go by.
“I love you too.” he smiles, sending you a little kiss before the call ends.
He remains standing for a few seconds before crouching down and opening up a private tab on his phone. He learns how to scrub blood and footprints off of asphalt and other various methods to clean up traces. The box of rubber gloves under your bathroom sink flashes in his mind and he knows that his girl is smart.
The pride that blooms in Yuuta's chest should concern him, but he welcomes it like an old friend.
Because this isn’t the first person you’ve killed. After that night, he begins to look deeper into other deaths in the area and the timeframe aligns with all the other times that you’ve disappeared from him. Some kills are random while others are personal—mainly those who have wronged him in the slightest way.
All this time Yuuta was afraid of losing you, but you’ve been so devoted to him the entire time. So he devotes himself right back to you just as he’s always done. He appears when you leave after a fresh kill and cleans up any little slip ups you may have missed, scrubbing away anything that can trace back to you. He’s diligent, like a guardian angel always at your shoulder.
He even catches you in the act one night. His dark eyes widen at the sights and sounds, but his heart beats only for you. He pays no mind to the dying person and worries for your aching body. Already, he’s planning to draw a bath for you and slip in behind you so he can scrub your back and wash your hair.
The thing is, Yuuta understands that what’s happening isn’t right. He knows that what you’re doing is vile and disgusting and should be punished. But he also understands that he just can’t let that happen.
You’re his sweet girl who’s soft and has given him a home in your heart. The girl who wraps him in her arms when he can’t sleep and soothes him until he does. The one who patiently allowed him to grieve over his loss and never judged him for obsessing over a childhood love.
Yuuta knows now that you love every part of him, and he’ll love every part of you as well. He’ll uplift you and strive to be the best future husband that he can be, and he’ll bury every single body you splatter on the ground.
@yutaleks @gojoath just wanted to tag the yuutaists. ❤︎ notes. this is a re-upload from my old account, almost two years ago? I tweaked it just a bit, hope you enjoyed!

SPECIAL GIFT ! ─ YUUTA
related to the yuuta smau !
happy birthday yuuta!!
YUUTA X READER
──────────────────────
Before you could get a say in anything a sudden bang was heard from your door.. and then another one and then yelling.
"I'm coming!" you yelled as you walked up to your door, opening it and was greeted with your friend and cousins.
Inumaki was the first to flash you his mischievous smile before barging in with wrapping paper and a bow?
"What are you doing?" You asked.
"Nothing!"
──────────────
Yuji right now, along with Nobara, had oddly made their way inside Yuuta's dorm and began setting up.
Where is Yuuta?
He's alone in the library, reading whatever books that interests him until he got bored and decided to face time you.
But you're in a bit of a situation.
You answered the call though, in your bathroom while a certain someone is hanging on your door.
"Hi- Is everything okay..?" Yuuta's voice was heard from your phone.
"Hi yuu, yes everything is totally fine! How are you?" You asked, giving him a smile.
"I'm okay I just got bored bu-"
He was cut off by your scream and your door being heard flying open and a familiar laugh.
"Y/N??" Yuuta frantically asked.
But the call was off and all he was left with was the ending call.
──────────────
Yuji and Nobara in the other hand was having a great time in his dorm, throwing confetti all over and randomly got cake as well.
Megumi decided to pay them a visit, he got bored in your dorm leaving Maki alone with Inumaki.
Before Megumi can leave the female dorms, he made out a running Yuuta coming close and closer.
"Should I let him ruin the surprise or not.." Megumi mumbled.
He shrugged his shoulders and stood there waiting for Yuuta to come close and then, decided to distract him.
"Hi" Megumi said.
"Have you seen Y/N?" Yuuta asked, getting straight to the point.
"Yeah, she's okay."
"She didn't sound so on the call."
"Oh."
...
"Wanna go for a walk?"
"What?" Yuuta asked out of surprise.
"I mean, okay.."
──────────────
Maki and Inumaki, mostly Inuamki, are now staring at the perfect gift ever and now they needed to transport it into Yuuta's dorm.
"So who's gonna lift that?" Maki asked.
"US duh." Inumaki simply stated, rolling his eyes.
Maki sighed as she got hold of the end, Inumaki holding the top and then began exiting the dorm.
Mid way, Inumaki held eye contact with Yuuta and Megumi.
Yuuta, obviously confused at what they are holding, stopped walking and began to just stare.
Megumi, holding his head in shame just grabbed his hand and walked away further from the duo.
"What are they carrying?" Someone mumbled.
"Should we call the police..?"
──────────────
After a long walk, the group, minus Megumi, had finally come together and all they needed was Megumi to bring Yuuta!
Nobara was now phoning the boy while giggling at the gift.
And now they are on their way back, lights off and everyone hiding, minus the gift.
The silence was loud until the sound of the door opening was heard.
"Why is it dark in here.." Yuuta mumbled.
"You leave your lights on when you step out?" Megumi asked.
"I wasn't gone for long so I didn't found the need to."
Then finally he turned it on and was greeted with the gift as first then everyone came out from hiding yelling a big an loud:
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"
Scaring him, obviously.
"How did you make it in here?" Yuuta asked.
"Forget that! Here's your gift!" Inumaki said as he shifted his gift.
Yuuta, staring long and hard at it then came to realization.
"Is that.."
"No.." The voice from INSIDE the gift said.
"Y/N??" Yuuta yell as he began to unwrap the gift, and was greeting with his now sweating girlfriend.
"FINALLY." You said as you stared at your lover.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY YUU" You exclaimed as you gave him a kiss.
(They poked holes for you to breathe!😉😉)

JJK x “WOULD YOU STILL LOVE ME IF I WAS A WORM?”
ft: Yuuji Itadori; Megumi Fushiguro; Nobara Kugisaki; Toge Inumaki; Maki Zenin; Yuuta Okkatsu; Satoru Gojo; Kento Nanami; Suguru Geto; Toji Fushiguro; Choso Kamo; Ryomen Sukuna
cw: just a buncha’ fluff, enjoy
Yuuji:
- confused!! so confused!!!!
- “uh, like, a literal worm?”
- he’d wiggle his finger in a wormly manner for emphasis
- when you tell him yes, a literal worm, you can actually see how hard his brain is working to make sense of this
- “I mean, sure, why not! 😁 ..WAIT BUT WHAT IF I CRUSH YOU ON ACCIDENT?? ☹️”
Megumi:
- “…a worm?”
- “a worm!!”
- “no”
- he’s not budging on this
- will insist that he loves you, but he only wants to love you as yourself
- not as a fucking worm
- he has a personal grudge against worms after coming second place to one all his life
- thanks toji
Nobara:
- “ew, no”
- she does NOT like bugs
- BUT she does like you
- so you totally can convince her to change her mind by saying that you’d still love her if she was a worm
- “I guess I could keep you in my purse or something.”
Inumaki:
- “salmon” with a very firm nod
- no hesitation
- he was ready, he knew this day would come
- the question everyone with a gf must be prepared to answer someday
- immediately sends/shows you this:
- like he had it cued up and ready to go
Maki:
- “no??”
- don’t worry she’ll cave
- if you pout when she tells you no, then she will feel bad and rectify her answer
- probably with a loud sigh
- “fine, yes I would still love you if you were a worm”
- “now stop acting stupid” (affectionate..?)
Yuuta:
- again, very confused
- but after a moment of confusion, he smiles and tells you yeah
- “of course, I’d love you no matter what!”
- “I’d just have to keep you extra safe! ☺️”
- if he could love Rika as a curse, then yeah, he can love you as a simple lil worm
Gojo:
- laughs
- you probably will not get an actual response unless you diligently persist with the question
- if you ask enough times, he’ll finally honor you with a response
- “you’re already so weak, butttttt, yes I’d still love you if you were a puny little worm😁”
- he’d totally build/buy you a little wormy mansion
- trust me babes you’ll be living the wormy life of luxury
- tbh might buy it anyways just to show you how much he does love you 💙
Nanami:
- very caught off guard by the question
- “…did Gojo come up with this?”
- if you tell him that no, no one put you up to this, you just want to know if he’d still love you if you were a worm...
- he’d say no
- like Megumi, he would spend time assuring you of his love for you
- he just… is far too rational of a man to love a worm
- he really hopes that you understand
Geto (pre genocide era):
- will 100% go along with it
- he’ll humor you the whole time
- “of course baby, you’d be the cutest worm ever”
- btw you have a new nickname now
- your contact in his phone has been changed to “my wormie 🪱”
Geto (genocide era):
- no
- worms are not sorcerers
- worms are lower than monkeys
Toji:
- literally will not even give you an answer
- he’ll just quietly look from you, to his existing curse-worm, back up to you with calculated blinks
- “…is that a yes?”
- “you’re fuckin’ stupid” (affectionate) “yes.”
- now toji has two worms :)
Choso:
- ???????????
- pls oh my god don’t do this to him
- he doesn’t get it
- he’s 150yo bro he doesn’t GET IT
- “..am I supposed to say yes?”
- i think he MIGHT go along with it after a second (few minutes) of thought
- “you can love me as a half-curse, so yes, I think I could love you as a worm.”
- he’d totally be cheesin’, so proud of himself for that answer
- and when you smile at his affirmation?? bro his heart’s gonna burst
Sukuna:
- “I don’t even love you now”
- again he is way too old to understand this
- ngl he probably would say no
- however, you’ve wormed (haha, get it?) your way into his heart
- so if you pout too much, he’d probably be very huffy about it but he’d agree to “keeping you by his side” if you were a worm
- you could just hang out in his domain with him all the time :)

— DARK SPRING
pairing. yuuta okkotsu x fem!reader
summary. yuuta is having relationship troubles, and he isn’t sure how to go about it.
tags. 18+, established relationship, college au, mentions of blood, murder, yuuta pov, mentions of sex
notes. been in a yuuta mood ever since the cockroach chapter, and @vamptomura just gets me when it comes to him. this is just me procrastinating on my other writing. this isn’t edited btw I literally wrote this in like two hours rn.
wc. 2k+
“Where were you? I stopped by the shop to bring you food, but they said you weren’t in today.”
The door squeaks softly on its hinges as you slowly close it behind you. Once the door is fully closed and locked in place, the doorway remains tensely silent. Yuuta watches as you turn to him fully with slightly widened eyes, lips opening and closing as you struggle to answer.
He wouldn’t admit it out loud, but he finds himself relishing in the upper hand that he has over you right now. Just this morning you had told him on your daily phone call that you’d be busy at work later tonight. That usually meant you two wouldn’t see each other until the next day, but you’ve been so distant lately that Yuuta’s been yearning for you more than usual. He ached to see you, even if it was just picking up food from your favorite restaurant and dropping it off at the bookstore. It’s still packaged and bagged, now sitting cold on your kitchen counter.
You weren’t at work when you said you’d be, and now you’re unsure of what to say. He’s caught you in your lie before you even respond, but Yuuta files it away at the back of his mind. Instead, he gives you an out. He smiles gently and takes your backpack from you to lessen the weight on your shoulders. “Did you get the days mixed up, angel?”
“Y-yes, I guess I did. Sorry, I was studying at the library.” you reply carefully, giving him a hesitant kiss on the cheek as you step further into your apartment. “I’ve just been a little stressed about the midterm coming up.”
Just like that, Yuuta eases you into a sense of relaxation like the good boyfriend that he is. He ruffles your hair and reheats your takeout for you as you go take a shower, which is something you used to do before bed and not right after coming home. It may be minuscule to others, but he’s always been observant of you. It’s how he keeps you happy and something you’ve appreciated about him, as he’s always attentive to you and your needs.
It’s also the reason he’s noticed that it’s not the first lie he’s caught you in lately. You’ve been a sneaky little thing; saying you’re someplace when you’re actually not, claiming you’ve gone to sleep but he sees you’ve read his text at 2am, staying out later but not informing him where, no longer asking him to accompany you to the laundromat, and taking more showers than usual.
He pretends as if everything is alright, but there’s doubt stirring in his gut.
A misstep could cause an explosive argument and drive you away from him. It’s an outlandish thought brought forth by his deep affection for you, as you’re not that type of person at all. You’re level-headed, patient, sweet, kind, and just the most beautiful girl he’s ever laid eyes on.
He can’t lose you.
So what he does instead is he begins to follow you around. He watches as you enter the History building, where your night class is, and he remains outside for some time. He gives himself half an hour before he decides to go in, but the time mark doesn’t even pass before you walk out of the building. Through the side door. You’re not not carrying your backpack or books on you, and he wouldn’t have even noticed your dark clad figure if he hadn’t been intently watching.
It’s easier to follow you through the dark night when you’re on campus, as there’s still several other students roaming about and allowing him to blend in amongst them. Yet, you eventually leave the university and take to the quiet streets. Yuuta curses inwardly and has to create a larger distance to remain undetected. It works in your favor as he eventually loses track of you, and he has to head back to his apartment.
It’s not until much later, laying restlessly awake on his bed and staring at your fake goodnight text that he wonders what you were even doing. He could’ve headed back to the History building and waited there or asked your classmates where you were, but he told his own lie to even follow you in the first place, telling you he was spending the night with Toge.
And as much as he’d love to follow your every move, he also has classes, a job he can’t ignore, and is a teacher's assistant to a pretentious man with a keen attention to detail. I’m following my girlfriend around to find out what she’s hiding, is not a valid excuse.
“Y/N, look.” he’s shaking your shoulder gently, and turns to you in a frenzy.
The warmth of your body spurs him on, and he begins to nibble on your lower lip. You whimper and gasp his name into his mouth, your delicate hands grasping at his button up.
The thing is, Yuuta is stubborn too. He’s tenacious once determined, something that Professor Geto says will get him far in life. So, he calls out of work and follows you closer than he has every other time.
It shines darkly under the moonlight, and it has Yuuta’s hands shaking as his eyes follow the small trail. He follows it to a large dumpster, rusty from who knows how long being unused. His heart is beating out of his ears as he looks down into the dark abyss, but it’s not you that he finds.
He had been so charmed by your flirtations that the news headlines were pushed to the back of his mind. It was no coincidence, then.
Yuuta anticipates your voicemail after several rings when you finally answer.
“Hello?”
“Where are you, sweetheart?” he asks lightly, eyeing the corpse.
“I’m—” you paused, and it’s only then that Yuuta could hear you catching your breath. He turns and sees a small alleyway beside him as a side exit to this lot. “I’m walking home from work. What’s up?”
“It’s so late, baby.” Yuuta sighs, checking the outsoles of his sneakers for any blood.
He can hear it in your lovely voice, and he doesn’t want to add to it.
He stands like that for a few seconds before he crouches down and opens up a private tab on his phone and begins to search away. He learns how to scrub blood and footprints off of asphalt and other various methods to clean up traces. The box of rubber gloves under your bathroom sink flashes in his mind, and he knows that his girl is smart.
Because this isn’t the first person you’ve killed. After that night, he begins to look deeper into other deaths in the area and the timeframe aligns with all the other times that you’ve disappeared from him. Some of the deaths are random, and others are personal. Mainly those who have wronged him in the slightest way.
All this time Yuuta was afraid of losing you, but you’ve been so devoted to him the entire time. So, he devotes himself right back to you just as he’s always done.

☆ Precious ☆
Synopsis: In which Maki finds herself falling deeper for you and questions whether you see how precious you are to her.
a/n: I'm in love with Maki and no I will not elaborate
characters: Maki (jjk)
!tw! none
“Can I tell you a secret?”
Your sweet voice came out like a whisper. She could barely hear it above the shouts and laughter of her classmates and teacher. Looking over she stared in awe at your beauty. Your smile, so sweet that could put any junk food to shame.
Maki was enamored by you. By your voice and laughter. By the eyes that held a thousand universes. By your incredible mind and kind heart. It pissed her off so much, yet little by little she found herself unable to act in your presence. Unable to hide the blush on her cheeks or the stupid little smile that stiched itself onto her face whenever she made you laugh.
She noticed (or more like Panda pointed out) how cranky she’d get if she didn’t see you in the morning. It was like coffee, she was unable to live with it. Without you.
Of course to compare you to coffee was utterly ridiculous. You weren’t a beverage, you were a person with thoughts and feelings. Not something for her to consume and throw away.
No, you deserved so much more.
Staring at you, she gulped and leaned forwards. Her elbow awkwardly placed itself on the railing overlooking Tokyo. The summer breeze blowing gently against her hair.
“What is it?” She asked, equally as gentle. Her heart was pounding against her ribcage. The feeling she felt was nothing like the feeling she got whenever she fought a curse. No this was something more, something different.
Only you could be the cause of this. Of her happiness and sadness.
Your hand placed itself on her cheek. Gentle and warm. Just like the first time.
The first time she recognized her feelings as something more than annoyance. When you came running after her. Her body was weak and bruised, your’s equally so. Tears had swelled in her eyes, tears she realized she never wanted to see again. Your voice so pained as you asked if she was okay, why did she risk herself for you.
You sounded so angry, something different from your normal cheerful voice. But most of all, you sounded so scared. Scared to lose something precious. She was something precious to you. She wasn’t a burden, an eyesore, or a curse.
She was precious.
The day your hands touched her cheek was the day her heart stopped and never beat the same. That day she phoned Yuuta and asked him what was wrong with her. Why did she feel this way? Why did her face feel like her face-planted right into the sun?
His answer came out so simple. So plain and joyful. She could picture his gentle eyes and smile. His voice came out gentle, yet teasing.
“Maki, you’re in love.”
She wanted to strangle him. And she would have, if it wasn’t for the fact that he was all the way in Africa and she was in her dorm. Praying that Inumaki or Panda wouldn’t barge in. Or god help her, Gojo Satoru.
Yuuta’s words lingered in her head for weeks. As she debated to own up to it and call it hers, or discard it and live in silence. Eventually she did and just accepted it. But never acted upon it.
She, for the lack of words, was scared of the rejection. She’s been rejected everywhere she went, from her home to society and the world. Maki knows rejection, like the back of her hand. But to face rejection for you.
Oh boy, she wasn’t about to face it. No way. Not in a billion years.
You were precious to her. Too precious, she couldn’t bear the thought of you hating her.
So she played it casually. At least tried too, because Panda and Inumaki found out quicker than she’d expected. And all Nobara had to do was take a glance at Maki’s face to see the truth.
She couldn’t have you finding out. So she threatened the two (she didn’t to nobara since nobara is smarter than them) And never showed her true feelings.
Yet, she still relaxed under your hold. That stupid little sigh escaped her lips and she couldn’t fight off that dumb smile from her face. God, she wanted to throw herself off this cliff.
But she won’t. Or more likely, you wouldn’t let her.
She was far too precious. (at least she hoped)
She watched you move closer. Until you were chest to chest. Until her hands found their way on your hips and yours on her cheek. Until your breathing becomes in sync. Until the noise in the back became white noise.
She could only hear the faintest of booms from the brightly colored fireworks, Itadori loud ‘wow’s and Gojo’s obnoxious laughter.
All she could hear was your sweet voice. Tender and shy, yet confident and sure.
“Maki, you mean so much to me.”
Your lips drew near to her. Her eyes wide and body unmoving.
“You’re precious to me.”
She could smell your perfume. Tangerines, something she found herself desiring the more you wore it.
“I love you, Maki.”
Your lips touched hers. Gentle and unsure. Your lips were soft.
And before she knew it, her hands were on your neck. Pulling you in for another. Her glasses fogged up, but she didn’t care. Not when you clutched her yukata with such vigor, like she’d fade away, Not when she could feel the heat of your cheeks or the pounding of her chest.
Her heart flew. So high in the clouds to the moon to never be seen again. She didn’t care if the fireworks had ended. Or if her classmates stared at you both in a mix of astonishment and smugness. Hell, even Panda’s joyful laughter and Kugasaki’s grumbles of losing to their bet fell on deaf eyes.
Parting, you both took deep breaths of air. Giddy smiles on your faces. Leaning her head against yours, she stared into your eyes, starry and glowing. Her grip on you loosened just a bit, but not enough for you to pull away.
Through your soft laughter, you asked, “So I take it as a yes?”
Pecking your lips, she chuckled “Over and over again, yes.”
You threw your arms around her and pulled her close. Sharing a sweet, tender kiss. Filled with the same passion as your first under the brightly colored night sky.
As precious as the love you shared.

Gosh, Toji’s and Y/N’s kid’s angst just hard😭
But imagine teen Megumi when a week after his brother leaves the weight of what it meant truly hit him, imagine teen Megumi walking around the park one day and seeing a pair of siblings about his and his brother’s age playing together and before he can shake the thought of his lil brother and him in their place, their parents approach them (pushing a baby carriage) and the image of what your family used to be and could have been takes over him. When later that week he looks up for pictures with his brother and he realizes that from the point Mamaguro came back they become more and more spare till there are none of them.
Toji himself struggles through it too, there are nights where he subconsciously walks to his son room to check on him to find it empty as if had never been used before. More times that he would like to admit he finds himself looking through pictures and watching videos of when your son was still a baby/toddler, from when you were still a family, and he remembers how happy and excited you all where when your son first started to walk, he hears his son call him “papa” for the first time and it stings because it has been years since he called Toji anything of the sort, he watches how bright Megumi’s and his smiles where back then when they played chase together around the house and your son chanted “nii-chan” in between giggles.
And eventually they see you and Gojo with your family at a coffee you used to go together back in the day, and they watch how your and your son’s orders have stayed the same… and how Gojo holds your hand and kisses your cheek lovingly while your son tries to feed your daughter who’s making a mess. And it crashes them to think that that could have been your family instead.
more of the “let’s hurt the fushiguros” agenda?? yes pls! marta, baee, this is soo good!! the vivid imagery of megumi understanding the weight of losing his brother and of toji learning he’s never been fair (not to everyone, but especially not to aiko) at his pursuit of happiness? incredibly heartbreaking, lemme just go sob in a corner rq
this took too long for me to answer and it’s not fully the same as the ask, so im sorry for that ;v;
aiko’s stories: [alt. ending]; [in megumi’s eyes]; [in toji’s eyes]
[how we break masterlist]

┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈
yuuji and nobara rope him into meeting up with the rest of their friends in the park nearby.
nearby my ass, megumi grumbles in his mind as he steps off the bus. yuuji and nobara are being loud in front of him, with yuuji trying to follow the maps app and nobara on a phone call with maki. megumi is sure as hell that they’re lost and that he knows that he should help his friends, but the summer heat is too much and he is unwilling to lend a helping hand to his friends when it’s their fault that they’re milling about and avoiding cyclists in their attempts to locate the damn park.
it takes a confused policeman asking if they’re lost for them to find their way to the park. maki and yuuta are already setting up their picnic blanket, with toge playing around with panda.
“hi!” yuuji and nobara greet, running up to their friends. maki hoists nobara up as the girl runs full speed towards her, while yuuji jumps on panda who laughs and pokes at the smaller boy. yuuta turns to megumi and offers a smile, one that megumi returns before bowing in greeting.
the park’s packed with families and friends alike, enjoying the heat and the breeze of air. the trees line the park neatly and offer amazing shade. megumi glares at the group of friends enjoying one big tree, hiding underneath the wide shade the leaves provide, before glaring at his friends who are buzzing about as though the sun isn’t beating down on them.
“stop with the murder look fushiguro, and come here already!” nobara chides. megumi helps with setting up their picnic blanket, while yuuji lugs their bags and piles them on a corner.
“the hell you brought so much food for?” maki asks, peering at the bag upon bag that yuuji’s not even done piling up.
“snacks,” is all yuuji answers with and everyone takes that as though it is an appropriate reply.
they settle soon after, pulling out board games and card games, all the while snacking and eating and talking. megumi isn’t usually so social, but he’s having so much fun and he feels so free. there’s always been a certain tenseness in their house the moment he left and as much as they pretend that it isn’t there, megumi finds it hard to ignore. so this moment with his friends is like a liberation.
the noise dies down moments later. toge and panda are snoozing with yuuta back to reading a book beside them. nobara and maki are giggling amongst themselves, their hands twined together, smiles and eyes so gentle despite the sweat rolling down their temples. yuuji’s playing a video game on his phone, the sound effects becoming their muted background noise; the swords clashing and the cheesy character dialogues fill in the silence, and megumi thinks how fun it’s truly been.
(megumi thinks of long nights cooped up in a room now empty, lights turned off to fully bask in the special effects of whatever the two boys are playing; thinks of open bags of chips and lukewarm soda shared between the two, grunting and groaning when their avatars fail to complete the quest.
he thinks of aiko’s whining. “megumi stop winning!”
he thinks of his own laughter. “sorry aiko, you just suck.”
megumi thinks of what is lost.)
he tunes out the rush of memories and studies the scenery, watching different people mingle about. there are people with their pets, there are others who are playing volleyball and a different group playing badminton, and cyclists are making their rounds before disappearing behind the trees.
there is so much life in this park. so much to see. but all megumi could focus on are the two boys playing a metre from megumi’s group. they look like siblings and megumi is struck with how much they resemble aiko and megumi when they were still kids; when megumi’s just seven and aiko’s just three. the loud and happy squealing easily escapes their throats as they run around, tagging each other. they’re both so sweaty, their shirts clinging on their backs and their hairs glossy, sticking on their foreheads and yet, they look the happiest.
when the smaller boy says, “nii-chan!” megumi turns away, frantically trying to push away the sudden onslaught of memories and longing. but his eyes land onto a couple who are approaching the boys.
he watches, almost with bated breath, as the boys run up to their parents before flocking at the stroller pushed by their father. he watches as their mother crouches down, wiping her boys’ sweat away with a hand towel she procured from one of the many pockets of the stroller, laughing when they squirm and giggle at her little prodding.
he watches, struggling to smother the memories, but it is futile.
he misses what he had.
he misses the way aiko would trudge up to him, wobbly feet and wide smile, drool pooling at the corner of his mouth. “megu-nii!” he would call, grabby hands turned to his brother.
he misses the way you would scoop the two of them in your arms, struggling to embrace them both as aiko attempted to climb on your torso, little feet accidentally kicking at megumi’s ribs.
he misses the way toji—the man who he was with you; the man he couldn’t be with megumi’s mother—would lift megumi and aiko when they both passed out in the couch after watching series of cartoons to tuck them in their beds, murmuring sweet promises of good night sleep and soft ‘i love you’s’.
he misses dropping aiko off at daycare with you and then being dropped off at his own elementary school, kissing your cheeks in goodbye before running out to meet his friends. he misses breakfast at the quaint diner near their previous house. he misses trick-or-treating with aiko and celebrating their birthdays together, and christmas and every holiday that megumi celebrates alone now. he misses surprising you and toji in the morning, jumping at your bed and squealing giddily when toji tickles them while you watch and laugh before pressing morning kisses on their foreheads and promising either pancakes (aiko’s favourite) or waffles (megumi’s go-to) for breakfast.
he misses life with you and aiko; the life that was taken from him. the life that he’s lost.
when his mother came back, he thought that everything wouldn’t change; that despite he and aiko having different moms, you and aiko would still stay in his life. but he lost you first, and aiko followed. he always does.
megumi teased him for being a mama’s boy, for running to you at every waking moment, but megumi didn’t realize that aiko would choose to leave too.
“fushiguro?” megumi hears yuuta ask, worried face hovering before megumi’s. “are you okay?”
megumi swallows the lump in his throat, suppressing the tears that are scratching at his eyes and ignoring the way his heart is breaking, and says, “yes.”

toji studies the room, confused as to why it is empty. sans the bedframe and the study table, aiko and his belongings are gone. not even the old, beat up couch that aiko wanted in his room was there. panic rises at toji’s throat, thinking that aiko’s been taken, when slowly, like running water, he remembers.
aiko left.
toji stumbles on his feet, collapsing on the small bed as though his heart has been flung and tossed aside and stomped on. this is the fifth time this month already. fifth time since toji forgot that his son left; that aiko’s not even in tokyo anymore but in shibuya.
toji’s never had trouble remembering things, so he wonders why now.
(“you’re denying it, i think,” she said, slim fingers running at his calloused ones, eyes faraway as though she was feeling toji’s own sorrow. “i’m sorry.”
"it's not your fault," toji replied, embracing her. "it's mine." she would try refuting his statements but toji would shake his head, pressing his lips in a pained smile.
let me feel the ache. let me hurt.
and she would stay silent because this is something toji does not want her to fix).
it never really got easier. toji wonders, briefly, if his own abandonment of you stung as painful as this. if you clawed at your heart, knowing something is amiss but being unable to right what is gone; if you’ve forgotten that he’s left, forcing yourself to keep relearning and reliving the pain he left you with.
toji wonders if maybe this is karma; if this is the world balancing itself in an equilibrium. a heart for a heart.
(there will come a time when the pain would patter away and he would be able to think about aiko and you again without feeling like a knife is carving a new wound in his heart; when seeing aiko revere satoru would no longer sting; when he would no longer flinch whenever aiko calls out “dad” and it not meaning toji. there will come a time when both hearts would heal, but it has yet to come.
toji still locks himself in aiko’s room on the days that everything feels too much, gazing forlornly at an old video that toji remembers at every breath. his heart twinges at every boyish laugh that aiko lets out, high-pitched giggles easily followed by your own titters. but that’s not the worst.
this is the worst:
a wobbly call of “papa,” one that was not fully formed but was warbled enough that it took toji’s breath away, heart unable to contain the unbridled joy and love.
“aiko, my son,” toji had replied, pressing the babe close to him, snuggling at his soft head. aiko sighed at toji’s gentleness, resting a chubby cheek on toji’s shoulder.
megumi was jumping in joy beside toji, cooing at his baby brother whose big eyes sparkled at megumi’s uncontained excitement. toji smiled at his other son, ruffling his unruly hair and laughed when megumi tried teaching aiko his name.
toji finally turned to look at you and his breath was stolen once again. oh how beautiful you were, smiling in the purest form of happiness that toji wished he could always provide for you.
“darling,” toji called, beckoning you closer, hands itching to touch you, “my beloved.”
and when you reached out to him too, toji felt like he could eat the world raw.)
┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈
poetic justice.
that’s the only thing that megumi could think of as he gazes at your family from across the shop, eyes locked on aiko sitting beside his sister, a stranger to megumi.
megumi tries not to peer at his parents, but neither have spoken the moment they saw the very people his mother was trying to avoid. she never did say it out-loud, but both megumi and toji knew that she wanted to be as far away from you and your family. megumi had understood, of course he had, but it never really did help the tension between his parents.
what he watches, instead, is the way satoru lovingly clasps your hand in his, pulling your joint hands up to his lips before pressing a gentle kiss on the back of your palms. he looks so in love with you and megumi knows that this is something you dearly deserve.
he smiles at the waitress who arrived with their food, busying himself with his pancakes (one he knows aiko had ordered for both himself and his sister, cutting it up in tiny pieces and feeding it to her), and sipping on his iced coffee (white mocha, just like how you always took it).
he casts another glance your way and jolts on his seat when he meets aiko’s eyes. his brother quirked an eyebrow, nodding his head once in greeting and giving megumi a tight-lipped smile. megumi wasn’t given the chance to respond because aiko’s sister requests his attention once again, tugging at his sleeve and opening her mouth to which aiko chuckles about before feeding her another slice of pancake. aiko does not look up after that.
toji abruptly stands up from his seat, the chair clattering, before walking out. megumi turns to his mother and almost hisses at the sight of her teary eyes.
“mom?”
she shakes her head, smiling painfully at him. “i’m okay, megumi. we’re okay.”

there is something immoral in the way toji covets for a family with you, a family he once had and had exchanged away.
when he finally caught sight of you, something breaks in him. you are so beautiful and in love, toji misses when it was him you are looking at with those tender eyes of yours. he misses you.
he watches, with a stuttering heart, as gojo tucks a lock of your hair behind your ear, hand trailing off to caress your cheek. you lean onto the touch, smile widening, eyes fluttering and really, toji cannot blame gojo for coming to kiss you, almost as though he simply cannot help himself.
then.
then he meets gojo’s eyes. the bastard himself had peered at toji, blue eyes crinkled slyly as his lips stayed locked with yours.
the longing vanished and all that replaced it was anger. toji storms off, unable to see any more of gojo satoru’s gloating.
