I do not condone smoking and you should never take it up for a number of health related reasons buuuuut since we gave Garmadon an addiction to old school hard drugs like cocaine and heroin.
And I rewatched the anime xxxholic and fell down the rabbit hole of the character Yuuko smoking and just looking pretty in general.
Also went down a rabbit hole about smoking methods throughout history so
Garmadon absolutely using a kiseru which is a traditional Japanese smoking pipe at one point.
Samurai irl even used them as makeshift weapons.
Because fuck it the venom’s already ruined my life might as well look cool before I go out.
Garmadon only really quit smoking when Misako got pregnant and Lloyd was born.
He takes the habit back up when he gets banished to the underworld because the Skulkin have somehow managed to get Kizami (finely shredded tobbaco that looks like hair) to grow in the underworld
Even when he’s returned to the bounty and from his trek to the realm of madness he smokes.
Mainly as a crutch to deal with the stress
At least Garmadon takes his smoking outside and tries to mask the scent.
Speaking from my experience with smokers, Garmadon is rapid about no one else smoking.
After Rebooted Kai almost started, but Sensei Garmadon materialized next to him and ripped the pack from his hands.
Wu and Lloyd had both been grounded for touching Garmadon's tobacco while cleaning (yes, he did ground his adult brother)
Once, when him and Misako were dating, he ate a cigarette to keep her from asking for one.

I'm two weeks late as Saturdays just aren't very good days for me in terms of watching anime in general. I was planning on catching up and just writing about episode 3, but this episode was too amazing not to write about genuinely.
I'm not going to mince words about it; this episode just kicked ass. It's easily one of my favorite episodes of the year so far. The first half featured some of the best lighting I've seen in anime for a dark scene like this. It's scary, thrilling, and makes you feel as if you're in a horror video game, not knowing when the monster could attack.
The cinematic aspect ratio change contributed greatly to the change in tension and threat level of the situation and made your eyes solely focused on the screen. I'm not truly familiar with Kai Shibata or Itsuki Tsuchigami, but both of them came together to create an amazing action scene that is complemented by Waki's beautiful and in-depth composition.
Waki's control over the usage of light is genuinely mind-bogglingly great, from creating a lurking sense of danger amidst the darkness to the flashy impact sparks of a monster attacking.
There are so many things to talk about just in this whole scene against the Hiruko. I haven't even mentioned the camera rotation usage. The slow turn of the camera creates a feeling of something creeping toward you with your eyes being naturally drawn to a pitch black background and is a great showcase of anticipation. On the other hand, when the Hiruko attacks, faster movements of the camera emphasize the imminent danger.
The sound design was great for the entire episode, as it has been throughout the series. The quiet ambiance during the fight scene increased the creep level to a maximum, and the impact sounds of the Hiruko attacking remained sharp without being overpowering or unfitting for the scene. The silence when the landlady is sliced by who she thinks is her son is also well-executed, keeping within the established ambiance. It's quick, and the suddenness of it creates a more impactful moment than any loud swinging sound could. However, the great sound design is not to this Hiruko scene. In a simple scene where one of the kids at the facility is climbing up a pillar and falls, the sound of the fall is not exaggerated. Instead, it's a brutal and blunt sound that truly makes you worry for the kid. It's just one of the simple scenes that shows you the consistency of this show in almost every element.
As a manga reader, I already know what will happen to the story. Therefore, I don't have much to say in terms of the mystery setup and questions they have developed in this episode because I don't want to spoil anybody. However, as a manga reader, I'm more than satisfied with what we have gotten in this adaptation so far. It's been a thoroughly amazing experience and has even forced the sloth that is me to write up on this episode, which I was planning to skip and just do a write-up for episode 3. But most importantly, I hope you guys are enjoying it too. If you're curious about my thoughts on the pacing, it's completely fine with me. I've heard some people think it's going a bit too fast, but I don't think so. The way the story is told feels natural to me, and compared to many other anime adaptations, it's near perfect, which is a huge credit to Makoto Fukami. I didn't even really have space to talk about the second half which is simply me trying to tell you to just go watch and please experience it yourself.

As a general rule, a lot of characters who had bit roles in the past got more bit roles due to episodic nature of the show. Because ZEXAL had a huge budget, a lot of high profile actors are here for bit roles as glorified cameos.
I finally got to watch Kizuna, and honestly, I was surprised how much I enjoyed it! After reading the novelization, I wasn’t expecting much, but the movie really is a different experience. (I feel like the novel kind of tends to emphasize the wrong things?)
But anyway, while I was watching, I kept an eye out for background details and easter eggs, and I listed the ones I thought were the most interesting:
The first thing is the text conversation that Koushirou and Taichi have early on in the film, which gives a little extra context regarding the high-tech goggles.
(This screenshot has a few lines cut off, but I went with it because the more complete one is so zoomed out it’s almost illegible.)
Koushirou: There's a switch on the side of the visor. Press it for 5 seconds to turn it on. It locks on to the opponent by detecting your line of sight, so it's not complicated to use.
Taichi: Thanks
Koushirou: It's a prototype, so I can't guarantee that it'll work perfectly. You took it without permission in the first place, so use it at your own risk.
And don't be careless with it and break it.
Make absolutely sure you return it to the company.
Taichi: Takeru and I made it to Nakano.
We'll stand by until the Digital Gate opens.
Koushirou: Got it.
Koushirou: Thank you for helping send Parrotmon back.
You didn't break the goggles, did you?
Please bring them back.

Next, there’s Koushirou’s contact list. The first time it’s visible, most of the people listed are international Chosen, but a few of the names are new, as far as I know. Maybe they’re some of the kids they showed in 02 but never named?
A few minutes later, Koushirou brings up another section of the list with a bunch of Japanese names, none of which I recognize except for Yamato, Ken, and Miyako.
I’m assuming that all the people on the list are supposed to be Chosen, so I took a stab at translating the names:
Most of them don’t look familiar, but some do share a given name or a surname with a character from another part of the franchise. I would assume it’s a coincidence, but “Kai Urano” makes me wonder, since it’s only one character away from “Kai Urazoe.”
----------
This screen doesn’t require any translation, but it is interesting and a bit weird.
It says at the bottom of the screen that 306 Chosen have gone into comas, but the smaller text on the map lists a “number of victims” at each location that’s in the hundreds or thousands. It doesn’t make much sense, but there’s enough attention to detail in the screens shown in the background in this movie that I don’t believe that the numbers are random junk.
My best guess is that the map is listing the number of potential victims, i.e. the number of Chosen living in each region, plus their gender ratio (?) for some reason. I’m not entirely sure, though, because unless my math is way off, the numbers given here only total a little over 8,000 people, and even without Africa, the Middle East, or South Asia, that’s nowhere near what it should be in 2010.

There are a couple of interesting things in the article about Menoa that Yamato reads at the archive.
The first is just a little bit of extra characterization. According to the text, Menoa originally planned to major in biology, which is obviously not what ended up happening. (Losing Morphomon really derailed the poor woman’s entire life...)
The other thing is more of a setting-related detail. When I read the novel, I assumed that Morphomon being in the photograph was an accident, but it turns out that not only were the two deliberately posing together, the caption actually identifies Morphomon as her “partner Digimon.”
That seems unlikely for an article from 2002, back when the Japanese Chosen Children were still trying to hide the Digimon from everyone. I guess it could work if the article were from 2003, if you assume that the public was much more aware of Digimon after they started appearing all over the world in 02?
(I don’t think there’s any way to make it fit with tri, though.)

working more on Mai Kai
the older sister of Yuuki and Yuuko or the Yuu twins.
So I’m thinking that Lucifer and Diavolo never knew that Mai was ill and needing help because she only just started to show signs of her illness just recently, (And I haven’t decided her illness yet I want to more research first) But Barbatos knows. Barbatos and Mai had a conversation about it before she went with Mammon to the House, Mai requested to announce it herself when everyone was present but then the issues began between the brothers. So her announcement about her illness got put off until one day she just couldn’t leave a bed for about a day because of how weak and tired she is after all of the moving and being dragged around. I think this would be when everyone goes to the castle for the exchange party.
I was looking at your Naruto OCs and was wondering do you have headcanon voices for them?
mmm not exactly, I’m not really good at searching voices.... One of the options for male japanese voices in the naruto game shinobi striker sounded very good for me for genin Kai though, but i cant find a way to show that... rip
for yuai.....hm..... idk.... idk about voice exactly but I think Yuai’s way of speaking would be very close to Yuuko’s from Nichijou LMAO
