(Turn your brightness up, it looks better that way!!)
🥀🌸Adachi Yuto Limitless Aesthetic🌸🥀
“Baby I don’t want nobody but you”
“You’re the only one who’s allowed to take my heart”
- Limitless, NCT 127
I’ve been in love with this song ever since I first heard it! It’s such a great song, and something about it just clicks with me; I also really like the lyrics. If you haven’t heard it, go give it a listen! Also, stan NCT! (and pentagon duh lol)
I finally somewhat got over my disowning Yuto phase, so I figured I’d make a moodboard to celebrate! This song actually reminded me a lot of him when I was having my bias crisis™ (is that a thing? It should be, everyone has them. It’s a thing now lol) which frustrated me then, but now I just find it kinda funny lol.
Anyways, all the pictures in this moodboard are taken by me (that’s why it’s so subpar lmao), except the picture of Yuto of course. I made a little doodle of that first quote in my art journal, so I wanted to put another aesthetic together that’s all mine, since it’s kinda fun to look around and figure out what to take pics of. I hope I can pull myself together enough to make another actual art journal spread and not just a cruddy lil doodle at some point lol. I’m slowly trying to ease myself back into creative stuff.
Hope you like this little aesthetic! And I hope you have a lovely day 💗

Pentagon - Follow (originally by Monsta X)
UM EXCUSE ME?? EXCUSE ME SIR??
Aight look I have to preface this by saying Follow is one of my favorite Monsta X songs. It's an incredibly powerful and impactful song with aggressive beats, choreo and the aesthetic of the video is super interesting to me, like chasing after the gods and snarling to challengers.
So to see this rendition by Pentagon, I truly thought they had captured the spirit of the song. Hui (bless his soul tbh) really did an incredible job rearranging the song to have more slow, intimidating, almost seductive moments. Kino too did an awesome job redoing the choreo to really fit the theme and showcase Pentagon's talents.
On the topic of theme: YUTO KDJSFHKJDFH. Yuto being like "IDK english man I thought they said pharaoh" like bro I feel. But this was a really cool theme, and I'm not really one to try and comment on concepts that take from other cultures because it's always a question of cultural appropriation etc, but just objectively as a performance it was a really well executed theme.
I'm intrigued because these Your Song performances have a lot more props than nearly any other performances on RTK, which is an interesting choice. I suppose it might have to do with the fact that we're in the later stages of competition so every group has to be more aggressive about how they use the stage. With it being a black box stage, the possibilities for space usage, camera angles, and formation is almost limitless.
I haven't mentioned this yet but serious, serious props to the production crew of RTK. Every person in scenic crew, costuming, makeup, lighting, sound, you have all worked so hard and I can see the effort. In every camera turn when the scenery changes, I know that's the crew running full speed to change things in a very short period of time. So my appreciation and adoration to that crew.
Anyways, back to the concept execution. Costuming I think could have been a bit more interesting and aggressive but the stage was already a lot so I think Pentagon choosing a bit simpler was probably for the best. Actually, in my opinion, it was still a little much. I would have personally really stripped them down to the basics and then used more makeup (gold dust, shimmer, kohl lined eyes) to give the illusion of living in the Pharaoh's space.
Beyond just the production value of the stage, the Pentagon members and the backup dancers did a phenomenal job. I saw the (edited) struggle the members went through to perfect that difficult choreo and I'm so proud of how they pulled it off. It looked amazing!! And the backup dancers were really coordinated as well! I still see flaws in the backup dancers but they're not the ones being scored necessarily so like whatever.
Again there's some concern for cultural appropriation here so I'll tread lightly but I really thought that the use of arm movements was highly impactful. The necessary skill to create group illusions is definitely something I can see and I know that everyone worked hard to make those movements look as clean and beautiful as they did. There's things I, as the viewer, would personally nitpick but like I'm no dancer so I can't really weigh in on it.
Overall, a stunning performance. Despite the difficulty in arranging, Hui and Kino really paved the way for an incredible interpretation of the original song while also still maintaining the meaning of the song. Pentagon truly is fit for the golden throne of the king (pharaoh).
Score: 9/10
