eughhhh having a long hard think ab mothers in p5 but then i just remembered my idea for a zine ab mothers in nge,,,,,,, kinda wanna do it on p5 instead but also man nge,,,,,,,,,,,,

nge at its core is quite centered around mothers, especially yui, she kind of haunts the narrative too and god its so good. and theres also ritsuko’s mother and i just love her so much and oh my god her story and how she still exists through the mag i in a similar way to how yui still exists through unit 01,,,, and how asukas mother still exists through unit 02.

but also p5,,,,, i mean akechi, futaba and yusuke’s characters are at least partially about having lost their mothers. akechi wouldnt be who he is during the game if his mother hadnt died of course, he would still be a normal kid. he could be happy. maybe if she hadnt died he would end up being part of the phantom thieves. and maybe futaba would’ve been able to aid her mother with her research. she could become way more knowledgeable in the metaverse and cognitive psience. and yusuke probably wouldve never had madarame as even a teacher had his mother still been there. she couldve taught him instead and better than madarame did.

but the thing with p5 is that if these characters mothers had never died, they wouldnt be nearly the same character as they were in the game. their mothers are the main reason for the conflict in their lives and in turn, the reason they became phantom thieves. in the p5 universe, their mothers cannot be alive or else, especially in akechi’s case, the events in the game may never have happened.

in both nge and p5, mothers haunt the narrative and its characters. most of gendo’s actions are just a desperate attempt to bring yui back and reunite them. most of shinji’s actions are also due to an instinctual desire to be with his mother. wakaba’s research on cognitive psience is the main reason shido was able to know so much about the metaverse and manipulate akechi to do what he learned from that research. naoko created the magi and put herself into it and then died to her own selfish actions. yusuke’s mother created one of the most famous japanese paintings and died to madarame’s selfish actions and then had not only her work taken by madarame, her own child. and lilith is the mother of all human life. she’s also rei and the evas

It's great that after more than 10 years, "Two Shots" and "All or nothing" were finally made into OVAs in 2018.

There's also an original mini drama story written and directed by Shigeru Chiba (Kazuma Kuwabara VA). Part 1 was released in the Music Battle Edition 2 (1994), and Part 2 in the Yu Yu Hakusho Memorial CD BOX (1995). The cast is Yusuke, Kuwabara, Hiei, Kurama and Botan.

"Yu Yu Hakusho Special Mini Drama ~ The Hungry Warriors" (Part 1 & 2)

This is a drama that makes fun of the lack of eating scenes in anime, where Yusuke and his friends argue over what to eat. Among them, Hiei wants to eat monjayaki. In the manga, when Hiei melted Bui's axe, Kuwabara says "It melted like chocolate''. In the anime, his line was changed to "It melted like monjayaki''. So, it was probably an in-joke between the voice actors, using the mini drama as reference.

I don't know if there's any translations. I remember someone told me they were translating the mini drama, but I haven't heard anything since then. Does anyone know if there's any translations?

日本の現代ジャズシーンにおける存在感と重要度が年々増しているトランペット/フルート奏者兼プロデューサー島裕介が主宰するプロジェクト"Silent Jazz Case"の最新作がリリース。3年前にリリースされた前作の『Silent Jazz Case 4』はSpotifyにて160ヶ国以上で再生され、再生回数は100万回を超えるヒットとなった。そして今作も前作と同様、ピアノに河野祐亮、ベースに杉浦睦、ドラムに大津惇を起用しており、強力リズム���クションを率いての激熱ジャズが期待出来る。島裕介のトラックメイカーとしてのサウンド作りに焦点を当てた別プロジェクト WindLoop Case でのローファイヒップホップ感も今作ではバンドサウンドで表現されている。

o novo comissário.

o mais alto posto da hierarquia policial de kaytan é o cargo de comissário, uma posição de respeito e muita responsabilidade; portanto, quando a notícia da aposentadoria de kim jooheon veio à tona, uma guerra ideológica começou a crescer nos meios ativistas da ilha. desde que esse cargo existe, primeiramente foi ocupado por um oficial japonês, depois um coreano e desde então kaytanos descendentes de uma das duas etnias, sempre heterossexual e nunca uma mulher.

em 2024, começou a haver grandes esperanças de mudar esse quadro já que lin qing, uma mulher de descendência chinesa e wisit pongpanit, um policial assumidamente homossexual estavam ambos na concorrência por essa vaga com projetos extensos e visionários sobre como mudar a polícia, melhorar sua imagem com o público, ser mais transparente e inovar ao ser eleito ou a primeira mulher comissária de polícia ou o primeiro lgbtqia+ a assumir um cargo tão importante.

contudo, o forte candidato dos policiais de direita de kaytan yusuke nakamura, kaytano de nascença e com promessas de manter o trabalho do antigo comissário, foi quem realmente ganhou a disputa nesta terça-feira (30/04). ativistas de todos os cantos se demonstraram extremamente indignados com a escolha de outro oficial padrão que promete apenas manter um trabalho que não agrada em nada aos moradores da ilha há algum tempo; há de se considerar também que em recente publicação de um jornalista confiável o mesmo afirma que “fontes internas” alegaram que a nomeação de lin qing e wisit pongpanit nunca passaram de estratégia de marketing para fazer todos acreditarem que tinham uma chance, quando na verdade jamais sequer pensaram na possibilidade de deixar qualquer um dos dois ganhar.

acordando com essa nova matéria publicada, uma pequena parcela de protestantes tem sido vista com cartazes e gritos de repúdio a polícia em frente às delegacias principais de cada região; a revolta apenas cresceu quando os policiais foram instruídos a conter os protestantes mais eufóricos com bombas de efeito moral e força bruta se necessário. em meio a todo esse caos, a coroa de kaytan afirmou que sua equipe de investigação de corrupção pertencente a guarda real irá averiguar a situação do artigo.

nesta quinta-feira (02/05), yusuke nakamura assume oficialmente o posto de comissário da polícia de kaytan em uma cerimônia a ser realizada no auditório real que fica localizado próximo ao palácio às 10h; por medo de protestos, a força policial no local foi dobrada e está equipada e preparada para lidar com quaisquer eventualidades.

esse é o momento para aqueles personagens ativistas provarem o seu ponto. como dito no texto, alguns protestos aconteceram e seus personagens podem comentar sobre isso a vontade e se quiserem também podem considerar que estavam lá! o que vai acontecer com eles durante fica a critério de vocês. 

selfparas não são obrigatórios, mas aos personagens que quiserem se envolver nós super encorajamos que também utilizem isso para desenvolvimento!

aos personagens que trabalharem como jornalistas, detetives, policiais ou outros cargos que possam se envolver mais diretamente no plot, vocês podem ficar a vontade para criar seus headcanons sobre a situação, qualquer dúvida venham conversar com a gente sobre o que seria possível ou não.

nessa quarta-feira (01/05) inclusive já tem protestos rolando porque foi o dia que a matéria foi divulgada para o público. lembrando que algumas ruas vão ficar mais caóticas e com o trânsito parado por culpa disso, além de que com os ânimos a flor da pele acidentes podem ser mais frequente e algumas pessoas podem se aproveitar da bagunça. também fiquem a vontade para incluir isso no dia dos seus personagens!
