one fine day, eames learns the phrase “lean mean fighting machine” and refuses to call arthur by anything else for a good month.
obviously, he aims to woo arthur but fails by a mile cause OF COURSE the only word arthur zeroes on is “mean” and refuses to meet the forgers eyes in the said month.
safe to say no productive dream thievery was done for a total of thirty days

Hi Fia! I truly hope all is well! As we wait patiently for a new installment in the Psycho Heroes series (and we’re not too much on a cliff hanger which I’m thankful for lol), I was wondering if we can get a hint or sneak peek into the future of the series. I remember you saying that the last fic was the first part of your plans for Psycho Heroes which has me even more intrigued, and I love that you took the time to make them closer than ever! No rush for an update because seeing you work at your pace just assures me that your content will always be above and beyond! But I’d love a hint to tie me over!! -Love and Light, Azula
Hi! Hello! Always a joy to hear from you. And—oh, wow... the future of Psycho Heroes... Thanks for asking. There's so much that I'm dying to share and discuss about the remaining stories. There's at least 10 more fics, plus maybe a spin-off (shh! that's a secret). But what's next in line?
Well, the musical cue is a song called "Cinema" by Floater. As for the fic, we're going to revisit Arthur's background with one of my favorite Inception tropes—testing a new compound. And when things go wrong (natch), it'll be up to Eames to rescue Arthur from his own mind. We can expect a few bamfs, a bit of whump, a fair dose of angst, and whole lotta love. I'm very excited for the day I'll finally get to share this particular story with you all.
Excerpt from draft:
“But why you? Why is it your responsibility to babysit the entire industry all the time.”
Arthur blinks, surprised. “I don’t—”
“You do. Don’t deny it.” When Arthur continues to look confused, Eames starts counting on his fingers. “Look, you test the compounds. You keep tabs on new extractors. I swear to god you’ve got some sort of rating system for clients. And I know for a fact that I’m not the only one whose finances you’ve taken over.”
“I’m not… It’s just prudent to stay informed on what’s happening in the business. And it’s not like… I do have friends, Eames. There’s nothing wrong with helping my friends.”
“No, of course not. But you don’t have to take care of everyone. That’s all I’m saying.”
“This is… Somnacin modifications are different. This is serious, Eames.”
“I never said—”
“Look, it’s just—in the early years…”
Eames shuts up quickly. Arthur doesn’t talk much about his time in the program, so Eames always shuts up to listen when he does, especially since it seems to take extra effort for him to get the words out.
“They… the, um…”
“The Mad Scientists.”
“Yeah. They experimented a lot, at first. Trying to improve access to the subconscious. This was before the Cobbs came up with multi-level dreaming. Anyway. Some of the Somnacin variants they tried… it was… problematic.”
“Meaning what?”
“Meaning, it’s a good thing I was under complete scientific and medical observation at the time. A safety net that those extractors out there won’t have. So, if Gerard is going to fuck around with formulas, they need to be tested. I’m the best one for the job, and you know it.”
Eames concedes the point but isn’t willing to embrace the idea quite yet. “For the record, I hate this."
“Duly noted.”
“People shouldn’t just be mucking about with this stuff.”
“Yusuf does it.”
“Yusuf is a genius. Mostly.”
“So is Gerard.”
“Debatable.”
“It’ll be fine.”
“At least let me go in with you.”
“I’m not comfortable with that.”
“Arthur.”
“It’s not because I don’t trust you. Please tell me you know that.”
“I do.”
“It’s just that I can’t be sure how I’ll react. I’d rather not take any chances.”
“You’d never hurt me.”
“I love you for believing that. But that’s a risk I refuse to take.”
