Personal pet peeve: adaptations where Ariadne is scared or freaked out the first time she sees Dionysus' madness. I mean for one it feels kinda weird and gross but also you think Dionysus wouldn't marry someone who was 1000% down with all his faces?? you think the Lady who danced in the minotaurs labyrinth wouldn't be able to handle her hot malewife husband who goes feral every now and again??? boring!! it's just boring!

[Leaving]
I have so many questions about the story of Ariadne’s abandonment on Naxos like:
1. On one hand I get not wanting to marry the daughter of the guy who’s sacrificing your people to the cowboy that lives under his castle (even if you originally promised her), but Theseus then marries Ariadne’s sister?? Is it because in some stories Ariadne is running the labyrinth while Phaedra’s mostly not involved or
2. Did Phaedra say nothing on the boat/Naxos before ditching her sister to become Queen of Athens. I desperately want to know what’s their siblings dynamic and if they consider the Minotaur a brother or a monster
3. What is going on in Naxos at this period in the mythos. Was it inhabited by people? Were there only cats and wandering gods? Like on the “getting stranded on a greek island in a mythic scenario” scale where does Naxos lie if you don’t attract godly notice
Anyway drew more Ariadne my favourite greek mythos girl fr

Ariadne, my sister, wounded by what love,
You died on the shore where you were abandoned.

Theseus is gonna save horse ride a cowboy
had this idea where the minotaur is a literal cow boy and a longhorn, Theseus is a cowboy, and ariadne’s thread is a lasso lmao

I wonder: do you think Ariadne is ever allowed to visit camp to see her husband? I think she deserves to be allowed to do that. You know what? Someone should write a Valentine's Day story about that. Ariadne coming to visit her husband on Valentine's or something. I just think it'd be fun. Also, it'd be nice to see Dionysus and his wife interacting.

Also I am still laughing about Matt's answer for Essek in a different person's body being someone who has a lower profile so he can do his research. Validation for me personally 😌

Current author drama aside, to be honest, I'm giving Greek Myth retelling's a break. However, if someone wants to recommend something not written by a racist or fake feminist, and that includes any of the following, I'd be open to it:
-Good Ares and Aphrodite rep.
-Dionysus and/or Ariadne content
-Odyssey related shenanigans

«It presents a well-known song, the French ballade titled En la maison Dedalus (In the house of Dedalus). The large red circle in the centre represents the mythological figure Ariadne, who is a prisoner in the house of Daedalus. The music and the lyrics are written in a circular form, spiralling around the central figure, locking her up within the song. As the text is not presenting in a linear format, the reader has to physically turn the book around in their hands in order read the music. The reader will ultimately end up turning the book in time with the music, watching the lyrics swirl around the prisoner, and creating a rhythm with the movement. This is an example of how illustration and typography can be used to add a physical experience to the book, and create an extra layer of understanding.»

I want my art to be Hozier-coded not in a ‘ooh bog man’ way, but in a ‘discussing important socio-political concepts in a beautiful and incredibly meaningful way while using a long history of other meaningful media to express such concepts even to the extent of taking media that may not have originated for that purpose and using it to further illustrate one’s point for the sake of one’s audience’

one fine day, eames learns the phrase “lean mean fighting machine” and refuses to call arthur by anything else for a good month.
obviously, he aims to woo arthur but fails by a mile cause OF COURSE the only word arthur zeroes on is “mean” and refuses to meet the forgers eyes in the said month.
safe to say no productive dream thievery was done for a total of thirty days
