On the first one that we showcased here, we see "Happiness is welling up in him, because Yuuri really came to St. Petersburg" and Victor with an indescribable facial expression is depicted. The next shot is of Victor waving his hand and we read "he's so happy that his brows are knitted together a bit" and "A really big smile, please! With 'At last, we can skate together!!' meaning..." Face of Victor, who greets Yuuri is full of emotions. The left bottom image is the layout corrected by Hiramatsu Tadashi - we see Victor's face really bursting with happiness. The last cut of the show is a big smile, full of anticipation towards skating.

“As we’ve shared with our fans more and more candidly over the years, I was rather shameless in the early part of our courtship.”

He let his lips quirk at Phichit and Otabek’s slightly muffled laughter, and Yuuri’s cautious smile.

“Your ‘Yuuri on Ice’ Free Program is a very taxing one, and right after the first training session during which I joined you for successive run-throughs of it – with the full jump layout in addition to max difficulty on the step and choreo sequences – I made a big show of collapsing right outside the entrance to Yu-topia. I then begged for you to help me up the stairs to my room. You were so attentive and sweet that, naturally, I couldn’t resist the temptation to milk this opportunity in the following weeks.”

With only a brief flicker of guilt (what else was he supposed to have done?! Desperate times, as they say…), Viktor kept his eyes glued to the page and continued reading.

“At strategic points over the next month or two, I may have played up my fatigue, or orchestrated a few sympathy-induced falls when feeling particularly touch-starved. However, there were a few hints that cropped up now and then to suggest that you knew about my deception. And yet, you appeared to have no problem indulging me, anyway, practically carrying me every time that I whined about my pitiful stamina, or my achy knees.”

He looked up. Yuuri’s cheeks were charmingly pink, and Viktor’s fingers itched to poke at them.

“So, that being said, anata: did you know about my little charade, back then?” he asked, already aware of the answer but eager to see his love’s reaction, nonetheless. “And if so, why did you let it continue?”

Yuuri began to scratch the back of his neck, his flush growing even rosier.

Viktor nearly cooed.

How was he so cute?!

Even after over two years of marriage and four-and-a-half as a couple, Yuuri still grew adorably embarrassed around some of the particulars of their early beginnings.

His spouse gave a tiny cough and kept his gaze affixed to the table they were seated at.

“Maybe not from the very beginning, but eventually? Yes, I knew,” he responded, and from the slight upturn of his lips, Viktor could tell that he was reminiscing. “And you know exactly why: your little scheme started before we officially began dating, so it gave me an excuse to be close to you and to take care of you, for a change.”

Yuuri glanced at him and his face changed, as if he’d suddenly realized what he’d said.

“Not that you had asked to be taken care of, in so many words…but I liked having the roles reversed, so to speak, at least for those brief exchanges,” he went on, without a trace of levity. “You were doing so much for me, and it felt nice to be able to make sure that you were ok, too.”

The subsequent awwww’ing was somewhat drowned out by the way Viktor proceeded to half-stand and envelop him in an eager hug.

He giggled at Yuuri’s yelp of surprise.

“My Yuranya is sooo sweet!” he cried, swaying them back and forth. “And I love that you take care of me. You’re very good at it.”

There was a brief pause, but then his embrace was being returned with equal fervor. “I try my best, Viten’ka. You deserve it,” his husband replied, sounding so earnest that it made Viktor’s heart skip a beat.

“Sit down, geezer! That half-standing position can’t be good for your arthritic back!” Yura called out, the caustic words only slightly intruding on his bubble of bliss.

“Careful, Yura!” he challenged, good-naturedly, after breaking out of Yuuri’s hold.

“Off-season or not, I can still put restrictions on your diet at dinner tonight if I want to.”

Viktor allowed himself a smirk when his student seemed properly dejected at the prospect of this threat.

“Ok, so no lies, so far, right Funmi?” he asked, to which she gave an enthusiastic thumbs up.

I will never get over the fact that the person who I considered one of my greatest friends actually Did Not In Fact Like Me for at least 4 years and during those 4 years deliberately tried excluding me from every conversation with others about my interests.

If a new anime came out and she wanted to talk about it she would specifically only talk about it when I wasn’t around.

When I started talking about said anime she would immediately lose interest and the cycle would continue

It happened like… 5 times 😭😭 like MHA, AOT, Undertale, Yuri on Ice, Tokyo Ghoul, DRAWING IN GENERAL it’s really funny now that I think about it.

I just straight up did not notice the entire time too my ass was so clueless I couldn’t fathom that she was doing this. I only found out because someone else told me 2 years after it started happening.

I will also never forget about how 3 of my highschool friends, 2 of them I knew for 13 years, got into relationships, didn’t tell me for a whole year, and laughed at me when I got confused when they were talking about how they’d all been “going strong” for a year.

I will never forget being considered weird and strange and childish for my interests esp since I was interested in them for way longer than my peers. That I was weird for liking things like anime and donghua even though I grew up watching anime and donghua (I could never beat the Asian poser allegations even though I was the only Asian ) but then 2017 hit and liking anime was cool all of a sudden and multiple people suddenly forgot they called me abnormal for liking ugly cartoons at my big age and were asking me for recommendations

I remember saying things to people and they would laugh but I’d never understand why it’s funny, to this day I don’t get it. I am very good at this now tho with my college friends so my SHS was probably just full of dry people.

The shit that keeps me up at night is also that all my teachers would tell my parents that I was highly distracted and always fidgeting or daydreaming, and that if I just worked on discipline and motivation I’d be a better student even though I wasn’t doing bad by any means from class 1 to fucking 6th form and no one clocked that I had ADHD is WILD

My mom, who majored in child psychology didn’t clock that I had ADHD for 19 entire years and called me drug seeking when I got my diagnosis and started treatment, because I was nothing like the ADHD kids that she worked with who were all 4.

Also the fact that my childhood was lowkey a giant fluorescent sign of it all and no one clocked it is hilarious. I pulled the straps of my shoes so tight they’d rip because I don’t like the feeling of shoes having air in them, I have dents from it like my feet would not get proper circulation because my shoes were so tight. I cut along the seems of all my school socks because if the seem touched my toe pads I would cry. My favourite thing to do second to playing Mario kart and watching 3 movies on rotation (ponyo, cindarella, Monster High: 13 Wishes) was to stack my collection of kid encyclopedias ( 14 at its peak), read them then put them into another stack. I had more kid encyclopedias but I didn’t like them because they had a different publisher so none of the stuff was in the same layout 0/10

This was illustration was intended to for the cover of a magazine -that you can find in the previous link, please go check it out if you want- mentioned at the closing of my one-shot 'Well, Good Luck! (Babe)' part of a series before and during the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics taking pace in 2026. Yuri is supposed to be 25 years, and prior to this, he had long hair and Coach Viktor had the idea to hard launch Yuri's new look and make some noise prior the Olympics. You could say this is only the photoshoot for the cover...

Viktor: Yura, you're so camera ready. Even your scowl looks amazing! Yuri: ...Ugh, I'm never leaving you in charge again. Viktor: But I'm your coach! It's my job to make you look good after a makeover montage.

Explanation of the creative process and chaos leading to this, below:

This idea sat on my Clip Studio Paint WIPS for a long time - I had all the sketch and line art done, though things in my art/creative process and style changed over the past 6 months. So between redoing part of it, base color and mostly rendering I worked non-stop on this for my last 5 days of holiday break.

And the layout design for the cover had been on my brain also, for months (which is here and you can go and give it some love if you want) and I had so processed already (the concept) that I spend an hour doing, at 3 am. all in Photoshop -though I really wanted to do it on InDesign for a full experience (for me) and maybe I will if I decide to print a copy on a nice paper for me-. Anyway, I wanted to share my creative process. If you read this far, thank you!

Edit: @ korruptbrekker’s tags made me think it would be good to mention my style inspiration and that indeed are Korean Manwhas. Specially the artists P (Under the Oak Tree), Spoon (Who Made Me A Princess and King The Land), Roal (Father, I Don’t Want This Marriage!) I'm not entirely sure what I should be posting on Tumblr? This site is very awkward for me and I feel a tad isolated every time I open it. So if anyone has any ideas of what they'd like to see or a better way to be more engaging drop me an ask!

Reality Bytes, Chapter 12: Build Tour

Yuya was very excited to show his counterparts the house he’d built. “So I built this house in, ah, what was it called again… Oh yeah! Crystal Bay, the island paradise settlement!”

He brought up the island settlement from the Settlements menu, and moved his mouse over the lot his build was on. “It’s a beach house!”

Yuto, Yuri, and Yugo stared at the beach house in the map. Then Yuto said, “Yuya, if the way it looks on the map is any indication, I’d say you’re a better builder than you let on!”

“Nah,” Yuya said, “I just had a vision of a layout in my mind, and I had to make it. It was really frustrating at times, too. I will say that it turned out much better than anything I’ve ever made in the past, though.”

“Well, let’s check it out, then!” Yugo said eagerly. Yuya giggled and loaded the lot. As soon as the house appeared on screen, Yuri pouted, “Yuya, you said it was a beach house, not a beach mansion!”

“A mansion is a house though?” Yuya replied, tilting his head. Yuri’s pouting intensified, but he didn’t argue as Yuya began the tour.

“Okay, so let’s check out the outside first,” Yuya said, moving the camera around slowly. “So in the front is basically a playground, as you can see the jungle gym, monkey bars, swingset, treehouse, and toddler jungle gym. Oh and there’s a basketball hoop.”

“What are they supposed to bounce the basketballs on, though?” Yuto asked. “It’s on the beach.”

“Folks can bounce basketballs on sand,” Yuya reassured him. “Oh, and there’s also a little kiddie pool next to the water. And there’s a wishing well, and a crypt, and a rocket ship in the front too.”

“Wh-wha… rocket ship?!” Yugo asked. “Where? I don’t see a rocket ship?!”

“That’s cuz it hasn’t been built yet,” Yuya explained. “The rocket ship kit is right there though.” He moved the camera to a square launch pad with some small crates on it. The launch pad was only 3 squares by 3 squares, very small. Yuto raised an eyebrow. “That’s gotta be the smallest rocket ship in existence…”

“Yep,” Yuya said, “So anyways, that’s the front of the house. Oh, and there’s a barbeque pit in the front here, between the two staircases that lead up to the front door. And then we go to the back, and here’s the back deck!”

His counterparts were rather impressed with the back deck. Yuya grinned, moving the camera around slowly. “There’s a gazebo with a wedding arch and aisle and seating area there. And over here is a skating rink that changes from roller skating to ice skating in the winter. And in between is a hot spring, and there’s a bar and a grill and a place to eat. And you can dive off the deck directly into the sea!”

“Are you sure you’re a terrible builder, Yuya?” Yuri asked. “Cuz this looks amazing!”

“This is the best thing I’ve ever been able to build,” Yuya promised. “Okay let’s go back to the front and go up the stairs to the front entrance, which is actually on the second floor. Here you can see garden pots for planting plants. Obviously. And two rocking chairs. And then through the front door you can see the front entrance, which is kinda like a sitting room. There’s curtains over the front door, and over the arch into the hallway.”

“Why is there an empty painting on the wall?” Yugo asked. Yuya smiled, “That’s a family portrait. It’s empty until someone moves in, and then it automatically shows everyone in the household.”

“Oh, that’s pretty cool,” Yuto mused. “I suppose it’s easier than making a painting of the family yourself.”

“Yeah, it’s a real pain trying to make paintings from reference in the Reality Bytes games,” Yuya admitted. “You can’t just specify that you want to paint a portrait of people, you can only paint from reference, and the Folks have a habit of moving around and leaving when you’re trying to get them into position, it’s annoying.”

“Hang on! Is that a suit of gold armor?!” Yugo suddenly exclaimed, pointing at the screen. Yuya focused the camera where he was pointing and grinned, “Yep! I thought it looked really cool!”

“It really does,” Yuri admitted. Yuto nodded, and Yuya beamed. “Well, let’s continue the tour! We go through this archway to the hallway, which I actually had to get Reiji and Shingo’s advice for decorating, cuz there was just too much empty space. What do you guys think?”

“It looks nice!” Yuto said. “I like the paintings and sculptures on the wall, and the long rug.”

“Yeah, Reiji suggested the paintings, Shingo suggested the sculptures, and I picked out the runner myself,” Yuya said. “And then through this archway here is a family mausoleum, with memorial altars where you can place photos of the dead and stuff to honor them. The two platforms in the middle are my favorite part of this room.”

“Okay, it looks really cool!” Yuto said with a grin. “I like that you have a room dedicated to honoring the dead!”

Yuya beamed, moving through the room to a door on the other side. “And through here is a balcony with planter boxes for plants and a telescope.”

“Ooh, you have garden pots and planter boxes?” Yuri asked, grinning. “Very nice!”

“Yeah, trees can be planted in planter boxes, but not in garden pots,” Yuya explained. He moved the camera back inside, through and out of the mausoleum, and began moving down the hall. “The rest of this floor is just bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom, and they’re all pretty much identical except each bedroom has its own special creative activity. One bedroom has a video station, one has a music mixing table, one has a 3-D printer, one has a candlemaking table, one has a flower arranging table, one has a jewelry making table, one has a soda-maker, one has a woodcarving table, one has an archaeology table, and the last one has a robotics workbench.”

“So ten bedrooms,” Yuri summarized. Yuya nodded happily, “Ten bedrooms, plus the nursery, and seventeen total bathrooms.”

His counterparts’ jaws dropped, and Yugo shook his head in disbelief. “I don’t think even the Tops’ mansions back in Synchro had that many bathrooms!”

Yuya just giggled and began showing off the bedrooms. Just as he said, they were all pretty much identical except for the unique activities he’d mentioned. His counterparts were all very impressed with how they all looked.

“There are so many creative outlets,” Yuto said, smiling at Yuya. “You really thought of everything, didn’t you?”

“Yep!” Yuya said with a grin. “I wanted this house to have absolutely every possible activity we might want to play with, just in case Zarc somehow manages to save enough money to buy it.”

As Yuya began moving the camera back into the hall after showing off the last room on the floor, Yuri frowned. “That’s only eight bedrooms. Where are the other two? The ones with the video station and the music mixing table?”

“Oh, those ones are on the third floor,” Yuya explained. “I’m gonna show you guys the ground floor first, though.”

He moved down to the ground floor hallways, smiling. “Look at all those archways!” he said, moving the camera to the left wall. The right wall had regular doors. He moved to the nearest archway, and said, “This is the photography studio! I was gonna make it an art studio, but then I found out that you can actually pose Folks when taking a photo. Also the digital sketchpad makes paintings faster than an easel.”

“It looks like a proper photography studio!” Yuri said, impressed. “You’ve got lights, a backdrop, a clothing rack… It’s definitely a good photography studio!”

“Yeah, and I can definitely imagine taking family photos here,” Yuto agreed.

Yuya grinned and moved the camera back out of the photography studio and through the door opposite of it. “This is the gym!” he said.

“No, this is a locker room,” Yugo replied. Yuya giggled. “Yeah, but it’s the gym locker room,” he explained. “There’s a bathroom through that door there with a shower, and there’s a laundry room through that door. And through this door is the workout room!”

There was certainly enough workout equipment to qualify as a home gym. There were weights, a treadmill, a pullup bar, a punching bag, and a weight machine. Yugo grinned when he saw all the workout equipment. “Ah, now this is nice! I would love it  if we had all this stuff in our home!”

“You know, I have a gym membership,” Yuya told him. “I’m allowed to have one guest per day. If you want, you can come with me this weekend!”

“Oh, hell yes!” Yugo said happily. “I wanna go to the gym with you!”

“Then it’s settled,” Yuya said happily. “And now, to the next room!” He moved out of the gym to the next door. “Here’s the zen room! Two meditation stools, four regular yoga mats, an instructor yoga mat, and some incense!”

“Ooh, this is a nice room!” Yuto said. “Good for relaxing!”

“Can you set houses as vacation homes?” Yuri suddenly asked. Yuya nodded, “Yeah, we can. I’ll be honest, I was considering turning this house into a vacation home so that nobody can move in before Zarc can buy it.”

“You should do it,” Yuri said. Yuya grinned, “I’ll think about it. Ownward!”

He moved to the room across the zen room through the next archway to the living room. There was a massive TV on the wall across from an electric fireplace, and lots of places to sit. In between the seating area and the TV was a coffee table with a hot cocoa tray on it. Yuri lit up when he saw the hot cocoa tray. “Oh, now I want hot cocoa!”

“Me too!” Yugo exclaimed eagerly. “Ooh, does Reality Bytes have Christmas?” He pointed at an evergreen tree in the corner of the room with a set of boxes.

“Yeah, but it’s called Winterval in XII,” Yuya replied. “In the first few games it was called Christmas, but in later games they started changing the name of holidays so that they wouldn’t be exclusive to one specific culture. They wanted to celebrate inclusivity.”

“Well that’s nice of them,” Yuto said. Yuya nodded, “Yeah, you can actually make your own holidays on the calendar with your own names and traditions.”

“What’s that?” Yugo asked, pointing at a little round table with a drink fountain on it. Yuya replied, “Oh, that’s a buffet table. They’re expensive, but they can make pretty much any food in the game without having to cook them. Perfect for big events where there’s not much time to cook for a lot of people.”

“Oh, that makes sense” Yugo nodded sagely as Yuya moved on to the next room, the kitchen. There were lots of appliances in the kitchen, and a kotatsu table sat in the center of the room on top of a rug, and there was another archway to the dining room.

“Oh, I need this kitchen,” Yuto said, admiring all the appliances. “I love cooking!”

“I figured you’d like it!” Yuya said with a smile. “And look inside the dining room!” He moved the camera into the dining room as he spoke. There were two pet bowls, a cat tree, and a fish tank against the wall. “You can fully stock this fish tank with food fish and keep them fresh to eat, or you could just stock it up with pretty pet fish.”

“Oh, that’s great!” Yuto said happily. “Fresh fish means fresh sushi!”

“Yeah!” Yuya agreed. “And as you can see, there’s also room for pets in this house!”

He moved to the room across the hall from the kitchen, which was the massage parlour. Yuri immediately lit up. “Yeah, I need this room! I wanna be pampered like a spoiled prince!”

Yuya giggled. “Would you like a sauna or two?” he asked. Yuri looked at him sharply. “There’s a sauna?!”

Yuya grinned and moved to the two doors at the end of the room, moving the camera into one. “Boom, sauna! The other room is identical, too.”

Yuri was silent for a moment, then pouted furiously. “Yuya… You’re making me jealous of whoever moves into this house. I want a house like this, with all these fun activities and relaxations!”

“Sorry, Yuri!” Yuya said with a grin. “But you know, there’s a spa in Maiami City. Maybe we could take a trip there for a day?”

“Yeah, I wanna go to the spa…” Yuri said, sulking furiously.

“Alright, moving on!” Yuya moved the camera to the next room over. “This is an activity room where I put stuff that I couldn’t fit into the game room. Specifically the card table and foosball table. There’s also a winemaker in here, and a bunch of wine racks. I was originally gonna put the bar in here, but I needed space for that foosball table and game table, so the bar went out on the back deck.”

“So basically this was supposed to be a grown-ups only room?” Yuri smirked. Yuya pouted, “Kinda… Anyways! Next room!”

Moving across the hall to the next archway, Yuya beamed, “Remember the mausoleum? Well, this here is the funeral room!”

“Oh wow,” Yuto smiled as he looked at the room. “This is great! There’s even a little memorial altar!”

“Yep!” Yuya nodded. “I was having trouble deciding what to do with this room, cuz it was the only room I couldn’t find a purpose for, and I was considering leaving it empty to just be a trophy room or a room for anything added in future packs, but then I found the funeral stuff, and decided to make it a funeral parlor since I already added a family mausoleum. My only regret is that it’s not directly underneath the mausoleum, since I have a special room directly above the mausoleum.”

“Oh, well now we gotta see it!” Yugo said eagerly. Yuya grinned. “Patience, Yugo! We’ve still got two more rooms on this floor to look at!”

He moved the camera to the next room, which appeared to be a library. There was a wall lined with floor-to-ceiling bookcases, two desks with different computers, a chess table, a chemistry lab, a microscope, a pumpkin carving table, and a reading area.

“I want this library,” Yuto and Yuri said at the same time. Yuya giggled. “I know, you two really love reading. That’s why I have two little reading chairs in this room.”

“Yes, I like this library,” Yuri said. “I’ll take the purple chair, and you can have the black chair Yuto.”

“Agreed,” Yuto said. Yuya giggled some more and moved to the room across the hall. “This is the game room! There’s a dartboard, a pingpong table, an arcade game, and two virtual reality pods.”

“Oh, my favorite room right here!” Yugo said happily. “I wanna try those virtual reality pods!”

“I know right!” Yuya agreed. “Wouldn’t that be fun? I mean we already got action fields for dueling, but imagine playing video games in virtual reality!”

“What’s that room there?” Yuto asked, pointing at a door. “Game closet?”

“Oh, no, that’s a laundry room with a litter box for cats,” Yuya replied. “I should’ve made it a game closet though, now that you mention it. I could always move the litter box and laundry machines to the other laundry room. Maybe I’ll do a quick remodel of that room later. Okay, now, onto the third floor!”

He moved up to the third floor and brought the camera through the nearest door. “This is the nursery! It’s got enough bassinets, cribs, and beds for three newborns, three infants, and three toddlers. Also it’s got a changing table, toddler toilets, and high chairs so you don’t have to take the babies all the way down to the dining room for food.”

“No toys, I see,” Yuri noticed. Yuya smiled and shook his head. “There’s a designated play room with all the toys a Folk kid can have,” he explained, moving the camera back out of the nursery. “And across the hall is another bedroom. This one has the music mixing table. And! I think you’re gonna like the view it has, Yuri!”

He moved the camera into the bedroom, and Yuri lit up when he saw the windows on the side. There was a beautiful rooftop garden visible through the window. “Oh, Yuya, that’s GOT to be Zarc’s room when we can afford this house! I need a view like that!”

Yuya giggled. “The last bedroom has its own rooftop garden view too!” he said. “They’re identical.” He moved back out of the bedroom and down the hall, skipping the room directly next to the bedroom and the room across the hall from that one, and going into the next room. It was the bedroom with the video station, and it had an identical rooftop garden, just as Yuya promised.

“Nevermind!” Yuri said. “Zarc needs this room! He can make videos with that view as a backdrop!”

Yuya giggled. “I knew you’d like it!” he said, heading back out to the hall and through the door across from the last bedroom. “And this is the play room! Look at all these toys! No kid will ever get bored here!”

“So why so much kids’ stuff?” Yugo asked. “Zarc doesn’t have any kids?”

“No, but maybe he’ll have some in the future!” Yuya pointed out. “After all, we’re planning on getting him a partner anyways. Why not start a family?”

“True!” Yugo agreed. Yuya moved out of the playroom and back down the hall to the two rooms he’d skipped. Moving into the one closest to the playroom, he announced, “This is the music room! I put every musical instrument in the game into this room, and also a dance floor, a DJ booth, and a karaoke machine!”

“You really did think of everything, didn’t you!” Yuto mused. Yuya grinned in response, “Yep! Everything! Including stuff for the last two rooms!”

He moved the camera out of the music room and across the hall, to the seance room. “This is the special room directly above the mausoleum I was telling you about,” he said. “It’s for seances and communicating with the spirits of the dead. Plus, there’s a crystal ball on the table, and a tarot deck in the cabinet!”

“I love this room,” Yuto said. “And I love how you made it directly above the mausoleum, like the spirits of the ancestors can rise through the floor!”

“Yeah, that was exactly what I was thinking,” Yuya said with a grin. “And finally, my favorite room! The attic!”

“Why is the attic your favorite room?” Yuto asked. Yuya grinned as he moved up the stairs. “Because… there’s a bowling alley!”

His counterparts blinked when they saw the bowling alley in the attic. Then Yuri grinned, “Okay, I can see why it’s in the attic. It certainly wouldn’t fit anywhere else! You definitely thought of everything!”

“Yeah, this house is perfect!” Yugo agreed. “I don’t know why you say you’re a terrible builder!”

“Though if you really are as terrible as you say, I can definitely see why this is your best work!” Yuto added. “You should definitely be proud of yourself!”

“And guess how much this house costs,” Yuya said. Yugo thought for a moment, then said, “Probably at least a million ByteCoin?” Yuri and Yuto nodded in agreement, and Yuya replied, “It costs nearly five million ByteCoin. Which means if we want Zarc to buy it, we’ve GOT to get saving!”
