Pinned Post
Owner’s Info: Owner is 18+, uses she/her pronouns. Main blog is @yumiko-shigaraki, ranting blog is @oc-rants I was going to have it just be for Yumiko but I have more ocs that I know I’ll end up ranting about.
Yumiko’s Basic Info: Yumiko/Yūka is 19/20, uses she/her pronouns, pansexual (with a male preference), and is Tomura’s younger sister. She also has a girlfriend named Katsumi up until the League becomes more well known/around the time the bar hideout is raided.
Things To Keep In Mind When Interacting With Yumiko:
Yumiko is fairly flirty, and not a very loyal partner, so if you want your muse and her to be together, keep in mind that she will most likely not be loyal to your muse unless we are in DMs.
Yumiko is frightened of AFO, if he is your muse she will not give very long responses.
Yumiko shows favoritism towards Dabi, Toga, Twice, and Spinner.
Yumiko is likely to lash out with certain topics, especially if they are about her/Tomura/AFO/stuff like that.
Yumiko does not want to be touched without warning.

Yumiko/Dabi Stuff
Under the cut is info on her quirk, backstory, and rules
Her Quirk(s) (it makes sense if you read her story):
Her born quirk is hypothermia. When all five of her fingers make skin to skin contact with another creature, she can give it hypothermia. The colder her body temperature is, the more deadly the effects, and it can potentially make frostbite form over and around the contact area. Due to her quirk, her normal body temperature is 96°F, and it is much easier for her to suffer a heatstroke, since her body has a lower threshold until it overheats.
Her Quirks Given To Her By AFO:
Regeneration, the user can regenerate body parts/heal wounds at an increased rate.
Resurrection, she can revive a person within a thirty-minute time frame of death, but she is not aware of this quirk.
Increased Muscle, it makes it easier for the user to increase muscle mass/strength. While a normal person might work out for weeks before seeing results, this quirk would cause them to see results within days.
Tiger's Bite, this gives the user the bite force of a tiger.
Shock Absorption, y’all know what this is already.
Blog Rules:
Under no circumstances should minors send suggestive or full nsfw asks or submissions to Yumiko.
If you are an adult and your muse is under 18, the same applies unless your muse is explicitly aged up.
Be respectful to the owner.
AUs are allowed, just specify if that's what you want the RP to be.
Understand Yumiko’s backstory and trauma is not pleasant. Her backstory will be posted with the appropriate content warnings, if they trigger you, do not read her backstory or engage in those topics with her.
If I block you, do not make a new blog to interact with me. This has been an issue on my main, don’t let it be an issue here too.

Warnings: Slight cursing and slight violence with weapons
-~-~-
Katsumi Akuma woke up to the sound of alarms going off. Everyone was rushing around, grabbing their important belongings, and running out the dorm part of the compound. Katsumi gathered all her belongings in a rush. Why are the alarms going off? She thought. I don’t see or hear any sign of attack. Once she had all her belongings secured, she managed to stop someone.
“What’s happening?” Katsumi asked the partly familiar person. “Why are the alarms going off?”
The semi familiar person Katsumi asked had dark brown hair and eyes. She was wearing a black shirt with grey cargo pants, which was Teikou's standard issue uniform. She also had a rare, black leather jacket tied around her waist. The girl looked at Katsumi like she was crazy. She started to push past Katsumi, but then an explosion rocked the compound. The girl paused and looked at Katsumi.
“There’s your answer,” the dark haired girl answered as she joined the mob of people. Katsumi still didn’t know exactly who was attacking, but she took the explosion as a warning to get out of the compound and join the rushing crowd.
She followed standard protocol which was to keep silent and move as fast as you can. In case of an emergency, all residents had designated Teikou compounds to go to if their compounds were ever attacked. The compound they were currently fleeing was the Kyoto compound. Katsumi’s assigned emergency compound was the Tokyo compound.
In most people’s opinion, the Tokyo compound was the most dangerous as it was the closest to the Akuyaku’s base. That’s probably because it was the most dangerous, but Katsumi didn’t mind. She liked danger and fighting. Unfortunately for her, she wasn’t cleared for fighting; however, she would be soon. She was very close to completing her training as a front line fighter. Katsumi huffed as she made her way over to the group that was headed to the Tokyo compound.
The people in the compound were split between each person’s usefulness. The people most proficient at fighting were mostly sent to the more dangerous compounds in the middle of Japan. A few of these fighters were sent to each group going to the less dangerous parts of Japan. The people who weren’t proficient at fighting were split evenly between each group.
The Tokyo group would be traveling with the people bound for the Nagoya compound, as it was on their way to the Tokyo compound. The Tokyo group would spend the night there before continuing to head to Tokyo. Katsumi was excited to go outside as she hadn't been above ground since she joined Teikou.
Another explosion rocked the compound, and their superiors yelled at everyone to hurry up as they would be leaving in one minute. Katsumi watched her compound mates scramble to get into their designated groups. She turned to face her group leader who instructed everyone to start moving.
While they walked through the tunnels to the outside, Kastumi spotted a familiar person. She walked to the front of the group and poked the dark haired girl in the back. The dark haired girl turned her head towards Katsumi.
“Hey,” Katsumi said. “I never got your name from earlier.” The dark haired girl looked incredulously at Katsumi. Katsumi wondered what she did this time to offend this girl.
“Are you serious?” The girl asked. Katsumi laughed nervously
“What?” Katsumi replied.
“You seriously don’t remember me?” The girl asked.
“No?” Katsumi rubbed the back of her neck.
“Are you kidding me! I sat next to you in class and I was your sparring partner!” The girl practically yelled. She threw her hands in front of her in exclamation and let them fall back down to her sides.
“Ooohhh, that’s why you look familiar,” Katsumi laughed. The dark haired girl facepalmed and groaned.
“I still didn’t get your name though,” Katsumi said.
“It’s Yumiko Mizuki,” Yumiko replied.
-~-~-
As the group neared the Nagoya compound, they came across some Akuyaku goons. Some of the younger fighters, such as Katsumi, wanted to take the group out, but their superiors said it would alert the Akuyaku to where the compound was. So, the Teikou group scurried around the Akuyaku goons and made their way into the tunnels of the Nagoya compound.
Closer to the middle of the compound, they were stopped by two guards with makeshift masks on their faces. The group separated in two and went in different directions. The Tokyo group was brought to a secluded dorm area in the compound and were told not to leave unless told so by another soldier.
The dorms were set up as twin size bunk beds in rows covering the whole room. There were two bathrooms on opposite sides of the room. One for males and one for females. Both bathrooms had changing stalls, toilets, showers, and sinks. Before the guard could leave, Katsumi stopped them.
“Why do you have masks on?” Katsumi asked. The guard looked uncomfortable and glanced to the side before answering.
“We have an epidemic in the compound and we don’t have a cure for it,” the guard replied. “It’s killing a lot of people in the compound and we are grateful for the new arrivals, even if they come from a destroyed compound.” The guard finished speaking and quickly walked out of the dorms.
Katsumi made her way to an empty bunk and chose the bottom bed. Katsumi unpacked her book from her sniper rifle bag, to keep her entertained until dinner came. Dinner came and went, and Katsumi laid down on her back and continued to read. She was so engrossed in her book that she didn’t hear Yumiko come up next to her bed. She bent down next to Katsumi’s ear.
“Boo!” Yumiko yelled. Katsumi flailed her arms and legs, book still in hand, and somehow fell off the other side of the bed. She picked herself off the floor and looked at the book on the ground.
“What the fuck, Yumiko!” Katsumi exclaimed. “You made me lose where I was in my book!” Katsumi picked the book up off the ground and brushed it off. Yumiko looked at Katsumi like she had lost it.
“That’s what you’re worried about?” Yumiko smirked. Katsumi let out a sigh and looked toward the ceiling. Her eyes passed the bunk above her and made it to the ceiling. As she immediately looked back to the bunk above her, she locked eyes with someone staring at her. Katsumi yelped. The person fell back against her bed laughing.
“Hey!” Katsumi yelled. “That’s not funny! You have someone staring at you from above like a fucking creep!” The person just kept on laughing. Katsumi looked across the bed to Yumiko. She looked like she was trying to hold back a laugh,
“It’s not funny!” Katsumi yelled again. Yumiko couldn’t contain her laughter anymore and burst out laughing. Katsumi groaned and threw herself onto her bed face first. Katsumi heard the person in the bunk above her climb down the ladder and poke her leg.
“Are you going to turn over so we can have an actual chat?” the person asked. Katsumi just groaned in response.
“Come on, be nice,” Yumiko said as she prodded Katsumi’s side. Katsumi groaned out a “fine” and rolled over. The stranger who was standing next to Yumiko had shoulder length-dyed green hair with the roots showing at the top of their head. They had dark blue eyes and were wearing Teikou’s standard uniform. They also had a purple hoodie over their grey black shirt.
“Hello! My name is Kazumi Wakana,” Kazumi stated. Yumiko introduced herself and Katsumi. Just as they were done with introductions, their superior yelled at them to go to bed as they were getting up early to travel to the Tokyo compound.
“Well, goodnight you two,” Kazumi said. “We can talk more tomorrow.” Yumiko bid a goodnight and Katsumi hummed in response. She sat up for a second to put her book away, take her shoes off, and climb under the covers. She drifted off to sleep before the lights even went off.
-~-~-
Katsumi woke when breakfast came. She was slow to get out of bed, so there weren't too many breakfast options. Once she had eaten, she went back to her bed to pick up her sniper rifle bag. As Katsumi neared the door where everyone was waiting to go, she managed to avoid her torturers from the night before and continued to evade them for three days. On the fourth night, they were attacked by a group of about 100 bandits who had decent fighting skills. Katsumi was behind a rock setting up her sniper rifle. This is when Yumiko and Kazumi decided it was an appropriate time to try and talk to Katsumi. Kazumi and Yumiko walked up directly behind Katsumi.
“So what’s up?” Kazumi asked. Katsumi rounded on Kazumi with a handgun pointed straight at their head.
“Whoa, ok,” Kazumi said, putting their hands up next to their head. Katsumi groaned and holstered her handgun. She turned back around and continued to set up her sniper rifle.
“So you're not going to talk to us?” Yumiko questioned. “Even though we are right here and you’ve been avoiding us for days?” Katsumi replied with a “yup” popping the P, as she finished setting up her sniper gun.
“Why?” Yumiko asked again. She walked closer to Katsumi and put a hand on her shoulder. Katsumi rounded on Yumiko and slapped Yumiko’s hand off her shoulder.
“Are you guys really doing this right now?” Katsumi yelled. “I can’t believe you two! We are in the middle of a fight and you want to go over why I haven’t been talking to you! Unbelievable!” Katsumi pointed at Yumiko. “You should be up high and have a good vantage point, shooting the bandits with your bow!” Katsumi turned to look at Kazumi. “And you should be down there,” Katsumi pointed to the ground where their group made camp. “cutting up bandits with your sword! But nooooo, you came up to me to talk about your friendship problems!” Katsumi spat the last words out and turned back to her sniper rifle and shot until she ran out of bullets. She then pulled out a knife from her bag and made her way down into the fray.
Yumiko and Kazumi just stared after her and watched her fight until the battle was over. They both silently picked up Katsumi’s sniper rifle and bag the best they could and carried it back to camp.
-~-~-
The next day Yumiko and Kazumi found Katsumi in the front of their group walking with their group leader. “Hey, Katsumi could we talk about yesterday?” Kazumi asked. Katsumi glanced over at them with a scowl on her face and looked back ahead. Their superior nudged Katsumi and gave her a pointed stare. Katsumi looked annoyed.
“Fine, but we aren’t talking up here,” Katsumi stated. The three of them fell to the back of the group. They walked in silence, both Yumiko and Kazumi looked to the ground guilty.
“Kastumi, we’re really sorry,” Yumiko spoke, breaking the silence. “We shouldn’t have tried to talk to you in the midst of a fight. We should have been focused on the battle and because we did nothing we lost a couple of friends.” It was silent for a minute until Yumiko nuged Kazumi in the arm.
“Um, yeah,” Kazumi stammered. “I thought it would be a good idea because you were alone and you had already set up your sniper rifle so you couldn’t move. We’re also sorry for standing about like idiots after you went off on us.” It was silent for a while before someone spoke again.
“I’m sorry for going off on you like that,” Katsumi apologized. “I shouldn’t have done that and I also shouldn't have evaded you after we left the Nagoya compound. It was rude of me. Also, thank you for picking up my sniper rifle and my bag.” Katsumi looked at the ground and rubbed the back of her neck. Yumiko and Kazumi looked shocked. Katsumi looked up at Yumiko and Kazumi.
“Why do you look shocked?” Katsumi asked with confusion coloring her tone. Yumiko and Kazumi laughed.
“What?” Katsumi asked again. “Did I miss something funny?” Yumiko and Kazumi’s laughter slowly stopped as they caught their breath.
“You missed nothing,” Kazumi replied. “We were just surprised you apologized because in class you always seemed so cold and dismissive.” It was Katsumi’s turn to be shocked and then her expression morphed from shock to an apologetic smile.
“So we’re good now?” Yumiko asked. Katsumi nodded.
“Yup, you might even say we’re friends,” Katsumi replied. Kazumi had a mock expression of shock on their face.
“Oh my gosh!” Kazumi said in mock amazement. “Can you believe it Yumiko! We are considered friends of the great Katsumi Akuma!” Yumiko followed Kazumi and fake gushed over being friends with “The Great Katsumi Akuma.”
“Watch it you two, you’re pushing it,” Katsumi growled. Yumiko and Kazumi cowered in fake fear and then all three of them dissolved into laughter.

give us fun facts about yumiko pls 🥺
Oh thank FUCK
Whole post is ooc obvi
No real warnings aside brief suggestive stuff, just putting below the cut in case it gets too long
MAYBE spoilers??
Yumiko’s whole worldview is the whole “nothing is black and white blah blah blah” thing. Yumiko believes every single person has some good in them or some bad in them, you can’t smack “hero” or “villain” on people and say theyre all good or all bad
Yumiko does not want to be a villain, she only sticks around because she’s too scared to leave Tomura until AFO starts taking more control over Tomura’s body. After that she does end up leaving and turning herself into the heroes and eventually joins them for the final battle
She’s allergic to most animals with fur, penicillin, and strawberries
Before she got involved with Dabi she slept around a lot with women who had some sort of mutation quirk (didn’t look human) because most of them didn’t really have skin, so she wouldn’t have to worry about activating her quirk on them
At the start of the series she has a girlfriend named Katsumi! Shes about a year older than Yumiko and has the appearance of a white cat (with 2 different color eyes, one is blue and the other is yellow) she also doesn’t find out about Yumiko being a villain until they lose the hideout and the League is way more well known
Yumiko reads lots of romance novels despite not being super romantic herself
Even at the beginning of their friendship Yumiko would use her quirk on Dabi if he overused his and/or would help take care of his new burns
Speaking of Dabi (sorry, lot of Freezerburn mentions. Pls ask me to talk about them in a separate post I beg) she likes to stare at him a lot, and once they become closer she starts to favor lilacs/lavender cause those flowers remind her of his scars
On her ears she has 4 piercings each, she has standard ear piercings and then on the shell of her ear she has alternating jewelry (on her right ear it goes ball, heart, ball and on her left its heart, ball, heart)
Here’s a pic of what I mean + Yumiko going into the final battle (yes that’s nana’s cape)
Tumblr media
Yumiko is designed to look similar to Nana, their eye shape is as close as I can make it without just tracing, and their hair is the same color
Yumiko has naturally curly hair but she straightens it
Yumiko’s favorite fabric is satin!

had a 3-way tie on yesterday’s art poll, so i ended up doing all 3 prompts as one combined piece
Tumblr media
the overall piece is Gumayusi’s baron steal in the worlds championship finals, the ‘league of legends thing’ option
Tumblr media
“He’sgonna- nowaydoesGumayusistealthe- OHMYGODOHMYGOD!! HESTOLEIT!”
part 2 was Shaw, casting the game as option 2, the ‘arknights operator’
Tumblr media
and part 3 is Cavalier reacting in the live crowd, serving as option 3, the ‘arknights OC’

i guess the constant details are as follows:
- she has dark red hair that fades into a metallic gray color at the ends, always tied in a really messy ponytail
- has tanned skin, violet eyes, and a scar on her left cheek
- wears a red hoodie (extra padding/armor optional), along with a thin button-up school shirt underneath, a pleated skirt, black tights, and combat boots
- she's also got a baseball cap with a metal plate on the front half of it, making it look like a knight's helmet with a raised visor. the ponytail sticks out a hole in the back of the cap, acting like a helmet's 'plume'. a dark bandanna mask completes the look, making it look like she's wearing a closed-face helm
- under all her armor, she's got kind of a thin frame

Ride of the Cavalier: CH 2
[Rated T for crude language and violence.]
——-
The rapid thuds of boots on concrete signaled the arrival of Cavalier at the scene of the crime. Thick, acrid haze hung in the air, as if a massive fire had just swept through the area...
...Actually, given the large bursts of flame visible through the smoke, that was more than likely exactly what happened here. Wasting no time, the red-clad vigilante ran straight into the heart of the commotion, heading towards the source of the roaring flames.
As she ran, she could see the still-burning wrecks of exploded cars littered the streets; that must have been what the explosions were. She passed several small puddles of what appeared to be gasoline spilled all over the ground, almost like someone had gone wild with the hose from a gas station pump.
Cavalier clenched her fist, the wood of her bat giving a muted creak beneath the assault from her knuckles. 'Someone’s wasting gas like this, while some people like me have trouble affording the damn stuff in the first place!' she thought angrily.
Coming to the center of the burning courtyard, she could see a tall figure in a long coat the color of oil, their hands outstretched to the wall of a nearby building; one of the city’s larger banks. A steady stream of flame was pouring from their front, and was slowly melting the stone wall.
Standing behind them were two men that Cavalier recognized as Backdraft and Mr. Brave, two of the city’s local Pro Heroes. They stood in readied poses, but seemed unsure of what to do. Rolling her eyes, Cavalier stepped forward, bat outstretched.
“You there, punk! What the hell do you think you’re doing?” she commanded in her bravest voice. Backdraft turned his head; even though his face was hidden behind his mask, Yumiko could tell that he was shocked to see her.
“Cavalier? Get out of here, it’s too dangerous, especially for a civilian like you!”
Ignoring the yellow-coated rescue specialist’s backhanded remark, she took another step forward, stomping her food.
“Hey! I’m talking to you!” she shouted irritably. The villain stopped what he was doing to crane his neck backwards to look at her. “I’ll ask again; what the hell do you think you’re doing?”
“Well, well. Seems another so-called “Hero” has come to stop me,” the man remarked in a bored tone. “Are you actually going to put up a fight, or are you like these two spineless fools?”
The two Pro Heroes stiffened up at that, looking visibly agitated, but still took no action. The man chuckled, shaking his head in a mocking manner.
“Hah, how weak. You both claim to be protectors of the peace, but you’re powerless in the face of my dual Quirks of Petroleum Spray and Fire-breathing. Pathetic,” he sneered.
“Damn you... my Hydrokinesis is normally useful... but it’s hard to put out gasoline fires with water...” Backdraft muttered. Beside him, Mr. Brave nodded.
“And my Hair Pluck Quirk is completely useless against fire,” the masked Hero added with a sigh.
“We have to do something, though! There are still civilians inside the burning buildings!” Backdraft turned to face Cavalier again. “I’d hate to put another civilian in danger, but is it possible for you to deal with this villain while we rescue the civilians?”
“The fuck do you mean ‘civilian’? Are you saying you want me to be the damn distraction while you go off to be heroic?” Cavalier asked in an irritated tone. “You know what? Fine, go. I’ll deal with this,” she said before Backdraft could respond. Readjusting her Cavalier cap, she readied her weapon and charged forward, shouting a battle cry.
“Strike One!” she declared, swinging down with the wooden bat, aiming at the villain’s legs. He stepped back swiftly, narrowly avoiding the blow, but was forced to stop melting the wall. The two Pro Heroes ran past him to find the civilians in danger. Before he could stop them from getting away, another blow whooshed past his head. “Pay attention, or you’ll lose your head!”
“You dare? So be it,” the villain scoffed, raising his hands again. “You’ll regret challenging Flare Stream to a battle.” A blast of gasoline sprayed at Cavalier, and was ignited by a sudden burst of fire a split second later. The girl ducked out of the way, but her scarf caught fire and she was forced to rip it off her neck to avoid serious burns.
“Is that.. is that a scarf? What, can’t handle the cold?” Flare Stream mocked with a laugh.
“Graaah, shut up! The weather’s sucked recently, gimme a break!”
“Hah, well then, if you can’t deal with cold, let’s see if you can handle the heat!” Another river of flame surged towards Cavalier, who barely moved out of the way in time. Before she could catch her breath, yet another attack shot towards her, singing her ponytail as she made an evasive roll on the ground.
“Haah... haah... is that all you’ve got?” Cavalier challenged, panting heavily as she straightened up. “Here I thought you were some sort of threat, and you can’t even take down me, a Quirkless! How sad,” she jeered.
She raised her bat in a readied stance again, then charged once more at Flare Stream. He raised his hands as if he were about to make an attack again, but instead lowered his hands and sprayed the gasoline onto the ground in Cavalier’s path.
“Pfft, what was that? Can’t even aim strai- YAAGH!” Cavalier cried as she slipped on the slick concrete, slamming her shoulder hard. Dazed, she looked around for the wooden bat that had slipped from her grip, seeing it laying a couple of feet from where she was.
Before she could grab it, roaring flames engulfed the ground around her; she was lucky enough to have not landed directly in the gasoline herself, but now her trusty bat hadn’t been so lucky and was being devoured by the flames.
“Give it up, you pathetic child,” the villain taunted. “A Quirkless reject like you could never hope to defeat me when even two Pro Heroes couldn’t. You’re nothing but a wannabe, and that’s how you’ll die. Farewell, Hero.” He raised his hands towards her.
Cavalier’s mind raced for a plan, but found nothing. Casting reason and strategy to the wind, she followed pure adrenaline and instinct by grabbing the still-burning bat from the fire, ignoring the searing pain and hurling her weapon like a flaming javelin towards Flare Stream.
The villain screeched in pain and shock as the scorched wood shattered against his face, showering him in ash and burning bits of wood. Reeling, he instinctively clutched at his face, halting his attack. That was all the opportunity Cavalier needed.
Drawing her metal bat from her belt, she gripped it as well as she could with her burnt hands, and took a deep breath, swinging the weapon with all of her might at Flare Stream’s legs.
“St-Strike Two!” She screamed as her attack connected. There was a sickening crack as metal shattered the bones of the villain’s left leg, followed by the pained roar from Flare Stream himself.
“You...! You little brat!” he growled through teeth gritted in pain. Before he could say anything else, a gloved fist soared upwards into his jaw, his head snapping back.
“Aaand, STRIKE THREE!” The metal bat filled with concrete flashed as it was brought down upon the Flare Stream’s right arm, all but pulverizing the bones from his wrist to his elbow. “You’re out, bitch!”
Flare Stream gave no reply as he crumpled to the ground, having all but blacked out from the pain. Seeing that his eyes were still barely open, Cavalier grabbed the defeated man by the collar, shaking him into consciousness.
“When they haul your sorry ass to jail, remember that you were defeated by this “Quirkless reject,” and make sure everyone knows that Cavalier is just as dangerous as any other Pro Hero, got it?” she hissed into his face, before tossing him back to the ground. She spat on him, for good measure, before pulling out her cell phone and dialing a familiar number.
“Musutafu Police Department, what is your emergency?”
“Hey. It’s Cavalier. I’ve got a villain taking a nice little nap here on the ground, all ready for you guys to haul him away,” she spoke into the mouthpiece.
“Wha- Yumiko, is that you? Are you still going around pretending to be a Hero-” the operator on the other end spoke before Cavalier cut her off.
“Do you want this guy or not? If you don’t come to get him, I’ll drag him back to my hideout and use him as a punching bag,” she threatened in a half-serious manner.
“N-No. We’ll come and get him, then... What is your location?”
“Are you dumb? Look for the big cloud of black smoke, and send someone over, since you didn’t bother to do so in the first place. If you have any deductive skills, you’ll know it when you see it. Bye.” She hung up the phone before the operator could respond.
Following the path where Backdraft and Mr. Brave had run to find the civilians, she arrived at the front of the building where the two Pro Heroes stood, surrounded by a large crowd of people. Noticing her arrival, Mr. Brave waved her over.
“Cavalier. What is the status of the villain? I assume you defeated him, since you’re standing here,” he asked.
“Yeah, he won’t be a problem any more,” Cavalier replied. “I gave him a good old-fashioned ass-kicking.” She hung her metal bat back onto her belt, hissing quietly in pain when her burned skin let go of the bat. Mr. Brave raised an eyebrow beneath his mask.
“Are you injured? We have a field medic here who is treating other civilians for burns,” he suggested. “Perhaps she could help you with yours.”
Cavalier looked like she was about to say something, then sighed; waiting for the burns to heal would put her out of work for at least a week.
“Fine, show me where she is, I’ll go to her myself,” she conceded. The medic was a rather short elderly woman wearing goggles and a lab coat; she was the retired Pro Hero, Recovery Girl.
“Oh, another burn victim? Let me see, dearie,” Recovery Girl cooed, reaching out to take Cavalier’s hands. “Hmm, I see... second-degree burns, hmm? You probably touched something that was still hot inside one of the buildings, correct?”
“No, actually. I was fighting the villain that started the fires,” Cavalier snapped, trying to pull her hands out of the woman’s grasp, but failing. ‘How is she this strong?’ she thought to herself as she gritted her teeth. “If there’s nothing you can do, then I’ll just be going now-”
“Now now, no need to be so impatient. If I can spare time from my job as a nurse to help these civilians, you can spare time to let me treat your wounds. I apologize if I’ve offended you, I didn’t know you were a Hero as well,” Recovery Girl explained. “Allow me to help you heal, now.”
All of a sudden, Recovery Girl extended her lips to plant a kiss on each of Cavalier’s hands. The red-haired girl gave a cry of shock and disgust, before quieting down; her hands were healing rapidly before her eyes.
“Wh-Whoa...” Cavalier mumbled, feeling light-headed.
“I merely accelerated your body’s natural healing process. You seem to have a good natural rate of recovery; a lot of people require more energy to heal, but you didn’t have to use nearly as much,” the older woman chuckled. “Now, run along now, I’m sure we both have other matters to attend to.”
“Uh yeah. I should be going,” Cavalier agreed, still a bit dazed from her rapid healing. Before she could leave, she was stopped by Backdraft and Mr. Brave.
“We just wanted to thank you for your assistance today, Cavalier,” Backdraft said. “Your actions allowed us to save many lives.” Mr. Brave nodded beside him.
“Yes, quite,” the masked hero said, scratching the back of his head. “Is there any way that we can show our appreciation?”
“Yeah, pay me,” Cavalier said. “I don’t know if you guys get paychecks from the city or whatever, but I’m poor and can’t afford to keep replacing equipment that I lose during fights.” She gestured to her burned gloves, her scarf, and the spot on her belt where the wooden bat normally hung.
“Erm, very well, then. How much do you think is a fair price?”
Cavalier grinned beneath her bandana.
-------
Yumiko walked down the street with a spring in her step; back home were four full tanks of gas safely stored away for her motorcycle. Her new gloves fit her hands nicely, her scarf looked awesome as it flapped in the wind, and she had a brand new bat in hand.
And the best part?
There was a bowl of free ramen waiting for her at her favorite restaurant.

Tell me more about Cavalier.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(the first image was made in Code Vein, the second is super fantastic amazing art that i love dearly by @thehellspawnhero!)
Cavalier, aka Yumiko Katsumi (or surname Shanatiel in certain works) is a young woman who wants to be a hero.
in her original setting, she was a BNHA original character, making her debut as a quirk-less vigilante who took cues and inspiration from OPM's Mumen Rider. having put on her hero mask a little bit after dropping out of high school, she's scrappy and quick, and can take a beating, but she's not outstandingly strong or anything. she makes up for the strength she lacks through pure grit and guts. since she's a vigilante and doesn't feel like she doesn't have to set as good an example as official heroes (she gave up on her dream a little), she doesn't hesitate to fight dirty, taking cheap shots as she sees fit.
her tools of choice were two different baseball bats which she alternated between; the first was a simple wooden one, meant for beating down common crooks and the like, while the other was an extra-long metal bat filled with concrete, giving it the heft and weight of a makeshift greatsword. for obvious reasons, the second bat was the one she used for more serious fights, being far more lethal and dangerous. she had a motorcycle that she stole from a gang at one point, but lost it later down the line.
in the fantasy setting, she's an apprentice / adopted daughter to Morgan, another one of my OCs, which is why she has the surname Shanatiel in that universe. she's largely the same, this time wanting to be an adventuring knight instead of a superhero. given the change in universe, she's more okay with killing here, and wields an axe and club as her two weapons of choice. Yumiko Shanatiel plays like a fighter with touches of rogue in her kit, fighting dirty and getting into scraps.
Tumblr media
she gets the distinction of being one of the first OCs i got a fairly consistent design down for, to the point where i actually drew her myself a couple of times.
