Hello, I bring news to METALVERSE Fans.
Nozaki Yume has left Amuse, and all of social media presence removed.
She was one of 5 members of METALVERSE, a BABYMETAL sister group that has had 3 solo performances, and two appearances with BABYMETAL at BABYMETAL RETURNS: THE OTHER ONE and BABMETAL BEGINS - PIA ARENA MM.
She was also a member of Sakura Gakuin before it disbanded.
While this news may be upsetting to some, it is important to know that this is her decision, and to respect that and let her chase her own dreams.
Here’s Some Photos, and may she go on to do amazing things in life, wherever life may take her.

Anime Recommendations for Cthuturu
My great pal @cthuturu recommended some anime, so I decided to post a list! You know, just in case anyone else wants to watch it.
Action:
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
You don’t need to watch the original. This one is the canon timeline, and it’s purely based off the manga. It’s a classic, and it’s the highest rated anime on a whole lot of anime sites. This was one of the first anime I watched, so I don’t remember it too well, but I remember really enjoying it.
Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic
Sequel: Magi: The Kingdom of Magic Spinoff: Magi: Sinbad no Bouken (you don’t need to watch this one)
This one actually was the first official anime that I watched beside some dubbed Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh. It set the standard of anime I watched pretty high, but I found myself laughing a ton and enjoying it. It’s not as action-driven as a lot of shounen though since they do play into a more political and adventurous background at times. But this story is about a perverted kid, Aliboob the guy who can’t get his life together and cries a little too often (like Deku), and one kick girl.
Kyoukai no Kanata
Beware: This contains romance
It’s goe the cutesy elements of Kyoto Animation, but it’s got action too.
Noragami
Sequel: Noragami OVA, Noragami Aragato, Noragami Aragato OVA (in that order)
Beware: This one does contain romance elements
This one is really funny too, and it’s about some slacker god who is down on his luck of being a god.
My Hero Academia
Sequel: Season Two, Three, and Four (S4 is coming in September) Side story: OVAs
Because if you haven’t watched it, you should go do that.
One Punch Man
If you liked Mob Psycho 100, you might like this one. Season two is coming out soon.
No. 6
Beware: This one contains romance elements
But I found those romance elements to be secondary to the show’s actual plot because if I were to choose between the setting of post-apocalyptic chaos vs romance, I’d say the first is far more dominant.
Slice of Life:
Kimi to Boku
Beware: Contains the occasional romance elements
I say this because nobody ends up being canon, their lives are a mundane humdrum, and I enjoyed that it was a friendship driven show. It’s about bros being bros and living out life. You’ve got the twins (who I still can’t tell apart), the feminine one, the glasses nerd, and the foreign loud one.
Gin no Saji
Beware: Contains romance elements
It’s basically about a farming school. It also touches on the values of people and their goals that sometimes aren’t reached and how to recover from failure. But really, it’s just a fun show. This is from the creator of Fullmetal Alchemist.
Barakamon
This is about the antics of a bunch of kids and a self-centred calligraphy guy who originally just wants to get better at his craft but eventually gets roped into the activities of everyday life.
Hinamatsuri
This one is about a yakuza essentially adopting some random esper girl who landed in his apartment. If you liked Mob Psycho 100, you’ll probably like this one.
Violet Evergarden
Edit: they put this where the hinamatsuri gif was, and I almost lost it. HAHAHA
Beware: Death mention
A former cold-hearted soldier tries to discover the meaning of love while writing letters for others. Apparently, it’s quite sad.
Anohana
Beware: Contains romance elements; heavy death mention; can be interpreted as sad
This one is about a girl who died and comes back as a ghost and tries to haunt her former friend group back together since they can’t overcome the grief of their loss. It represents the importance of life and just how much a person can mean to someone else.
Natsume Yuujinchou
It’s about a guy and his cat trying to relieve spirits. It’s a little episodic, but there are orders to the thing. But they’re literally called, “Natsume Yuujinchou San/Go/etc.” which are basically numbers, so I probably don’t need to go over what order they go in.
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun
I’m not calling this a romance because if you wanted some good canon romance, you should’ve gone somewhere else. Nobody ends up with anyone, life is a mess, and how did these characters end up where they are? It’s really funny.
Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou
The humour is hit and miss, but this is usually a recommendation for people finished Nichijou which is a far better-known slice of life comedy. This one is centred around boys and their antics though.
Angel Beats
Warning: Contains romance elements; heavy death mention
They’re all dead. What can I say? It’s oddly funny for a series about dead people, but some people do find it sad.
Violet Evergarden
Romance:
I think I recall them saying that they don’t like romance because of the singleness in life, but I will still put these down here in case they ever change their mind.
Toradora
It’s about two people trying to get into a relationship with each other’s friend. It’s also one of the best romance anime I’ve watched to date.
Akagami no Shirayuki-hime
This one is purely cheese and sugary sweetness. It is a modern adaptation of a fairy tale romance featuring a red-haired (more like pinkish red) Shirayuki (Snow White), a white-haired prince and his retainers, and some scrub they picked off the street that has no eyebrows.
Wotakoi
It’s about two forever alone friends trying to be in a relationship.
Ouran High School Host Club
Some person broke an expensive vase and now has to pay back the debt by working at the host club even though she’s biologically female.
Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai
Chuuni is a term used for people who like to act like fictional characters in real life. It’s also an adorable anime.
Tamako Love Story
This one is also pure cheese and sugar. You can watch Tamako Market first, but this is also an independent movie if you take out all the parts with the fat bird in it. That sounds weird without context.
Your Lie in April
This is one of the most popular romance anime out there, and it’s really nice. I would highly recommend it.
Seishun Buta Yarou
People usually recommend the Monogatari series after this one, but this one is far easier to watch and easier to navigate since it doesn’t have a bunch of seasons and movies. It’s about a plain guy solving these girls’ problems.
Tsurezure Children
A bunch of people try to find their own romances but end up having a lot of odd situations along the way.
Movie:
Anthem of the Heart
This does contain romance being hinted, but they never show it on-screen. This movie is about a girl with anxiety being cursed by an egg. I kid you not, an egg.
A Silent Voice
Beware: contains suicide and bullying
Besides the warnings above, this movie is a coming of age tale about a boy who seeks redemption after bullying a girl when they were younger. It brings up the question of whether a man can ever truly redeem his sins.
Your Name
This one is about body-swapping and a lot of switching between two characters: a city boy and a country girl. They each try to live each other’s lives. I’m planning on watching this one again on Sunday.
The Boy and the Beast
This one is about a boy who ends up being mentored by a beast. Uh... besides that, it’s just easier to watch than for me to explain terribly (but isn’t that the case for all of these?)
Other Anime that I Haven’t Watched (Moe stuff):
K-On
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Hibike Euphonium
Non Non Biyori
Sora yori mo Tooi Basho
Love Live
Lucky Star
Azumanga Daioh
Yuru Camp

Anime I Watched This Summer
Summer 2020 has officially come to a close. It’s fall in Animal Crossing and the trees are beginning to turn. Much like quarantine, I spent a lot of my free time watching anime when I wasn’t stressing over starting college. Now that the school year has begun, I thought it would be nice to reflect on everything I’ve watched!
These Anime were seen between 6/14 - 8/31 (my Birthday!) and are listed in chronological order.
They will be rated on a 1-10 scale; 1 meaning complete garbage, 10 meaning masterpiece. I will offer my thoughts on what I did/didn't like about each show!
1. Bakemono no Ko - 8/10
This was such a great way to start out the summer! I love the dynamic between Kumatetsu and Ren. Overall its a little cliche, but it’s also very wholesome. It’s by the same studio that made Wolf Children (which I loved!). so I knew it was going to be good. My favorite aspect of this movie was its backgrounds and world building!
2. Wan Sheng Jie - 9/10
Oh my gosh! I know that this is technically a donghua, but its on MAL, so it counts. This show quickly became my favorite slice of life of all time. I adore the art style and all of the characters. The comedy, plot, and design blends so well together. Everything in Wan Sheng Jie feels warm and comfy. It’s also confirmed for a second season! After seeing its cliff hanger ending, I’m so anxious for what comes next!
3. Dororo - 7/10
I’ll be honest, I’m a sucker for studio MAPPA. I really liked the historical aspects of Dororo. From the outfits to the ways characters behave, its grounded in the constraints of feudal Japan. I would have given this show a higher score if it was a little more grounded in science. I feel like more time should’ve been given to the demons and antagonists of the show. Our MC was so over powered, which made the final fights of the series more lack-luster. I think its less of the anime’s fault and more because the original source material is from the 60s. That being said, I loved this show! It was cute and action packed. Though it isn’t perfect, it holds its own.
4. Bungou Stray Dogs - 5/10
The concepts and action are misconstrued in Bungou Stary Dogs. This is one of those shows that I chose to watch because it was all over Tumblr. The powers themselves are cool, but I can’t understand why this series is so praised. At it’s core its predictable and basic. The fights seemed low stakes and low energy. None of the humor really felt like it belonged. It tried too hard to be something it isn’t. I don’t think I’ll watch beyond this first season.
5. Kami no Tou - 4.5/10
First off, fuck Rachel, me and my homies hate Rachel. I really really had high hopes for Tower of God. It paves the way for Webtoon adaptations in the future. Its such a shame that this adaptation SUCKED. I have not read the source material, I’m going solely based on the anime. It wasn’t good? It was horrible. I hate Bam, I hate Rachel. I think all the characters expect Rak were awful. Please don’t make a season 2. Please. If you’re interesting in Tower of God, just read the webtoon.
6. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun - 7/10
Shoujo anime is my guilty pleasure. I especially liked the way Gekkan Shoujo tackled Sakura and Nozaki’s relationship. Besides just the main characters, even the side characters were enjoyable! It was a fun and creative show. My only complaint is how dense Nozaki is, but I also absolutely love that part of him.
7. Jojo no Kimyou no Bouken (Parts 1-2) - 6.5/10
Jojo is not the saving grace of shounen anime. It isn’t something super revolutionary and it certainly will never be a 10/10. Part 1 was so slow and boring. Jonathan was just mediocre at best. I definitely liked Joseph a LOT more than Jonathan. Part 2 overall was much easier to watch than part 1. The fights are good, but there’s just something about Jojo that I can’t get behind. Although I’m completely bashing this series, I’m going to keep watching it. At this point, I wanna know what a stand is.
8. Clannad - 5.5/10
I was expecting Clannad to be sad, but instead I got a cute, slice of life, romance. It wasn’t unenjoyable, but it was also a pretty slow-burning show. I loved watching Nagisa and Okazaki slowly fall in love with each other. It was funny at times and sad at other points. I am currently watching Clannad: After Story (which I’ve heard is heartbreaking), so I’m hoping to get some catharsis out of that.
9. Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai... - 6/10
This show is only 12 episodes, and yet it still has filler episodes for some reason? I’m a person who doesn’t typically watch isekai because the genre is so over done. However, when it’s done in a very specific way it’s really fun to watch! This show was definitely a lot of fun, it’s also cute and has so many interesting character-character interactions. The ending is painfully cliche, but I think it adds to this shows charm.
10. Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen - 8/10
I loved Love is War so much! I love their weird romantic dynamic. I love the characters, and I love the animation. It’s over the top and executes it humor masterfully. The entire show fills you with anticipation for the two main characters. Kaguya is my favorite character. Although I haven’t seen season two yet, I most certainly will! I’m so upset I hadn’t seen this show sooner.
11. Great Pretender - 8.5/10
This show is so colorful and bubbly. The animation is so smooth and they are able to tackle so many different kinds of things given its plot. The whole show itself just feels like summertime. It came out not to long ago, so some people may not be familiar with it. On top of the show itself, the music is great, with a Jazzy OP and and ED that features Freddie Mercury
12. Steins;Gate 0 - 8/10
I loved the original Stein;Gate so much! So it’s no surprise how much I liked the second season. It builds significantly off the first season in a sort of “off shot” OVA kind of way. The events of Steins;Gate 0 don’t actually happen, but that doesn’t stop it from being meaningful. The big “twist” was predictable and a bit of a let down, but I still enjoyed this. Granted, I’m bias.
13. Seishun Buta Yarou wa Yumemiru Shoujo no Yume wo Minai - 9.5/10
I sobbed. So much. This movie was phenomenal, it was such a trip. Having watched the original series, this tore my heart apart. It gets a high score for being able to take the characters I love and creating a wonderfully emotional experience. If you haven’t seen Bunny Girl Senpai, please watch it, and then watch this movie. You won’t regret it!
14. Hotaru no Haka - 6/10
Grave of the Fireflies made me stop watching anime for a while. Studio Ghibli created something grim, something that leaves the viewers feeling hollow. Its a movie about WWII from Japan’s perspective. As an American, all I could feel while watching this was immense guilt. I will say though, that some of the movies main plot could have easily been prevented if the main character had swallowed his pride. His younger sister was also my least favorite character. I get that she’s a kid and that kids are fussy, but you would think that during wartime, she’d be more understanding and at least try to eat the things she dislikes.
15. Yagate Kimi ni Naru - 9/10
This was a great way to end the summer. This is more that just GL romance, its a love story. Its about growing up and learning to understand your feelings. I related to Yuu so much, which made this more emotional than I expected. It’s really unlike another romance anime I’ve seen. I hope it gets confirmed for a second season. If not, I’ll be reading the manga.
Seasonal Shows: (Things that are still airing as of 9/5/2020)
1. The God of High School 7.5/10
Another thing done by studio MAPPA. Are you surprised? I absolutely love the action in GoH. The plot however, is all over the place. The story seems fragmented and hard to follow. Like Tower of God, it was poorly adapted. I’m giving it such a high score, because it’s SO much more enjoyable then Tower of God.
2. Enen no Shouboutai: Ni no Shou - 4/10
My thoughts on season 2 are about the same as my thoughts on season 1. The only difference is that this season has more Jojo references. I’ve rated it lower because its so repetitive. I’m so sick of watching it, but I’ve got to see it through the bitter end.
3. Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu 2nd Season - 8.5/10
All I’m going to say about Re:Zero is that I love it. I can’t give an accurate review of it because I’ve been hyping this season since it was announced. If you’re into non-typical isekai, watch Re:Zero, its so enjoyable!

proxy order arrived so here’s my oresama teacher merch collection!
i don’t buy the manga itself since i just read them at the library (dw i’m not damaging the books when i scan them! the spines are well protected) except for volume 4 since that was on sale. i want to get volume 9 eventually though
the two top left items are both doujinshi. one on the left is あいつがいないと始まらない!. it’s 88 pages and features stories about mafuyu and each of the main boys. one on the right is 緑ヶ丘学園へようこそ!! and is an 124 page anthology about the midorigaoka dorm boys (many comics/fics by different people). yes it includes arisugawa and yostuya. i’m sorry, i’ll try to find the artist names later...!
there’s also two clearfiles which is some of what i ordered this time! i really love both of those illustrations so i’m so happy to get them. look at kawauchi!!!
wahhhh... goto is so cute too. i adore the nozaki crossover where he turns oresama teacher into a typical shojo manga lol, mafuyu is just adorable here and takaomi looks so handsome (hayasaka is fine)
the other item i ordered this time was this yui glasses cleaning cloth! i was gonna use it, but it’s still in it’s original packaging so i feel kinda bad about it. i love glasses characters and the graphic of mafuyu cleaning her mask is too good
the clearfiles also came with another hana to yume bonus item, which is the christmas gift bag set. um... i’m not going to use those and they’re not even a good display item so idk what to do with them. they’re in the original packaging too even though the item released in 2013... i feel like japanese fans take really good care of their merch. have you just been holding on to a random gift bag set for 9 years!?
i don’t think i’m going to buy any more aside from volume 9 eventually. maybe if i see some OT buttons/charms for really cheap then i’ll give in though

Oresama Teacher, Vol. 29
By Izumi Tsubaki. Released in Japan by Hakusensha, serialized in the magazine Hana to Yume. Released in North America by Viz Media. Translated by JN Productions.
Though it’s not an explicit canon pairing, be warned I do talk about the IMPLICIT canon pairing in this review, so ‘ware spoilers.
The final volume of Oresama Teacher, a series that ran for thirteen years, and one of my own favorites, even though it will likely always be overshadowed by the still-running gag comedy Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun. It’s a shonen manga that ran in a shoujo magazine, and certainly had shoujo art, but one look at the plot and characters told you this was essentially a “gang manga at heart, and featured a lot of “new bad guy arrives -> slowly win them over through being nice and/or beating the crap out of them -> now they’re friends! -> new bad guy arrives” in a circle with Mafuyu as its pivot. We’ve had so many ridiculous situations, so many awesome fights, so many cool teenage girls and dorky teenage guys. The journey to get here was wonderful. So, should I still be disappointed if the ending is not one I personally wanted? I mean… if you exist in fandom, yes, it ruins everything. Fortunately, Oresama Teacher only has 29 fanfics on AO3.
First of all, despite the cover art, this is not an OT3 ending, alas, and we do not see Mafuyu getting married. We start off resolving the cliffhanger from last time, and if it feels a bit like it’s undercutting and mocking the drama, well, that’s what this series has always done best. Adfter this we deal with the last remaining open plot hook – what happened to Mafuyu’s memories when she was a kid? The answer, as Takaomi warns her, is not only something she will regret knowing when he tells her, but also something far less dramatic than you’d expect. It is, however, very in character for her. It even ties into the ending, as it turns out even Mafuyu can get into college if she applies herself… in the wrong way. We then get an extended “where is everyone off to after graduation” chapter, and end with a brief epilogue showing our main characters as adults.
So yeah, surprise, once again Japan loves teacher/student and jerk pairings more than the West. I always suspected that we were going with a Takaomi endgame, particularly when Hayasaka’s past only turned out to be the end of Part II rather than the whole series. Mafuyu’s memory loss ties in to her obsession with him – she couldn’t imagine living without him after he had to leave her to go to educational college, so she literally erased her own memories, somehow, to forget him. That is both in character and EXTREMELY frustrating, frankly. As for Takaomi himself, he’s far less effusive, but honestly, he hasn’t stopped her chasing after him her entire life, so why would he stop now? The epilogue shows he’s started a company (it’s unclear what it does, but it’s implied it’s a “we fix your problems” sort of company) and both Hayasaka and Mafuyu are employees there. And again, while the implication is the “they’ll always be friends!” was meant to be the emotional heft, there’s also his implication he’ll propose to her in three more years. Eh.
So yeah, not the pairing I wanted, but I enjoyed everything else about it. In the end I’ve enjoyed every single Izumi Tsubaki series. Sometimes I am alone in this (I will defend The Magic Touch to my dying day), sometimes I am part of a much larger horde (Nozaki-kun 2nd season WHEN?). Oresama Teacher fits squarely in the middle. Its fans love it, but it’s still a bit of a cult. Its huge, huge cast can give readers a headache. And you’d better love dimbulbs, because this series runs on them. I’ll miss it dearly.

RAAAAAH OKAY SO-
they look very similar to the outfits wore by babymetal during metal galaxy era, with some differences ofc but im living for it!! the emerald green/blue is so pretty and it fits their vibe so well imo <3
the little curves/swirls on the shoulder bits are such a nice addition and it kinda gives me more playful, energetic vibes to babymetal's more mature

I'm an SG stannie and it's hell. The creepiness of these old men. permeates. everything. Even the most innocuous comments have layers of creepy. People are the worst about Momoe Mori (15yo) and Yume Nozaki (11, anecdotally calls Kano her boyfriend) because they're assertive and make it clear - I've seen them called b*tches TOO MANY TIMES... like what the fuck? And on the other hand there's a literal fanclub for 13yo Miku Tanaka and people keep saying she'd be a 'great wife'... disgust
I.............cannot even imagine what it's like being an sg fan. Like you have indeed painted a picture that is not at all surprising but the disgust is boiling up so much that I genuinely do not know how you handle it. Imagine being a grown ass adult and calling a literal child an insult oR calling a literal child """"wife material"""" sosososo gross
