As always, a big big big thanks to @alphardofthealley for the lyrics booklet. I am always and forever very grateful!!! Let's kick off Op. 5 with some feelsy Sherlock and John!
For my friend

Oretachi no yuujou ni kakete Oretachi no yuujou ni kakete
English John, you made me realize What’s important in being a friend That’s why I will save him the way you saved me
Watson: Sherlock…
Humans are fragile, and fleeting Be it a deep reason for living, or a fleeting dream If someone decides they want to live Their world becomes ever more beautiful
I need to make him realize It’s something only I can do Like you taught me, a friend’ duty is to teach another friend what’s important
Sherlock, I’m so relieved You know, right here, what’s important You know what’s right, though you may not know where the path leads you I’m sure you’ll make no mistake, and find the right path
Sherlock: I don’t know what lies beyond this darkness Yet still I will go to him John: This path that You’ve decided to walk Come closer to him With all your heart
His pain His everything Accept it all
I want to / Go, do it
John, you Listen, Sherlock
No matter what happens I want you to believe in me I believe in you
I hold our friendship with me I hold our friendship with me*
懸ける - means to put on a cloak, so I’m guessing the song means that on his pursuit to find William, Sherlock keeps close his friendship to John in his heart, that without it he can’t do what he must do (IM FEELS)
NOTE: Unlike before, I only based this on what's on the booklet, rather than the audio. (Bec I don't have a copy of the audio rn!! Big gomens!)

¹reference to an important amis/pangcah cultural symbol, visible in the cover art in the center of the soldier's hat. i could not find the actual word for it in amis and, interestingly, it only appears in the japanese sections of the song. will edit the post if i find it T-T
this song is the story lead singer (and lyricist on this song) Natsuko once heard from her father about her grandfather's experience as an amis volunteer soldier during the final days of WWII. full translation of the portion of the interview that talks about this particular song in very great depth here. brief excerpt for basic contexts:
In 1945, the US military began bombing Taiwan, and Japan was on the verge of facing the reality of their imminent loss. A group of young Amis men were at the Takasago volunteer military camp in Taichung, witnessing the chaos firsthand and fearing deployment under such circumstances. They resolved not to fight any more on another nation’s behalf, and a number of them decided to desert and return to Taitung on foot. Natsuko’s grandfather was among them.
#completely random posting but i was talking to smrithi abt this song and realized it would actually be super short to tl .#and if i was doing it i may as well post it .#the way that this song makes me cry fr truly so beautiful...... bridge gives me chills eeeevery time#info about the song's content under the read more.#and link to wayyyyyyy more info about it lol#> this is based on the official mandarin version posted by the artist and since that is her native language and she like. wrote the song.#i trust it to be accurate to the intended meaning kajhdf#but i speak neither of the languages it is actually in .#so. sorry to any japanese speakers who may see this.#also. this ones a more obv translation note but.#bears mentioning that i think it is appropriate to read rising sun imagery throughout#as both reference to all of the day/night imagery & the symbol of imperial japan.#well. kyokujitsu/旭日 is like. the actual word 4 the rising sun symbol so in that part imperial army is the primary definition being used but#i think even in the other parts it is fair game.#tls

Amayo no Seppun - Atarashii Gakko! / Atarashii Gakkou no Leaders (雨夜の接吻 - 新しい学校のリーダーズ) lyrics translation + romaji + kanji
english translation + romaji + kanji under the cut!
KISSES ON A RAINY NIGHT
The stray hairs on the nape of my neck get wet in the spring rain Making my slender body tremble Please hold me, immediately Like the scattering cherry blossoms
My janome¹ umbrella rolls down the slope Even though there’s no wind Kisses on a rainy night Ah, I’m soaking wet, soaking wet
Frightened by the spring thunder, I huddle my shivering body Contemplating the fate of our love Give me your heart, give me the truth Like witnessing a flash of blue lightning
My geta with broken thongs in hand If I chase after you, I go in my socks Kisses on a rainy night Ah, I’m burning up, burning up
You pick up the janome and cover us Embrace my shoulders, back, waist Kisses on a rainy night Ah, I’m shaking, I’m shaking

Lee Hyperreal Image Song “Dim Light” JP Lyrics Translation
After a week the full song was posted on Lee's Activation Day, I'm here to post my translation rendition of the JP Version of "Dim Light" (*‘ω‘ *) As mentioned in a previous post, I'll postpone the audio translyrics of Dim Light indefinitely due to poor weather conditions for recording. I'll eventually start doing it once the weather becomes a bit more stable so please look forward to that. I'll be updating this post when I do upload it.In the meantime, you can give the JP version a listen over on the official PGR JP Server's Youtube Channel! Lyrics translation are under the cut (≧▽≦)
Song Title: Dim Light Sung by: Lee (CV: Matsuoka Yoshitsugu) Producer: Vanguard Sound Studio
Namima wo terasu Tsuki no akari Rasen no saki de Kibou sagasu Sora wo oyoide Fukan suru sekai no yukusue
In the seam of the waves shine the light of a blue moon Seeking for a hope that lies beyond this lofty spire Floating within the void is a world that holds in store a future dawning so soon
Tameiki wo tsuite uzu ni shizundeku Mizukara tsukutta rou ni tozasarete Shuusoku no sekai Mezashita mirai Michi no tabi he
I deeply felt the sighs I made as I sank into the vortex I'm now ensnared inside this confinement of my own making Beyond these unopened doors, a future I'm aiming for leads to an obscure journey
These dim lights that were laid bare are nostalgic Engraved deep, the gravity of life is intrinsic All of these splendid wishes, I hold dear in my heart May our bonds give strength when we're far apart Never again shall I ever forget―this I swear! My dear comrade
Kiseki ni sotte Ushiro muki ni Hoshi ga shidai ni kasunde yuku Kioku tadotte Yozora ni kanashimi ga sotto nijimu
As I move along this path that faced the other way, each step I take grows hazy by the whims of the stars Tracing back the memories, I silently stare up the night sky, hiding all my scars
Michi naru chikara ga toki no naka ni aru Mugamuchuu na boku wo toki ga misadameru Saa, me wo tojite Mukae ni ikou Arata na sekai wo
In every moment we live through lies a strength inexplicable Time and space will bear witness to how I would take up the mantle So close your eyes, have faith―let's welcome with open arms The new world we'll move forward to
I just know it
Kesshite Nidoto wasure ha shinai I just know it
These dim lights that were laid bare are nostalgic Engraved deep, the gravity of life is intrinsic All of these splendid wishes, I hold dear in my heart May our bonds give strength when we're far apart Never again shall I ever forget―this I swear! I just know it
Haiiro no tsubasa hirogete Omoi haseta basho he habataku Ibitsu na chikai Nozonda sekai Akogareta hikari Kono te ni Me to me majiwashi Aratamete na wo Yobiaou
Unfurling this ashen-colored wings of mine, We now take flight towards the skies we've set our hearts on The timeline I have wanted emerged from a jaded vow This ray of hope in my hand now has been granted As we call out each other, our gazes now converges A warmth surges
========
Translation Notes: * = While the kanji written is 刻(koku), it is also an alternative form of 時(toki) ** = 時空(jikuu) is space-time but in some cases, it’s accepted as toki in reference to the dimension plane *** = While the kanji written is 刻(koku), the furigana reads as (basho). In this particular line, I opted to do a liberal translation instead to connect the song’s meaning for this patch update.

Shinsengumi ~Zan'yō no Yukusue~ - Synopsis, Characters, Historical Background & Glossary
Do not retranslate/repost without permission.
Synopsis of the story
It was the end of the Edo period (Bakumatsu), when the times were beginning to change dramatically.
The Shinsengumi was created to restore order by expanding the shogunate's power once again.
What will be the fate of those who uphold a sincere heart and diligently speak of the future?
Characters
Kiryuin Van as Kondō Isami
Commander of the Shisengumi
Since childhood, he has held an extraordinary admiration for samurai. With his friendly and generous personality, he is highly trusted by his subordinates. He also possesses political skills, and even the upper echelons of the shogunate regard him as a sharp-minded individual.
Otori Eiichi as Hijikata Toshizo
Vice-commander of the Shisengumi
He has a personality that values discipline and often approaches others with a stern attitude. However, in some odd moments, he occasionally reveals an innocent side. He is also highly skilled at organizational leadership and excels in external negotiations, such as fundraising.
Otori Eiji as Okita Soji
Captain of the First Unit of the Shinsengumi
He is known for his gentle and kind demeanor. However, he is one of the strongest members of the Shinsengumi, and once he holds a sword, he can swiftly take down an enemy with his graceful technique. At times, he appears to have a somewhat philosophical outlook.
Sumeragi Kira as Nagakura Shinpachi
Captain of the Second Unit of the Shinsengumi
His swordsmanship is that of a master swordsman who has studied multiple schools, yet he is meticulous and engages in daily, steady training without overestimating his own abilities. Additionally, he possesses a single-minded dedication to relentlessly pursue his ideals.
Amakusa Shion as Saito Hajime
Captain of the Third Unit of the Shinsengumi
He has a mysterious aura and does not reveal much of his inner thoughts, but he harbors a deep passion within. He particularly respects the commander and vice-commander, and has a strong attachment to the Shinsengumi.
Mikado Nagi as Todo Heisuke
Captain of the Eight Unit of the Shinsengumi
He has a bright and straightforward disposition, and is known for speaking his mind about everything. He is considerate of his friends and always subtly attentive to his surroundings. In addition to his swordsmanship, he is also well-versed in academics, embodying the ideal of being well-rounded in both martial and literary arts.
Hyuga Yamato as Harada Sanosuke
Captain of the Tenth Unit of the Shinsengumi
Although he gives off the impression of being rough and uncouth at first glance, he is fundamentally a serious and kind-hearted person, well-regarded by those around him. He’s renowned not only for his swordsmanship but also for his mastery of the spear, often showing resourcefulness during battles.
Historical Background
Track 1→2→3
Bunkyū 3 (1863)
To Edo
To apply for the shogunate’s recruitment of soldiers, Kondo and others departed from Edo. It is said that the last to join among the seven was Saito.
The August 18 coup
The incident in which the anti-shogunate forces, including the Chōshū clan, were expelled from Kyoto. At this time, Kondō and others were dispatched, achieving notable accomplishments and earning the name Shinsengumi.
First year of Genji (1864)
Ikedaya Incident
This was an incident in which the Shinsengumi became aware of exiled anti-Shogunate factions trying to stage an incident to regain their power, and consequently carried out a purge.
Track 4
Keiō 3 (1867)
Restauration of power to the Emperor
The shogunate relinquished the political power it had held for a long time to the Imperial Court. However, the shogunate still sought to participate in the new government.
Aburanokōji Incident
This incident occurred as a result of a power struggle between a faction that split off from the Shinsengumi due to ideological differences and the Shinsengumi members that remained.
Track 5
Keiō 4 (1868)
Battle of Toba-Fushimi
The former shogunate forces rose up against the new government to restore the shogun's power. This marked the beginning of the Boshin War. The Shinsengumi also joined the battle as part of the former shogunate forces.
Battle of Hakodate
After engaging in battles across various regions, the former shogunate forces arrived in Hakodate, where they waged the final war. Also known as the Battle of Goryokaku. Hijikata and others participated.
Meiji 2 (1869)
Track 6, 7
Glossary
Headquarters (Tonsho)
The residence where the members of the Shinsengumi lived together. Due to becoming cramped, among other reasons, they relocated several times.
Lord of Aizu (Aidzu-kō)
It refers to Matsudaira Katamori, the daimyō (lord) of the Aizu Domain. He also served as the Kyoto Shugoshoku, a position established to maintain public order in Kyoto, and the Shinsengumi were under his command.
Rai San’yō
A Confucian scholar from the late Edo period. His work Nihon Gaishi (Unofficial History of Japan), which depicts the ebb and flow of the samurai class, was also a favorite of Kondo, who admired it so deeply that he even imitated the author’s handwriting.
Choshu Domain
A domain that was located in present-day Yamaguchi Prefecture. During the late Edo period, it became a stronghold for anti-shogunate forces that opposed the Shinsengumi, and was the site of a private school run by a prominent thinker.
Taijukō
This term refers to a shogun. It comes from ancient Chinese tradition. In this work, it mainly refers to Tokugawa Yoshinobu, who became the last shogun of the Edo shogunate.
Imperial Army
The military of the new government, which would later become the Meiji government. They aimed to overthrow the shogunate and establish a modern nation centered around the Emperor. Many members were from Choshu and Satsuma.
Boshin War
A war fought between the imperial army and the former shogunate army. It began with the Battle of Toba-Fushimi and ended with the Battle of Hakodate. It is the largest-scale civil war in Japanese history.

Here is my most favorite song in Op4. The whole Moriarty group singing about William. Am I just really weak to the Moriarty group?? Yes. What really gets to me most in this track is just how much PAIN and ANGUISH there is on Louis's face. The most pain I've ever seen on anyone's face, ever. (I love Yamamoto Ikkei, if that wasn't obvious yet.)
Broken into a thousand pieces
Chiji ni midarete Characters: Albert James Moriarty, Sebastian Moran, Louis James Moriarty, Fred Porlock
Kanji

English
“William”’s name will be publicized It’s a fate we couldn’t avoid There’s no choice... but to keep going With my heart broken into a thousand pieces
[Albert] I’d always had a feeling, here in my heart That William will take upon the cross by himself
[Moran] No matter what happens, I won’t be swayed I will protect you and the path you want to go on
[Louis] My heart is anxious, my body shivers What would I do if Nii-san disappears?
[Fred] This is a plan. Right. But is this really okay? I’ll believe in him, in William-san...
[Albert] Let’s head forward, if this is the path William chose [Moran] I’ll make sure your plan goes through [Louis] Nii-san, I beg of you, please don’t disappear [Fred] I believe in William-san. I have to...
“William”’s name will be shredded by the world A path we can’t turn back on This heart (this shivering, this yearning, this thought) sways My heart is broken into a thousand pieces My heart is broken into a thousand pieces

Translation
The colour of the desire rising up from my throat is red
This never ending night, in which I only want to bury this transient void
Struggling in ashes, between Life and Death
Covered in blood, sucking up, my body is high
From the window, the glaring sky is always sad
I don’t understand your days of holding the Cross
It’s said to be deadly,
Break through the theory and go beyond
Don’t cover your trembling hands
“The joy of living now”,
I dared to even wish
For this midnight trap - ...!
I saw a vision of sacrifice for love
At the limit of the catharsis
Between thorns, I grabbed the only answer to the destination
Only by getting terribly drunk
In the sweetness of sin
You’ll revive in the rotten flower garden
A farewell gift to the Dystopia
A dream that can’t be told to anyone deceived my eyes
The pain awakens, the future is inside this basket
We’ll both wish to go crazy
With this eternity that imitates darkness
As always, being swallowed up
Is the end of the dead little bird
Getting shot through the arm,
The chest getting crimson - ...!
I saw a vision of sacrifice for love
In the end of the catharsis
The flame is approaching, wrapped in a bright scarlet
The ringing bell told
The beginning of the end
Your destiny will kill your breath
Watering the Dystopia
The tears I’ve shed
Won’t heal
I saw a vision of sacrifice for love
At the limit of the catharsis
Between thorns, I grabbed the only answer to the destination
Only by getting terribly drunk
In the sweetness of sin
You’ll revive in the rotten flower garden
A farewell gift to the Dystopia
Struggling in ashes, between Life and Death
Covered in blood, sucking up, my body is high

Remnant
I did promise I’d post this today. I meant to do it this morning, but language conversations happened and I got distracted. lol
I broke the long ‘comic’ into four images in hopes of helping the load times, but they’re still large for readability.
This is just the part with Elidibus. Kanji transcription, romanization, and text-only translation at the bottom as always. <3 I will give a cut to aid loading times and because I’m still not sure; even with the lift on Spoilers; if this might be a bit much since it’s basically the whole bit.
Kanji:
Romanization: Elidibus: kore wa......
Elidibus: aa...... sou da...... ZODIAAKU ni nareba, minna o sukueru to omotte...... keredo, natta ato ni mo, nakamatachi no nageki ga kikoeta n'da......
Elidibus: sekai ni yukusue ni tsuite, takusan no iken ga deta...... sonna koto wa mazarashii kara, iinkai no minna ga nayandeita.
Elidibus: dattara, ERIDIBUSU ga tedasukeshi ni ikanai to...... sou omotte, ZODIAAKU kara koboreochitanda.
Translation: Elidibus: This is.....
Elidibus: Ah.... that's right... I believed I could save everyone, once I had become Zodiark... but afterwards, I could hear the lamentations and grief of my friends.
Elidibus: A great many opinions were expressed regarding the fate of the world... everyone in the Convocation was troubled, since such a thing was unusual.
Elidibus: That being the case, I could not go help them in my role as Emissary. I believed that they needed Elidibus, so I pulled myself from Zodiark.
Elidibus: Really... I loved... all of them.
Elidibus: I believed that I would see them again, once I had fulfilled my duty. Their happy, smiling faces......
Elidibus: There’s nothing for it then, is there? I'm the last one left......
Blurb/Notes: This translation went through about three iterations, but I’m satisfied with where it landed. I have a whole discussion over some parts of this, and other but I wanted to post this image; this scene; with the English translation. I’m writing up something including French translations for things. There have been some interesting finds I want to share, but this post is long enough as it is and this way, I don’t detract from the focused scene here. <3
