Jongdae/Zitao

By the time filming is over, everyone has been stretched thin, raw and exhausted. It’s just a matter of changing and loading up before they can rest, Jongdae knows, but the thought is dampened by the knowledge that they have to be on a plane in eight hours too.

He’s already changed into jeans and a button up when he realizes that Zitao’s still fully dressed and slumped in front of a vanity, staring blankly through the mirror with a sort of dead-eyed exhaustion that has sunk so bone deep, Jongdae isn’t sure if they’ll ever be free of it.

"Hey," he murmurs, sliding over, fingertips turning Zitao away from the mirror. "C’mon, Taozi, time to go."

Blink, blink, blink, it takes a moment for Zitao to even react properly, as if a switch needs to be flipped for him to come alive again,  his movements mechanical, though his eyes soften with life. “Sorry… I’m just…” He trails off, but Jongdae gets it. He isn’t as perfectly attuned to Zitao-radio the way Junmyeon is, but he gets it.

Once upon a time, someone else was here to nudge Zitao along when he needed it, who pulled him through when Zitao couldn’t - sometimes wouldn’t - do it himself.

"C’mon," he urges again, this time reaching out to start pushing decorated jacket off Zitao’s shoulder, pulling Zitao up so they can undo matching pants, everything ending up in a heap because Jongdae’s got his hands full, trying to keep a swaying Zitao upright enough to tug jeans, tanktop, and jacket - Jongdae quickly vetoing the other five layers Zitao had originally been wearing. Zitao helps along, but Jongdae would rather him just keep still than have to watch the way his hands tremble. Zitao mumbles in slurring Mandarin, apologies, gratitude, and helplessness jumbled up together.

"It’s okay," Jongdae tells him, finally taking his hand to lead him to the vans. Not that anyone, group or staff, would actually let Zitao get lost or left behind, but Jongdae’s going to keep him close. "Come on, let’s go home so we can go to bed."

"Home?" Zitao sighs, a breath more than a word, a strange mix of hopeful and sad, because home, as he tucks himself on Jongdae’s shoulder once they’re both safely in the van.

"Home," Jongdae told him, stroking fingers through dyed hair as Zitao drifted away again. "Home."

i don’t think there’s a clear winner, but...when i saw jason mraz for the first time last year during his YES tour...that was pretty amazing. incredible concert & ended up being able to meet him + get my shirt signed for him at the end. i only had to wait like 20 mins too bc we had gone to grab food and as we were walking back to garage we saw everyone waiting and figured, why not :D

i can mediocre-ly: sing and play the piano/guitar/ukulele/flute.

picking at skin, being too lazy to go out and get food if there’s nothing in the fridge

oooooooh man. when i first started driving, i decided to take a different way home from work (highway). i missed my exit (and at the time didn’t have a good smartphone that could gps) so i used an actual gps for cars (which sucked). so while trying to pay attention to gps, i exited at the next ramp...at....way too fast and veered off the road--not into the grass but y’know that slight difference in ground levels. it was loud, i freaked, and did the THING YOU’RE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO WOW SELF WAY TO NOT REMEMBER DRIVERS ED, and pressed on brakes. and then...i spun out of control. TERRIFYING AF. good thing it was late at night and there wasn’t anyone behind me (tho if that were so i prolly wouln’t have been driving so carelessly) and i didn’t hit hit the metal rail--ider if there was one. BUT ANYWAY...kids pay attention to the road and drive carefully!!!!
