And not even touching on the fact that it isn't Yukio's responsibility if Rin is lonely or not and that Yukio is the younger of the twins and just as lonely/isolated.

But with rynoah's point, I can't help but think of how Rin pushes people away and isolates himself and doesn't do the reaching out on his own, and the correlation of that with how Shirou's break to Satan finally happened. There is absolutely a connection there.

Rin is not a passive character in his story. He has made choices and refusing to put in effort on his own behalf is a choice. It was him that was isolating himself in those flashbacks and he even acknowledges this at the exwire camp when he comments on the fact.

We see Rin trying to help with no idea how because he doesn't hang out with people. (We also see Yukio reaching out and getting the silent treatment.)

Rin is isolated and lonely, and part of it is his demonic strength and temper, but it is also very much something he's had a hand in doing to himself.

Yukio doesn't realize rin was lonely because he was key contributor to said loneliness
