Finnish Nationals ended today.

Eighth national title for 37-year-old Dr. Valtter Virtanen. Arttu Juusola won his second national medal, the silver. Jan Ollikainen won his second national medal, the bronze.

Olivia Lisko won her first national title. Third national medal for Linnea Ceder, who wins silver. Second national medal for Janna Jyrkinen, who wins bronze.

Third national title for Milania Vaananen and Filippo Clerici, who competed unopposed.

Juulia Turkilla and Matthias Versluis won their fifth national title. Fifth national medal for Yuka Orihara and Juho Pirinen, who win silver. First national medal for Daniela Ivanitsky and Matthew Sperry.

for the reverse unpopular opinions, something about yuka orihara/juho pirinen!

oh this is easy because i love them! aside from the frankly immaculate costuming and packaging (unsurprising considering shizuko orihara), i like how much juho in particular projects throughout the entire performance - instead of just "presenting" yuka, he always matches her energy and it really helps their programs not fall into the serious skating -> !! choreo sequence !! -> serious skating pitfall. especially important for the chicago free skate of course but the commitment's there in their siren program as well

on a more technical note the back-to-back crossed kilian rockers in the siren fs is a huge slay even if it's messy sometimes, and their combo lift from the chicago fs hits like nothing else. that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you time changes of position / lift type to the music! it's very broadway. very camp
