Hey everyone! I’m back from Japan. What a trip! And so day one of the 2019 Mandarake Daimansai festival comes to a close. What a day! So many great items, snapped up by so many great visitors, who enjoyed so many great events, and to top it all off with a live performance from four great groups! Today we had the Shiryosei Expo take place in the Cosmo room with lots of different vendors selling lots of different items. Some of these you will be able to find later on the Mandarake online store and will be sold by consignment. Some of our different departments brought their A game, and some super awesome items to the Sky Room, and we even had a Michiru Noroi live auction. During the day we got to listen to some of our staff members belting out some awesome tunes at karaoke, while dressed in cosplay. We had a brilliant photograph event by Yurika-chan, where she modelled 3 sexy cosplay outfits. After there were cheki-photos and a lottery to win her bikini! There were so many Mandarake exclusive and special items! There were Grand King & Yutomu sofubi from Marusan with Daimansai exclusive colors. We had two varieties of the Machine Obake sofubi, one looking really cute (Kewai ver) and the other (Yakou ver) glowing in the dark. The Non-Standard Collection continued with a 60cm sofubi of Astroganger, the first color super robot anime! There was also a fantastic manga/sofubi set. The sofubi was of the title character of Noboru Yoshimi's Shojo Chameleon, and had interchangeable heads. The comic itself was also something you didn't was to miss out on. Continuing with vintage manga, we had reprints of Roppon Yubi / Kaijin Kage Otoko by Masami Kuroda and Marina Shirakawa's Kokkuri Yashiki. Both stunning work brought back to life. As well as copies of Gorilla to no Kekkon, we also had t-shirts available! For those looking to spiritually open their mind, we had two books from the Mumyouan EO Series: Bunkatsu Jiga Fukugen Riron & Haikyo no Budda-Tachi (Buddhas in Rubble). This year we had a tshirt and also a Tote bag designed by Kenji Tsuruta. Each design looking awesome with a steampunk theme. Fans of Syundei were treated not only to a reprint of the highly regarded X (Batten), but also the mini illustration collection 'Others' as well as four different original croquis books! Horror manga fans were not dissapointed as we had some fantastic full front print t-shirts from Uzumaki creator Junji Ito. Not only that but there were also backpacks and smartphone cases. We had Puff to Kaijuu Club no Jidai - Tokusatsu Fanzine Fuunroku, a new 564 page book. Celebrating season 3 of Starmyu we had 23 different HUGE towels and acrylic key holders, each based on a different character of the hit anime. At Counter C we had a treat for Necronomidol fans with sticker and can badge gachas, a collaboration with Shun Suzuki. There was a special talk show with Tokushike Kawakatsu, Masahiko Takahashi and our own vice president, Yujiro Tsujinaka. And finally, we were treated to a special concert with Bakuretsu Joshi (Burst Girl), Avandoned, Saka-Saka and Necronomidol, followed by special item sales.
